Detroit Urban Survival Training: what do users think?
Austin Liang: can't wait to move to detroit and learn from you guys when i get older!
Felicia Safford: Lt. Commander Dale and Lt. Commander Mirela was absolutely amazing!! They were very informative and provided some great insight on what self defense is really about! I appreciate their willingness and commitment to help our community. The Huntington Bank Family thanks you! 💚
Lisa Riccobono: This team is passionate and committed to empowerment. They came to Huntington Bank and facilitated a class free of charge, for our women’s network members! They were very professional, educational, and fun! It was a great session that all the women attending enjoyed! Thank you and great job!
Fight In Sight Podcast: Commander Dale has been a very positive influence on my life and so many others. Getting to meet and know him has been a privilege and an honor. He is serious about what he and his team do, and learning self defense techniques which you may one day need, is NEVER a joke. Check them out if you can. It may just save your life.
Soufiane Bernoukh: Had a great experience over at DUST and the people are really positive and educated! I learned a lot and can’t wait to come back
Gabriel Saad: As a 17 year old teenager, this was a surprisingly entertaining and fun experience. Cool and usefull survival tricks and it was awesome to meet the people in charge. All my friends were pretty shocked when I told them I got to take a lesson with THE urban survival guy from youtube. Really cool people, very friendly to ALL agree groups. There were people as young as 6 years old and people as old as 60 all learning the same thing. Really cool hands on demonstrations and overall a great time with a great learning experience. Thanks guys ✌️
David: Commander brown is very knowledgeable and has many helpful tools to help you defend yourself. I support DUST.
Nicholas Tarver: 5 stars for D.U.S.T.The staff really cares about the mission of the organization👍👍. They also made my whole family feel empowered and confident in their own abilities. I encourage anyone to go up there especially families with kids.My family was about to learn some form of martial arts like boxing. But after taking them here we all agreed this is much better for real life scenarios. So now we attend twice a week as a family. Kids and the wife love it and can't wait till our next session.Thank you for such an amazing resource.
Pc up Ka: I was in training here and the instructor didn't know what hea doing. And the owner will reply with negative reviews with law suit Theats. It's case law you can leave a negative review and the owner has zero expertise.
Brandon Kalker: Fake survival training that can get you killed. Please don't follow anything this guy has to show you it's incredibly dangerous, what he's doing is faking skill to try to get views.
LORD D. #1: I learned some knife disarms back when I was a black belt, in an organization called WCWMA. At that time, I wasn't taught how to do gun disarms because I was only 15 at that time. Perhaps if I move to Detroit from Cali State I might be interested in joining DUST.
Patrick Thomas: Commander Brown and Detroit DUST provided a 4.5 hour seminar at our jiu jitsu gym (Freedom Academy) and it was truly fantastic. I attended it with some of the best fighters I know, with whom I’ve been training for 3.5 years, and these techniques worked on them, too. I attended the seminar with our black belt and several purple belts. They were also incredibly impressed with these techniques.Their entire team was so organized, helpful, and skilled. Their system is truly a marvel; within 15 minutes our gym was transformed into their training area. It is immediately clear they have been doing this for multiple decades. In addition to the techniques, Commander Brown provided excellent advice for how to de-escalate situations, how to act completely within Michigan law, and how to avoid mistakes others have made over the years. All his assistants knew the techniques just as well and were able to help us throughout the event.I can’t endorse Detroit DUST enough. Commander Brown is Batman. He’s the real deal. Attached is a photo of me proving I was there!
Craig Funk (FunkFitness): My experiences at Detroit DUST have been amazing. I have always been passionate about Personal Protection and have always looked to be a seeker of knowledge. That is exactly what they have to offer! There is a lot of years of experience with some very extraordinary and friendly people who are happy to work with anyone. Each time I've come to train, I have learned something new and can apply it to what I do as an Instructor and also to my every day life as this type of training can most certainly save lives! The facility itself is very clean and comfortable! Go check them out and learn something new that could save your life one day!
Kevin Robinson: "Excellent in Theory and Application "
Darrion Jones: Wonderful people very good and very helpful training 100% recommend visiting these guys
MJk: Awesome staff!
Taurean Taylor: Great place to train and get the latest self defense classes
David Jewell: I trust this man with my life!
Ron kontowsky: Dale definitely knows his hand to hand and real world tactics, if you doubt his technique just go visit him and he would be happy to show you a few moves and make you a believe like everyone else that did just that. 🙏🏽
RJ Pinder: Big fan of D.U.S.T !
Roy Steed: The best defense class I’ve ever attended. I recommend all security agency, police departments and strongly suggest families enroll in some classes. Trust when I say the training will be useful if you’re ever in a situation protecting yourself or breaking up a fight.

Detroit Kung Fu Academy: what do users think?
Cole: Very poor. Owen is unconscionable.
Cecil Schinco: Funking incredible trifecta birthday dance party yall.Dj was joe-k ing worthy.Grateful to boogie always.
Nic: Transformative! I have a background in a few different martial arts, however I have found Ving Tsun (pronounced Wing Chun) to be a more efficient and effective system than the others. In terms of self defense, especially living in detroit it has helped to make sure I get home at the end of the night. The body of work that this family puts fourth is amazing. Even better, you are treated like family. Being able to test the work you put in with many different levels of students reinforces your training. Traveling to other states to practice with other schools are some of my favorite experiences I've had.Detroit Kung Fu Academy has very accomplished Sifus. The reach is vast. Several schools, Detroit MI, Southfield MI, Chicago IL, Asheville SC, and internationally all the way to Vienna Austria. As well as all the Moy Tung schools all over the states to visit.
Louis Dellorto: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueStarted training here when I lived in Detroit in 2013 and it continues to vastly improve my life to this day. High quality instructors will lead you in great full body workouts and teach you invaluable self defense skills. Strongly recommend.
Yvette McCaulley: In addition to authentic high quality training, this school has a number of schedules available to plug into. It is also connected to branches across the country (and internationally) so there are interesting opportunities to travel and train.Personally, I’ve been the type of student to modulate between training hard, easing up, training mildly, but whatever stage I’m at it’s easy to get back to it and participate.
Amburr Tittle: Training at Detroit Kung Fu Academy has improved my quality of life in inexplicable ways. Learning the art of relaxation, efficiency, & self defense all in one perfect cocktail of a challenging & rewarding workout.I recommend DKFA to anyone seeking a valuable martial arts experience; whether it be for exercise, stress management, self defense, or any other reason. At DFKA, you will find passionate Sifu’s & instructors dedicated to their art & passing it on to others. There is also great camaraderie amongst the students that train here & a welcoming spirit to those of all experience levels & ages.Highly recommended.Try it today; you won’t regret it!🙏
ron setz: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
P Smoove: I love training here and i love all of my kung fu family that i have come to know here over the years. The training is intensive but really fun. A lot of kool secrets to this style too. If u really wanna be bout that kung fu life this is the spot.
Frankie Daddio: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAuthentic Ving Tsun and an excellent community of practitioners. There's no doubt that this training has, and continues to help me improve my quality of life and abilities.
Devon Drake: Positive:Quality,ValueThis school is the place to go to study the best self defense, train the best instincts, refine the best reflexes and learn the best kung-fu. Highly recommend to martial artists of all ages and all experience levels!
Gandalf Dali: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueDKFA is a great community to train the martial arts in. The teachers are very knowledgeable and detailed, the students work hard, and the school is an incredible facility
D Kooy: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value
I D: Positive:QualityVery gracious to have been shown authentic Ving Tsun from passionate martial artists. A must try for any body movement enthusiast.
Andrew Baron: Nice, clean dojo. Very professional and friendly staff. Tons of items to explore.
Steve Anthony: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value3 months into training and I'm still finding reasons to enjoy it. Great people. Very knowledgeable and personable. Great place to train at a fair price!
Gabriele Hargraves: The longer I train the more curious I get.KungFu is a life style and study, infiltrating all aspects of my life. The physical benefits alone are priceless as is the acquired ability to self-defend. The students are diverse and the instructors are excited to pass on their depth of knowledge.
Michael Benkstein: Detroit Kung Fu Academy transformed my life. I lost 80 pounds and quit smoking. I’m a young man again. I like that in addition to the Detroit location there is also a Southfield location near my home. No previous martial arts experience needed. It’s great exercise and stress relief, and it’s a lot of fun too. Keep at it, the skills will come.
Kevin Peterson: This is excellent training for fitness and self defense. When studying a traditional art like this, there is always more to learn.
TheHighlandwarrior: Meticulous details to the Ving Tsun training system passed down thru the generations from IP Man to Moy Yat to Moy Tung to Moy Yee Tung to Lung Yat Tung. Classes to meet any schedule. 6am, noon, 7pm, private lessons and Kung Fu on demand if you travel. Book an intro. Change your world.
Jeff Jacobs: Detroit Kung Fu Academy teaches real Kung Fu. The depth and knowledge of all the Sifu's is extraordinary! As a student of the school for many years, one word sticks out in my mind - transformative. All the areas my life improved since I joined the school. My health, coordination, strength, self-defense skills and mental focus has improved significantly. If you want real Kung Fu training you should give it a try, you will be glad you did.

Krav Maga Detroit: what do users think?
jackie dalton: So amazing. All of the instructor's where amazing. My son really enjoyed the class and learned a lot at the same time. The first time he has worked that hard and actually enjoyed it. He was very proud to sign up for the class 👏
Bill John: I started coming to KMD on advice from a colleague and, after two years, the only thing I'm upset about is that I didn't start sooner. Owners are simply wonderful, staff is exceptionally informative and friendly, all other students I've met are nice, fun, and want to be there. Something that I was worried about prior to joining was the the atmosphere and culture, but once you step foot into the place you can tell they are extremely friendly and inviting. If you ever wonder if you should come here, I would highly recommend. I also want to state that you'll get exactly what you put into it. Show up, try, work at it, and KMD will be there for you.
Ken Lee: Great place, nice variety of classes, many instructors - all top notch.
Jade C: It was a wonderful journey, I think they are excellent with the training and instruction they provide. Even though there are many students, they find a way to help everyone develop a little bit more any time they show up.
Hayram Nicacio: Amazing
Ashara Hood: Do yourself a favor and come to a class today! My only regret is that I waited so long to try it. There’s nothing like training with incredible instructors and partnering in class with people who are so kind and focused. I look forward to the hours I spend on the floor and I’ve become stronger physically and mentally, and I’ve only been doing this for a month. This is thee absolute best decision and investment in my well-being that I’ve ever experienced. Your life is worth it, and I’m telling you that you will not regret it. Thank me later!
Paige Dalton: Family environment!! You move at your own pace but they push you to push yourself and that is so important!! I 100% recommend to anyone who is looking into a self defense class and to get in shape
Arnold DAmbrosio: Best gym in the city.
Rishabh Saxena: I have been training at KMD for four months, and I am totally in love with the system and also the instructors. The people attending the class are also very respectful and supportive as I get to learn from everyone around me. The instructors are very patient and generous to teach you the things and also work with you at a deeper level. By practicing this art, I have been able to make new friends at the school and this learning has given me a lot of inner confidence which is helping me to build my inner confidence. Thank You Pawel and Lisa for your efforts.
Marko S: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueIt's an awesome place, you will learn good technique, you will have good training and people are great there!!!
CArrow117: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualitySubash and Mallory were great instructors. Everyone from the instructors to the people taking the class were super nice and helpful. Coming in with no experience it was easy for me to to pick up and I look forward to coming to classes each week.
Bill Visnaw: What a great evening/event on 9-11 at Krav Maga in Troy, MI. Myself and 2 fellow firefighters have participated in the event on behalf of Troy Fire and hose down all the participants as they do their workouts. Owner Pawel is so motivating and knows how to push his class to get everyone to achieve their goals. We look forward to participating in this event every year and when you see all the smiles at the end of the evening, you can tell it was a tough challenging class but they are so happy of their accomplishments. We look forward to seeing you in 2021 on the 20th anniversary and look forward to a larger group of first responders supporting your event. Keep up the great work Pawel!!!
Karsten Lies: Great PT class with Ruth. Always have a great workout at KMD.
Donald Morris: Positive:Professionalism,ValueThe Instructors are encouraging ,supportive & knowledgeable.
Justin: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueSuch a great environment. Any level of person can walk in and become a better human.
Valene Ayar: Recently signed up. It is something I’ve wanted to do for a decade now. Already it has been one of the best things I have done for myself in a very long time. Great classes, incredible instructors, very warm members. I knew instantly that this was the thing I needed to begin getting my life back on track. Can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and the new hurdles and challenges that await me. After all, I do love a good challenge :)
J Mouton: A great gym for building your endurance, toning up, and most importantly learning to defend yourself aggressively and effectively.
Dave Levich: I've trained at this location for a number of years and love it. The staff is incredibly approachable, the instructors are very knowledgable about the martial art they teach and their schedule offers a diverse awry of classes at a wide variety of times. It sounds cliche, but the atmosphere really does feel more like a community of like-minded friends than a simple gym. I can't wait to get on the training floor.
Alexander Melidis: Truly an amazing and enriching experience. Welcoming environment, hands on teaching, and highly skilled staff makes KMD a must do for someone who is looking for practical self defense and a killer work out.

Allen Park Martial Arts Center: what do users think?
J Taylor: We enjoy the class and the instructors a lot. However, the lady at the front desk isn't very friendly and always has a rude look on her face. She always acts annoyed, like she's better than you. I understand kids need to behave, BUT there is a compassionate way and a mean way...she does NOT know me or my child and I don't appreciate the attitude. She is rude to me for no reason, not just my child when acting up. And before someone says I'm the only one with an issue with her, that's not what I've heard...just everyone is afraid to upset her. I like the classes, but I'm afraid I'm going to need to cancel soon as it's getting super uncomfortable every week. We are involved in a lot of activities and nobody is as rude to my kid as she is.
Robert Lutey: I have been taking Tae Kwon Do at APMAC since November of 2022. I did not have any prior martial arts experience. If you're short on time, I cannot recommend these folks enough. To begin the meat and potatoes of this review, I would first like to emphasize how welcoming everyone is. Both the instructors and fellow students and very encouraging and friendly. I was never made to feel out of place because of my lack of experience. Quite the opposite actually; they built me up!The classes themselves are structured well by the instructors. One day might be set aside for side kicks and another day for punches etc. The instructors do a great job of showing the moves in front of the class and ensuring that everyone is doing it properly. While the class I take (for adults) is rather large, I always feel like I have enough individual attention because they utilize three instructors (sometimes even four) per class.I have learned so much about Tae Kwon Do from my APMAC classes and have a ball going to them. I am currently a yellow belt working toward my first stripe. If you are on the fence, just do it. It is worth it in every way!
Bob Flisher: This is my first time (54yo) training in martial arts. The instructors are well-trained, super helpful, motivating, and patient. Everyone is very friendly! I’m really glad I called to sign up. I look forward to continuing my training @ APMAC. See for yourself!!
Nicole: APMAC has been so wonderful for my 6 year old. She has been playing karate ever since she was a toddler. After years of expressed interest, I finally registered her in a trial program. She's always so excited to earn that next stripe on her belt. I have no regrets about my decision to register her and APMAC has been so great that Im definitely keeping her in there after the trial period is over.
Sally Leedy: We tried this place after leaving another which I will not name but unfortunately the other place was not fit for my son. He is 7 years old and was stuck with others way past his age learning with them, here he learns with peers around his age. Which makes a big difference. They did not take the time like this place does with him. He was instantly comfortable here and calmer. The atmosphere here is so much more pleasant. I would highly recommend this place for beginners, especially those who get anxious or anxiety starting a new school/activity. He absolutely loves going. Unlike the other place, which he unfortunately cried every class and did not want to be there. He gets so excited when he knows it's karate day now. I'm so happy with the new transition that he has made here. Thanks to all the staff, they are so good with the students.
Lisa Rekuc: My daughter loves coming here! She looks forward to it every week.
pete pendleton: This place is great. Smaller class sizes so they can focus individually on the kids. Once a week they get a stripe for their belts which is something my red ninja always looks forward to. They are always doing something different each class while focusing on life lessons as well as practicing karate techniques. The little ninjas program has helped my 4 year old son break out of his shell and become a true “karate master.”
Andrew Britton: Amazing! Awesome! I have been attending APMAC for over 6 months, and it has been one of my best decisions in a long time. Reasonably-priced and world-class martial art instructors - right here in Downriver! If you need a fun & interesting way to become physically fit - go to APMAC! If you need a big boost in your personal confidence - go to APMAC! Some places in the Downriver area concentrate on money & their finances over their students (i.e., they are a business first and a martial arts school second). APMAC is the opposite; you can tell rather quickly that the instructors are legitimately concerned about your growth as a martial artist. Don’t waste another day - check out APMAC!!
Tony Lowry: Elissa here! I've left a review a while back, but want to really share that this martial arts center and all the instructors are wonderful. After 7 years of training hard my daughter just got her black belt. They have been there for her every step of the way and truly care about all of their students, their goals, and their well being. If you're looking for a tae Kwon do studio look no further, it is clean and the energy is always positive and the instructors are amazing.
Nina Liberati: Excellent classes and excellent instructors!
Austin David: I trained here years ago, probably 15+ years. And recently started training again. And I am so glad I did. The staff is as nice as they ever were, the classes are a fun, and intense work out. I am very glad I have returned, I just wish I had never left!
Robin Peterson: Drove 30 minutes away to try the kickboxing class they have not posted on their website anything about having to wear a mask during your workout when we get there it requires you to have a mask on to enter and during a full workout. no thanks not trying to pass out!!
Willaim Wright: Best martial arts school in the tri county area!
art wesserling III: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Value
Candace Dorland: APMAC is a very well run business with a professional, passionate, and genuinely kind and caring staff. My son has been taking classes there for almost 4 years and is always excited to go. All of the instructors and assistants are amazing; very knowledgeable and great role models for the kids. The program encompasses a combination of both technical skills and values and is one of the reasons I have been so impressed with the curriculum. Thank you APMAC staff for all you do, you are appreciated!
Cliffy Comstock: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI love this place! Everyone here is very kind and the teachers are all very professional. My mom, my brother, and I all go here for TKD and we all love it. It's the best way to spend a Tuesday and Thursday night.
Jimson Vedua: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat place to learn taekwondo because the instructors, owners, staff make it a great place to be. Been training here a couple of years or so. I highly recommend this center. You'll be glad to know that everyone's safety is the center's top priority. 5-star rating is not enough.
James Eggleton: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismI am very happy the way APMAC has handled the Covid issue and not one case reported out of the school. Everyone is so professional and friendly.
Denise Mendoza: After reading a 1 star review from a parent, I feel the need to write yet another review. My daughter has been an APMAC member for just about 4 years now. I am extremely pleased with my daughter's progress at APMAC. She absolutely loves the staff and the training she gets. There must be a reason why APMAC continues to receive the best school award year after year! During the shut down due to the pandemic, I saw other schools not complying with the rules and carrying on - business as usual. I commend APMAC for complying to keep all staff, members and parents safe. The staff/instructors are not only professional but kind and understanding. I completely agree and understand with their "Covid policy." Thank you APMAC!!!!!
Ashley Ridenour: My son started attending in October of 2020. Very please with this establishment and how they conduct business. They put their students first and as a mom, I am thankful for that.
Dawn Schwartz: I’ve been attending fitness kickboxing classes for about 3 years now. The classes are both challenging and fun and I find the exercises to be a very rewarding way of decompressing from the work day. The instructors are awesome and they engage with everyone to ensure proper technique in order to get the most out of the workout. I’ve noticed quite a difference in my shape and I get a great core workout which really helps to ease the lower back pain that flares up occasionally. Love this place!

Detroit Jiu-Jitsu Academy: what do users think?
Daniel Miller: DJJ has been a staple in the Southeast Michigan BJJ/MMA scene for some time. Really strong reputation throughout the Midwest with phenomenal adult and kids programs. I trained here for nearly five years after relocating for work, and had an excellent experience with the team. For beginners: the environment is welcoming with great instructors and zero pressure to compete/roll with folks above your skill level. I competed twice in five years and never felt pressure to do more than that (though competing is certainly encouraged). For advanced athletes: the gym is home to several current and former MMA fighters. Several of the guys have had fights in Bellator, One FC, and the UFC.For BJJ purists: several athletes have competed and performed well at IBJJF Worlds and the ADCC trials. You'll find really strong instruction and a jam-packed gym with tons of high-level talent to roll with. Really excellent experience training there.
Desi Reyes: My husband started training here about 2 years ago and has been BEGGING me to come try jiu-jitsu. As someone who has never done any sort of grappling, to say I was intimidated would be an understatement. Coach Danny and Coach Anthony were immediately welcoming and open to having someone as new as me in the gym to come train. The atmosphere and training environment cannot be matched. I’ve grown so much as a person and athlete since joining the DJJ family. There is no other place I want to continue my jiu-jitsu training except at DJJ. I’m grateful for this gym. I’m grateful for amazing coaches. I’m grateful for jiu-jitsu. ❤️
Cole Reed: Good gym
Mariarosa Phillips: All 3 of my boys come here, we’ve been with DJJ for 8 years. My oldest started at 5, he’s 13 now. This is where we started and this is where we will stay. Thanks to all the coaches here at DJJ.
Nay: I have 4 of my son's here and they all started at 5 years old. My oldest is now 13 and still going strong. I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Thanks Detroit Juijitsu for all of your hard work.
Demingus Coates: I came from another bjj school and I thought. My bjj was good so I thought.I got my butt handed to me, and it humbled me I didn't have any basics I didn't know anything I was a 3 stripe white belt from another school and was about to get my blue belt but found out I wasn't ready for my blue belt at all,and I was glad that I came to Detroit Jiu-jitsu Academy. Now I feel like I know and learning Jiu-jitsu thank you to all the staff and friends on working with me on my jiu-jitsu because before my jiu-jitsu sucked eggs 🥚 very bad thank you all again. I feel like I'm learning what I paid for.
MMAGamblingExpert: I started my grappling career at a very young age specifically folkstyle wrestling, transitioned to freestyle wrestling and thought I was invincible. I went to jiu jitsu gyms all across and was fairing well against theyre toughest guys. I can confidently say this is the #1 jiu-jitsu Academy I’ve ever been too. Professor Danny is a jiu-jitsu mastermind. I grappled with him once and he knew exactly what my weakness was. Everyone in there from white belt to black belt is legitimate. Khalil fadlallah is by far the best back taker in Michigan, I’ve taken personal classes with him and this guy is legit as they come. Highly recommend to anyone in the area to visit this gym. Actually for anyone who is serious about their jiu-jitsu journey. Love these guys soo much I’ve met some of the best people In there. Some of they’re purple belts would be black belts in 98% of other jiu-jitsu schools.
Juan Vazquez: Amazing academy ran by amazing people. Very highly skilled instructors and very welcoming atmosphere. Weather it’s Jiu jitsu or MMA I highly recommend DJJ and there other satellite locations .
G Lauren: Danny and the instructors care about each and every student. My 13 y/o started a year ago, and is also working toward his black belt in TKD. This is a learning curve for him as he has been learning a lot of kicking and striking for years now. He loves it and feels it gives him a greater advantage as far as self defense goes. It’s also a great workout, which I love…tires my kid right out because they work hard!
Dakota Anderson-Maul (Bop-It): The team here is always welcoming to new comers and others in the grappling community! If you compete they respect that by giving you complex rolls that you learn from.
Ryanm Gossett: Danny was very welcoming and pro cross-training. Anthony, who taught class has an admirable sense of humor and hospitality. They didn't charge me a mat fee, so I was also nice enough to buy a shirt and rashguard. Will definitely be back and be proud to rep the Detroit jiu-jitsu syndicate on my travels. Thanks guys!
Kingdom Builder: Awesome class! Professor Parker taught a great escape from the turtle position. Then got to roll with training partners at every level from white to black. I drove all the way from Arkansas to be here. Can't wait to come back when I can stay longer. Oss!
meadow Phillips: Started training here about 6 months ago after switching from another local gym. Best decision I ever made! Coach Danny and Coach Anthony REALLY care about their students and my Jiu Jitsu skills and knowledge have increased dramatically. DJJ for life!
Jarred Brooks: I’ve been to a lot of jiu jitsu gyms . This one is the best ! I’m a professional fighter have fought in ufc one pancrase rizin and Belator .
Toxic Skull Ranger: It’s a good place it helps you to fight good overall its good so yay bye
Abe Barlaskar: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI met the owner, Danny, at a competition a couple months ago. His students are professional, and he leads by example. He's a class act. Highly recommend him as an instructor and Detroit Jiu-Jitsu Academy for instruction.
Hysam Hammad: There are several reasons why you want this to be the school of choice for your BJJ needs; 1) The instructors are amazing. All of them are detailed in making sure you nail down the moves. The slightest move like having a thumb in a certain place will change your game. 2) the competition is very tough. You will never get better if you do not train with people that are better than you. DJJ has so many competitors all open to bettering their game. 3) Innovation. These guys are constantly chasing the newest innovations in the game. What worked yesterday might not work today, these guys are constantly upping that game. 4) the gym character is unsurpassed. These guys make learning jiu jitsu fun. Just check out some of the videos they put out. 5) The gym is just amazing. The mats are comfortable saving you from a ton of injuries that you don't need from practicing. Finally 6) the kids program is outstanding. My kids team usually dominate the tournaments and seeing each kid support the other is something that will translate into huge confidence for your kids.
craig odom: My son and I planned a trip to visit family in Detroit for Christmas 2021. I sent a email to Detroit Jiu-jitsu in November 2021, to see if they would let my 11 year old son train while we were in Detroit. They responded immediately, that they would love to host my son while visiting. When we first arrived to the gym, I was very impressed with how clean and organized the gym was. Coach Danny walked over to us and introduced himself, and took my son to the mat where the other kids were. After day one training was over one of the kids that my son rolled with came over to my son and shook his hand and said you are really good at jiu-jitsu. My son said that he likes the school, the kids and the coaches here. As a parent, that tells you alot about a school when your kid brags about it. I highly recommend Detroit jiu-jitsu to any parent that wants their kid to train in the sport of Jiu-jitsu. Thanks to coach Danny and staff for welcoming us with open arms. Awesome school.
Unknown Secret shopper: Positive:Quality
Nameer Hanna: The instructors and facility here are top notch. From start to finished I loved my experience at DJJ. Unfortunately had to move for work, and I will miss every second spent here. They hold you accountable and humble you, something we all need. I was new to jui jitsu when I joined and every instructor was willing to take extra time with me to ensure I understood what they were teaching. The sense of brotherhood between everyone involved is awesome too, everybody there wants to see their peers succeed and get better, which is hard to come by. I drove an hour each way just to be able to come here. If you’re looking to start jui jitsu or switch schools, look no further than DJJ.
Hamidul Islam: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueDefinitely one of the best bjj gyms in Michigan, friendly atmosphere and very welcome. Highly recommend.
