Donovan E: Birthday dinner 11/23/22 called for reservations. The lady that answered the phone indicated no reservation required, but please arrive before 8:30 p.m. we were only a mile away. Upon arrival we went directly to the host stand. We were escorted to a table which was far away from everyone else - we inquired why we were sitting away from everyone.The greeter became rude and indicated to be seated in the main part of the restaurant you needed a reservation. Huh wait !! we called 15 mins earlier and was told no reservation required. I requested a manager and after some spirited discussion we were seated at a table in the main part of the restaurant. The greeting/host staff should be replaced. They are rude, unprofessional, unapologetic with zero client skills.The waiter was nice, but slow slow slow- no dishes cleared after use. The entrées were just ok. The entertainment was excellent. What happened to the dress code ? I won't return and cannot recommend this spot

It’s all good but you just expect more for mandatory gratuity and dress code, expensive seafood spot. Waited on our drinks for too long. Average all around. Places like this that were hot in the 90’s need to step up their game. The dress code is ridiculous. If you wanna demand 5 star, then the food, service and decor need to be 5 and it’s a 3 at best.

Mark Pisani: Nice ambiance and good food. Not excellent though. There are steak houses in the northern metro area with better tasting food for $20 per meat slab. Anyway, turn is the 20% default gratuity. While the waitress deserved every cent of it, I feels like a forced tax.

Just walked up to the table didn't say anything and remove the plates right from in front of us? Mashed potatoes were cold had better steak at Texas Roadhouse way overpriced and definitely overhyped. Dennis Berger: Best seafood you will find anywhere, no exaggeration! My wife and I went for our anniversary celebration. The view of the Detroit River from almost anywhere you sit is delightful. Service was impeccable. We especially appreciated the elevation of the humble white bean to a delectable complimentary appetizer, a Joe Muer tradition. I had the halibut special which included a good size crab cake and a large scallop with vegetables and a delicious sauce. My wife had walleye, also great. Drinks were generous and the deserts amazing. It’s expensive but a good value for what you get.

We made our reservation by phone, spoke to a real person and was not informed of the restaurant policies. Once we arrived at the restaurant, we were unable to sit at our reserved table due to dress code. So we sat in a dark, unappealing lounge. I ordered the crab, I received ONE crab leg. One. Nothing came with the ONE crab leg. I was not offered anything nor was I informed that nothing came with the ONE crab leg. Prices were not posted on the menu and the waiter was unable to answer questions about the price or quantity of food. The ONE crab leg was $75.00 and then the restaurant added an automatic 20% tip. Wow! This was not a very nice experience. There are some poor business practices being implemented at this restaurant.

Lionell Carr: After a morning of fun riding scooters around the city with my wife, we decided grab lunch here. No stranger to Fishbones. I Ordered the sticky wings/fries, gumbo Yaya, and a few cocktails. The atmosphere was great, the bartenders were both awesome. Very knowledgeable, and very accommodating as well. (I'm in a wheelchair) they made sure I was comfortable and taken care of I appreciated that, and hopefully my tip demonstrated that.

A Warren: I ordered the hurricane drink and the chicken cajun pasta and both were delicious! My friends ordered the mussels but they were kinda mid for me.I like they they add gratuity for you (like a lot of restaurants in the area)... it's a meager 15%, but if you like to stiff your waiters, this isn't the place for you. Just stay home or go to McDonald's or something. Idk.

Woodie Anderson: My dinner here was great. The fried alligator was incredible. The orange roughy was perfect. The sides and special sauce so very tasty. My server was absolutely outstanding. The only issue is, I wanted to go back. The second night I tried there was an hour+ wait, long line. Ok, popular, no problem. The third visit there was no line but we were greeted what we all 3 felt was very rudely. While there was no line we were told they were full up. "No, no, no!". We were told 25 minutes or more, but the way we were told scratched this off the list. The 3 of us left and felt like we're just were not wanted there. Very disappointing.

Maddy Brooks: This is one of my favorite places to eat at and I always get great service but last night I tried to take my mom and boyfriend out to dinner around 9:20pm and both entrances were locked which was confusing considering they don’t close until 11. I called them 3 times and each time someone picked up the phone and then hung up. I’m extremely disappointed by that experience and I don’t know if I’ll be back or not.

We also never got bread like all the other tables and the waiter left us with empty glasses most of the night. After this first visit I wanted to give it another chance. 2nd visit was Post-pandemic 2023. Walked up there around 6pm and we didn’t have a reservation. There was a group event going on and we’re turned away, which was understandable. My fault. April 11, 2023 we went back up with a reservation. For some reason I don’t have good luck with host at Voyager. Maybe it’s a personal issue but they don’t make you feel very welcome. Anyways, Service was great. Oysters were good. The dinners we had were just alright. Salty again and for the price I would say was not worth it. I wanted this place to be great too because they have such a cool and intimate venue. 2 stars for the wait staff.

The waitress did say our food would arrive as it was prepared. The 1st plate dropped a full 15 mins before the final 3rd plate. This is unacceptable. There were 2 chefs working; they couldn't communicate the different items on the ticket to time delivery appropriately? The 2 top also had their food delivered at drastically different times. Never have I been served in such a manner, especially at a high end restaurant. Not going back. I'd prefer not to be embarrassed in front of my guests while we wait awkwardly for the entire table to be served.Update:We ordered entrees, and at no time was there an offer of receiving the food any other way than when it was ready.Our DNA does not match.

Nathan Sellers: This has been one of my favorite restaurants, basically the best that ferndale has to offer, but last night was not a very good experience. This is probably my tenth time going to Voyager, to put it in context.The tuna tartar was great, the oysters were great. But when we got to the main course both dishes were not very good. I had one of the specials, the trumpeter, and it was so overcooked that it was actually difficult to eat. The texture was both rubbery and tough, the fish flavorless. The hibachi grilled brocolini was served stone cold. Perhaps this was on purpose, but it took away from the dish.My girlfriend had the fish and chips, which is normally great. It, too, was overcooked. Dry, rubbery fish in an oil soaked shell. The chips are usually vinegar infused, but this time they were just caked in vinegar salt. She couldn't eat them. My salt tolerance is higher than average, in fact I have to be careful not to oversalt food when I cook because I like things much saltier than normal people. These were too salty for me to eat.As I said, I am a huge fan of Voyager in general. This was just a disappointing experience, especially given the high cost of the meal.

Ken Coulter: I went last weekend with my family for mother day. I had to put down a $125 deposit that was suppose to go towards my bill. It did not. I was then told I was going to be getting a refund for the $125, it has now been 7 days without refund nor reciept that one was issued. I have called everyday since Tuesday and each day I would get two young ladies who seemed very annoyed I was calling for my money. I was told that it was on the gm desk on Tuesday and Wednesday and still have not heard back from anyone. Between the rude hostess when we arrived, to the watered down drinks, and now this LCH has definitely lost my future business. I would just like to have my money back and move on.

Stop seating people so closely just so you can shove as many diners in as possible. This is authentic Mexican food NOT MCDONALDS and NOT a vegetarian restaurant. If you're gonna complain about what is on their menu and that you can't customize every little thing, then you should go order a burger from mcdonalds. This is a great restaurant that offers a one of a kind experience. I recommend "caldo de siete mares" (soup with; shrimp, prawns, clams, crab, tilapia, octopus and squid) I've never had a dining experience with all of these in one, and the meal was not expensive at all. Because if you go anywhere else and try to order all of those items, it will cost hundreds. 10/10 experience. would definitely recommend to everyone.
