Nora Detroit: what do users think?
Randy T. Enochs: Nora Detroit is one of my favorite shops in all of Detroit. If you’re ever looking for something amazing to add to your home or want an awesome, unique gift for someone, this is the place! Nora also makes an effort to support local artists and artisans, which I also love. The staff is also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
Peter Smirniotopoulos: I have been shopping Nora Modern online a year but finally got to shop in person Thursday morning (Nov. 3rd). WHAT A GREAT STORE!!! If you love DESIGN and unique, very well-made products for the home or just for you, THIS IS THE PLACE.
Jessica Noel: Nora is a lovely boutique with a great selection of fun beautiful products. Grayson was super helpful and accommodating, even remembering me the next day when I came back with a question! Great service, fun shop!
mary p: Perfectly curated selection and friendly helpful people.
Layla B: so minimalist and cute. looks like my pinterest boards threw up into a well lighted room (in the best way possible)
Nick Benuska: Very cool store that is perfectly curated. Associate was beyond helpful. If you’re in the area you have to stop in.
Andrew Holly: I ordered a book from their website in September 2020. After about 5 weeks, I hadn't received any update, despite being immediately charged for the purchase. They promptly responded and said the book would be sent out. Since that response from them on October 9th, I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone at the store despite multiple attempts. It's been three months, and my order hasn't been fulfilled, and they have gone radio silent. DO NOT PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER WITH THIS COMPANY.
Katherine O'Neil: What a beautiful neighboor boutique! I wander into Nora while walking down Cass Ave. It is a mix of jewlery and homewares. I found the items to all be stylish some a little modern for my taste but also found some great gift items. The employees were super hepful and helped me find a braclet and earnings that really suited my style.
Dayna Reed: Wonderfully curated shop with amazing team!
Miche H: Great little gift shop with beautiful options, something for everyone! Beautiful hand-dipped candles from Denmark, felted decor and gifts, cute little onesies for the baby, awesome cards and hand carved wood items. Definitely, if you're in the area stop in! You're sure to see something you're interested in.
Joann Arpino: Very cute shop in Detroit. Lovely unique items especially if you need to find a gift for someone and don’t know what to buy. I got a really great cookbook there with Detroit chefs. Very friendly. Fun place to stop.
Megan Wilcox: Cute store, definitely worth stopping by if you're looking for gift items. It is a little expensive for me on most things, but I still like stopping by when I'm in the area. Very modern and unique gift items.
Inverlea Jackson: Beautiful modern smalls....dishes, jewellery, stationary, perfume, candles. Exquisitely displayed...lovely helpful but non intrusive staff. Nestled amongst a row of other great modernist shops. Definitely worth a stop.
Travis Richardson: Neat home goods shop
S S: Super cool little shop! Staff is very friendly and helpful
Anwar Simon: Awesome store! Great selection of quality house hold items. Definitely a place to visit and pick up a few items.
Lisbet Sørensen: Awesome place to get upscale gifts for someone who already has everything they need.
Ying Li: Very nice gift shop
Kevin Chung: I love the selection of items here!
Paul Giampetroni: Exquisite handmade and bespoke home goods. Very unique items, friendly engaging staff.
Kathleen S: Beautifully curated gift shop. Full of unique jewelry pieces and home furnishings as well as some cute kid stuff.Reminds me of a mini museum store. I want to buy everything in here since everything is so modern and pretty (Check out those mobiles!) but most of it is out of my price range. Don't fret though as there are definitely some pieces scattered around that are more affordable ie. some beautiful glass vases for $28 or pretty Marimekko journals for under $10.Definitely worth a stop in if in the Midtown area. If you're in a shopping mood, go ahead and check out Hugh next door and City Bird, Nest, and Shinola a block away. This is a great shopping area if you're looking to buy some gifts for friends or yourself.

They have such a great selection of items to choose from and at such fair prices. I went to a few other stores (Detroit themed shops) and none of them compared. If you are in the market for Detroit or Michigan themed gifts or apparel, stop in! It will definitely be worth your time and $$!

Kirk Jopowicz: My hosts recommend this place for picking up Detroit swag and I am so glad I went. There’s so many great little shops on this block but City Bird was the tops. Unique, cute, quaint, bawdy and badass all at the same time. I loaded up and staggered out with T’s, cards, scarves, etc.

Detroit Antique & Props, Inc.: what do users think?
Gabriel Lyon: A Detroit gem, always interesting and unique items.
Megan Leon: lovely shop with older antique furniture items for remodels that you want to stay vintage. Lots of lovely sets of furniture for reasonable prices as well as plentiful stock for a variety to choose from. covid practices are enacted here with social distancing and face coverings
Sven-Erik Nyberg: I've perused this established gem on multiple occasions in recent months, and if you are looking for authentic Detroit-area industrial, vintage, and antique curiosities, you absolutely MUST make time for an extended visit to wander the labyrinthine two-floor warehouse. To be sure, the owners know the provenance and rarity of their inventory, thus the prices are not exactly a bargain, but if you are interested in purchasing enough, they may be willing to offer a nominal bundle discount.Be prepared to be overwhelmed by the inadequacy of both your budget and vehicular cargo capacity to accommodate the wealth of items you would wish to leave with. The mall is open only on Saturdays from noon until 5 PM, so it is a perfect addition to a trip to Eastern Market after the vendors there have wrapped up shop. When entering the building's main entrance fronting the Fischer Freeway service drive, remember to push the inner door open after being buzzed in, despite the knob suggesting a pull being required.I've included a picture of a spectacular teal enameled metal shelving unit I pined for during my last visit. If someone grabs it before I do, kudos to you, and I suggest you post your own review with a photo of its new disposition, should you happen by chance to be inspired to buy it due to this post's excessive verbosity!
Nicole Spurlock: Awesome place I'll be back
TheBigBandWolf: We came, we saw and we negotiated. This place is excellent for finding original pieces we need to aid our restoration of our 100 year old house. We'll definitely be back.
Lisa Zook: We stop by antique shops in all the cities we visit and this is a great one! Great finds, service, and reasonable prices.
Bryan Jones: Nice place very well sorted on items I do think that they are expensive but some items are worth it and some aren't
Ian Lambert: $23 for three rusty coat hooks! At first I wondered if the 2 was a $ sign!
Shannon Reed: Best antiques ever!!
Jamie Small: Largest antique store I've ever been to
Diane Sesko: I love this place and sad to see it close...will be on Facebook only
John M. Sier: Salt, they are closing this eclectic shop of ephemera, nostalgia and architecture.
daniel lefevre: Always a great experience and worth the visit as inventory is always changing and there is always something new and unique that you must have!
Beverly Slade: Very interesting place to visit.
Dylan: So many pieces of Detroit history
Jacqueline A: Excellent shop. I've been stopping in here for years. Vast selection. Couple items on my dream wish list. Highly recommend.
Bob Arnold: Interesting place for sure
Duane Gibbs: Best place in Detroit for historic home decor and such. They have EVERYTHING!!
Pat Walker: I really enjoyed looking through all the boxes and aisles, the staff was very knowledgeable. I can spend all day in a Antique shop.
Jeffrey Emerson: Not as good as it used to be. A lot of the stuff is very overpriced for what it is. Okay to visit once in a while.
Shan Weerasinghe: Got some MI plates old once. Good prices. If you like collecting stuff you will find it here.

Urbanum: what do users think?
Sara Wong: Friendly, welcoming staff. Great variety of high quality products. Beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit.
Kimberly Baines: This household goods store sells merchandise from a bygone era, with the emphasis on hospitality.
Kristen Cook: One of my favorite shops in Detroit!
Rose Connolly: A big selection of beautiful gifts and home decor!
Melissa: I guess I never put my review on google. A few months ago while Xmas shopping I came here with a friend after she saw some cards online she was interested in. The store is gorgeous with some unique items but the person I believe to be the owner was completely disrespectful. My friend elected not to buy the Xmas cards as they were over her budget and when buying something else, this woman had the audacity to ask her in a condescending tone; “oh did we not have enough cards for you?” And then went on this rant about how they’re hand printed etc as if we had insulted her. Some people aren’t rich, which you would know if you had any sort of social awareness about the neighborhood you’re setting up in. This isn’t Birmingham, it’s a developing area in Detroit and shaming people for how much they spend is NOT a good business plan. Respect goes a long way. Won’t be back.
colette nutton: Such a great store, full of terrific tchatckes and home goods. Stop in, check it out - you're sure to find something magical!
Plum Health DPC: A beautiful home goods store in New Center on Woodward with unique furniture and home goods as well as decorative accents. The team there is super friendly and helpful and I can’t wait to go back soon. There’s metered parking on Woodward Avenue right in front of the store that is easy to get in to.
Jason Ray: Really cool place! Very interesting items!
Mark dikowski: Wonderful selection. Always something new. Great events.
Jamie Judson: Ordered something for pickup and couldn't help myself from grabbing a few more items. Great shop, will be back!
Eric Jensenius (RockitFX): This is a great place to find unique furnishings & gifts. It's certainly one of my favorite shops in Detroit, and they always have new & interesting finds.
Monica DeSana: Urbanum is a rare treasure! Each time I have visited it’s like coming home. It is so beautifully decorated and I always leave with a special something I may not have found if I wasn’t drawn in by the thoughtful placement of every item! The staff and owners are truly warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in the front door. This beautiful home store is JUST the place to find thoughtful and unique gifts.
Maureen Kearns: Great merchandise for the high-end city home! The hand-embroidered Detroit pillow is to die for. The wooden puzzle map of Deteoit neighborhoods is excellent also.
Harold Gomez: This store is superb. The owner is super friendly and helpful. They also host a bunch of cool activities. The only warning is to be ready to spend your inheritance here, you will want to buy everything in the store :)
Kristen Conn: Lord I'm in trouble!!! 😂 This is my new favorite place! Aesthetically pleasing, with tons of eye candy, and at great prices! They had so many things I love, I barely got out with my bank account intact! 😂 The owner is super friendly & happy to explain the merchandise, where it came from, how it's made, etc. Overall pleasant experience, I will be back!
dark goddess tantra: Beautiful owner, beautiful store, beautiful fantasy!
Angela Ward: One of my favorite spots to find household treasures.
Katy Stringham: Great place! Very cute things. I want everything there.
Molly Augustine: What a treat! The owner is a delight. The selection is so unique and lovely. Go go go!
Justynn Yagiela: Cute store! Would stop back to see new season items. The store owner was there when we went- seemed very passionate.
Christopher Barbee: Beautiful decor and really high quality. Staff is very friendly.

POST: what do users think?
Elise Kendra: I’ve been to POST for two workshops now and I cannot recommend this place more. They have great workshops and great local artist shopping as well. Each month they come out with new workshops with local artist. From the instructions to actually working on the project is hands down easy and enjoyable. The local shop has amazing stationary and other local items to buy that are top quality as well.
Christina Mariani: I’ve loved every workshop I’ve attended here with different instructors. Great guidance and all my pieces have come out great. All the items in the shop are so fun and inspire creativity. Every time I leave I look forward to being back again.
Alex Maki: POST is a hidden gem located on Kercheval Avenue, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a unique shopping experience. The store features a wide variety of eclectic items, including homemade goods and super neat greeting cards. You'll find all sorts of interesting and unusual things here, and it's a great place to find gifts for that hard-to-shop-for person on your list. One of the things that sets POST apart from other stores is the fact that they host regularly-scheduled workshops where you can make your own personal items. Whether you're interested in learning how to knit, make soap, or create your own jewelry, there's a workshop for you. It's a fun and interactive way to learn a new skill and create something that's uniquely your own.The staff at POST are friendly and knowledgeable, and they're always happy to help you find what you're looking for. They're also great at suggesting unique gift ideas, so don't be afraid to ask for their advice. And if you're not able to visit the store in person, you can always shop online and have your items shipped to you.Overall, I highly recommend checking out POST if you're in the Detroit area. It's a hidden gem that's well worth discovering!
Matt Wendt: Amazing little shop and hobby center. Great staff. Fun projects to do. Great selection of gifts

julia targus: Awesome variety of creative workshops taught by local artisans. Very welcoming atmosphere all around!
LaVerne Reinhardt: Really enjoyed this workshop, had a lot of fun! Will be back! Staff was super friendly and helpful!
e e: Great space! The gift shop has a ton of artist items. Large space for classes.
Jenny Nguyen: the staff are so friendly and helpful and they have many special handmade items that are great for gifts! the only problem is you may end up buying more for yourself than you think...
Katherine Court: Absolutely amazing shop with a variety of artisan/homemade goods. Definitely a great place to buy presents for friends, family, and best of all....yourself!

Hugh: what do users think?
Nick Benuska: Very cool store that is perfectly curated. Associate was very helpful. If you’re in the area you have to stop in.
Dan Fisher: Great selection, really interesting and unusual pieces including antique modern. Really well curated, great taste.
Lee Padgett: We have been buying the coolest collection of bar glassware from Hugh for years. They always know what I buy for gifts. The buyer has amazing taste and finds crazy fun items. This is where I buy cool stuff.
Yousef Asiam Shuuja: Immediately on entering this establishment you are comfortable being a member of the male species, relax take it all in . A man 's man's adventure, excellent !
Jeff Rechten: I can always find something cool here and it's not too expensive.
Arthur Mitchell: Carefully and thougthfully created one-of-a-kind gifts and objects for the home. (And grooming items for yourself). Joe, the owner, has a great eye and talent for selecting things you just won't find anywhere else. The store is bright and open, and the staff is welcoming and friendly.
Biaohua Yu: Been here for few gifts for friends before. Staff is impeccable, more than willing to mix and match the scotch glasses I needed for a wedding once. Usually I hate shopping, normally I like going in and make my purchase as quickly as possible. But this shop is very welcoming and well curated, making you want to take the time to ogle every piece of merchandise. I'm not a man of refined taste, but with this store they do that work for you, truly a gem in Midtown Detroit.
Moira Fracassa: I bought a Gus Modern couch through Hugh and had a great experience. I was able to test one out before purchasing and the delivery was quick and professional.
Justin Craig: I've been carrying my drivers license and cards loose in my pocket for years. I don't like the bulk of a traditional wallet so I headed over to Hugh in search of a slim wallet. Not only did they have a slim wallet for myself but I was able to pick up a gift for my father.Great little shop with fun & unique items for myself and as gifts. I'll be back!
Chris Wheeler: Some people might appreciate art more than me, but there's a fine line between art and junk... I think you can get where I'm going from there. The only thing worth buying was a leather flask (wasn't even very good quality stitching) and some of the watches. In other words..... Spongebob S2E18b:Squidward: "How about this one? I call it Bold and Brash."Monty: "More like: Belongs in the Trash."
Annemarie Fernendez: I ordered a set of glass beer mugs and somehow they are probably somewhere. It's been 2 freakin weeks and I have received any call back after my last conversation with them. I already paid for that and I still dont have them with me! The worst ever!
Scott Adelson: Awesome selection of goods, great atmosphere, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Kathrine Svensgaard: Besides having a great selection of products, Hugh has amazing customer service! The product I purchased unfortunately malfunctioned and they sent me a replacement right away, no questions asked!
Anna Krol: Joe and his staff are the best thing ever to happen to the Cass Corridor. Love the store and the amazing customer service, the very best in Detroit, thank you.
Roy Lamphier: wish I could deck out my whole pad from Hugh
Golden Rules of Wine and Travel: It was at Hugh that my husband really got involved in our Detroit shopping excursion. The store is filled with gorgeous bottle openers, liquor glasses, men's accessories, bowls and styled seating areas. Joe Posch runs the shop and is super friendly, but not in that small-boutique-I-am-just-going-to-keep-talking-to-you-awkwardly-and-suggest-things-randomly kind of way. He very smoothly talked about the origin of the store (he won the Hatch Detroit Retail Idea Contest) WHILE he kept ringing us up and described where the items we were buying came from in a short sound bytes. In total, we ended up with a gift for my brother-in-law (which is awesome, but I can't write about it here because it is for his birthday in August- Hi Justin!), some items for my husband's desk, a glass footed bowl and a light green square Scandinavian dish. Hugh has online retail starting this week for those that need gifts for their brother-in-law's birthdays.

Kirkland's: what do users think?
Natalie Laskowski: I absolutely love Kirkland's. Great deals!
Ashley Braeckman: Price is ridiculous
Todd G: Very friendly staff.
M Singleton: I was just in the Allen Park store where I was served by a lady of Asian decent. She wasabrupt and owned and displayed a downright ugly disposition. Watch out for this _______.abruptAsseemingly Asian
Terri K: Always a pleasure to walk through & check out new decor trends & products. Well organized & stocked, very clean with helpful staff. Well located with lots of parking.
Israa Abdullah: The staff seem to be very racist. I had a very bad experience shopping there.
H Çiçek: Very unwelcoming staff! I Always loved shopping there but the last few time and especially yesterday the staff made me hate shopping there. They kept staring and mumbling and I overheard the man saying very disrespectful comments. They have no patience for customers, they don’t like seeing kids there or helping customers.
A N: The store is amazing, but the employees are very disrespectful and unwelcoming. The constant mumbling and weird looks made me feel very uncomfortable.
Suzette Honeycutt: 1st time there. Omg amazingggggggg!!!
Peggy Kotkiewicz: I have always enjoyed shopping here, the man at the counter is very nice and helpful, however there was a woman working and not only was she not welcoming but when asking a question it was horrible I can only wish her well if something may be going on in her life to make her like that. But she has altered our shopping there.
Debbie Clinansmith: I have shopped many Kirkland's across the states. I absolutely love the store and what they offer for decor. My experience today however was less than pleasurable at the Allen Park MI store. Was at at cash trying to ask about a print and the employees were too busy talking with one another and greeting people they knew who were entering the store. As a customer this wasn't appreciated and I found their answers...the one I got to be very rude and curt.
Scharlene Black: Very organized, the store was mesmerizing. The staffing was pleasant and willing to offer assistance. I recommend everyone to visit.
Jim Olds: Great store very helpful staff
Mary Bajjey: Beautiful things. It is the only place that I found couch pillows that I liked
Cheryl Deforrest: First time in the store and I absolutely loved it. I could browse around in there all day. So much to see. So many things I liked. Definitely going back. Staff were exceptionally nice.
Jenn Marie: Excellent home goods
Preston Abadie: Lots of stuff but their prices aren't the best.
Kel Green: Didn't buy anything but Kirklands is life.
Maria Negrete: Nice items but very pricey!
Andre Harris: Always a great atmosphere to shop. Great items also.
Hermie Bussie: I love beautiful decor but not much furniture. Other than that I will continue shop there.

Woodward Throwbacks: what do users think?
Dave Rademacher: Best place in the world.
Brad Lutz: Purchased a gorgeous dinner table from Woodward Throwbacks. The team is incredible, the shop is gorgeous and the reuse of materials will keep us coming back!
Alli Capper: I’ve found so many incredible, unique items from WT. Not only do they have one-of-a-kind local vintage pieces, they also do amazing large and small-scale reimagined salvage work. I’ve gotten everything from vintage 1950s golf prints, to reclaimed original Pewabic tiles, to old-world framed paintings. My son loves to look through their store and the staff is incredibly patient with his busy-ness and curiosity, always handing out stickers and asking if we need help! I’d highly recommend following them on Instagram (same name) to stay up-to-date on all their happenings and see an intimate look into their salvage, building, and creative process. If you’re a homeowner, or even just renting, I can’t recommend checking out this place enough. Hoping I can commission this team in the future to do an island for our kitchen!
Doug J: The web page said they were open, called to verify, the message on the phone said they were open, dove all the way down here... they were closed. Don't waste your time.
Alisha Washington: Amazing and patient with all our questions .
Brendan Seyka: My girlfriend and I have fawned over their projects on Instagram for a while now so we were super excited to check out the shop and it didn't disappoint! We spent a good chunk of time fawning over all of the amazing projects we wish we had the space for, and daydreaming about what we would put where in our future dream house, we'll definitely be back when that day comes! Owners are also super friendly cool people!
kim dietzel: Love this shop!
Hanna Nall: What a place! Woodward Throwbacks is the spot for the coolest reclaimed pieces. Super friendly staff, always helpful with whatever project we're working on. And I love a shop dog, Ginger is the best : )
Lisa Zook: Great spot! I love the pieces they have salvaged and their attention to detail in their design. Very excited to see how the company evolves and continues to create in coming years!
Lise Hanley: The love is real for this company. :)
Peter Carver: Cool spot

William S McDonald: Great place with lots of cool stuff!

Sophie Crash: I heard wonderful things about this shop from friends who live in Detroit. I was excited to visit and hopefully get something local as a souvenir. Unfortunately when we arrived the shop was closed and boarded up. I didn't get further information, ended up going to some generic shop.
Jerry Smutylo: On 5/19/19 Jesse and Tom hosted a fabulous tour of a variety of locations for our photo shoot. They answered everyone's questions and were an encyclopedia of knowledge of the history about Detroit. We felt safe during our trip and would do it again in the future. Thanks Jesse & Tom, you made it an unforgettable event!!
P T: Awesome collection of art and artifacts
Patrick Fitzgerald: This is a cool store that’s well worth a visit!
Susan Ward: Friendly owner. Shop features local items. Great for gifts. Nostalgia.
