We were able to go around 4:00pm which was the time when there were less people, and to be honest it was the best. If you wish to utilize the place for great pictures as well, make sure you either go super early or super late. All in all, amazing touristy thing to do.

DuMouchelles: what do users think?
Mark Rowe: I set up an account to do some bidding on a sculpture I wanted a couple days before the auction. I had to call in a couple of times with questions about the procedure and buying process. Ryan was very helpful with setting up my account and walking me through the process! Thank you guys for your outstanding customer service and I look forward to doing business with you in the future!
Andrew Hanus: I absolutely love this place. They are very knowledgeable in art and collectibles. From purchasing to selling Bob is my guy!! Highly recommend!
Divonne Jackson: I went in last Saturday to get a free appraisal of a painting. The man who buzzed me in looked at my item and said he thought it was a Pascal. He offered me $50. I asked for a second opinion. A woman said it was a print. The man then offered me $10. I accepted $20. Since then I feel like he swindled me. I was nervous and forgot they were supposed to give me a free appraisal. I am filled with regret for selling it so cheap. I thought they were a classy place but it seems this man was only out to take advantage.
Mekkel Richards: This place is a treasure trove. You will find what you didn't know you needed.
Sydney Pasquinelli: Great experience buying furniture from DuMouchelles. I got a good deal and was able to conveniently pick up the furniture on my own schedule as long as it was within 10 days. They were friendly when I picked it up.
Wood Saw: Wonderful place extraordinary item's
Betsy Voshel: Working with Joe Walker at DuMouchelles has been a wonderful experience. He genuinely cared about the piece I was wanting to consign with them and was quick to recognize its value as a family heirloom. I appreciated his quick responses to my inquiries and the time he took explaining the process etc. We did visit the gallery and highly recommend you make a stop there as it is an incredible place!
Nathalie Demirdjian-Rivest: Family-run auction house with fairly priced, beautiful pieces from modern to 18th century art and decor. It was our first time bidding at an auction, and the owner and his whole staff were so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. They were also exceptionally accommodating about shipping/pickups. We’ve bid by phone, online and in person at the past two auctions and traveled up from out of state because the experience here has been unbeatable. Our purchases have been modest and we’ve still received the kindest treatment. Highly recommend.
Sheldon Edelstein: My wife and I have been frequenting this auction house for about a decade. We have purchased numerous items and have bid in person, on-line, and via telephone. We have mostly been happy with the experience (you don't win every item you might want) and the opportunity to shop through an ever changing variety of art, furniture, and jewelry. I have always felt I was treated as valued customer. I have read several negative comments and I conclude that everyone needs to be beware that auctions are competitive and there are fees involved that need to be taken into account before deciding on any bid. But for my wife and me, we love the place and will continue to attend their previews and place bids on their unique offerings.
Karen Schmart: Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
john bruno: Placed a bid through Liveauctioneers and I was the high bidder. But when it came time for the item to sell online, the auction skipped my item completely and went to the next item. Then it said my item sold for the same amount that I'd bid earlier that morning, but that I was not the winner. Spoke with a woman on the phone minutes later. Her excuses were laughable. My Liveauctioneers bid was ignored. A waste of time.
My Dog Blaze: Completely unresponsive to emails. I reached out on multiple occasions and received no response whatsoever.
Nicholas Paul: I wish I could be as happy as some of the below posters. But see I'm a seller. Been charged 35% (that's on top of the buyer premium - 60% odd in total) and now no one will respond to my emails when I've asked why so much????So I'm sad and if you're looking to sell through them be very careful.....
Cathy Loniewski Girdler: I needed an appraisal on several pieces of art. Joe Walker was knowledgeable and responsive with the details that I needed. DuMouchelles was so very helpful. So pleased I reached out to them.
branger claire: WORST auction house ever! Liar and thief. I bought a Hermès bag for $10,000, and I received a fake. I tried to communicate, they never answered me. I returned the bag, they never refunded me. So unprofessional! Unable to authenticate, and unable to own up to their mistakes. TO AVOID !!!!
june bhattarai: Never had a worse experience at any gallery before. had previously emailed dumouchelles about pieces I had for consignment and they told me to come in. we go into the gallery and an old woman quickly glances over my pieces, doesn’t look at signatures or editions or anything and immediately tells me none of them are worth anything and walks away. I’m left standing at the register alone and i haven’t been in the gallery for longer than 3 minutes at this point. overall this is a terrible gallery/auction house run by a bunch of old people who'd rather go back to eating their lunch than do their job. amateur auction house for those who know nothing about art.
Martin Walsh: In seeking evaluation of two early Dutch paintings I had recently acquired, I was very cordially welcomed by the DuMouchelles staff on a recent Saturday open appraisal. The research team of Joe Walker and James Flannery tackled my pieces with great enthusiasm, expertise, and good humor. Joe's running commentary was particularly instructive. I learned a great deal from observing the appraisal process and was gratified to hear that my pieces were likely of the age I had assumed them to be. All in all a very positive and enjoyable experience.
Marc M: I have never had a bad experience buying or selling from Dumoshell‘s auction House. Staff is phenomenal and I don’t have the names of all the people who have been helpful but from unloading my vehicle to getting a quick parking spot that’s safe to just being handled over the phone and in person. This place is a Jim in the heart of our wonderful city. In particular Anne-Marie sent my young children their auction listing so that they could have a tangible item while they watched our auction progress. She offered to do this because I’m trying to teach them a little bit of business in the auction in art world in her effort is going to make my kids feel extra special. Great company honest people a wonderful store to visit.
Cindy Anderson: I absolutely enjoyed working with this company. Excellent people they know their business! And I plan to do business with them in the future
Hugh Pickens: Your live auction platform is awful. I registered for your live auction that took place on March 25 to bid on Lot 1044 by Donald De Lue. I repeatedly placed a bid on this item and it did not register or go through even after I pressed the button to confirm the bid. The item went for $10,000 while I repeatedly placed a bid of $11,000 and was willing to go much higher.I am very disappointed wih your platform.
Ahmed Issawi: I went to this place with some art work from my mothers Estate, going in I was really intimidated. But once I met Joe, everything was amazing, he set my mind at ease. He was professional and caring, and was willing to help as well as guide me with the art that I had. I would definitely recommend this place.

Nancy McDonnell: Attended a wedding there. A lovely garden ceremony.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry Free …More
Jack Hoyle (Jack Hoyle Photography): The Scarab Club is easily one of my favourite event spaces to work in. Not only is it steeped in history, but the spaces they have are beautiful and unique. The staff are also really helpful and super friendly. I look forward to coming back.
The Original Motor City Ghost Hunters: Absolutely love it here
Jason Jones: I went to the cold water kitchen event. The Staff was great and that and love the garden outside.!
John Voymas: Artists club founded in 1907. Unique historic building with multiple galleries, classes, music events. Has artist studios on the third floor. A must visit!
TIFFANY MCCABE (Detroit Duchess): The scarab Club has been around for many years and is wonderful tribute to art and culture within the community. If you’re ever in the Museum District The, sure to check those hidden gem out.
Jason Gibbs: This is a cool historic resource for the art community in Detroit. They host a wide variety of art related events and show throughout the year.
Michal McConville: Planned an evening event with Scarab Club. My contact person was Judy who was incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive! The event was perfect. Could not have been a better experience. Thank you!!
Moraine Chef: Cool place.
dave johnson: We pulled up to see the Scarab Club exhibits and immediately was confronted by a woman in the parking lot in a hostile manner. She asked if we were members, and she demanded to know why we were there. We answered we wanted to see the exhibit. She said "what exhibit"? We said the Scarab Club exhibits. Then she said there was a private event starting soon. She was not welcoming at all and wanted to make sure we left before the "important" people got there, not us rif raf. Her attitude was just awful. She identified herself as events manager, so we can only assume her name is Judy, by looking at the website. We won't be attending any of her events any time soon, if that's how she welcomes people to the Scarab Club.
P. M.: Dangerous steps rugs and unorganized. Just attended a wedding there. They didn't start setting up until guests were arriving. Ran around like they have never catered before. Do not use this place for an event. Rugs that tripped people dark stair cases. We had a guest fall from not being able to see the stairs. They had promised to light the stairs, but they also said they do this all the time! I would never recommend this for any event unless you are willing to accept inferior service and a dangerous building. Not impressed at all by this place.
Afford Coleman: Birthday party
Cecelia Rose LaPointe: Indigenous, Native American and First Nations erasure is not cool in art and competitions.
Pamela Smith: I only went there to clean my client's loft! Great view!
Ralph Perez: One of my favorite places to visit in Detroit. Amazing atmosphere, incredible art & history, and great people! I highly recommend you visit anytime you are in Detroit.
Nathaniel Janick: Though the gallery was small compared to the DIA across the street, the exhibit was excellently curated. The building and grounds are an exhibit in themselves. Worth a visit.
Geno Harris: This is a wonderfully creative space that showcases local Detroit Artists.
james spencer: Very cool history and overall environment
Adam Mitchell: Great place for the art community!
deidra stewart: Enjoyed the Black Woman Exhibition
Charese “Amazing Kinkz” Howard: Great place. Great Art exhibit today!
