Tonlia Johnson: This school has traffic issues that they blatantly ignore and it causes major traffic issues. The staff is extremely rude and ignore people who come inside for help and they ignore problems that can be resoved if they just cared enough to do their jobs.

THIS SCHOOL STILL IS TERRIBLE. they FORCE your kids to stay in an after school program for their behavior if they had issues with being tardy or behavior. if you don’t go they make you go to the board and get on a contract. ms.giles lies to your parents. she told me one thing and told my mom another. and i’m sick of the shenanigans at this school. and if you’re looking to get your kid if sports THIS IS NOT THE SCHOOL FOR THEM! all they have is basketball, football, track and cheerleading for high school.

Hey Hey: This school is terrible. There is a lot of bullies. The teachers don’t teach, they walk out. The teaches are ALWAYS on their phone, and they even cuss at the children. This school needs to be shut down for good. Only good teacher is Ms.Crowl!

dor steeples: This school has an educator named April Latrice Maxwell-Jones who assaulted my niece with a screwdriver and her 5 year old son that needs to to be brought to justice. Apparently she thinks she is above the law.She also has committed fraud/left along with her daughter Lauren Ammini Maxwell-Payne AKA Lauren A Jones and her husband DeAndre Antwan Payne who both are known criminals by lying to local authorities regarding my nieces vehicle. This educator verbalized she knew one the officers who ordered my niece to relinquish keys to her vehicle or face arrest and her kids going into child protective custody.They stole my nieces's vehicle by lying to the local Police Department stating the car belonged to Lauren while one of their family members recorded this ordeal. (see picture of car my niece purchased 2 years ago)This so called educator did this and thinks she is going to get away with it!!

Alonzo Jones: Its honestly not the best, but it definitely gives you a challenge. They have this program called the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program that starts in 11th-12th grade, which will exceed the expectation of how good or bad college will be for you. You don't have to be the smartest nor do you have to be the most outgoing. Its about how you think and how you interact with other people. This program is for people who want to develop skills that pushes you to seek knowledge and further your education. --- "The elephant has always been there, it changes color, shape and size every minute."

But if u want to go to a school with middle students that fight everyday at lunch or sometimes after thr lunch bell rings then go right ahead.Im actually enjoying the school because of all the drama i love drama schools like southwestern. Every thing is going quiet well so far who knows what might happen in the next month or two.
Nicholas Counelis: I go to Southwestern and i have to say, it was a good school, but then Flint schools closed McKinley and Homes now Southwestern, Northern, and Northwestern are the only Middle/High schools in the Flint School district. The staff are rude, and security treat you like a suspect. If you like to be searched everyday, and like having hallways crowded so bad it looks like times square on New Years Eve then this is where you want to go for school. plus the books are over 10 years old and are very out of date.

Jose Snow: Excellent place for your children to study. My daughter recently studied there in the first grade with Mrs. Nichols who was one of the best teachers I have ever met in my life because she did a great job teaching with Lahia, not just teaching academic if not success teachings for life which my daughter applies at home.

Michael Hayes: This school have different rules that i feel it not fair. My grandson got kick out of school and the other student didn't. My daughter want to have a sit down with the parents, but they said they can't do that. My grandson had this same problem last year with the same student and we are and we try to get to the bottom of the problem.

Katie Jones: The New Standard Academy provides many opportunities for children to advance their education. These teachers focus on their students as an individual which ensures long lasting knowledge for every student. They are willing to go the extra mile both with the normal course of study but also with life skills that are important outside the classroom. Helping students understand the value of their education can be life changing. I am proud we have such a wonderful school right here in Flint.We are so lucky to have stumbled across Mrs. Nowakowski. We will forever appreciate her compassion and education. When our young child was falling behind, Mrs. Nowakowski was able to give us suggestions on HOW to help our child learn on a level that she understood. I can never repay her for the knowledge she has shared to help our child succeed. Any student would be lucky to have her as their teacher. Mrs. Nowakowski will always go above and beyond because she truly wants every student to get the best education possible.
Michelle Essix: The New Standard is a school that cares about not only academic growth of students, but their social and emotional growth as well. I have worked at several other schools and can honestly say it would be hard to find a school with teachers who care more about the overall well-being of their students than those at The New Standard.

Teshawn Willis: Since I’ve last been on this website 4 monthly ago I have been back at Richfield Public School academy for the start of my 8th year of middle school not a lot of things have changed. But I am still gonna give this school a 2 star rating because all of the former 7th grade students have received most of there freedom back and the school now receives pizza every Monday. Evan tho I appreciate the amount of freedom we now have there are still so many awful things about this school.Like the other 4 days of intoxicating food and the continuation of disrespectful staff and students. I would not recommend this school to anyone especially disabled kids due to the amount of bullying that goes on.I also wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone who doesn’t have lunch prepared for them everyday because of how disgusting the lunch the school provides to anyone who doesn’t have a lunch prepared.-Teshawn Willis

The school is not that organized but they are getting better & improving everyday... As a kid going to the school I didn't like it but now that I have passed on to a new school... I see how good the school was to me! Amazing school & would recommend to any parent ... It will be a lot of hard times ... There will be some amazing staff to help you back on your feet !!

Tarisha Young: I live nearby and each morning due to the poor setup of the driveway for student drop-off the bus drivers sit out there and lay on their horns trying to get parents to move out of the way. As a "neighbor" to this school who works 2nd shift, I'm woken up almost daily because of this practice and not only is it annoying, it's extremely disrespectful to the surrounding homeowners. This needs to be addressed in some way whether that be better planning for drop-off which is discussed with the parents or a redesign of the driveway area.
