De'Lynn Braetto: Sunset Hills Cemetery is a very nice established place to bury loved ones BUT..... I was out there a few days back trying to locate my loved ones and came across a laborer as I'm not sure what his exact title was. Trying to lower a casket in the ground. This laborer was alone with no other workers to assist him he was using a pry bar ?? This was really devastating to me and he could not get the casket to go down and he kept prying on it till it did. I know workers are in short demand but this is terrible and a site I will never forget!!!!The casket was wobbling back and forth and was beautiful I'm not sure where the funeral home people were?Then I went to the office and had the worst customer service ever!!! This cemetery used to be so professional. My family was treated awful by the staff working there and when we left they were laughing I saw them as they had their office window open? This is just awful due to the fact people have lost their loved ones and trust them to this cemetery? I'm still trying to understand all of this that happened. .It's something you read or hear about in a horrible news or horror flick.Think twice!!!

Amy Reese: Very nice and large. I almost got lost in there.
Terry Miller: It's to bad they can't get the gates fixed or possibly keep a worker over to patrol for an extra hour. Some people can't be there before 5 to maintain flowers on their loved ones grave. So penalize a lot of folks instead. Just rotate it among workers. One hour a day isn't going to break you.I know it's a shame people decide to party there. Fixing the gates would solve that.
Stephanie McKenna: Absolutely beautiful cemetery. I have family that I visit and upkeep gravesites in several cemeteries, and this one is by far the best. Always kept up beautifully. I love that you offer plastic vases to put flowers out at the gravesites, and have water spouts throughout the cemetery. Thank you!

Tina Ball: Terrible customer service. Not helpful at all. I've been to this place on different occasions with my sister. They would not help her find her husband's plot. She called to let them know she would be coming and they told her someone would be able to take her to the plot. When she got there, she was told to look for the ground keepers. She did not see them so she called back to the office and Mary said they are going on a break. Sunset Hills, you have the wrong type of people working for you.
James Newkirk: Beautiful, peaceful and well kept. The only problem throughout most of the cemetery all they allow are headstone that lay flat on the ground. They do have a section the will allow monuments but you must buy 5 plots. If all you need is one plot that's too bad. If they allowed monuments I would buy a plot there because it is just so well kept and peaceful.

Sherry Mcintyre: Peaceful cemetery. They have such Life Like figures as you drive thru that you have to stop and take a second look.
Michael Donegan: This is a beautiful and serene cemetary. We ride bikes past this point frequently and often stop here for reflection. It is very well-maintained.

Angela Brown: We visited Glenwood Cemetery today as we were on a biking history tour. This cemetery is full of rich history and many of the well known and famous people of Flint, Michigan such as, C.S. Mott, Fenton, Bridgman, Hemphill and even Harry Potter are buried here. Well, not the Harry Potter from the movies. There are various types of headstones , different architecture styles and cemetery structures such as Egyptian, Greek and Gothic if you know what to look for as well as, white bronze headstones. Make sure to visit the headstone, monument and tribute to the Michigan School of the Deaf. There is also an eagle’s nest located in the trees, but I won’t say where to protect the nest. The cemetery is paved and is pleasant to walk through although the terrain is a bit hilly. This cemetery is well worth exploring.

Karl VanHorn: Very well maintained cemetery for how old the plots are and the history of flint that buried within its property lines. If you love old cemeteries this is a must stop for your list. A+++ for the care but need a few to stones fixed and stood back upright and wouldn’t be hard to do with the right equipment

Lorelei DuBois: One of my favorite places in Flint. The people that created Flint are interred here, even the man that built my home! It's quiet, serene and green, except of course in Autumn. Then it's spectacular! EDIT HERE: Apparently I am mistaken about the "Founders of Flint" being interred here. The markers are apparently cenotaphs of Jacob Smith, and his local progeny and In-Laws. The folk that ARE THERE are the industrialists, business owners and bankers (Mott, and some of his progeny is the star here) unless they are just memorialized here and buried elsewhere, of which of course I have no personal proof, as I was not the undertaker, nor the sextant of any of those burials/interments.
Ryon Graves: The most historic and beautiful cemetery we have in the area. Although it's not the oldest, and the area's founders are NOT Interred here. The founders are buried in Avondale Cemetery on Chavez. There is actually a Founders Row of tombstones. People are destroying and defacing our cemeteries and we need to stop it. A lot of Masonic graves, and deep rooted symbolism all over this cemetery.
Joel Kubicki, Jr.: Nice and quiet cemetery. Plenty of history and well-kept.
Michael Donegan: I've never reviewed a cemetery before but we love to walk and bike through here frequently because it is beautiful and peaceful, especially in the Autumn. So serene. Some very old graves here so it's a nice spot to reflect on history.

Jamie Woodcock: My grandmother Mildred LaBombard was my best friend and my idol in life and she was buried here in 1989 she was born in Czechoslovakia and raised in Nebraska and catholic although I am not catholic I am a firm believer in God and jesus christ as was my grandma I miss her so much all the time, I used to make the headstones for this Cemetery and Fenton memorials for 5 years there are alot of stones in here I would like to see, hopefully I'll be able to find my grandmother's resting place
Holly Kaczmarczyk: This use to be NUMBER ONE cemetery for many many years, but now it's disappointing to see that grass needs to be tended to more then they do. I have my parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles resting in their plots. And for yearsCrosses, flowers, angels and any kind of do dad I put on grave sights are gone. I weedwhack around gravestone so you don't have to run lawn mower but that's not good enough, you still take my family's little treasures I leave.

Anita Fenton: I am a neighbor of this cemetery. They take great care of the property. Wish I had a phone number to them so they would know someone is taking screws off of the iron fence on the Plainfield Ave side close to branch road. Fix it before they take the fence
Chris Mushall: It's a Cemetery what can I say. People are dying to get in. The grounds are maintained by the families and the membership. It's always been a peaceful place for me and a time to reflect and share the stories of my ancestors plight to safety during the Assyrian Christian genocide of the 20 th century.

Thomas Pickett: The staff at Gracelawn Cemetery was very helpful in finding my grandfather's grave as it's probably been 43 years since anyone has visited and cared for it.The guys personally came out and looked in the rain and help uncover the marker.The flush grave marker was totally covered over with dirt and grass.I totally appreciate the help and I felt bad for tracking mud into their restroom. It was a rainy day.Thanks again. 😊

Sarahhh: Ugh, the energy this place caries is historically haunting. While you're driving through, have someone read the website. There's so many well-known founders and builders buried in those grounds that you never knew were there. 5 stars to this cemetary.

Vernon Coleman: The grounds are nice, many trees, headstones are not too close together, and well kept grass. However, the office is not fitting for the sometimes private conversations that need to be held, and we had to wait well over an hour and a half just to have the contract written. If this is the treatment when we are planning ahead, I don't want to know how hard it must be for mourning famlies.
