Micayla: Ive been with PFCU long before they were PFCU. They always answer my calls with a helpful tone and willingness to assist. Ive yet to have a bad experience with them. I recently contacted a loan agent and Dawn went above and beyond helping me. She was not only super nice and funny, but she also took the time to explain to me what I didn't understand and answer any questions without hesitation. Even though I live in PA now, I'm still going to stick with PFCU in Corunna/Durand/Flint MI as my credit union because of the amazing customer support and low interest deals.

I deposited 8000 and they gave me a receipt for my 8000 after counting it twice in front of me, the first time they tried saying there was only 7720 and I told them to count it again. and after counting it again admitting that there was 8000 and stated they made a mistake the first time counting it to later withdrawing 100 from my account and now they are saying a third person counted it and I only deposited 7900. Be ware I will be contacting the proper authorities.

Many locations to serve their members, live teller ATM, live chat feature on the app, mobile banking and the best point system to redeem for gift cards or other needs. Elga also has very low rates for overdraft and their team members are the very BEST. Also, I would like to point out that Elga really has my back! One time I did something very out of the ordinary and my card was very temporarily turned off. I immediately received a call or text I'm not sure which, but I was put on the phone with someone from Elga. I verified myself and while it could be seen as an inconvenience to some, it took literally under about 7 minutes from the time I was trying to use my card until I spoke to a rep and had it turned back on. That really made me feel good that my money is safe! I've NEVER had a financial institution do anything like that and I was glad they did! Especially since it was cleared up immediately. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Elga and I highly suggest them to everyone. Also, I like that because Elga is a credit union, members have a say in what goes on. Couldn't be happier, been with them for years!

K Kirk: Consistently this bank has fallen short of providing service(s) that is expected. Multiple times people (as well as myself) showed up to a branch only to find out they are closed (but it’s not updated on the website, phone message or left on the door). As well as attempting to get them to complete paperwork (ie. Loan Payoff Notice) doesn’t proactively get completed and when requested it took 3 different people promising to complete it before I finally received it. There have been multiple other issues as welll. Overall it’s been a bad experience ant Sovita and, I recommend if looking for a Credit Union, then look elsewhere.

Mike Sims: I have been banking with Sovita (or FASECU as it used to be) for 45 years, my parents were teachers and signed me up as a kid. I have lived out of state for almost two decades, and I have never had the slightest interest in ever changing my financial institution. With online banking and ATMs, there is no need, and when I have compared them to local CUs I always feel like SOVITA is giving a better deal. They have treated my whole family great for decades.

Jason Sprague: Sovita Credit Union is the best bank I have ever been with. They have excellent customer service, are extremely polite, very knowledgeable and I like they stay open later during the week. Everytime I have screwed up and made mistake on my checking they covered with overdraft for way cheaper fee than any other bank I've been with. I have been with them for years and have never had a mistake with any of my deposits or any type of banking errors, other banks I have been with would screw up all the time. The only drawback is you must be an employee of a local school district or be a relative of a school employee to join. I'm not sure if there is any other ways to join but I definitely recommend Sovita.

Jay Godfrey: Best credit union I could ask for. The app is very easy to use and when they suspect fraudulent charges they get a hold of you as soon as it happens. Would recommend anyone who wants a great banking experience to use financial plus.

I requested not to use the video teller machine due to the amount of money and not being comfortable doing it out in the open for anyone to see. I was told they would not do that fir my privacy and I had to use the video teller. I had just done it privately the previous week so I already know they can do it. I end up leaving the video teller with a 6 Inch high stack of cash in my hand. No bag. No privacy. I let the lady know at the desk that it was unacceptable and she could not have cared less. They don't care about their customers safety or concerns and it was made very clear today. 7-9-2022 @ 11:20am on corunna and dye rd branch.

holly passmore: Incredibly rude. After two years of on time (rather large) payments I asked to refinance to lower my monthly payment and was scoffed at and asked "why? Can't you afford it?"Now today, after three years of not one missing or late payment on a $400 a month vehicle loan, i applied for another vehicle loan and was turned down even with a cosigner with great credit. Don't waste your time with these rude ignorant people. I will say, I spoke with a Zach who was very helpful and respectful but he's the only one in three years that's been decent. Go elsewhere with your money folks✌

THESE GUYS ARE 10 DOLLARS CHEAPER THAN PNC. NOW TO DO PERSONAL BANKING YOU GET TO SEE THE REPS AND I MET TWO THAT WERE FRIENDLY. I ALSO LIKE THE FACT THAT THEY CAN WORK ON YOUR BUSINESS THERE AT THE MOMENT. UNLIKE CHASE THAT HAS A FLOATING INVESTMENT GUY. THEIR REGULAR BANKING INSIDE IS THE SAME AS IF YOU WERE GOING THROUGH A DRIVE THROUGH. MIGHT AS WELL STAY IN THE CAR FOR THOSE TYPE OF TRANSACTION. NO INSIDE REPS ON SATURDAYS. Brenda Bennett: I've been a member since the place was West Side Auto Credit Union. As long time, good standing member I would like to warn everyone of their current practices. I never had an issue until I started any significant banking (IRA and mortgage). Ever since, they have done everything they can to get me to default on my home loan because they are trying to take over my property. A local developer is wanting to buy out my area, and they know this. They tried keeping my insurance claim money to fix the house after a storm! (Trying to get a default on the mortgage). They gave me a hard time only AFTER they took the home loan over. I thought I would save money and the headache of dealing with a national mortgager but boy was I wrong! They are in cahoots with my insurance company and also had the insurance company attempt to take away my house insurance. Well now they are withdrawing money from one of my accounts that I did not authorize. It never stops with these people. Do not get a mortgage with them. Ever since they realized how much my land is worth they've been doing everything imaginable to get me out of my home. Most people would have given up. But I am stubborn and persistent. Guess what Financial Plus...even if I were about to default on my home I'd sell it from right under you. It's not your place to be pushing people out of their homes. Especially someone who works as hard as I do. I have 2 Master degrees, and own a small business. I'm not dumb. 😉Update- conveniently after my original post I had to call in to sign into online banking. It had just worked in the morning. Coincidence?

Troy Stevens: Security CU double charged me for a fee, charged my security savings account AND my dort federal account, when I went into a branch, the manager was extremely rude right away, refusing to listen to my wife, putting his hand in her face and refusing to even listen to what I was explaining to his employees. Refused to look at my evidence where it clearly shows and proves I was double charged from security cu. Had to call the police on the branch manager because he was refusing to listen to me about MY money that they took twice, being rude to my wife and refusing me service when I have a loan thru them which I am now late on because of all of this. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SECURITY CU.

Constant flagging of my accounts and cards anytime I try to use my card, and no one seems to be able to fix the issue. In addition to that, it took FOUR YEARS for them to change my name. Waste of my time.

Chuck Coon: If you want your card blocked/changed every other month for 'fraudulent' charges, when the purchases are from locations you have purchased from before. If you want to wait in line behind 20 people and see only ONE teller working. Then this is the bank for you! I would not recommend this bank to ANYONE!!! You get their 'bank card' and you go to use it....it may work, it may not (cuz it's blocked).
Jesse Pinkman: I am disabled it is hard for me to comprehend things at times, but after reading some of these reviews I realized I have truly made an error in choosing this financial institution with my money. I have received a garnishment order which I understand they have a job to do. The only problem is they decided to garnish my disability check (NOT LEGAL) my only income and freeze my account (for over a month and a half) I brought this to the attention of branch manager Alejandro he refused to speak to me the first day. I asked to speak to their legal department to explain what they have done was an error. I received a phone number and found out they don't have a legal department. I returned the next day and finally got to sit down and explain to him that the funds they have seized were from Social Security disability. He (Alejandro)said how am I supposed to know where that comes from. I had them pull up a copy of the check that was deposited it clearly states on the check what the check is for after I pointed out the memo line on the check he pulled out his highlighter and then highlighted it and said I know where it's from then he SNICKERED and said "well there's kind of a gray area there". From my experience people who use words like "gray area" are usually crooks or really good at working the system. While working the system is a good thing for the credit union. Unfortunately it hurts the membership to add insult to injury they even have a $75 garnishment fee. I've worked and lived in Flint all of my life so I've had my share of run-ins with "gray area" type of people. During my sit down with Alejandro another member of the credit union barged into the office and hallway and was screaming about being done wrong and how he was going to get his lawyer. I should have took that as a que of what type of people work here. If you care about YOUR MONEY DO NOT TRUST these people with it.
C H: Where do I start when you talk about false advertising and misleading the public. There is nothing secure about this bank. They received funds by the mistake of another bank and decided it is in their best interest to keep them. (Security Credit Union) "Yes we know we shouldn't have received the funds. No we will not give back the funds". The only thing they are keeping secure are their funds which are lining their pockets. Banks like this are the first to take your car/home/wages but smile when they want you to give them your hard earned money to hold. If you are looking for a trustworthy bank. You need to look elsewhere. There are plenty of options and better customer service that doesn't operate at the level of mediocracy.
nick hinton: I've had security since I opened my first account 12 years ago. I've had small issues in the past, but recently have had fraudulent charges pop up on my account. The first lady was very helpful, got me a new card and filled out paperwork for me to file a dispute. Two days later I show two additional charges for two new amounts to my account, I went back in on 1/15, the lady at the desk was moreso useless. She claims they were the same transaction (that now show as two different amounts and are set to withdraw on two different dates than the originals) failed to realize that my money is not actually in my account, it is pending on hold for these two transactions so therefore is not available for me to use, wouldn't set me up with a new checking account, overall no help. So now I wait "up to 10 days for the fraud team to investigate" to potentially get my money back in my account. I'll be headed to dort federal (who has loaned me my last three auto loans, when security would not) stay away, shady business

J.L.S Calzada: I regret to state that I've had a loan account with Security Credit Union for about almost three years now (More/less) and unfortunately I’ve had nothing but terrible experiences with the loan department yesterday (Date: 06/09/20). I usually have had on time payments, with consideration of a terrible car deal from Jorgenson Ford on or around 12/27/18, where I was told from my salesman he found me a great deal on full coverage, completely false. I didn’t read the fine print, long story short I was approved with Security and he provided PLPD insurance proofs, which I have had to pay a huge penalty for. I didn’t want to proceed with the auto loan from the start. I was trying to catch up with the required insurance that was taxed on too, my already taxed monthly payment. Then COVID-19 hit, apparently Security Credit Union, hasn’t had any staff members or other loan members who are having hardships. For whatever reason, Jenny a Loss Prevention staff member, didn’t have the professional customer service decency to offer any arrangements, until after hearing about our current financial difficulties, and completely humiliated my wife and my other family members listening in on speaker phone to Jenny and her complete disregard to how we have been affected.Congratulations Jenny, and let’s not forget about Julie, your superior! You are the proud winners of Shaming loan members. I hope you both sleep well at night and it makes you both have a better day!I believe it is in the public’s best interest to know the type of people they will be dealing with if they choose SECURITY CREDIT UNION, and your practices on pandemic, and unprecedented times. Nathan Gentit: Best Advice - Go to Elga down the road.I was with SCU for 3 years, at least 5-figures in my account (most months) and there were 2 years that I received $0 in interest. Seriously. The first year I think I got a dollar (Woo-hoo!).Also, if you used another bank's/CU's ATM instead of theirs, they charged you $1 (this was in addition to any other ATM fees you might get from the ATM you use). Even if I used another Credit unions ATM that was in the Co-op network, they charged me $1. They don't tell you this when you open an account, and no other CU I know of does this, so I was completely thrown off when I found out.This meant that when I traveled, I paid $1 to them for every withdrawl (because they're only local to the Flint area). I use Credit unions because of the Co-op network; I can almost always find a Co-op ATM when I travel, and it's a huge convenience. Probably lost at least $100 due to this alone.EDIT - As you can see, they give the same cookie-cutter response to every 1-star review; I've seen several reviews with detailed explanations explaining the issue, which they could take and start making improvements to their organization. This kind of responding just proves how lazy they are (they should still have my info in their system, they can reach out to me), and how little they care about actually helping their customers (generic response, not addressing any of the concerns expressed or what improvements they're making to correct the issues mentioned; makes me wonder if they even read the reviews). I did call them once, when I was still a member, and their response was effectively to say "this is the way we do things". This kind of approach just proves more why they would get a 0-star review if it were an option.

Usually, the few trips I have made to the Linden Road branch have been a catastrophic waste of time since a majority of the employees I have interacted with seem like they couldn't care less.I have had numerous a few experiences at the Linden Road office where the staff have not been the least bit helpful. (From not letting me deposit a SMALL amount of change into my account from inside the lobby, to trying to CHARGE me for my own statements after I had told them I have not been getting them at all either electronically or physically mailed and confriming all my provided information was correct.)The only thing stopping me from giving any lower of a rating is the select 3-4 people who I have had a positive experience with here.

James Bowers: I do not recommend doing business with Dort Financial. As a growing business, we opened accounts with them. They have done nothing but make growing our business hard. They continue to hold funds on checks because their tellers want to. They do not have a rhyme or reason as to what requires a hold. They told me today if they don't like the way you look, they will hold your check. No matter how long the account is open or what kind of business you have with them. Escalation is almost non-existent with this credit union. I recommend Elga over them any day.

So I call, inquire where is ALL of my money that was in my account. It wasn't much, but still. Their reply was and I quote "its a dormant acct so there was a fee". Everything in my account!! They kept it! And if I want to talk to a manager about it, I have to go in person, not over the phone. I only live an hour away and I'm pretty sure this bank is keeping my money regardless.

I haven't been treated like a member and at the end, they were willing to take my money but not offer me any services that credit unions normally offer. Needless to say, I closed my account. Beware.

While work on the account was processed, we had brief conversations over a best short term investment offering. And other casual conversation as well. All rather pleasant, truth be told. Likely not the kind of treatment one would expect from mega-national bank of modern day.

David Waun: I have been a member of this CU for over forty years. Since PFCU took over it has become more difficult to make transactions online. They changed my account number by adding zeros and letters to the account number, limit how much one can transfer and generally make things more of a hassle. They charge higher interest rates than other places on loans. I don't use it for anything more than savings and checking. It would be the last place I'd consider getting a loan from. They used to be fantastic. Nowadays, not so much.
