Jonathan Groening: I'm honestly sad to be writing this because I believe the staff here are good people; however, I am very frustrated with Maplebrook Village Apartments.My wife and I have been living here for nearly 3 years, and each year when we re-sign our lease, our monthly rent increases. Since sometime in 2021, Maplebrook Village has come under new ownership and have been in the process of making renovations. Recently, we saw a sign on our building that Maplebrook was offering a "Transfer Special" where the transfer fee, lease termination fee, and application fee would all be waived if you opt to move into a new unit. I figured that since rent increases each year and the quality of the apartment stays the same, I ought t get my money's worth and move into a nicer unit.After all was said and done, we were given our keys and were told that the apartment was ready to go... this was not the case. When we got to our newly renovated unit, we found parts of the floor were uneven, the living room window did not slide open properly, and the window screen in our bedroom already had a tear. But wait! There's more... the gas for the stove had not been turned on and the microwave, dishwasher, and light above the sink all had no power. The reasonable thing would've been for Maplebrook to have had those issues addressed before we moved in; however, we were only permitted the weekend to move all our belongings into the new unit, have the old unit cleaned, and delivered our keys by the time the main office opened the following Monday. I call the emergency maintenance line to address these issues, and to their credit, they were able to turn on the gas that Sunday but could not address the electrical appliances until the following day. Fast forward to the end of Monday, our microwave now has power, but our dishwasher still does not work, and I had to put in another maintenance order.I know these problems sound mundane, but I simply want to have what I paid for. Maplebrook has not offered any concessions in good faith to express their regret the apartment not being ready despite them claiming to have done a thorough walk-through. In closing, I would encourage any new tenants to carefully weigh all their options prior to setting on Maplebrook. My situation may be an outlier, but I hope for this to not happen to anyone else.Edit: the maintenance request for the dishwasher and the other concerns with the apartment were not addressed when we were told they would be, so another maintenance request was issued. Disturbingly, according to what I was told by the management office, the staff do NOT verify the work and reports from those they hire to update their units. It seems that the risk of an apartment not being ready despite being told otherwise is a larger risk than I originally believed. I would encourage new tenants to have a healthy dose of skepticism prior to moving in despite being told the apartment is "ready." I know the staff have seen this review and reported to me that they are working to address these concerns internally. Nevertheless, I want to provide my testimony of the situation as I see it to help other potential tenants understand what they could be walking into.

Rei Chan: I was here from 2020-2022. This was a rough place to be for the time we were there. They have a serious rodent problem. Within the FIRST TWO WEEKS we spotted something running across the living room. When I read reviews for this place (where some ppl mentioned it as well) I should have skipped over it. It doesn’t help that this complex is by wooded areas. Our concerns were addressed and they did the best they could I suppose, but it only triggered anxiety. It’s a quiet area (for the most part) but some of the children that live out there are just the worst. Climbing on the carports, cursing like grown ppl and playing too close to vehicles. The carports are just falling apart and you can hear the broken parts bang against each other when the wind blows. Also ppl will park in your assigned parking spot. As much as they charge for rent….. I don’t understand why they haven’t had lights be in the parking lot at night!!! It’s incredibly dark and I did not feel safe. I was disappointed to find out that there are ppl who live under you in the townhomes considering the fact that you have a basement. The walls are ridiculously thin so if you have a child(ren) that likes to play, someone will bang on the wall or the floor (their ceiling). Not family friendly at all considering the people who lived under us fought all the dang time and cursed like sailors smh. Had the nerve to bang on our floor but would have domestic disputes in all hrs of the night.. The thing that honestly annoyed me was the fact that you can be charged if they find a package of yours (if it has your name/address on it that you have thrown away) near the dumpster.I thought that was sooooo not fair considering there are ppl who rummaged through the dumpsters and would make a big mess. Kroger carts will magically appear near dumpsters too. I honestly recommend those who can, to just rent a house……. The amount they charge here for townhomes is ridiculous considering how poorly the buildings are. They care a lot about their lawn not being destroyed but the carports are falling apart and band aids are applied inside for repairs. My stress levels went through the roof and YOU HAVE to stay on them to get things taken care of……even if it seems like you’re annoying them. This place served its purpose as shelter honestly until we got a deal for our new home. I mean if you don’t have a choice as to where you can go ……. make sure you get a dog/cat to catch the critters, and hit up Amazon for mouse traps and use peanut butter for bait.

Fawn Harden: I’ve lived at Stonehenge for 3 years and have had a very good experience. It’s quiet, I have friendly neighbors, and maintenance has been very prompt whenever we’ve needed them. We love Heather! She has always gone out of her way whenever we’ve needed anything. I would definitely recommend moving here to a friend. If I were to give one piece of constructive criticism to management, it would be to possibly add speed bumps for the fast drivers in the complex.
