The last room had a mouse trap under the table and bugs.There was no remote control, no toilet paper, and no bath towels. The room stunk.Went to get a refund and we were told we couldn’t get one after an hour. We were on the property for an hour, but only in the room for 30 minutes. There refund policy is no where in that building or online. They refunded me for my second night, but not my first night.Bad customer service and they need to make their refund policy clear. Tyler Orr: Checked in without issue at 11:30, without issue until the room I was given was already occupied. Absolutely disgusting hot tub, pool seemed decent through. Getting ready for bed, we realized the slider door to the pool doesn’t fully shut or lock which isn’t exactly ideal when traveling with 3 children under 7. The next morning, we get ready, breakfast selection is basically nonexistent, so we decide to swim before we leave to get food. Gates unlocked, lights on, about 15 minutes into my kids in the pool and some guys without a uniform on comes to tell us to get out because the pool hours are from 10a-10p. It was 9:15. I looked around and the pool hours aren’t posted anywhere in the pool area, room or on their website. The guy that told us to get out also had to ask the pool hours before kicking us out and then locking the gates which presumably has been unlocked all night. Unlocked gates, sliders that don’t shut or lock and kids are a bad combination. Completely awful experience. I will not be back and everyone I know will not come here. Also, lack of parking due to then hosting a church in the banquet center all morning is cool too.

Katie Henry: Safe for a solo female traveler.Came in during a storm, shenanigans aside, the guy at the desk was wonderful. He was having a terrible busy night and he did great. Called in the am for a refund and it was no problem. Stressed and short staffed, these guys are the nicest.Didn't end up getting a room, but will still be coming back when in town to visit family.

Emily Clay: I had paid for a room for a week at the hometown inn. I was assaulted by my boyfriend in which the police took him to jail. I was then kicked out during a snowstorm with my 8 month old baby because police came to my room. I was in sheer disbelief. I was also told that I wouldn't receive it a refund for the remaining part of my stay. Not only do I believe that is illegal it's incredibly bad business. I was definitely victimized twice in one day.

ALLISON METZ: *Do **NOT** stay her if you have any choice in the matter* = My group was charged TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS ($250) FOR A SOILED TOWEL. Absolute true story and if I was reading this review, I would have my doubts that this was the whole story, but that's it = Hotel maids found a towel that had some spots of blood on it (I assumed menstrual blood since three young women from my group stayed in the room) and the credit card was charged an additional $250 for "room damages." When I called the hotel to ask what specific damages occured in room, I was told there was one towel with blood spots on it that was considered damage to the room. When I asked for pictures of the towel, the hotel insisted they could only FAX me a photo which was impossible to discern whether the black and white, grainy photo of dark spots were shadows or soiled spots on the towel. After my fourth attempt to get the General Manager on the phone and I finally got to talk to her, she repeatedly insisted that $250 for ONE HOTEL TOWEL with some spots of blood was perfectly reasonable, and the guest should have come down to the front desk to ask for special cleaning supplies. After 10 minutes of this back and forth, I realized we weren't going to be able to come to a point of understanding, I calmly informed the General Manager I could not recommend her hotel to anyone and that people needed to know that they would be charged a $250 room dange fee if they unintentionally got menstrual blood on a towel. She then spent 5 more minutes insisting that I was in the wrong for claiming I couldn't recommend this hotel to anyone else by simply sharing what actually happened.There's other hotels in the Flint, MI area that are much more accomodating and reasonable for the same price. I ADAMANTLY RECOMMEND you stay at any hotel other than this one.

Donny Angeles: After being a member for 12 and a half years, at the top membership status every year, today was the first time a friend or family member was turned down at check-in using my points. The first hotel to refuse a family member at check-in. Even after IHG agent called them to explain the situation. Very disappointing and disgusting. Why are you even part of IHG, if you can't follow their guidelines.They won't let us in.

Janene Garnett: I stayed here two nights ago. When arriving the man at the front desk told me that if I didn’t smoke in the room I would get my $150.00 deposit back. Which I don’t smoke. The carpet had stains on the floor. The bathroom door would not close at all.The next morning. I go to check out and they had someone check the room. Cool no problem. The lady get a call look me in my face and smile. Hand up the phone and try to tell me. Since I left make-up on a pillow that I would not be getting a deposit back. I told her yes I was. The guy said no smoking. Another lady tries to tell me to wear water basic makeup. I told her you can’t tell me what to wear on my face. I did get my deposit back but…. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE again!!!!

David Waltzer: This place should be a model for all other Hiltons. Every element of this place is well executed. It was clean, well appointed, easy check-in, etc. But what really shined brightest was the staff. Every single person working there was kind, professional, fully present and helpful. It was just lovely. If I had any suggestions, it would be for the restaurant - which was also very nice. But they don’t know how to cook a burger to temp (medium rare = well done) So, if you really care about your burgers, go to The Torch, up the road. But the staff was also great at the restaurant. The bartender is a pro. I wish they could clone this hotel and put it in destinations I frequent. I would stay there every time.

Sarah Sturtevant: Such a comfy hotel and something that has been needed in Flint for quite some time! Brianna at the front desk was very friendly. She helped me over the phone, as well as when I checked in. The rooms are spacious. The pillows are too soft- but I’m sure are something someone would desire. I am also a big one on room temp, and I was able to keep my room right where I needed it. There is a parking garage directly across the street for a nominal fee. This hotel also offers valet. My only regret is not being able to try out the hotel restaurant- The Sauce. I will definitely be back.

The manager, front desk staff, valet parking attendant and restaurant staff were all very kind, willing and eager to help and just nice people in general. There was a small issue at check-in which could have been my fault. No one spent time trying to figure out who's fault it was, though. Instead, the front desk staff worked with management and took care of it right away. We have tons of family in Flint and visit a few times per year. This place will be top choice hotel every time we come from now on. Thank you for making sure our stay was perfect.

I started conversing with Adrian while he was checking me in, and suddenly had the energy to continue for the better part of an hour, about real and substantial topics -- Brilliant human being spreading the Good Word and the Light of God. Thank you, Adrian, for aiding in further restoration of my faith in humanity, in myself, and in the wonderfully mysterious ways of God Himself.A kind reminder to anyone this reaches: Even in something as seemingly mundane as checking into a hotel, there is abundant love to be found in the moment.
