Nicolas Ledger: Great place to train, friendly crew and welcoming to beginner's. Chris, Scott, Dave and Tom are awesome coach's. If you're considering a zero pressure place to start learning self defense or BJJ I would start here. No lock in, life trading contracts. Pricing is the best in the area and the small community continues to grow. Come check it out
Nick Leschinger: Chris and Scott are extremely cerebral with their teaching, great place to train!
Brandon Tallon: Great laid back affordable place to train.
Lynnette Mueller: I've been going here since it was Wolverine Martial Arts. Back then Scott ran the show and although life got the best of me and I wasn't able to train as frequently, the atmosphere was very welcoming. Close friendships were made and a sense of family developed. Ownership transitioned over to Chris and Heather who had also trained at Wolverine and they maintained that same vibe. Not only are we a family and a crew, walking into the Dojo is like therapy. You leave all of your stresses behind and challenge yourself to something new in life. Everyone who teaches there brings a variety of knowledge and its nice to learn from different perspectives. We also have a lot of fun and laughs no matter what we are learning. Love these Peeps! ❤
Nick Holland: Positive:ValueSolid place to train with multiple areas from BJJ,SAMBO, THAI BOXING and JUDO. Great membership prices and an easy atmosphere to train with out feeling obligated to buy anything, recommended for parents who want their children to learn self defense.
Angela Lewis: Love training BJJ here! Great community and fun classes! The coaches challenge you while keeping an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere🤙I always want to be here!My niece and nephews love the kids classes too!

Scott Atkinson: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI have been practicing jiu jitsu for twenty years and am so glad to call this place home. I look for everything in a gym, from solid training methods to a hard-working, fun, and welcoming culture. This is the place to go for BJJ in Genesee County.
Rico Suave: Great community and great enviornment. Perfect place to pick up a new skill and have fun at the same time.
Andrew Roberts: Wonderful place with wonderful people! Everyone there is extremely welcoming and friendly, and it's hard not to make friends with the people there. The instructors are very knowledgeable about all the martial Arts they teach, and great at communicating to people new to them. Cosens Martial Arts Flushing LLC: what do users think?
Phillip Ingram: Could not be any more proud, and honored to be a member of this amazing gym and team. The Head Coach - Coach Sanback has been without a doubt the best Coach I have ever had. He’s helped guide me in the right directions, and really helped me out on some pretty hard days. Constantly was checking up on me when things weren’t going my way. Along with the rest of the Team, Coach King and Coach Tilly have also been gems 💎 They’ve really helped me focus my technique and training to be laser focused and improve my abilities. I could not have asked for better people to help me achieve my Martial Arts dreams, and make me a overall better person. Best School in the State of Michigan hands down 🙌🏼
lena crosson: Just started taking my grandson last month and he loves it and I think what they do is great!
Corey Boone: Fantastic with the kids! Very energetic and encouraging.

Cosens Martial Arts Grand Blanc LLC: what do users think?
Kathryn Keller: when I signed up looking to gain muscle and strength, in addition i’ve found community and learned more techniques than i could’ve imagined. everyone is super friendly and welcoming, (it’s also not as intimidating when you watch small kids practice before you). 11/5 stars and a big thumbs up from this newbie
Jillian Gonzales: I can’t say enough good things about this place. My 5 year old is in their little ninja class and loves it. All of the coaches are phenomenal with the kids. As a parent I like that they put a strong emphasis on common sense before self defense and on building confidence and self esteem. It’s also a bonus that it’s very physical activity that gets the wiggles out. They also hold special events for the kids like tonight was superhero night. They had pizza and the kids played dodgeball against the coaches. It’s all around just a very positive environment for the kids. I highly recommend this place.
Douglas Miles: Obviously from reading all the parental reviews, Cosens has a great children's program. You might overlook their adult classes however. It's an inclusive environment, new students are welcomed throughout the year. You just jump in and pick up as you go. It doesn't take long before thing start to click. The adult classes are 45 minutes long, twice a week. You begin with a warm-up, some conditioning and then get into Muay Thai kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. There are some nights that I feel sore and tired before I even show up, but I never regret the decision to go through with it. The Jiu-Jitsu is challenging to learn but the coaches break it down and you practice step by step until you can put it all together. It doesn't matter what your age, size or gender is. I'm 50 years old and slow as molasses but it doesn't stop me from trying! When you're ready for the next level, you can enroll in the black belt class which follows the adult class (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs) in the evening. It's not specifically for black belts, just for students who want to practice what they've learned in a competitive setting. There's no pressure to do it, it's not for everyone. However, it really helps you put together and retain what you learn in the adult class. I've been going to the adult classes for 8 months as of this review, and I just finished my second week of black belt training. It is not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is. If you're looking for some adult fitness with a challenge, Cosens MMA is your place. I would be doing them a disservice if I didn't mention the coaches. Cosens coaches are great people; extremely helpful, motivating and kind. That type of person doesn't walk in off the street and get a job. Just like Cosens builds you as a student, they build coaches with a thorough and demanding system. The coaches are the glue that will keep you from falling apart when you feel like you're about to break. They are truly authentic and caring people!
kristy brotzman: My 5 year old loves the classes here it's helped in so many ways. It built his confidence up the couches are very good with the kids 😁
Justin Rose: The amount of growth we’ve seen in our sim is incredible, he was diagnosed ADHD a few months before starting but has really learned how to focus. Cosen’s has done a great job of helping him grow and control himself.
Stephanie Harvala: We love Cosens! It has been so great to watch our daughter work hard and advance under the great coaches here!
Dan Ryan: Great school for children. This is the best thing for teaching my child important skills such as focus and control. I am really impressed with the quality of the programs and the talent of the coaches. They also teach self defence skills and confidence.
Jared Ostrowski: Never a dull moment here! Coach Malaney is passionate about what he does.
Amanda Bennett: My son started at Cosens in April of 2022. He has grown so much, physically, mentally and emotionally. He has learned self discipline and amazing character development. All of the coaches are so patient with him and always want to see him grow as a martial artist and as an individual. We are blessed to be a part of the Cosens family! That is exactly what you become once you join, you are a apart of their family and they come along side of you to help your child on this journey of life!
Brother Horrible: Great martial arts studio. wide range of disciplines to learn from, whether it's self defense, competition, or even just for a good sweat they hit the margins. Friendly and caring coaches, positive inviting environment, not kobra kai 🤣 whether you're a beginner or experienced Cosens mma is top notch !
Steven Decatur: Coach Malaney is so genuine with his care for his students! He gives his all to do his best for them and it shows. I can't say enough about his character and how much he pours into caring for his students!
Dakota Distelrath: Cosens martial arts has made a big impact on my life and joining is one of the best decisions I ever made. The coaches are very technical with their martial arts and are very knowledgeable in Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo, and Jui Jitsu. If your looking to get into the best shape if your life while also becoming a part of an amazing team then look no further than Cosens Martial Arts.
Bodhi Universe: What an amazing Location! Very Beautiful Building and Setup is on point! Love the Cosens Colors and Theme- very appealing. The Coach is a very Nice person and is clearly great with kids! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a gym for yourself or kids to train MMA!
Amber Hibburt: My son has been a part of Cosens for the past 6 months. In that time we have seen tremendous growth in his self confidence, focus and listening skills both on the mat and at home. He strives to do work he is proud of and to carry skills he’s learning into every facet of his life. Our family believes this is the best investment we have made for him to date. The coaches are encouraging both to the children and the parents. It’s a partnership built on mutual trust and respect for all involved. There is a genuine dedication to seeing the kids succeed that cannot be faked. If you’re on the fence about enrolling I hope this encourages you. You won’t regret it!
Jason Stoker: Coach Malaney and Coach Brousseau are awesome! I brought my son in several months ago for training. He’s doing better in school, his confidence and fitness have grown by leaps and bounds and his ability to defend himself is steadily growing. The atmosphere is growth and acceptance. The coaches push everyone to grow and do better, but with kindness and encouragement. If you or your family want to grow in life and be able to find confidence and self defense, this is the premier place in the area!
Lisa Bennington-Love: My son loves coming to class! I appreciate that this is a life skills based program that within weeks has transformed him and helps with emotional regulation, as well as physical health. The coaches are amazing and make you feel like family. I highly recommend Cosens!
Randy Bradley: My son has been enrolled at Cosens for a couple months and he absolutely loves it!! The main reason I signed him up, was the fact that they teach important LIFE SKILLS, such as Discipline, leadership, self confidence and respect, just to name a few. Coach Malaney and Coach Brousseau are fantastic instructors(coaches)! They are very patient with the kids and you can really tell they want them to succeed.
Kerioki: My son has loved his experience at Cosens MMA. Coach Mulaney sets reasonable expectations and holds the kids to the consequences. My son is learning how to hold still and listen to instructions, he loves saying positive affirmations and really likes the homework assignments!
Rachel Nichols: My son started a month ago and I have been very impressed with not only the skills he has learned physically but also his mental and emotional growth. And I firmly believe it has everything to do with the Coaches at Cosens Martial Arts, Grand Blanc. They are wonderful with the kids. They have such a great way of demanding respect and attention while at the same time making the kids feel comfortable and encouraged. Would highly recommend!!
Sara Perry: Was made to feel like we couldn't afford their class, like we didn't belong with their clientele. I was brushed off when asking for the paperwork to sign up, one week I was told that Monday would be a good class to join cause it was small, then that following Monday all of the sudden he has to count heads to see if they would be able to put him on a waiting list and they would call that Monday after they were done testing, now that's after watching a lady who was there right along with us turning her paperwork in , needless to to say we never got the call....
Heather Young: Really enjoy the people and atmosphere.
