Alyssa Schulte: The first time I tried El Potrero, I was dining in with my family of 7. Our waitress was horrible, our order was messed up, our food came out randomly, and we had to continually ask our waitress for the same things over and over again over the course of about 2.5 hours- we had a 2 year old and a 4 month old baby with us, and it was not busy at all!After paying our bill we asked to talk to management. The management seemed incredibly nice, apologized profusely, blamed his waitress for being new, then asked for my cell phone number to talk during the week over what his restaurant can improve on (we dined in on a Saturday). I said okay because I had such a horrible experience, the bill was a lot and I sympathize with a business trying to do their best.The manager called me on Tuesday afternoon (we dined in the previous Saturday) and I spent a very long time listing off the things that I experienced there and why they aren't okay in the restaurant industry, so he said he was very sorry, and would love for our family to give his restaurant another chance so he would give us 20% off a pick up or dine in order next time if we just tried it again.2 months later, my same family was visiting and decided we should get a pick up order with this place with the 20% off... so we called, placed our order, I gave my name and number and told them the situation we were returning in. THE SAME MANAGER I talked to in person and on the phone said to us while placing a pick-up order over the phone "that just doesn't sound like me" and "I wouldn't do that!? On a $70 order!? That's over 14 bucks... tell you what, I'll do $10 off."Our original bill at this place was $110, and he offered 20% off our next order, after calling me during the week and talking for over 20 minutes apologetically, then called me a liar when I finally returned with a $70 order 2 months later with my name and phone number for a pick-up order!?I will NEVER take my family to this location again. Our table is easy, GOOD MONEY, we are good tippers, and we live right down the road from this place. We will be taking our Mexican food cravings elsewhere.But hey, thanks for the $14 off our 2nd order- but it wasn't worth all the hard feelings, and the time spent complaining the first time honestly! Or worth our family feeling awful twice over the first horrible dine-in situation we had.

The manager barreled to our table and scolded me in "how" & what I was to order. I didn't (and don't) want what he was demanding that I order. It was belittling and frustrated me. Have drove by Lupes a million times while going to work, but have never tried it until recently- and I'd say it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in Genesee County. Cameo Wallace: Poor Management skills. They were out of alcohol, and were really only able to make Margaritas 😞. They were also out of napkins, plates came to the table wet. Ashley: Awful experience. We got to the restaurant around 8:30. A girl came over to our table who wasn’t our waitress to tell us their kitchen closed in 20 minutes. So we ordered asap. Our waitress was very slow and the bartender ended up bringing our drinks over, which took awhile. There was nobody in the restaurant but one other table. We ordered 2 quesadillas and 2 tacos. When the other waitress brought out our food, I told her we had 2 quesadillas. Our waitress came over and apologized, that is was her fault she only put in one but that their kitchen is closed now. I thought that was odd, it wasn’t our fault so you would think they would make another one. We ended up having to share food. Then after a long while of her not checking on us, I needed napkins ,which were never on the table, and extra sour cream. She told me she can’t give me sour cream because their kitchen is closed. I had no words. This was my first time here and will never be returning. The tacos tasted like cardboard and the service was horrible.

Mallory Froman: If you want yummy street tacos and a tasty drink I’d highly suggest checking out xolo. Little dark in the restaurant had to use our phone lights but fun atmosphere.

Nick Stephens: Came in tonight for what has been my worst experience at a restaurant ever. It was only my wife and I who were looking for a quick dinner so we ordered a queso appetizer, 3 al la carte tacos, and a birria taco.The good: birria tacos and Al pastor tasted good.The bad:1. Took over 10 minutes after sitting down to be greeted by waitress and another 10 minutes for our first glass of water.2. Took another 15+ minutes to be able to put food order in. Once food was ordered, only the birria tacos and one single taco came out timely, queso dip was served during the middle of our visit and the final 3 tacos came out a full hour after we initially ordered.3. Our table was ignored almost the entire night. No explanations of food delays, we had to ask more than once over a 10+ minute span for a simple water refill. The table behind us was checked on over 5 times with us not even getting a glance/check in.4. By the end we had to have a second waitress take our bill / card just so we could cash out in a timely manor becuase the first was MIA just like the entire meal.We arrived at 8:20pm and did not end up cashed out and able to leave until right around 9:50pm. All of that for 6 total tacos and some queso dip. We didn't even have an alcoholic drink considering my wife is pregnant so there was no reason for this amount of time. With how poor the timing and service was this marks the first time in my entire life I have opted not to leave a tip to a waitress.Overall, this was only my second time coming here and I likely won't be coming back; plenty of better places for tacos in the area, and if I wanted to wait an hour and a half for tacos I would have just gone to the store and made them myself in that timeframe.
