Rick Kerber: I work across the street from Marcone Supply and needed a part for my dryer which they had in stock. They would not allow me to pick up the part as they no longer allow walk in service. I asked if I could purchases the part and have it placed out side for pickup and was told no! Customer service is no longer!!!

When I called I was not prepared to give part numbers or model numbers; the gentleman on the phone was very patient with me while I went to the basement, fumbled around looking for a model number and then made sure we were talking about the same part by describing it to me. When we knew we were on the same page he explained that the part was on backorder but gave me the actual part number so I could call around or order online since it would take 5-15 days to order from him. When your house is 50° in November you don’t have time to wait.

Gary Jacobs: We had a Bosch 300 Series dishwasher delivered and installed on 6/21/22. The man who did the work by himself knew exactly what to do, as if he had done this a 100 times before. His name was Arron and I think he deserves a raise or at least recognition. Great work sales wise, delivery and installation.

Joseph Ellis: My wife and I were looking for a new washer and dryer, as our washer of over 18 years old was too expensive to fix. We decided to shop at Gerritt's appliance, as we know they have been a family business for over 70 years and a model business in our Grand Rapids community. We went on a Saturday afternoon and had the pleasure of working with Ben Geers, a fourth generation Gerritt's man. Ben helped us navigate through many brands of washers. He was calm, cool and collected through the many questions my wife had for him about washers and dryers. He was very honest and gave us his true opinion on what he would consider as a consumer. He didn't try to get us to buy a more pricey model just to get a good sale. After we made the purchase, we had to wait almost 2 weeks before we could get delivery. We told them to put us on their cancellation list. I got a call the following Tuesday from Ben letting us know they did have a cancellation. We had to do some rearranging of schedules but we did and Ben and his crew of Tyler and Levi made this happen. My wife met them at the house and they did an excellent install job for us--clean, neat and didn't leave a mess for us. I would highly recommend you go to Gerritt's Appliance and let them help you with your specific needs. We plan to go back there for some kitchen appliances in the near future.Joe and Lisa E.
Mark Houghton: We purchased all new appliance for our remodeled kitchen at Gerrit's Appliance and our experience was first rate. Ben Geers was wonderful to work with; knowledgeable, very comfortable to work with, listened and found what we wanted, very prompt returning emails or calls (often outside of store hours) and followed up each step of the process and after delivery. The delivery was on time and set up done most professional. We would highly recommend Ben at Gerrit's Appliance.

The delivery & installation team of Jeff, Ty, & Jake removed what they had to to provide enough space to get everything out and in. Bonus, they also didn't make me feel bad for having my two young kids with me. I have a smaller dishwasher. I brought measurements, serial and model numbers. The sales guy said the dishwasher I wanted would 100%work: I had him triple check. Two weeks later upon the arrivalOf the dishwasher. It did not fit. On to the refrigerator. The wrong one was delivered. They installed the wrong refrigerator. I ordered side by side. Delivered is bottom drawer freezer. Then there were no handles. I got passed around to solve my issue. I begged to get handles delivered when the 2nd dishwasher came in. It was a good call because the handles they had delivered were for the Electrolux I originally purchased. What I have now (again not the one ordered) is a Frigidaire gallery. We wanted the side by side Electrolux because we use a ton of ice. So now the fridge that I’m stuck with not only has a smallIce compartment. If did not work. So February 19th a guy came to put in a new Ice maker, in the new freezer I did not buy. There has been no follow up. I had to constantly call, follow up. I worked with an owner, two sales people and I think a manager. They made me feel like I was annoying. I was very nice. Not to mention the appointments I had to cancel to wait for things to get fixed. They never offered a different refrigerator, compensation or different solution. I’m going to re do my kitchen soon. I’ll be using Bekin’s.

Bethane Visser: Our family has been lifetime customers of Gerrits Appliance. Our parents were Gerrits fans and we continued frequenting Gerrits after we got married 20 years ago. One of the big reasons that we continued shopping at Gerrits was the parts department. We felt we could trust them to stand behind their products and respond to inquiries.Unfortunately, due to recent experiences in trying to reach the parts department, we will no longer be going with Gerrits in the future.We purchased a dishwasher from Gerrits less than a year ago. Last weekend, we noticed a leak in the basement ceiling that we traced back to the dishwasher. The hose behind the dishwasher has developed a hole. We have been calling the parts department multiple times a day, for the last week to get a replacement hose. They never once answered the phone. We have left multiple messages and have not received a single return phone call.We finally resorted to contacting a competitor, Brummell Appliance, and gave them the model of our dishwasher. They will have the part ready for us to pick up on Monday.So long Gerrits. Your sales team is top notch. Too bad your parts department can’t live up to the hype.

Todd Prescott: 2 months and counting to repair an ice maker!We purchased a Scotsman ice maker from Gerrits and this has been giving us fits ever since. We had to have the unit completely rebuilt 2 years ago and I was asked to reach out to the manufacturer directly to coordinate the warranty. Fast forward to now - after a technician could not fix on site I was asked to call and schedule the machine to be picked up, waited a few weeks for this. Last week I get a call it is ready and "service" would be calling right away to schedule a drop off. After waiting 2 days for this call, I called and have left numerous voicemails to get this scheduled....crickets. I used to be a staunch supporter of buying local and supporting family owned businesses but at this point what value are they adding besides frustration!!!!

Rob Goss: I can not say enough good things about this company and our sales representative. They were extremely helpful when we went in and ordered our appliances. She took the time and went over all of the different brands and why they would be good in our brand new home or why they wouldn’t be what we wanted. She spent several hours with us and never once gave us the impression that we were taking up her time. She made sure that we got the builder discount and that they were delivered at the right time in the process of our home being built. We ultimately chose GE. After just one month our VERY expensive fridge stopped working as it should. We contacted her and she told us that GE is the only brand that they carry that we have to go through the manufacturer, not a big deal. The repair rep came to our home and was absolutely amazing. He knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He ordered 3 new parts and had them delivered to our home. He had it repaired and everything seemed right. Not 2 weeks later and the same issue started again. The middle drawer and ice maker stopped working again. We contacted GE and they basically said there is nothing they are willing to do. After several hours on the phone with the absolutely worst customer service rep my wife was fed up. We contacted our rep at Gerrits and she was beyond helpful. All of a sudden we have GE emailing us saying that the fridge will be replaced with a brand new unit. I’m not sure what she did but I am beyond appreciative for it. There is no other appliance store we will go to.
Stephanie Lashuay: Humans make mistake. What stands great people apart from the wretched is what they do when they error. I bought a Fridge from Gerrits & when they moved old out and new in, one leaked a fluid that permanently stained 1/3 of my wood floors. Bart came out right away, and tried to get the stain out. When he could not he said he would make it right.And He did!!!Without Question, they took ownership & went above and beyond to make it right. They spoke with only kindness, integrity, & resolution. I still stand humbled by such quality service and feel sad that they took on such expense to do the right thing. I can promise them, that what they spent in making this right they earned in the best advertising a company can have. I have now left 2 voicemails for the service manager and one for the service department and no one has bothered to called me back. This is now the second dryer that I have received from Gerrit’s that has leaked and they are trying to blame me for not cleaning the seal rather then trying to get it resolved. I expected way more from a local business.

We have their machines in our apartment and the exhaust vent detach, causing carbon monoxide to leak into our apartments. we call the gerrits many times with no answer and left several messages to have this issue fixed it's been over a week now...still broken. I'm really glad that my kids lives matter to these people. Oh yeah, they came and collected their quarters tho. P.s. We also contacted the apartments too they don't care either.

Jeannine Rizzo: This store has the best customer service in town with an impressive stock of appliances. I purchase applainces for both my home and rentals so I have called Scott many times over 25 years! They have high end brands and also entry level appliances with competitive price points but much much better service. The last 5 appliances recently purchased I just did it over the phone with Scott and they deliver and install on time with a great installation company. I rely on Decker & Sons and they always exceed my expectations.

Go to Decker & Sons and see David Jr. We remodeled our kitchen during COVID at peak supply chain challenges and David spent a lot of time with us, providing options, working through prices, get us the best price and keeping us updated as we waited for our orders. He also owned an arduous rebate submission process for us, making sure we got all of our money back. That kind of service is valuable. More valuable than that, was when one of the appliances failed not long after the warranty expired. When the manufacturer failed to take action David became our superhero. He spent countless hours tracking down a solution and got us cared for without us having to spend another dollar. We appreciate him and the Decker & Sons team more than we can express! Best price or not - they are our appliance provider for life now!

Tom: They don't service what they sell in house and refer you to a second party repair service. Good luck with getting someone on the phone. It's less than a two year old refrigerator...lesson learned, deal only with companies that provide direct service instead of quickly getting you off the phone with only a phone number.

Mike Peterson: Our experience was ok , we ordered a Upright Freezer with glass shelves. We were told none in inventory but have six due the following Thursday and could deliver one on Saturday, so we decided to do it and paid for it that day. Well Saturday came and went with no Freezer or curtisy call. We don't do box stores because of 3 rd party everything , Northgate has always been our choice and have moved so needed a new go to place for appliances, so upon calling on Monday we were told they now would not have one until beginning of April about 3 more weeks out so we settled for a wire rack Freezer same style we ordered , we all know the ends of the wire racks eventually rust, in my experience, The eventual deliver was excellent. I would probably go back and give another chance.
Graciela Francisco: I went to Nawara as a recommendation from a dear friend. I needed a stackable washer & dryer. Customer service was very good. Previous to going in, I signed up for their line of credit and was granted it right away. I purchased the unit. I had to wait a few days as it was coming from Chicago. During that time, my refrigerator went out and I showed up to the store again and met with a couple of their sales folks, who assisted me with my selection. I elected a floor model and received a great discount! And the best part was that both units got to be delivered at the same time and only charged once for delivery! The delivery guys were also awesome! Very knowledgeable as well and with a smile on their faces. They installed and tested the equipment prior to leaving, and also explained how to use them (besides leaving the manuals.) Overall, the transaction was very smooth, professional, and very pleasant. I recommend Nawara Brothers to all looking for appliances, as this was my experience. They sell other household items as well. Check them out, and support our local businesses!

Molly Bigford: After a botched installation job with Home Depot and then being unable to start our new dishwasher, we returned it and called Nawara. They had a nicer dishwasher in stock for a cheaper price and made accommodations to have it installed 3 days later. Highly recommend! Also, Nawara Brothers will now service this dishwasher if we ever need since it was bought from them. Never buying an appliance from Home Depot again.

Sue Visockis: Oue experience purchasing a dishwasher was very easy from choosing what we were looking for to installation. We bought on a Saturday and it was installed on Tuesday! Sales staff were very informative & not pushy at all. I was told installation would be between 10 & noon, they arrived at 10. Very impressed I had no clean up after the technician left. Highly recommend Nawara Brothers!!
