James Thornburg: This review is only for the customer service. I am not able to review the product, as the delivery was never made. After ordering, a time was scheduled for the delivery. The time came and went. At 7pm I called and was told they had stopped delivering hours ago. They apologized and said they would do it first thing the following morning of the next day. Once it was noon and there was no delivery or contact made, I called to see what the deal was. I was told he could not talk to me because he was trimming trees. I got a call back 20 minutes later saying they could "maybe" deliver the mulch 2-3 days from now. If the customer service is that poor I can't imagine the product.

Jim Reeves: Needed 30 yards of mulch delivered and spread out in the apartment complex I manage. Grand Rapids Mulch was quick to respond and get the job done. Plus they didn't even ruin any grass or landscaping because now they have a huge blower truck! So I didn't have to spend extra money on labor for a bunch of guys to do it. They sent a 3 man team and were done in no time!!

Right On Track: I've always had good dealings at this place. Getting 3 cubic yards of dirt delivered, the driver of the small dump-truck was able to unload it exactly where I needed. They also sell rocks and here of every kind. You can see their supply-yard from your car when you're going north on US-131 right before the West River Drive exit.

The lava rock we ordered was mixed with other rocks and that was not explained to us before we placed A $1200 ORDER! Their explanation was, "that's how we get it". We were given a $20 discount per yard and a free delivery which we appreciate, but when half of the rock we received is not what we ordered, that is unacceptable. We needed another yard because we ran out, but have to pay full price this time?! John says, "that's why we recommend you come look at it before you order", so why didn't he ask me if we came to look at it before he let us place the order? TERRIBLE customer service! Beware.

Heather Cooper: Friendly folks, but the product (hardwood mulch) was very “composty”. It was so old it had already broken down into soil. My mom and I both have used hardwood mulch for decades (she’s a master gardener) and we have never had hardwood mulch so broken down. I called to give feedback and I don’t think they could’ve given a rat’s behind. Her response was “that’s why I push for people to use the color enhanced mulch”. Seriously? Doesn’t make sense and I will never put that garbage in my landscape. I’ll go back to using Brinks wood products. Their mulch lasts a longer time with a natural color. Shouldn’t have switched to the more local provider.

Renee Powers: Everyone at CWP works very hard to produce a great product and great customer service. They really do enjoy meeting their customers and fulfilling the customer expectations to the best of their ability. I have worked there seasonally for 3 years now and know this is true. As for the women who spoke about her husband bringing in brush...we do not use brush in our product. They take it as a service , as the transfer station no longer accepts brush. It costs them money, but they do it as a service for the community. I cannot comment on the cost he expected but I know they have set rates. What I DO know is your husband came in, was unhappy with the cost, THREW THE MONEY AT THE YOUNG GIRL WORKING THE DESK, WHILE HURLING PROFANITY AND SWEARING AT HER, at that point the owner came out and defended her. No one deserves that kind of treatment, no matter the frustration. I’m sure if he would have been more reasonable they could have/would have worked something out. Customer service and making a great product is their first priority.

Jill VanOeffelen: My husband called and told them the size of his trailer, asked a price, to get rid of some brush. He was told a price. He took a load of brush and was charged what he was told. The next day he went back with a trailer load and was told it would now be double. When he questioned it, a man (assuming the owner) came out of his office, slammed his fist on the counter and yelled, "We don't need your brush." Would not recommend dealing with a business that is so disrespectful!

Brian Thomas: Called Brink to have some bark hand installed around my house. I estimated yardage too high, but because the crew kept good track, I only paid for what they used. David and Bryce did a great job on the install. They were very thorough, using pitch forks to place as compared to just dumping it out. They also hand spread around the plants and bushes. Once they were done, they broomed off the driveway as well as several large rocks in the landscape and then raked up anything in the yard. These two young men worked very hard and did a fantastic job. I will definitely use Brink again.
