Robb Abbaduska: They did a good job on the mitigation when our dishwasher leaked on 1/22/22. It has been nothing short of a nightmare since then. I thought going through them was going to make our lives easier. It has not. It is now 1/12/23 and we are still dealing with them. They are saying we owe way more than we thought or agreed to. They don't seem to know what is going on. I had to tell them that there was supposedly money on the backend from my insurance per their employee. We will never recommend or do business with this company ever again! All I can say is know what you are getting yourself into and demand that things are totally transparent!

Cindy Soyars: One day I found myself with a basement filled with about 5” of water. I was frantic & didn’t know what to do. I called my insurance company & they told me I could call a restoration company to come out to help deal with the water. I called a dear friend who gave me your name. It was the BEST call I ever made! Your guys came out & right away reassured me that they wouldn’t leave until they took care of everything! I can’t tell you how much that meant! They brought a truck that sucked water out to give aid to my alrC overworked sump pump. We recently had to move contents from a storage shed here, so there were boxes everywhere. They had to pick up & move every single item & that was no small task. All the while, the guys would say “we’ve got this-don’t worry” with a smile on their faces! Once they got rid of every drop of water, they sprayed so there would be no mold growth & set up fans to dry everything. Multi Serve installed our patio door in November of 2020, a younger guy removed the old patio door and another guy older installed the new patio door, when he was done and was opening and closing the door there was this clicking sound and the younger guy saids is that suppose to sound like that and the older guy that installed it said YES it will be ok..fast forward that night I'm taking my dog out and it's still clicking the come find out the door is WARPED and he knew it REALLY...to make things worse the brand new door lock would not latch we had to close the door just right in order for it to lock , we are now in August of 2021 and they finally come back to fix the lock and to put the quarter round on and I just notice a clump of glue these people are the worse to the point I'm considering taking them to court!!!

Wendy Overway: Tried booking an appointment to measure my sliding glass door for replacement. The phone number given directed me straight to voicemail. Then they texted me a date a month out. I tried calling them a few times, Left a voicemail to see if we could get a sooner date. Finally got a hold of someone in customer service was rude and unwilling to work something out.I'm glad it didn't work out I can't imagine working with uncooperative people. Also the other reviewers confirmed my concerns. If they can't handle an account with home Depot, then they need to pull out. Shame on home Depot for working with such a company.

Caitlin Gallagher: Multi Serve came to my home to measure for new interior doors (we received their service through Home Depot). We have old doors we would like to install ourselves so the door salesman at Home Depot made sure to leave a note on our service order to measure the hinge placement so we could have them pre-drilled on the new doors. The process up until the measurements truly was easy and seamless and they were able to get us in quite quickly. I was pleased until two weeks passed and I heard nothing from Home Depot (as promised) to get my doors ordered. This was because Multi Serve had still not completed my measurements (there is no reason it should have taken that long). I had to reach out to Multi Serve myself to ask for the measurements and magically Home Depot had them the very next day. So we go to Home Depot to order the doors and find out they never measured for the hinge placement. So now we have to start the process all over again and get on the list for a whole new measurement and Multi Serve gave me a date that was more than a month and a half away! This is now 5 weeks after my initial correspondence with Multi Serve which would mean we wouldn’t have our measurements done for 11 weeks after the first email to them! After explaining the situation to them and how displeased I was with their service—they finally push my appointment up by a few weeks. I’m supposed to have them come back in early next week to measure for the hinges and HOME DEPOT calls to tell me Multi Serve doesn’t want to measure the hinges because they basically want me to pay for their people to install my doors. Unbelievable! They do not even have the decency to call me themselves. After all of that they cancel my appointment and make Home Depot call to tell me. Worst customer service I have ever received and now I will be taking my business to Lowe’s. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY’S SERVICES.

googusr32: Three days in a row I was told roofers would be at my house to repair some damage to my roof that would take "1-2 hours at most" according to the installer. The first day they dropped materials and left for several hours, before returning to tell me they "didn't have the right tools with them" and would come back tomorrow. Tomorrow came and went, and now today as well. The project manager has been pleasant enough to work with, but I will be contracting the job out to someone who will actually show up to do it at this point.After canceling, the owner of the company did reach out and contact me, and I feel he was sincere, so I am editing my review to add back one star for that.

Todd Sevigny: I used Multi Serve for a Insurance loss repair in Feb of 2014 for a roof leak that caused a lot of water damage to my cottage. They responded immediately and performed very professionally throughout the repairs. They were very accommodating to my tenant who was living here during this process and he was also impressed with the repairs and quality. Good honest company. Would recommend using them in the future.

Ryan Lindsey: I bought a repo house this past fall. Under the loan requirements a repair had to be made to the hole in the wall behind the shower (access to the plumbing). I wasn't sure who was doing the repairs since I wasn't paying for it, but I showed up during the repair while checking to see if it had been done yet. The guys were nice enough, but I would NEVER hire this company to do anything. Instead of using a pre-fab access panel they cut piece of unfinished 1/2" birch plywood and screwed some cheap hinges on it, to fabricate a makeshift door. On top of that, the cut was so far off that it dug in to the adjoining wall every time it opened. The door warped and didn't even hold against the wall 2 months later. It passed the VA approval for the loan, but the work was bare minimum at best. Just my opinion, but I know who I wouldn't use. I imagine if they were doing it for an actual customer, and not a bank or realtor, they might be a little more complete, but first impressions are everything.

He checked all around the walls, in the crevices, behind furniture, and so forth. Finding nothing, he then tested the humidity in our basement and found it to be so low that mildew could not develop. Theodore Petzold: We had a tank burst in our lower level and flooded half the floor, soaking up the carpet and padding so the padding had to be replaced. They were able to come check it out quickly and help us bring our house back to normal fast. Insurance was happy to cover the cost minus the deductible so I would definitely call these guys again.

There are many companies out there that will come to your house and try and make the mold issue sound TERRIBLE. Other companies use outdated unverified tests that only test for regular mold found in the natural outdoor air and then they want to charge you an arm and a leg to remedy something that isn’t a problem. I lost trust in many companies, but not this one! If you are looking for a mold expert, this is the company to hire. Not only do they do an excellent job, but Sos was very upfront and honest about the job. 616 is knowledgeable, and gave us a great price for their services. Not to mention fast response time, professional, and informative. He assured me that the mold issue could be cleaned for a fraction of the cost the other companies gave me, and could also perform the job it in a timely manner. He put my stress at ease immediately after his visit. I would recommend them to anyone looking for the one and done first quote and also recommend to anyone looking for second opinion to make sure the company they ultimately use is up to 616 Restore standards.

Sarah Stickney: We are currently in a crisis with our basement renovation and were relieved to find a Amber Valley only to be disappointed and hurt that they turned down working with us because our project was too insignificant for their time. We were not expecting that response from a company that claims to be for people, especially for people who have previously been burned by a general contractor.

Mrs. Katie Przybyla-Kimball: We worked with Amber Valley for nearly 3 years on a huge house project, so we know their business fairly well.Even with all that time, we only ended up finishing a small basement project.Some of that was due to the pandemic but some was due to what I see as three drawbacks working with Amber Valley:1. Unclear or slow communication2. Inability to retain employees and contractors3. High pricesThis will be a very balanced review, so I will share what we loved about working with Amber Valley as well.The project development system, where we pay a bit up front and make all the decisions before actually signing the final contract, seemed like a great system because then we wouldn't be constantly making decisions throughout the project.The trouble came when we just couldn't get to the end of the project development and get that final quote. We really should have been breaking ground in April 2019, but we didn't get the final quote until mid-June. Part of that was definitely our responsibility because it was difficult to go to all the vendors and make every single decision in a timely fashion. However, we also found that Amber Valley was inflexible when we requested that we at least get something down, some final number, even if it had a range of $10,000 or so so that we could move forward on schedule.When the quote came in, it was a solid $50,000 more than expected.We decided to finish two basement rooms with Amber Valley as a sort of test run.It took until January, to get that started. Part of that was because anytime Amber Valley loses a project manager or designer, you kind of have to start over explaining the whole project because although the project development structure is very firm, there aren't enough organizational systems in the company to keep track of everything that happens in meetings with clients.We were satisfied with the work Amber Valley did in the basement, and Chris is a wonderful project manager. If he's still with the company, we can't recommend his attention to detail and care about your project enough.Because of the uncertainty and price increase that the pandemic brought, we did greatly reduce the scope of our project, but we should have still been able to use many bits and pieces of the old project development plan. Instead, we started over again because of 100% staff turnover.During this process in 2021, we were repeatedly frustrated by either a lack of or incomplete responses from key players on our remodel. If Joy is still the designer, her demeanor is strangely opposite her name.By the time the final quote came in for our reduced project after months of coordination, it was disastrously too high. We were able to act as our own contractor and get the kitchen remodel done for approximately half of Amber Valley's quoted price. We were not able to get our $6,000 project development fee back, even in part, because the contract for that fee is written heavily in Amber Valley's favor. Derek fairly stated that they had put at least that much work into our project, which is true, but in large part because of the continual staff turnover and need to re-explain and restart the whole thing.We part ways with a sour taste in our mouth, but still able to say some positive things. Derek is overall good to work with and has an endearing personality, but lacks systems and organization and tends to bite off more than he can chew. I think the company grew too big too fast.Chris is a spectacular project manager, and we were satisfied with all of the contractors who worked on our basement update. However, with all the turnover, that really doesn't mean much because it's probably different people who will work on your project.I'm sure there are some great advantages to the project development strategy, paying part down and making all the decisions before signing the final contract, but just make sure you assume a price increase and realize that the business will take a cut of all materials and charge quite a bit for their office work.Services:General construction,Basement remodeling,Painting,Drywall installation,Flooring

After the replacement, it appeared the problem area around the chimney wasn't sealed tight and continued to leak. They worked on it until it was sealed, including a water test and climbing in the crawl space free insulation attic to locate the specific place of entry. No more leaks!

After a disastrous kitchen remodel by another company several years ago I was reluctant to get started. I had other contractors in for estimates, but it still didn't feel right.I especially wanted some one to do the whole job and not turn me into a general contractor. My friend heard Derek on the radio and urged me to give them a call. Best move I could have made! Derek had his own experience with disabilities and understood exactly what I needed. He came up with a plan that fit my needs and stayed within my budget . Every workman and woman who came into my home was conscientious, courteous and diligent in their work and answered any questions I had. It may not sound like much, but they made sure I had a working toilet every night so I did not have to leave my home. As I was in- between hip and knee surgeries this was very important to me. There were delays of course some because I made changes and some because we had to wait on inspectors. It's unrealistic to think there won't be any on any building project. I now have a beautiful walk-in shower, glass block window updated electric, plumbing and cabinetry. I can't thank Derek and Amber Valley enough and will definitely use them for any future project. PS I also now have wonderful acoustics for shower singing too!

Richard Evans: The work that Amber Valley did adding stairs to our preexisting deck was amazing. When we bought our new house we noticed that the deck didn't have stairs leading to the back yard. Cyndi Miller: I researched for months trying to find out who cleaned up mold in the basement to no avail. I became so frustrated always being told, "No" or "I don't know." I was getting sick from my own home and didn't know where to turn. A social worker at DHS gave me Andrew's card because he had done work in her home as well and said he was so nice and she was happy with the work. Andrew came out and was so calm and explained that everthying could be cleaned and saved when I stressed for such a long time that I would have to throw away all of precious items I've had for decades. He explained to me how humidity works and to not let it get above 60%; mold starts to grow above 60%. He recommended buying a humidistat, which was only $15 from Amazon, as well as for me to get a stronger dehumidifier. Humidity is highest in the summer, so that's when to use the dehumidifier and just watch that the humidistat didn't get above 60%, and that's it! I also had my basement registers closed and a hole in the concrete that was never patched from getting my central air installed that also contributed. A house needs proper air flow, so even if you don't use your basement, NEVER close your registers! I learned all of this from Andrew. It seems so easy. I wish I would have had the knowledge years ago to prevent this traumatic event from happening. He also worked with a state program, which paid about half, and he sent in the paperwork to be registered. Everything I asked for, he did. The crew worked so hard, removing the bathroom sink, cabinet, and light fixture to take out the stinky drywall, removing the paneling (and even hauling it away), vacuumed the entire basement, cleaned the embedded mold from the wood rafters (which was the hardest), cleaning each and every one of my precious memories by hand with a mold disinfectant, and even brought in a few more guys the next day to finish the work, then fogged the basement to ensure it killed the mold in every nook and cranny. I want to thank Andrew and ALL of his staff for conducting a traumatic mold cleanup with ease. I worked myself up and was stressed out for nothing. Everyone was extremely courteous, professional, and all of my questions were answered. Andrew was so kind and understanding and Jarus is one exceptional human being. Jarus was my go-to guy when he was here and was so, so helpful. He asked to carry heavy items where I wanted them and even carried a stand I made in high school uptairs. Andrew also set up an appointment with Jon Rodriguez of Air Care of West Michigan, a duct cleaning company he works with, to perform the final step to clean the ducts and also spray them with the mold disinfectant. Every single business should provide this type of exeptional quality, courtiousness, and professionalism. Thank you for giving me your tools of knowledge so I can prevent this from happening again and for giving me back my home. They deserve 100 stars. Worth every penny.

Scott Gumieny: My basement flooded Dec. 30 2019 right before New Year's Holiday. I had just completed an extensive basement remodel and had people moved in over the fall. Got referral from Mr. Roto Rooter and gave Rainbow a call for water mitigation service. Andrew and his team came out that same evening and worked to clear rest of water and then returned on New Years evening to start the drying process. They were extremely fast and worked on a day most people have off. They also worked directly with my insurance company to make sure everything was covered. It was a terrible ordeal for me especially since I had people living in the basement and they needed to move out during the whole process. Rainbow went above and beyond. They scheduled contractors and provided my insurance with the required paperwork to get rebuild covered - even sending pictures of personal property that was damaged so my insurance could cover. If I ever had questions I simply texted Jeremiah or Andrew and they promptly answered. They even worked with me when I was not happy with some of the trim work that was completed by sub contractor - offering to replace or give a discount. I could not be more pleased and I am sure my insurance company feels the same way. I never hope this happens to anyone, but if it does I HIGHLY recommend giving Rainbow International of Grand Rapids a call. You will be glad you did.

The water spread throughout the bathroom and into our closet, I spent a few hours trying to shop vac the water out, it wasn't helping.
