Mark Witbeck: This store seems smaller than other rei stores we have been to, but it may just be me. I love the outdoors, and this place has you covered. From cycling, kayaking, mountain climbing, hiking, camping, and more. I know their staff always seem to be ready and helpful, that is great. They offer demos on protect you Wan by to bb buy and may not be sure an not how to operate, like a camp stove. I once crawled into a sleeping bag to test out the mats i was thinking of buying, and yes, I bought it with no regrets.

Eli Dewey: My family and I stopped into Bill and Paul's today. Marsh helped us explore canoe options for the family as we are looking to move from our Kayaks into a larger vessel that can accommodate the whole crew. What was originally going to be a quick stop (our first time in the store) turned into an hour conversation with Marsh. He provided us with a wealth of knowledge and personal experiences not only regarding canoes, but several other camping/backpacking tips, tricks, and gear recommendations. We love the store, and Marsh was fantastic. He made us feel at home, which says a lot as we had our overtired 1 year old, and supercharged 3 year old with us. I can tell you, I'll drive right past REI to come see Marsh next time I need hiking shoes, Darn-tough socks, or anything else.

Nevada Basile: The atmosphere at Bill and Paul's feels like being in a cozy chalet, it's welcoming, nicely layed out and the staff have a great no pressure but available attitude..their selections are on point and prices comparable with other big name outdoor stores..the experience there is what makes be want to go to Bill and Paul's every time instead.

Chris Scholten: Stopped in to the Brenton village Boyne store for the 1st time to shop for a new pair of snowboard boots for my college aged son. I was absolutely blown by how helpful and knowledgeable Nate was. He really knew the product & inventory, and went above & beyond to get my son a good fit My son even remarked on the way out the door "that was the best customer service I've ever experienced".

CJ: Staff was friendly but beware of pricing. I brought in a pair of skis to have bindings mounted and they tried to charge me about $140. Thank God I offered to pay beforehand. I'll be finding another shop.

R. B.: I brought two snowboards in for full tuneups for the first time. Never been before and was excited to check this place out! Great price for a full tune up and was told it would only take 5 days to get them back to me. After 9 days of waiting for a call from them, I called the store and asked if they were ready. They said they were and when I picked them up, there was a note on the boards saying they were done 5 days prior. Not sure why I never got a call saying they were done. It was very disappointing. I wish it was communicated when I dropped them off that they would not call when they are ready for pickup. Also when I picked them up, I spent at least 15 minutes wandering the store. It was very hard to be acknowledged by an employee. When I finally was, the guy was very nice and helped put my snowboards into the bags, which is the only good experience I had here. Overall a disappointing experience and will take my snowboards for a tuneup somewhere else in the future.

Travis Kempton: Busy or not busy it is very hard to get help. They should have someone checking people in, or any system at all.

Brenton Reichenbach: I called and asked about the burton boa snowboard boots and was told they only had 1 left in my size I said I was on my way from Kalamazoo and suggested to pay over the phone after looking everywhere I couldn't find them anywhere they seemed too busy to talk and asked for my last name stating that they'd pulled them off the shelf and would be waiting for me when I got there, however, needless to say when I showed up they told me because of the high demand they sold them just minutes prior to me being there! Really snotty staff and shady experience for me would not recommend to anyone!

Nancy Wanty: I walked in the store for the first time today to check it out , it wasn’t that busy , there were clerks chatting with each other, plenty of time to approach me, I was trying to find some ski socks in XL , a clerk saw me and not once did anyone ever asked me if I needed help, I wandered all around the store and not one clerk even said hello let alone can I help you! Earlier I had gone into Orvis where I was asked several times if I needed help and also was greeted when I entered. I ended up buying several things there and even got my gift wrapped! Customer service is huge, I will never shop Boyle Country again!

Brian Crawford: The weekday crowd is little. I was there for: trail run shoes, yeti, treadmill. They have a great selection of shoes. Help you fit them and see your best size. The yeti I was after... They have them all... But... The treadmills... They have a lot of rich people treadmills... But I just started running. 200 miles. Anyways... They only had one I would buy. But at 700 bucks and 2.5 hp engine it was a deal. Did not look at clothes. The whole middle of store is jam packed with clothes.

Danielle: Very frustrating experience. Had an online order it pick up… drove from out of town to get it after they confirmed that it was on the shelf still waiting for us. Got there… it’s gone. Nothing was refunded as promised. Basically, lost $25 and driving time/gas money for absolutely nothing. They’re totally disorganized and promises not kept.

Micaela Ontiveros: I placed an online order and received an email stating the shoes were no longer in stock. I called the Grand Rapids location to double check and I received confirmation that the shoes were in stock. Along with confirming they were in stock, the associate confirmed the size, color, and overall design of the shoes and stated he brought them up to the front desk and Customer Service would be able to assist. Given that I do not live in the area I wanted to double check prior to making the drive and I was given confirmation all would be good to go.Upon arriving to the store the associates that helped stated the shoes were not in stock and I would have to connect with customer service if I would like a refund.I do not need a refund however I’m annoyed that I asked to confirm the shoes were in stock so I did not waste time driving, and that’s exactly what happened. I understand errors happen but do not tell me that you have the shoes in hand and you’re taking them to customer service for when I arrive and then tell me they’re not in stock.
