Joe Vitale: While I Appreciate the Continued Apologies from The Site Manager for the lack of communication, follow through and consistent issues created on the construction site around our home,I do not appreciate:Glaring Lights in our yard from the worksite after hours.Cutting Down Trees around our home that were committed to stay and shield the lot from the new 4 Story Buildings going into our historic neighborhood.Spreading dirt all over the areas that were marked to be undisturbed and creating water shed onto our property.Grass as high as my waist around our home on the other side of their construction fence.Blocking our driveway with delivery vehicles, piles of sand, trucks, etc.Closing off the street with no notice to owners.Its very convenient to blame it on the developer, but where is Rockford's responsibility as the construction firm? Is it because they are not a local outfit to Lansing? Do they feel the neighborhood surrounding has no importance/relevance to their project?If you are a developer who has any concern for the community surrounding your development, I would think very hard before hiring this firm.

Dave Sny: Absolutely the worst. The never keep their word, and don't warranty anything. My parking lot is falling apart, the septic was installed wrong. Can't even get them to return a phone call. Absolutely pathetic company.

Matt took time out of his day to share information with me that put me on a better course of action than the one I was on. I’m finding it’s the company I haven’t hired, or one I hired for a different service, that have given me advice that the “professionals” I hired should have that have saved me from making costly mistakes. They are the true professionals. Helping a stranger on the phone counts for a lot in my book.

Cory Bleeker: Called for a quote. Excellent job over phone. Discussed having come out to measure and such for a small job. They offered to do it virtually however I rather have someone come out. Person came out next day. Did the measurements and stated would have a quote by Monday. This was measured and such the 25th of August. Its now 9/8/22 and I have yet to receive a quote. Company reached out few days later to discuss the quote and why it was delayed in getting to me. They did attempt to deliver and thought I had the quote when the email was entered wrong.Edited*

Debbie Romig: 2 stars … one for showing up and one for finally finishing.Before using Grand Rapids Construction (located in Howard City, MI) make sure you state a start/end date in contract or you may find your quoted five week project is actually six months (ten months if they use your home as the storage unit prior to start). Ask to speak/view references for comparable project as your job (ask for repeat client references as well). Stick to stated payment schedule in contract (they asked for early payments because project was taking longer than planned). Be your own project manager (as one may not be provided) and the company uses many/different subs that are “cross-trained” and workmanship may not be consistent. Grand Rapids Construction portrays themselves as a large company but in reality a small company stretching their sub’s way too thin on “thirty other jobs besides yours”. Ultimately we ended up with the master bath we wanted (but we did have to hire additional tradespeople to finish details that GR Construction felt they were “not responsible for”). Very nice/professional in the beginning…not so much at the end. We are getting ready to refinish our basement and “NO” we will not be seeking the services of Grand Rapids Construction again. Hopefully they learned some things on our remodel that will assist their company (and customers) in the future. Good Luck.
