Romence Gardens & Greenhouses: what do users think?
Kay Schultetus: This place is amazing. My parents shopped here 60+ years ago. Romence has grown into so much more than a place to buy plants. It's almost a destination to just walk through and breathe. I especially like their "native to Michigan" varieties.
S L: If I could leave more than five stars I would. On line ordering for plants with this fine company makes you feel like you matter with stellar customer service, beautiful plants packed perfectly with no damage. This is my second year ordering my annuals and will continue. A big shout out to Sarah who has been outstanding in her service on all aspects. Thank you.And thanks to Romence Gardens for having such quality plants.
Mary Sneve: I ordered 4 Elegant Feather plants several months ago. They arrived today just as planned for my zone! The plants are way larger than I had hoped and the packaging was great! Very happy with my purchase!
kathleen fisher: I am so impressed with this company. The plants arrived in perfect condition— no broken stems, and still moist. It is obvious that the Romence Gardens staff cares about the plants and their customers. I highly recommend this company.
Peg Mckerlie: This is my first time ordering and I am impressed! In fact the rose exceeded expectations. Large and well packaged. The bleeding hearts were in good shape and also well package.
Elesha High: It’s not often that I leave a five star review. But this company has really knocked it out of the park as far as customer service, plant, quality and shipment and presentation. They are quick with responses, and my shipment literally got to my house 4 days after I placed the order! That exceeds my expectations! Also, the care that they took in packing up my plants for shipment was superb. Highly recommend. Plant selection is also really good too.
Jody Horton: Amazing selection of plants and a very knowledgeable staff. Easy parking. Unique plants.
Sandi: Love love love the store. So three stars doesn't seem fair. That being said going in there and having a younger girl roll her eyes at me several time because she didn't deem it necessary to wrap my plant to protect it from the cold, is completely unexceptable. Romence is where I get the most of my house plants, they have a fabulous selection, but the younger employees need to learn it's the customer that is needed to give them a job.
Denis Deshaies: Facile d'accès et le service arrive à 9.30 pour décharger
Kristy Noel Moon: I love Romence Gardens. If youre a plant freak like me, you can tick off a few of your wishlist plants here and then some. Its a gorgeous place with great customer service. Prices are a little high on some plants.
Chuck Davis: Ordered a plant, waited a week to find, only because I confronted them, that they didn't actually have the plant. So they kept the money, sent out a shipping notification, then proceeded to tell the truth. What an absolute waste of time. Not worth the price I would have paid anyway. Found a cheaper one elsewhere by someone reputable.
Charmin Riedesel: Ordered 5 grasses I couldn't find anywhere else in June and was told they'd ship August 15th. Haven't heard anything so I messaged them. They said unfortunately we won't get anymore of these but we'll issue a refund. Well id hope so! I've waited on these for 2 months and you didn't know there was an issue until I contacted you? Very disappointed. Definitely won't order again especially if its not in immediate stock for shipment
Kraig Nielsen: The staff is very helpful and friendly. There are plants that you cannot find in the larger greenhouses. They specialize in many plants that are not available in local stores. Well kept and maintained plants.
Jamie Groom: Totally knowledgeable about plants, so happy to help, and they have koi from time to time. I love Romence Gardens when I want quality plants!!
Benita Gray: Enjoy plants and alot of beauty in Store
Christina Noe: There is so much to look at here! I have recently become obsessed with houseplants so I came to browse and have some fun with my daughter. I was so thrilled to bring home my first pothos, a beautiful silver pothos. If you love plants indoors or out you must visit Romence! One of the young ladies on staff was very helpful in answering my questions and suggested I purchase a larger pot than I'd grabbed, which is advice I really appreciate!2022 update: Still love Romence! Went today and picked up perennials, annuals, and herbs! Good sale in June.
Tracy Albano: Very pleased. Will buy from Romence again. . Canna plants arrived much larger than I had anticipated and look like they're in great health. One was even in bloom. Only issue was a few broken leaves, likely 'cuz FedEx driver laid the box on its side, tho' up arrows on box clearly visible. Probably disregarded along the way as well. ..
Lindsey Cunningham: I was amazed at the selection right in town! So helpful and kind. Do yourself a favor and just wander the aisles.
Dan Hodges: You will always find what you want at this Grand Rapids/East Grand Rapids gem!
melissa margason: Fantastic packaging and shipping!! By far the best I’ve purchased from online. Healthy, happy plants. Will definitely be back.
Cathy Oelze: Best shipped plants I’ve ever received through the mail. Healthy plants. Will definitely shop here again.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park: what do users think?
Ginny W.: Beautiful landscape, imaginative sculptures and very helpful, friendly volunteers. A real asset to the personality of Grand Rapids.
Chris Berger: I am very impressed by this beautiful place. It's massive, there's so much to see. The gardens, sculpture, greenhouses, gorgeous facilities (clean & modern) nice cafeteria, and helpful, enthusiastic staff.
tami nguyen: Beautiful gardens, wonderful tour. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Grand Rapids area
me you: Such a beautiful place and plenty to keep you busy for hours .
Mark Dykstra: A very relaxing afternoon.
S Root: Wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature and art. Always see something new. The Japanese garden is especially nice.
C Smith: What a beautiful place to visit! I've been a couple times for concerts (awesome venue) but never visited the actual gardens until recently. We were there for a couple hours and didn't even come close to seeing everything. I can't wait to come back and am thinking of getting a membership once our little is born so we can visit often!
amber heaton: The gardens are ok but get boring after just a couple visits. They never change anything and the price is the same throughout the year. The ticket is very expensive to me because the attractions never change. They seem to want to keep their involvement with the Museums for All program a secret. They list it on the site but do not include it on the pricing boards when purchasing a ticket on site. I have bought tickets with this program twice and both instances the staff member became rude and judgmental. All I did was ask for those tickets then present the cards needed. I'll continue to go here because I live in the area but there are much better gardens in MI!
Enirroc Hemera: I love to visit here every year these gardens have something new each time I come here or just some much to see and not enough time in a day pure Michigan wonderful place to bring kids
Caylyn Roney: Playground: Very kid friendly and lots of activities for the kiddos.Restrooms: Nice clean, well kept restrooms.Picnic area: Gorgeous view of the parks.
Barbara Demis: Frederick Meijer Gardens are beautiful and offer activities for children and adults alike. The grounds are clean and well cared for.
Stephanie Meehan: Beautiful gardens, well-curated and the staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. Had a wonderful time here with my family.
Shelly Struss: My husband and I spent three hours here and didn't see everything. We could easily spend the whole day. Loved the Japanese gardens the most.
Christine Thieman: It's a wonderful place to spend the afternoon 😊
Tasha ann (tbaby): We went over the weekend and it was absolutely beautiful!!
Samantha Laube: Beautiful indoor and outdoor gardens, lots to see and enjoy. My go-to spot to bring out of town friends. I love the butterfly exhibit they feature in early spring.
Celeste E: Beautiful garden and facilities. There are bathrooms everywhere, which is excellent when you are with small children. You definitely need to go early if you want to see everything. The children's garden was a hit for our kids. The Japanese garden and the large horse were the adults favorite.
melanie Burns: Beautiful
Regina Woods: In all the 30+ years I've lived in Michigan, I had never been to Meijer Gardens. It's big and has lots of exhibits, gardens, water features and sculptures. They had a good size children's garden with an interactive water feature of the great lakes. We only had about 3 hours to see as much as we could. I would recommend at least 6 hours to really see everything. It's wheelchair accessible everywhere you go. They do have a picnic pavilion at the front of the gardens.
Brenda Jablonski: Planning a second trip before May 1st to see the butterfly exhibit. Everything was incredibly beautiful I love art 🎨
Lisa Long: Great place, plenty of parking. I recommend the tram tour to get an idea of what you want to go back and see.

Knapp Valley Gardens: what do users think?
Judy Myers-Nelson: Tim Gordon worked with us to design a wonderful patio, firepit, water feature, and walkway. Troy and Spencer did a beautiful and conscientious job of installing the project. We love our new outdoor space!
Robert Bouws: Great service again- staff are helpful and informative. Quality products for sure. Prices are more than fair. Positive experience every time.
Paul Gillis: Nice job loading top soil in bed of my truck. And good price in it. Little pricey for grass seed tho.
Christine Cooper: As a gardening business, I have consulted with Ron at Knapp Valley countless times over the years. He is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it comes to any and and all plants that they carry. He always made my job easier and offered great ideas when I was struggling with a design. There is no one I would recommend more for a consultation, garden design or any plant and/or hardscape purchase than Ron. I was very bummed to move too far away from Knapp Valley and to lose Ron for my business purchases.
Alexander Lobaito: Amazing Guys, Highly recommended
Anthony Hopkins: A very nice place but has a limited selection. If they broadened their inventory they would have a gem here. Their prices are reasonable as well.
Susan Warm: Ron at Knapp Valley Gardens went above and beyond to help during a very difficult time. I live in Tucson and my twin sister lives in Ada. Tomorrow is our 60th birthday and we can't celebrate together. I have seen her in over a year. I wanted us to both plant a tree that will grow as our lives will continue to grow. Ron had a perfect pine tree that will grow 30-40 feet, but he is delivering it in a decorative container to her tomorrow (our birthday) with a note. I called several other garden centers. I was a bit emotional and crying. All of them didn't have the time or empathy to help me For a guy, Ron did an excellent job handling my tears and assuring me that my twin sister will get her forever tree.
Eloise Luyk: Great selection of larger plants, bushes..gives your garden a more developed look.
Deception 1: Plants are cool🎃
Megan Riksen: Knapp Valley Gardens completed a large back yard patio and landscaping project for us last summer, and we had them back to complete our front yard hardscaping this spring. We have been extremely pleased with the quality of the work and customer service provided. Tim was great to work with from the beginning of the design process through to the finished product. Jeff was also great to work with every day as the project progressed. I highly recommend Knapp Valley!
Laurie Seaver: Great customer service oriented business. Professional and neat installation of landscaping plants. Will be doing more business with you in the spring.
Deborah A. P. Mankoff: They have some unusual shrubs- for example a type of dwarf Hydrangea
Stephanie Cornwell: Our sales lady was amazing!!! Helpful, knowledgeable, professional and kept everything sanitary while keeping a safe distance!
Rebecca Levay: 100 percent recommend. My husband and I bought our first home recently and had zero knowedge on how to do our landscape / what plants to use. Jennifer was super helpful in that regard and helped out choose what plants would thrive best in certain spots in our yard and was happy to answer any questions we had. We also compared prices and Knapp Valley Gardens had cheaper plants than the big box stores. We will always come here for our landscape / plant needs!
KRISTIN's Tips and Tricks: Great for mulch
Jerry Brower: Great place to shop, very helpful ,thanks
Linda Walthorn: Great conversation and made it easy to set up an appointment.
Brandon Cady: They helped us get the wood chips / mulch we needed for our yard!
Jerry W: Stopped in and picked up some crushed concrete. Had a few questions that were answered quickly. Great staff.
Honey 2u2: Great supply of sod
