Linda Jewell: They try! They seem to have a skeleton staff.They run low on items a lot! But they work hard filling shelves and running the front!

Eric Swartout: Fine if you need like one or two things quickly, but not very convenient or an enjoyable experience. There is almost always only one employee in the store, so you often have to wait for them to get back to the cash register from stocking shelves. Obvious that corporate doesn’t bother appropriately staffing the store.The bigger issue though, the exit door has been broken for like 2 YEARS and they’ve just never bothered to fix it? Like they just put a sign up to warn people. A little bit of effort from corporate to make the store look borderline kept up would be appreciated.

NORTH STAR: I was overcharged for several items.The manager stated they were in the middle of a price change. The Manager didn't have the prices changed before opening the store. She was upset and didn't want to honor the price that was displayed. I talked to another manager that gave me the information I needed to file a complaint. This store needs a new manager. She doesn't care about the customer service and she has had several people-including employees complain.😐

Nathan Koets: Great bargains on stuff like reading glasses. Hmmm $20 at Walgreens or Meijer, $1 here. Ditto stuff like household/paper, etc. Only negative was a long wait, one cashier, long line of customers. Poor thing was trying her best, just needed a partner. Check ‘em out!
andrea l: This Dollar General is the worst. Expect to be in there for a minimum of 15 minutes even if you're only grabbing one thing. Nothing is ever stocked or organized. It could be a line full of people 3 workers there and only one at the register. The others are usually stocking stuff but yet nothing is ever stocked. I don't understand! I hate this one but it is the most convenient LOL
Brandi Silvey: The people who work there are friendly & I am sure underpaid and/or appreciated.There seems to be a lot of management changes and so it's a little inconsistent but it's usually well stocked with what it does have.This is a place for bare essentials, it is not a "ooh, look what I find at a DG" type store. It is a valued neighborhood store, despite the small issues.-The milk delivery is the least reliable or is always under ordered.

Eric Estep: Absolutely disgusting store I have been to in a long time..the store is filthy.the floors are black haven't been cleaned in a very long time..stock all over the floors the shelves are never stocked always bare..you can't walk down the halls..the employees are very rude to you..they get mad when your at the check out cause they don't want to wait on you.i think it's time they close this place down for good..where is the health department at why would they allow this to happen and allow them to stay open

N M: I was always under the impression that $ stores charge less, but prices here are way more expensive than the grocery store now. I was going here to buy 2L coke for $2., and now they upped the price again to nearly $3.. Looking at other items, all cost more than Meijer, and they expect you to give in and pay it, but I’ll shop elsewhere now, since they got greedy and keep increasing prices.
Bob Deboer: Biggest complaint is the litter staff never picks up !!As I neighbor I pick up more then workers.
Sarah Girard: This place is absolutely repulsive. No soap or papertowel/hand dryer in restroom. Restroom had NO luck. Door didn’t even fully shut. Empty boxes all over the floors. Product all over the floors. Product in the wrong spot. Diaper products on top of food storage products. I don’t know how this DG passes any health codes.

You couldn't even make it into some of the isles because of all the stock everywhere blocking multipleisles. It was a friday that I had went in for a few items. The shelves were extremely poorly kept up and I almost walked out of the store without even making a purchase. I've never seen a store this bad in my entire life. In the past it wasn't this bad.

Rabbi Porkchop: It's dollar general.I would like to share that years ago I had left my wallet at the register on a visit there for about a week not knowing what had happened and upon returning had it returned to me cash untouched. Really didn't expect that and very much appreciated. Before you judge by the location realize this store is here to serve this community there's plenty to pick from if it's not in the right neighborhood for you.
Chell Newland: The staff is friendly and will always find the time to help you find the item you are looking for. More than once I have gone in to this particular store frustrated and left with a smile simply due to how the staff treats their customers. I am very thankful to have this store and their staff be available to our neighborhood. They are an asset to us.
Mrs. Walker (Key'Oir Laveau): Employees don't greet you, store dirty, don't stock and trash in crates outside the door that just sits I'm afraid a rat will jump out.
Stone Cold: It'd be SO NICE to be able to vote a negative on the stars for this Dollar General location at Hall & Madison. It's TRULY "ghetto not so fabulous". The place has its very own aroma of candy and body odor and cheap cologne. They open and close whenever they please, nevermind the posted hours. Shelves are half stocked at best, employees are rude and there's always some type of rap music being blared on their portable stereo. It's worth the drive to the other DG 8miles away for sure.

Carol Cowell: I do not know why so many of the Dollar General stores are so dirty and have so much of their stock just sitting in boxes in the middle of their aisles. So I have two different theories either their managers are poorly trained or the owners are too cheap to pay enough employees to run their registers and have someone to keep the store clean and stock inventory.

AmberLiz Schwartz: Typical disoriented mess that you find at just about every Dollar General these days. They are understaffed, and it shows immensely. Through both the cleanliness of the store to the availability of staff assistance. There are trip hazards and it's a chaotic maze.

Inventory is stacked in every aisle in front of stuff for sale. Staff don't greet you when you come in or ask if you need help finding what you came in for. Inventory isn't organized or kept in their proper places on shelves. Sidewalk and parking spots are filthy. It's in the same strip mall as sketchy liquor store and New York Chicken. See my review on that restaurant. I'll never go back. Dollar Generals all look like this EXCEPT the one on Leonard St. in Grand Rapids MI. It's the cleanest most organized Dollar General store I've ever seen and been in. It was unbelievable. Floors were clean and shiny. It's a big store with wide aisles, lots of great stuff. Staff were super friendly and asked if I needed anything. I congratulated the cashier on how her store looked. When I asked if it's always like this she apologized for the less than 30 items that weren't put on the shelves yet because they were under staffed. That's what all DGs say when asked why their stores look so bad. But despite that her small staff were able to do it so every other DG can do the same.

Dyonne Washington: This is the most trifling one I have ever seen. Looked online and none of the products were available, wasted trip.
William Bulson: While the staff is friendly, this locations seems to have no set hours. They can be closed in the middle of the day for no reason.
Alexis Eguia: I’m here on a Sunday at noon and the doors are locked and no one is answering the phone but all the lights are on. It states on google it’s supposed to be open. Very bad customer service.

Noah P.: This place used to be great, after Covid they constantly close early due to not having enough staff. Pay your workers more so people actually want to work or shorten the official hours you are open so you can consistently be open. It’s a joke coming here and it’s closed %80 of the time.

mia luv: Their phone line always has a busy signal no matter what time of day I try calling. Their doors are often closed during day time hours. And out of all the employees it's only one younger aged looking female that's been nice and easy to talk to , aside from her .. the employees are short with their attitude and not pleasant to communicate with. I personally understand why they are "short staffed" I wouldn't want to work with half those people either .
