Herbal Tea: LOVE eating here! The flavors are amazing. We always order the platter and enjoy the variety of flavors and textures. Been eating here for over a decade. I love eating vegetarian or vegan so this hits the spot for me. The food is consistent and so delish. Always leave STUFFED and HAPPY :) The Ethiopian tea is so yum! I can't enjoy it as often as I would like since caffeine keeps me awake and we always eat here at dinner time. Must stop for lunch to enjoy the tea too.

Sarah Mania: Went here on a Saturday night at 6:30 and were seated immediately, though most tables were full. No loud music and very spacious for a small restaurant. Two in our party were familiar with Ethiopian food and two weren't. Such an enjoyable dinner! The combo platter ($12.50/person) was the perfect amount of food for four people, and everything was delicious. The tea was super flavorful. And they now accept credit cards! The staff (Kassahun) is friendly and attentive, the food is delicious, and the environment is comfortable for families with kids.I've been going here for almost 10 years when I visit the Grand Rapids area, and I've never been disappointed with the quality of food. On occasion I've also had Ethiopian coffee here, which is prepared in front of you and then served, and it's very good.Having grown up in Ethiopia I think I can say that this place is authentic, and perfectly satisfies that craving of home.

It was nerve wrecking because I was alone and also in a place I have never tried before, but the lady who helped me was so welcoming that I felt at home. The service is top tier, the lady was kind enough to suggest the dish and showed me how to eat the proper way which made me felt so included. I got the sample one because I wanted to try a bit of everything and it was amazing. Portion wise, BIG (for a person maybe). I usually eat just a little but and got full right away, but if it comes to good tasting food, gosh darn that day I almost ate the whole plate. I lovee this place so much and would come back to try other dishes on the menu. The mango juice was good too (and A LOT).

Jason Stiles: I really enjoyed my experience at Go Jo. The staff was really nice and the food was excellent. We got the super vegetarian combo and it appeared that everything was made in house and very tasty. The coffee with accompanying incense was an interesting event. The decor is utilitarian but with an Ethiopian theme and the tables have glass tops with embroidered weavings. The biggest negative is that the restroom has a truck stop vibe and should be addressed. I'm shocked that the restaurant was empty when we came in for lunch on a Saturday as the quality of food was fantastic. It was a fun time and I'm looking forward to going again.

Me and my friend came 5' before the place opened on a stormy day, so we wait outside until they open, after a while, the opening sign didn't light up so we decided to call them, and learned that because of the bad weather they needed to delay the opening time. However, the owner was so nice that the moment he heard me and my friend are in front of the store, he said he will be on the way right away, please wait for him to come. After just 10', he showed up and kindly show us the way in, and he was really friendly, really welcoming and open to conversations. He seems to be the cook himself, he offers us a type of flat bread/cake (?) sorry I don't remember, as an apology and it tastes super familiar to one of my childhood snacks. He started cooking right after he guided us in, check in with us once in a while and specifically as for our taste preferences, what we think and how do we feel about the food. I love how energetic and passionate he is with his customers. Now, about the food, it was amazing. We ordered Fufu okra with chicken, anf salmon broccoli with rice, both of them were seasoned really well and just stimulate your taste buds right away. The fufu is soft but had a certain firmness to it, the chicken gotta be my favorite, it had a strong umamai flavor and it was huge as well. The salmon has a tangy/sour-ish flavor, which went really well with the rice that came within the dish. I wholeheartedly enjoyed the meal that day and would love to come back and try the turkey some day. Should check this place out, good food, great customer service, big portion, everything you coukd ask for in a restaurant!!

Allen Ross: Many interesting dishes for a diverse selection of tastes. Recommend sharing dishes between several people as I would not have wanted to eat a couple of our dishes as a single entree. The Bao were fab! If I was to get a single entree, the Bao would be it.
