Chelsea Kirby: This is the preferred Field’s Fabrics location. Customer service is great, they have an excellent selection and often times have things in the outlet building at great prices, that are still retail price at other Field’s locations. We went to three of the ones in the area when my mom was in town today, we picked up a beautiful fabric from the outlet building for $2.37/yard. At the Jenison location we saw the same fabric for $4.97/yard. Check out the outlet building first! Well worth it!

Charles Tisron: Needed a 2x2 foot 4 inch thick foam rubber piece for my aging dogs bed. The woman that helped me was quick efficient really nice. I was shocked at how much foam rubber costs. But she told me right away that it was a lot more expensive than people realized. But my dog deserves a comfortable bed and the stuffing that was in the Kong brand bed got all mashed to the side. Dexter my 100 lb. yellow lab is happy, so I'm happy

Sherry Rainer: I've shopped at Fields for 25 years and today may have been my last visit. When I entered the store at 5:15 I was immediately told by the two customer service women who were just standing around (obviously waiting to leave) that I only had 15 minutes to get what I needed. Now, it's not like it's a restaurant where I was showing up expecting to have a 2 hour sit down meal. They made it obvious that their main goal was to get out of there at 5:30,(Which one of them even said to me).They did help me and worked together to get me what I needed and I left at 5:28, but the atmosphere was uncomfortable and very off-putting from a customer's perspective. I felt like I was just an intrusion that was getting in their way. I've worked retail for many years and would never treat someone like that, even if it meant I would stay after work a few minutes to help them. If you're open until 5:30, that means a customer can walk in at 5:29 and expect to be helped. Please teach your staff to be nicer to people when they come in. If I'm unreasonable, let me know and I will respond accordingly.

Usually it's great, sometimes a bit overwhelming. You definitely have to dig a bit more for what you're looking for, but they really have a lot of beautiful stuff!This location does seem to be busy most times I stop in. Somedays that means a little less help or waiting a bit to check out, but that being said, I've never not had good customer service!

He asked two workers that were in the area for help finding the correct color, which he was looking for for my mom. They were so rude. One pointed both fingers to her eyes and said, "you have to use your eyes and your brain (pointed to her head) to figure out which is the right color for you." Needless to say, my dad did not purchase anything from here after being treated like that, after driving an hour to get there. People like that should not be working in the public. So rude and disgusting.

Today I made a pillow bed for my granddaughter using the "envelope method" with 60" wide fabric from Fields. The pictures didn't turn out well, but the pillow bed is very cute! I used instructions from the blog It's Always Autumn and from Olga Ling on YouTube.

Sarah Holmes: We left the location in Holland to come here because they were so rude. I'm so glad we did! The selection and customer service is unbeatable! They were not annoyed with my little dude who is very vocal and playful and even played cars with him while cutting fabric. They helped me figure out the math for what I needed with kindness and patience. This type of atmosphere should be the norm but it's rare to find 5 star customer service and selection. Employees who were working through our the store were not very kind but the tall skinny brunette working the counter was very sweet. DO NOT use the bathrooms here!!!!! I could not believe how dirty the bathroom was! I can certainly understand being busy and short staffed but there was dark thick dust on the toilet seat covers container, the stall doors, dirt all over the floors and walls. I would have felt more comfortable in a gas station bathroom in all honesty! Besides that if you need fabric and no potty breaks this is your place!

They have decorator fabrics, 100 % cottons, bolts and bolts of fleece, apparel fabric, flannel, trims, and notions galore. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. In my opinion, their quality and selection is superior to the large fabric and craft store.

After over 30 years of doing business this company started charging one price at check out on their web site and charging an extra $27 for a $10 item because they had to ship from 2 locations. They did this without informing me..When challenged for this illegal act, they lied and said they would have accounting call me back. After the old run-around and multiple calls management said they would issue a call tag and refund after they received the $10 item back. I will post if they do.

Maria Hernandez: Short version:They gave me the run around for 4 days. Never got the price quote I wanted for a discontinued fabric and found out on the 4th day that they no longer have enough of it for my project. They did on the 1st day, so if they hadn't given me the runaround, I could've purchased it.Long Version:I am a seamstress who does custom sewing, including the occasional non-apparel items. My client wanted a second set of covers made for the booth seats at her business. The existing covers were made with a fabric sold by Burch (and seemingly nowhere else). I called on Monday to ask about the fabric. I was told the fabric had been discontinued and that there were 15 yards left. At the time of the call, I wasn't sure if 15 yards would be enough for this project so I ended the call and double checked my math. When I was sure that 15 yards were enough (literally 5 minutes later) I called back. I couldn't get a hold of the person I originally spoke with so I tried to continue the conversation with a second rep.She told me that they could not provide a price on the fabric unless I opened an account with them so I told her to go ahead and send me the application. I received an e-mail within a few minutes. I filled out everything and provided all the documents they asked for. A few hours later I get an e-mail from a third rep saying that, upon further research, they recommend I apply to their other website JKBFabrics.com. I went to the website and searched for the fabric I needed but it was not listed on that website. I replied to the e-mail, that same day, asking for clarification as I had not been able to find the fabric I needed. They responded saying that not all fabrics they sell are listed on the JKB website and that if I wanted to order it, I would have to go through her directly.I replied to that message stating, again, which fabric I wanted including the color and yardage. She responded the following day on Tuesday saying that she couldn't find my account and therefore couldn't complete the order. I decided to call her to confirm whether I still needed to set up an account on the website even though the order would be made directly through her, over e-mail, and pertained to an item that was not listed anywhere on that website. She said yes, so I immediately went back to the website and created the account. I got an automated confirmation of my account creation which I forwarded to her so she would be aware.On Wednesday I still did not receive any further communication from the company so I sent her an e-mail requesting an update.No response on Thursday either so I tried to call again. This time, the phone played a recorded message saying to go to JKBFabrics.com and immediately hung up! It wouldn't let me through to any menus or dial any extensions.I went to the website thinking maybe there would be an update there. There wasn't. So, as a last ditch effort, I sent her another e-mail. This time, she responded almost immediately asking me to "please refresh her memory on which fabric I was looking for" By this point I had told this person 4 separate times (both e-mail and over the phone) which fabric, color, and yardage I needed. She responds by telling me that the fabric I'm looking for is discontinued (yeah, I knew this) and that they only had 4 yards left...unbelievable.If she has simply taken my order the first day, they would've been able to sell off the entire remaining fabric and both my client and I would have been happy. Instead they made me waste 4 days and now the fabric is gone.

They took great care of it and continues to work in impecable condition. The people who work there are very knowledgeable and willing to help out answering questions.

But they do have some decent deals as well. Mostly a lot of scrapbook stuff. Was disappointed that I couldn’t use a gift certificate & debit card at the same time. My order was more than my gift certificate covered and they made me pay all of it on my debit card. I’ll probably come back just to use the certificate but I don’t think I’ll be coming back very often after that.
