Terri Hodgson: I asked our salesperson Kate at Belden Brick when we purchased brick for $1100.00 and $250.00 delivery fee if the brick came on a pallet and KATE told us it did.Well, the delivery driver shows up and the brick bunk breaks apart before the driver even takes it off the Belden truck with it falling apart on the truck and the driver blaming the Belden Brick yard person for breaking the plastic straps. When I ask the driver why it is not on a pallet, the driver gets angry and the driver tells me it doesn't come on a pallet.When I email Kate after delivery to ask why the brick did not come on a pallet even though she told us it did when my husband and I were in person in Belden Brick purchasing the brick for $1100.00 and that I am now dealing with a bunk of brick falling apart because the brick bunk fell apart even more when the driver dropped the bunk of bricks where I wanted them.Kate then emailed me back to say we had to request a pallet. That's not what Kate said when we paid $1100 00 to her for the brick. Belden Brick likes to tell many different answers to one question. BEWARE!

M R: Navi helped me find a very specific garden hose I needed for an instacart client. It was in an odd place in the store I think bc it was a “seen on tv” kind of thing. It was super valuable to me personally that he was so calm and kind and seemed genuinely glad to help me out. Being in and out of a lot of stores I can tell you it’s rare to be helped by someone who seems like they want to help. His calm and friendly demeanor actually improved my mood too, it was awesome!

Rex and Traci Gulch: Highly recommend Polar Seal! We went with Polar Seal because they were local, had a reasonable price, and stand behind their product.We replaced all our house windows as well as our patio door. Our sales rep, Rachel, explained things well and offered some options on a couple of our windows that we had not considered. She was very responsive to our followup emails and answered all our questions.Our installers, Monty, John, and Chris, were amazing! They were extremely friendly, answered all our questions, very professional, and cleaned up afterwards really well. Very impressed from start to finish.
Richard Ignatowski: I got my windows I installed about 2 weeks ago and I should have been pleased but I was not.I should have watched the installer I think corners were cut.the two people he had with him were inexperienced and were young.they finished the trim and they put. 3/4" bead of caulk around the window and left exposed foam on the top that was not caulked or trimmed. The windows leaked on the bottom 2 corners(basement windows) when the wind blew.i called polar seal and they sent man down and all he did was trim high corner welds with a box cutter.Well it was windy and all the windows leaked.the corners on the bulb tape and weather seal had all the corners open it should be one continuous seal. I called 2 days ago still waiting on a response.what is the sense of getting new windows of they all leak. I am not happy with the polar seal windows at all I paid thousands for a window that was sub par including the design especially what di do now
Wendy Stuart: I had Polar Seals put windows in for me in 2020. The 3 guys that came to do the work didn’t do a very good job. So I had to have Polar Seals come back a few times to make it look good. I was very impressed with their effort to make things right and they worked hard to earn my customer satisfaction too! I was especially impressed with Rachael, Willard and Alan! They are very helpful, kind, friendly and have awesome customer service skills! (which lacks these days with employees, especially this generation.) Thank you Polar Seals for living up to your name! It’s hard to find businesses like this anymore! I would recommend them to my friends and family!

John Haga: Long 8 month lead time for patio door replacement but once the door was in they called to say they would be here at 7AM. They arrived by 7:15AM. The 2 man crew were very personable and proffessional. they finished by 10AM and were meticuloisly clean. the vacummed inside and out and even washed the glass so was sparkllng clean. Would definitely recomnend Polar Seal. Quality of door is excellent

Justin: I had several quotes for windows and I settled with Polar Seal because the sales rep (Rachel) was very nice and it was NO pressure sales, versus receiving multiple calls from other companies that tried to pressure me to make my decision quickly. The windows looked of good quality and their reviews seemed to be good. I waited about 7+ months for the install from the time I put down my down payment, and I knew about the wait times, so I was perfectly okay with all of that. When I did receive the call for my windows to be put in I was excited to finally have windows that didn't leak! I was told it would take 1-2 days and the install was scheduled. The crew came and they seemed friendly and they started the job. The entire time they were doing the job I felt like I had to watch everything they did, cause they were trying to cut corners with foam and if I wouldn't have requested them to replace some of the rotten wood, it would have been left there. There were so many small things that they just would have let be if I didn't speak up, and I feel those things should have not required me to say a thing! I wasn't confident about the job and how the windows were being mounted to thin wood that was barely even attached to the cinder block, that I was told I should contact the supervisor there, cause the main installer said he didn't feel confident about attaching HIS name to this job. The supervisor came out and tried to ensure me that everything would be okay and that the install would be fine. After 4 days of them being here and me constantly reminding them to use foam in spots where it was obvious they should and plenty of other things, I was just worn out and feel I picked a company that didn't care about quality work. They had to re-do some of the aluminum wrap around a few windows and instead of scraping the caulk that was previously used, they caulked OVER the existing caulk! That is something that you just don't do if you want good adhesion and you want the job to look professional. It was just issue after issue and they finally got done and didn't clean any of the windows and broke one of the screens. I called the owner cause I felt like he should know about my experience and he said he would have the issues addressed and I never heard back until I called back weeks later. The screen was finally replaced and they came and re-caulked a few spots, but all in all I definitely would NOT do this over again! For the price I paid I feel like they should have been close to perfect, but the caulking around some of the windows looks like a beginner did the work and I feel like if I hadn't been there than who knows what they wouldn't have done properly. I'm hoping if any issues arise the warranty will be honored, but I just cannot recommend Polar Seal at this time and I REALLY didn't want to write this review...

Trevor S: Before I called Polar Seal, I shopped around and came across another window company who gave me a quote for 11 new vinyl replacement windows. Quoted me onsite for white in/white out, 9 double hung windows, and 2 large picture windows, ~$16k. For white in/black out the price jumped to almost ~$18k. Not being in the window market for awhile I decided to call Polar Seal, man I'm glad I did.Lisa came out and was very pleasant and helpful. She offered alternative suggestions to our window needs and was able to configure our window spaces for a more efficient product. Polar Seal quoted me ~$10k for 8 Double Hung windows. We were able to drop a few double hung in lieu of a sliding window, or replacing it with a picture window.I also appreciated that Polar Seal uses aluminum screens rather that the fiberglass, I was also attracted to the locally made product that provided jobs here locally in GR. For a company that's been local for 70+ years and still providing quality products means they stand by their product and warranty.The only downfall with Polar Seal was the lead time (install around October), but being in the construction industry, I am more than understanding about current lead times in these difficult times.I will update once they are installed October!

Thomas Spica: After five quotes from companies in the area to replace my original metal frame living room and dining room windows that didn't open I decided to go with Polar Seal and was not disappointed. My decision was based on a few factors; first, they build their own products here and guarantee the work, Second, they have their own hired in crew (no subcontracting for install), and lastly, their price was reasonable. I did encounter an issue with one of the windows post install, but they stood by their customer satisfaction guarantee and were quick to take a look and address it. My windows look great and I can't wait for warmer weather to open them and let some fresh air in!

Mistah J: “Paul Hamilton” spent an hour explaining what his team can do, and then another hour waiting on the phone with Home Depot credit card to approve. Got approved, agreed to the work (cabinet laminate applied, new cabinet drawers installed, new cabinet doors installed, new sink, and new countertops). Paul walked us through what would happen when work started. He’d be there day 1, along with his team for introductions, and then he’d hand off to the team to get the work done. Day comes, and no Paul only a single, independent contractor. Confirmed with the contractor the work to be done, and he has no idea about the countertops. Little weird but okay, Paul mentioned there would be a trainee to get some work experience sandpapering. Whole week goes by and there’s only that one contractor doing all the work who has no idea about our countertops and sink. Call his manager and same thing, no clue about the countertop and sink. Call Paul now and he says, “did you order countertops? Let me call you back later when I’m done with my client.” Calls me back the next day and says, “you didn’t order any countertops.” We go back and forth about what we spoke about, and he says he needs to talk to his manager and call me back. Paul calls back and says because he and I can’t agree, his manager “Reese Boosini” would call us to talk details about what we could do. Waited a week for that call and nothing, now 3 months later and haven’t heard anything. To top it all off, I had to call the credit card support number because they removed our special promotion. Support was able to reapply it but just another to watch for some this business of scammers.
emotionsickchick: Purchased a dishwasher ($1000 paid at purchase, not credit) on December 18 and arranged for delivery, which wasn’t available until January. This wasn’t an issue though as we were moving in January and preferred a delivery date shortly after we moved in. Delivery date was arranged for January 28. Two days before the arranged date of delivery we get notice that our delivery date is now pushed out to February 15, two and a half weeks later. After calling several provided numbers and finally talking to someone who seems to know something, not much but something, it’s discovered that Home Depot sold the appliance in question without actually knowing for sure they’d have it in stock to deliver, which they don’t. I don’t suppose this is too out of the ordinary, as there are plenty of places dealing with inventory and supply issues. It is what it is.More frustrating than the delay, which is frustrating enough, is that the person on the phone told us that after delivery Home Depot will try to make it a little better by offering some sort of incentive or something, only she can’t disclose what it might be. I suspect they don’t disclose anything about this incentive in the case that you find out it’s something like $5 off your next $1000 purchase made in 7 days or something that’d likely make you cancel your purchase all together and just go elsewhere.If that’s not enough, the most frustrating thing is that I can look online for the exact dishwasher and add it to my cart as if I’m buying it and the earliest delivery date offered to me is February 10, a full five days earlier than the date they’ve given me for the item that’s already bought and paid for 6+ weeks ago.Tony in the appliance department at this location is fantastic and he’s the reason the rating isn’t lower. Five stars for Tony, 1 star for the dishwasher delivery experience at this location.Edit to update: Today is February 15, friends, and instead of getting our call 30 minutes ahead of delivery we got a call saying the HD delivery truck got stuck in the mud this AM and was still stuck, as of 2:30. I was prompted to call a number to reschedule my delivery date. I had hoped there would be some sort of priority given to people who had been forced not once but twice to reschedule, but alas, the soonest availability is a week away. Whatever compensation is given when they delay your delivery better be twice as good, since we’re on delivery date #3 now. Hope the delivery on the 22nd goes off without a hitch, crossing my fingers but not holding my breath.
Brian: Went to get a 36 mm impact socket. They had no impacts of that size, and only a regular socket. Plus, it was 12 sided, not 6, and was an obvious return due to the gouges in the edges and hammer marks as well. Of course, they only had one.

Doug Snyder: We had an appointment to get a quote for a new sunroom. I received one voicemail and two separate texts confirming our appointment the next day. On the day of our appointment I received a text saying the rep had a schedule conflict and couldn't make it. I called the number it said to for rescheduling. I explained we were upset and it was unprofessional to get a text that close to the appointment that they were not showing up. The lady said that she would ask the Grand Rapids area manager to call me. I never heard back from anyone. The only communication I received was a "quality survey" about our appointment. They obviously are not very organized and could care less about customer service. I am surely not going to hire them for a project if that can not even manage their appointments. Will never use this company.

andy herbst: Had a quote yesterday. I told them this is my second of 3 quotes I’m getting. First thing I was told is the offer is for today only and pricing will go up tomorrow. As soon as I told him the price of my other quote I received he quoted me more then double almost tripled the other quote. First quote was for 22k for a house full of windows and he quoted me 40-60k without even measuring 1 window. He asked why I called them and I told him I seen the buy 2 get two promotion and he told the cheapest window they make starts off at $3000. The windows were installed a couple days ago by Will and Wayne (don't quote me on their names... I can't remember for sure), and again it was very professionally done and they did a great job cleaning up afterwards. They were also very helpful when it came to working around my crazy dogs. Even though it's only been a few days, we have already noticed a significant difference in how much cooler our house stays during the day. Our windows face East/West so the house used to significantly heat up once the sun would rise. A special discount will be offered that is only valid until the salesman leaves. This can trigger a "must sign now" reaction in people of a certain generation. This is an unscrupulous but common practice. Top quality companies should give you their best price in an estimate good for 30-60 days.They will also try (2022) to sign you up with their financing partner, Greensky. That company has paid millions in federal fines for deceptive and predatory lending practices in the past. Talk to your own bank or credit union first. If you qualify for a home improvement loan or home equity line of credit you may get better terms and interest rates.
