ashish shah: Lawn mowing staff is reckless and does not care for lawn at all . They just completing their routes and not caring for the lawn . My lawn was damaged by the mowers and when I reached staff in office they were helpless too . I used them for one season only and would not try again ever .
Heidi Mangione: Alfresco handled our snow removal needs this past year for our 450ft long driveway. We've used 4 different companies and Alfresco has been the absolute best! Only took 5 years, but we've finally settled on who we will always use. Communication, performance, cost, everything was fantastic! We've told all of our family and friends to use Alfresco for all lawn care and snow removal needs...and some day when we have more disposable income, we'd love to have them design new landscaping for our property too!
Chew Boka: Excellent Service! I was looking for a year round summer lawn, landscape and winter driveway service. I received a card in the mail and received a very reasonable quote for year round service. I found the Summer lawn and Fall cleanup service to always be ABOVE & BEYOND quality. They always go the EXTRA MILE and treat my yard as they would want their own lawn to appear. This is my second year of snow plow service and they also go ABOVE & BEYOND to clean the driveway as they would their own. I am VERY HAPPY with Alfresco Landscapes! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you give them a try and see for yourself the excellent quality of service from the service staff as well as the Office Staff.
Kym Steffes: We hired Alfresco Landscapes to take an over grown rock garden with dying pine trees. They came in and drew up a plan for a new look. They changed the topography with a bulldozer. Brought in some beautiful pines that we choose as well as a very beautiful Japanese Weeping Maple tree. Selected the most beautiful perennials. They brought in beautiful Michigan Boulders. Their crew turned an eye sore into a beautiful garden. It is absolutely gorgeous. Also, not only done to perfection, but all in one day. #extremelypleasedinRockford

Our other home had amazing deck surrounded by perennials, a large shade tree and so much!We found UPlant Landscape at the home and garden show and that was a blessing! Sandy came to our home, listened to what we hoped to achieve, took pics and shortly after sent email with a detailed planting list and pictures of the vision, all detailed with type of tree/bush. It was amazing ! We had so much fun picking out each item - making substitutions as needed but staying within the scale she intended for growth.We now have a beautiful yard with fire pit, new concrete with Gazebo for shade. We recently moved into a new house, and I spent a good part of the summer trying to come up with a design plan for some tricky beds around the house. I spent needless time, energy, and cash on plants that did not work for the soil conditions and sun/shade requirements. Sandy to the rescue. She developed a realistic plan, complete with a mix of plants and foliage that gives interest all year long AND discourages the local deer herd from nibbling my new plants. She gave expert tips for planting, and where and how to acquire the plants she recommended. Very happy with her service!

Juanita Westaby: I’ve thought long and hard about posting a negative review, because I usually don’t post reviews for anything, let alone negative ones. I feel a real duty to warn here, however. We are fairly experienced gardeners but we turned to Sandy because we have a tough situation with sandy soil and pretty heavy shade around our patio. We wanted something to lend a nice backdrop, something natural-looking. We felt we weren’t listened to, and what was suggested was too formal for what we wanted. We sent pictures suggesting what we liked hoping for a better result, but it was not to be. Sandy uses a simple cut-and-paste graphic computer application that really can’t “design” anything. We expressed our concerns, she made a change that really didn’t address our desires. She then began pressing us for payment before she would release the plant list. We thought, well at least we’ll get some good suggestions and we can make a more natural garden. I looked at her list after my credit card was charged and it was full of plants that we have tried that have failed! If she had taken the time to ask what we’ve done over the last 30 years she would have known this.The other half of the list were things we already have that we’re sick of. I’m so sad about this. She seems like a nice lady, but she is not a landscape gardener by any means. I’m out $195 I could have put toward toward a different professional. I can afford it, I guess, but if money is really tight for you, please save for a couple of more years and go with someone with more expertise.

It's great being able to purchase and plant as your time and budget allows rather than paying expensive landscaper fees all at once. we'd highly recommend UPlant!
Casey Davis: Sandy was beyond wonderful to work with. She listened to what I wanted my space to look like, and really came through with an amazing layout. I don’t know anything about plants/flowers, so a listing of what would work there and what to buy was exactly what I needed, she even helped direct me to local nurseries that typically carried what she had listed for me. She did include exact steps of what to do, how to plant them, and how to maintain them, which was perfect. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a little bit of help to get a wonderful landscape.

John Sisson: AJ was wonderful to work with! We had a huge eyesore at the edge of our property that ruined the view from our patio. We contacted Schafer Landscaping and AJ came out within a couple of days to discuss the creation of a natural screen/wall of arbor vitae with us. He was also willing to do some re-mulching of a large garden bed, as well as removal of some unwanted foliage. He kept in frequent contact with us as our project date crept closer, and throughout the actual design and landscaping he was in constant contact. The project was AMAZINGLY done, with incredible focus on detail. It came in under-budget and AJ was transparent every step of the way. I walk down the hand chiseled pathway to the uniquely colorful stones used to create a wall that is reinforcing our embankment. The path takes me past an assortment of lush green bushes,with splashes of vibrant and colorful flowers and plants..entwined among eye catching boulders and stones. I must mention my stunning Green Lace Japanese Maple that A.J found for us..which is the focal point of my Amazing dry creek bed! We have an assortment of really pretty and functional plants to help stop the erosion on our creek embankment, and some produce berry's that our many birds will enjoy for years to come. We had A.J build a new retaining wall for us, that will also last for years to come. lol..I have a really nice Dogwood tree and a couple of very striking boulders in that section. A.J pruned our old Apple tree and I swear it brought the old girl back to life!! He also went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we asked of him. And for the finishing touch he laid down black mulch, which makes our backyard "pop " !! I could not have a bad day sitting out here if I tried! I cannot say enough about the phenomenal job A.J has done!! He kept in constant touch with us every step of the way, which we really appreciated. He listened to our thoughts and ideas, and like the true Artist he is..made them come to life! So,as I sit here listening to the relaxing sounds of nature..watching my beautiful flowers and plants swaying as a gentle breeze blows across the creek..I say..Thank You A.J, for creating our very own Heaven on Earth!! MEGAN REWA: I don't know where to begin, I have so many positive things to say about Roots Wild! My family moved into a new (to us) house that lacked serious curb appeal. I was hesitant that anything would make me actually like the exterior of our home. 🤪 We began looking into garden design and landscaping companies. Through the grapevine, we heard about Roots Wild. Right from the get-go, we were blown away by their responsiveness, their knowledge, and the passion for plants that Joel shared with us. He came out, talked through some ideas for garden design, and honestly taught us so much about native plants and his approach to his work. The graphics/designs he sent us were BEAUTIFUL!! couldn't believe our yard could look so beautiful, colorful, and whimsical. All different colors, plant heights, flowering periods - thoughtfully laid out.Joel and his team worked looooong days and even in the snow, rain, and dark! Their commitment to our timeline and obvious strong work ethic impressed us very much!! Even now, after our plants have had an entire season to grow and bloom, Joel came to help teach us even more about maintenance and plant care and answered a few questions we had.So many positive things to say. I did not know Joel or his wife prior to hearing about them from someone else in the industry (who raved about him). Yet, Joel and Erika were easily relatable. Richard Alexander: Joel did an extensive redesign of the landscaping on all sides of our house, with an emphasis on native plants, especially those that attract pollinators. All the plants you see in the pictures will grow and fill in over the next few years. Joel clearly approached his work seriously but with a refreshing sense of joy. He and his crew had to do massive prep work (i.e., removing grass, weeds, and non-native plants) before starting the extensive planting. He also installed an above-ground sprinkling system, plus three dry-bed drainage channels to keep run-off from damaging the plants. Joel clearly paid a lot of attention to detail and getting things right. He and his crew were reliable, neat, and completed the project on time. Was planning on installing new landscaping myself, but after thinking through it (and realizing I didn't have the time or knowledge to do it right) decided to bring Joel and the Roots Wild team in to do it for me. Best decision ever. They did the entire job in just over three days, and we are super happy with the outcome. Ashley Solnik: Where to even begin. From the very first initial consultation Joel and Erika were professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They responded very quickly to my inquiry and set up a time to meet.On the day of the consultation, Joel came out and met with my husband (I got stuck at work) and came back a few weeks later with an entire design plan. He took the time to walk both my husband and I through the plans separately as we were working on getting our daughter ready for bed even though he still had another job to get to after meeting with us.Joel worked extremely hard to implement his design for us, started sooner than we expected and finished up sooner than planned as well. He always let us know when he would be working and made sure to check in often to see if we had questions and if we were happy with the plans/progress.
