Michelle Szot: Visited the store today with my hubby. Walked in and there were 3 ladies behind the desk. Not one of them welcomed us nor made any eye contact what so ever.No hello. No can I help you.Customer service has gone down the tubes since Covid. I was so frustrated we left. I surely will not buy anything from them in the future.
Lexi Higley: Highly recommend GRLC. They did an amazing job with fixing my lamp. The staff is very kind and very knowledgeable. They worked with me to go over shade and bulb options as well.
David: It's a nice showroom, and I do assign some value to that. However, their pricing is off the rails. My wife recently purchased a ceiling fan here, and the same EXACT fan retails for nearly 35% less at every online retailer that sells ceiling fans. It was a Kichler brand fixture, so nothing terribly unique or rare. Just costs a ton more at Grand Rapids Lighting.I'm not lying when I tell you that for the price difference, I could have purchased the fixture online, then paid a licensed electrician to install it, and STILL come out ahead.We returned the fixture. I like to support local retailers, but my loyalty has limits.

Bill Cleveland: Came into Grand Rapids Lighting Center in search of 3 new ceiling fans for a new house we recently purchased in Grand Rapids. We also needed to replace a number of light fixtures. When I asked to see the ceiling fans, I was escorted to the area and then abandoned, despite having a lot of questions. I saw a number of light fixtures that may have worked. However, the lack of attentiveness of the staff encouraged me to shop elsewhere.

Gloria Alberta: A great selection of fixtures and light supplies. My fixture shorted out and I was there to buy a new one. I was very thankful that the gentleman who helped us ,offered to have their repairman try to fix it. It is a great place to find hard to find bulbs. Very friendly and helpful service.

I showed him a photo of the look that I was going for and he cut me off and snapped “that’s not a brand we carry”.I also got the feeling that he looked down on me because at first, I inquired about replacing the glass on my pendant lights. He said would probably be a better value to replace the whole light- which is fine! I’m pretty sure I’ll do that.I went into the store instead of shopping online because I wanted to support a local business and was disappointed to be treated like that.
Tim VanAntwerp: Ok, the good. 1.5 hours from home. 5 light fixtures purchased. They were in stock. We drove home with the fixtures.. The bad.. The store was busy. We had to work with two different reps to complete our task. Fixtures are expensive, but they offered a discount. Who knows? The ugly: One fixture was damaged, repaired finish at home. Fixtures came with lamps...why did I spend $60 for lamps...oh well...spares. Overall 4.5 stars. We got fixtures, installed them, and its done. One trip. In stock. Yes I would recommend the Grand Rapids Lighting Center.

They will probably have what you need and if not can special order for you. They also participate in all of the Consumers Energy rebate programs to help save money.

Marty Pickering: Ugh...thank goodness for Verizon's Call Blocker feature in their smartphones. This LEaDer Lights company keeps calling my cell phone day after day, after day. I finally blocked them with the Call Blocker app. Not my smart watch will vibrate and I'll have a notification from the Call Blocker app on my phone telling me that a call from LEaDer Lights has been blocked. It makes me smile every time. It is not a good business practice to harass people by phone to try and get them to buy your product. Sorry LEaDer Lights but I'm not spending a dime with you. 😒
DAYS EDW: We had such a great experience converting our factory over LED lights with Leader Lights. Very professional and our electric savings is actually higher than they told us!

Anne M: Doing a major remodel on a house and was recommended to Kendall by our builder. Spent 2 hours of our time with Nichelle picking out lighting for our entire house. Only to have her never respond to any of our emails, calls or texts again. Tried to contact her multiple times over 2 months and just she never responded. Had the builder reach out and she never got back to him either. What a waste of time. Ended up at Grand Rapids lighting center and had a much better experience. Don’t waste your time at Kendall.
Jennifer Deming: Working with Kendall makes my job easier! As an interior designer in West Michigan, I have been working with Kendall for over 5 years. My rep Nichelle is prompt when responding to emails and so incredibly helpful. Navigating the right LED bulb is weirdly important... Nichelle is simply the best!
