SimplyBorn Birth Center: what do users think?
Bryana Billewicz: From the very beginning, the entire simplyborn team made us feel welcome. During every appointment, we were always greeted with smiles and kindness. Sara made sure to make us as comfortable as possible during pregnancy as well as delivery. Sara is knowledgable and was extremely helpful when we had any concerns/questions. It is very apparent that Sara is passionate about her career and her patients. We highly recommend her and would go to her again with future pregnancies. We could not have asked for a better experience. We gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl on our third wedding anniversary last August.
Genna Giacobassi: I've been meaning to write this review for a really long time -- my son was born over 3 years ago now! Such is life. It took my husband and I over 7 years to bring our child into the world. Sara was with us for 3 of our miscarriages, even helping us from afar once when we were overseas. She was very present to our grief, with smart miscarriage advice and support as we physically and emotionally processed those losses. We learned so much from her.We decided, several months into our last pregnancy, that our idea of using a hospital midwife in order to save money was off-track for us, and we asked her if we could birth our son at her birth center. It was a stretch for us financially, but incredibly important for us to have the birth our way, and because of our history with Sara it was a no-brainer to go with Simply Born. But I remember filling out the paperwork and signing off on the terms related to potential transfer to a hospital, and my husband and I both commented on what a waste of money it would be if we had to do that...But we were wrong -- because that's exactly what happened, and it turned out to be the best money we ever spent. No couple who has dreamed of a home birth wants to end up transitioning to a hospital, and we were very fortunate to have had 24 beautiful hours of birthing experience at the birth house (yeah, we had candles and essential oils and drumming -- the whole 9). But when things became emergent, it was with the gentle but firm and wise guidance of Sara and her amazing team that we made the move. And they stayed with us through ENTIRE hospital experience, smoothing the way (Sara has spent years fostering a positive connection with the hospital, a minor miracle in today's political/medical climate) and making sure that our choices were respected and that we had the best experience possible. I can't possibly go into all the ways that Sara and her team helped to make the hospital experience as wonderful as it turned out to be, but suffice it to say, I regularly reflect on how things went down and count my blessings that we had Simply Born in our corner. The postnatal care was also absolutely invaluable. Here I am years later, feeling filled with gratitude for Simply Born, as I watch my little miracle kid try to take apart his dad's computer. Haha. I can't recommend Simply Born enough. Thank you, Sara and team -- you are THE BEST!
jack Zieger: I was referred to simply born by a coworker and We had an absolutely wonderful experience with sarah and couldnt be happier. We had our baby 4 months ago and she is happy and healthy. Simply born were absolutely amazing with their service and were always up front about everything. I would trust them with our second baby whenever she comes! The birthing house was clean and immaculate for us when we got there. They took care of everything during the birth and we were back home in less than 4 hours after the baby was born. I will reccomend them to anyone having a baby!!
Aubrey Serba: Looking back on my experience, it seemed like she wanted to get rid of me throughout the whole pregnancy. It was my first pregnancy and I was so excited to not have to go through a hospital and I could experience a home birth. I do have factor 5 Leiden and when I did the very first interview, she told me they had plenty experience with woman who had this. I didn’t have any complications during pregnancy other than low progesterone and iron, but it wasn’t any big concern. I was almost 2 weeks over due and she called me into the office to tell me that she’s not comfortable doing the birth. She had 9 months to let me know, but she waited until the last minute to redirect me to a hospital birth. I went to the hospital with all labs and paperwork from simply born and one of the nurses asked what I was doing at the hospital because there was no reason to be there. I know of a few women as of lately that this has happened to, where she quits on you last minute. Therefore I don’t recommend her because she robbed me of the experience. I had an amazing delivery at the hospital and I’m so grateful that everything went perfectly there. I don’t know if she’s doing this for the money or what because you do have to pay upfront, but just beware that she easily quits on you.
Amy Savage: I switched to SimplyBorn around the 34th week of pregnancy from a different birth center midwife due to moving. I'm so thankful they were able to accept me as a late transfer. Sara and Brooke attended my son's birth at the birth house. They were amazing, they gave us space but attended to us as needed when the time came! Every piece of information Sara gave us from beginning to end was spot on! I'm thankful to have had their care for birth experience & look forward to my son's and my follow up visits. Also the rest of the office staff is very friendly and all in all I am very pleased :)
Elizabeth Sanborn: The ladies of SimplyBorn are amazing. I highly recommend them. They are very professional and down to earth. They give advice and tips but let you make the final decision I never felt forced to do anything I wasn't comfortable with. If I have anymore kids after this one I will definitely be using their services again.
Bekah: I trust Sara and her team with my life. Literally. My first pregnancy was taken care of at a hospital. At the hospital, I dealt with rushed, uncompassionate care most of the time, and they did not take the time to educate me on all options, so I felt forced into an induced labor. I ended up developing pretty severe postpartum depression and anxiety that went unchecked for several months. I promised myself that I would do it differently the next time. I read in Ina May's Guide to Childbirth that home births and birth centers had very few cases of PPD, so I contacted Simply Born to become a client when baby #2 came. We figured out that paying for my care out of pocket there was actually cheaper than the giant hospital bills- even with insurance. That was a big surprise to me! Sara and the other midwives I had the privilege of meeting (Audrey was there for me regularly) really poured a lot of attention and love into me and my family. My husband felt so included in every visit. With everything that we did, I would be given resources so I was able to research it myself and consent before anything was done. I've never had a provider who was so passionate about informed consent- it really empowered me to take control of my own body and health! When the time for my son to be born, Sara let me follow my instincts and labor naturally, giving suggestions only when needed. It was a gentle and peaceful birth. I did have a postpartum emergency, which she (and her assistant Andrea, and student midwife Everest) handled quickly, and made me feel very at peace with. She has so many resources to help families in this journey from beginning to end!
Danielle Dershem: The SimplyBorn team has been incredible through my whole pregnancy and delivery of my child. After a traumatic hospital csection with my first born, we opted for a 100% natural minimally invasive labor & delivery with baby #2. We toured the birth house as soon as we found out that we were expecting and started our prenatal care soon after. I cannot speak more highly of the team here allowing me to birth in the way that felt natural to my body and never pressured for additional procedures.I'm exceptionally grateful for the in-home 24hr checkup. Not having to go anywhere for a checkup was awesome.
Nontobeko Harrington: They were so amazing loved how much they cared for me it was my first baby and they gave me all the support I wanted and wished for
Samantha Murphy: Reflecting back to a year ago, I'm so grateful for the simply born team and being able to welcome our son at the birth house. From beginning to end we felt educated, confident and supported in the way we wanted our birth to go, and when he decided he was coming breech I never once stressed or felt uneasy because of the teams calm confidence.
Kristen Terhune: Birthing at the Simply Born birth house was an excellent choice for us, as I didn’t want any birth interventions that I felt were inevitable in a hospital setting.Sara and her team exude confidence and have so much experience it was easy to trust them. They very much encouraged me to trust myself and that my body and baby would know what to do.Prenatal visits feel like talking to a friend in their living room, and there’s nothing clinical or impersonal about them. Sara had a thorough and thoughtful answer for all of my questions.
Brittany Carpenter: I loved working with Sara's team at SimplyBorn Midwifery Services. I transferred my care over around 20 weeks and began seeing Sara for my prenatal care. I opted to birth at the Birth House, and it was a great experience. Even throughout my commute (I'm from Kalamazoo), semi-complicated pregnancy, and birth that had more than one unexpected event, Sara was level-headed, supportive, and assisted me emotionally and physically. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a midwife for their pregnancy/birth!
Kaitlin Chitta: Having Sara and the Simply Born team deliver our daughter was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we arrived, they helped us feel at home, and confident we were making the right decision for us to have the birth experience we wanted. Sara is so incredibly knowledgeable and is always willing to take the time to teach, and truly listens. Sara also cares not only about the mother and the baby, but the family as a whole. Knowing that I was in amazing hands led to me having a smooth, peaceful and powerful birth. I am forever grateful to Sara and the staff at Simply Born.
Brittany Peasley: Absolutely loved birthing my babies with Simply Born! They tailor care to each individual and will always make sure mama and baby are in the best hands!I can’t imagine a more perfect way to bring new life into the world💛
Courtney Harkema: I cannot say enough about Sara & her team. Growing and birthing our baby with them was the best decision we’ve ever made. From the prenatal visits, to random “is this normal” questions, to birth, and postpartum care - they were with us every single step of the way, whenever we needed it. We appreciated Sara’s infinite wisdom and boldness to speak truth over all situations, ultimately letting us decide what was right for our family as well as her calm, confident, reassuring presence as your bring your baby earth-side...it’s priceless. You want Sara on your team when birthing you baby!
B D: Sara, Charis, Kendra, and the entire team are remarkable. They are knowledgeable and experienced midwives, lifelong teachers for us, and they are compassionate, supportive, patient, loving, fun people. As lost first-time parents, we luckily found Sara midway into our pregnancy. She was so reassuring, and addressed all our concerns about wanting a more natural, home birth. We knew immediately we had found the right path. She offered us options, empowerment, confidence and excitement for what has been the biggest journey of our lives. We have so much gratitude for Sara and the Simply Born team, best decision, highest recommendation.
Megan Eberly: Sarah and her team are amazing! Our birth experience was exactly what we had hoped for. Sarah recommends taking a birth class with Raquel (Grand Rapids Natural Birth and Pregnancy) DO IT! Raquel is so knowledgeable, he class is packed full of information, but it’s presented in a way that’s not overwhelming. Her class is the reason I was able to make it through the hard parts of labor. Seriously, the class is an additional cost, but worth every single penny!
Lindsey L: Such a perfect experience at simply born with Sara and her team! I love everyone there and couldn’t have imagined giving birth anywhere else!
Kristen Martin: If you want to be in good hands before, during and after birth— choose Simply Born! I wouldn’t have wanted my first birth experience any other way and I’m so grateful to the Simply Born team. Sara and her team are extremely knowledgeable and always stayed two steps ahead, prepared for the unknown and supportive all along the way. I greatly appreciated each and every woman on the team. My baby boy had the most peaceful entrance to the world possible. I will be back for baby number two :)
Rachel De Graff (RachDG): After having two children in the hospital and not being listened to by my care providers before or after my delivery, I wanted a change when I found out that I was expecting my third child. I went to Simply Born because of Sara's experience and reputation within the birth community. I was NOT disappointed!I was listened to and cared for at every appointment. I was listened to and cared for by the wonderful staff and other midwives at Simply Born. My third delivery was vastly different from my first two. I was supported and encouraged in an environment that infused confidence in me to deliver my baby. My husband and I both agree, however many children we have from here we want Sara and the Simply Born family to be a part of their birth story!
Dr. Danielle Sinclair: I loved birthing with simply born. The care that Sara and her student midwifes provided was second to none. I delivered my first child at the birth house with confidence in the process. The prenatal visits made me feel well prepared and well taken care of. If I am blessed with a second child I would definitely have them on my team again!

Erin Reisner: I am forever grateful for our home birth experience with Yolanda. From the time she took with us at our prenatal appointments to her calming presence during labor, she made the whole process just feel so effortless. This was my first home birth (second pregnancy) and the experience compared to birthing at the hospital was night and day. Yolanda made us feel like we were a part of the whole experience and not just another patient. She explained everything thoroughly and honestly and always made sure I was taken care of and feeling my best. I will definitely be reaching out to Yolanda for our future births. Thank you Yolanda for being a rock for us during this whole journey!

Emerald Zittel: Yolanda is nothing short of incredible. She has been helping women deliver babies for over 40 years. She has helped deliver thousands of newborns and her experience is so evident. As a young girl I watched her help my mother through some complicated circumstances with my siblings and I always remembered her bringing me so much peace as a child. Fast forward over 20 years and I was so blessed to be able to have her help deliver my own baby into this world. She is professional, empathetic, and yet she never avoids telling you what your priorities need to be in order to deliver the healthiest baby possible. She has a wealth of knowledge and resources readily available and makes herself available as well for any and all concerns. Yolanda helped me through a long and arduous labor with many struggles. While I wasn't sure how I was going to do it, she was supportive and direct. Always calm and constant which is exactly what we needed her to be. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to have a healthy and successful natural home birth with minimal recovery time and a beautiful healthy baby. I can't imagine going with anyone else.
Danielle Brennan: Incredible experience with Yolanda + Birth Song from prenatal through postpartum care. She is kind, knowledgeable and empowering -- loved borrowing books from her lending library and preparing for birth together. She was very patient in answering questions, providing resources and including my husband in the process. We loved our experience so much we are working with her again for baby #2 :)
Taylor Clason: We could not have asked for a more positive prenatal, birth, and postpartum care experience. Yolanda has practiced for so long, we were confident she could handle anything our birth presented. She filled us with confidence, not only in regards birthing at home, but in the entire pregnancy and birthing process. After two discouraging prenatal experiences with my older children, I am so thankful for the relaxed, confident, encouraging, and empowering experience we had the entire pregnancy. Not to mention a beautiful birth and a healthy baby! We would choose Yolanda 100 times over.
Debra Gommesen: Yolanda assisted at 5 of my births back in the '90's. Wonderful!
Kaeleigh Melton: Yolanda gave us the education we needed to have the birth we wanted. We are forever grateful for her care and expertise throughout our pregnancy and her attention to detail and energy during labor and birth. Yolanda was recommended to us by many and we will join the choir in singing her praises as well!
Molly Bohjanen: Yolanda is absolutely amazing! I have had two home births with her. The prenatal care and hands on care before, during and after birth, are incredible. She truly is the best! I highly recommend her and her service's.
Lisa Finkbeiner: Grand Rapids is beyond fortunate to have Yolanda. Her experience, knowledge, and compassion is incomparable. She has a belief in birth that is extraordinary, natural, and rational. From prenatal, birth, through postpartum she was completely empowering. She fostered confidence in me, my body, baby, and partner. She helped us feel safe, educated, and nurtured. Her presence is truly grounding and I’m so grateful to have had her by our sides through the beautiful journey of pregnancy and birth. THANK YOU!
Joseph Hull: We could not have been more pleased with our experience with Birth Song. Yolanda offers a wealth of experience, education, and tenderness that gave my wife and I profound peace and confidence in the months leading up to, and during our birth. We hope to work with her again!
Melisa Townsend: Yolanda is amazing! She's extremely knowledgeable and supportive! She helped to make our birth perfect. She also delivered four babies for three of my friends and they all had great experiences with her. I recommend her to anyone who's considering and/or determined to have a home birth!
Ryan Klier: Yolanda is an incredible resource and she has vast experience which sets the mother at ease. We have had 5 babies with her and they have all been great experiences. If you have thought about having a birth at home, I would encourage you to explore it with Yolanda and see if it is right for you. Oh, and if you have one at home, you'll never want to do it another way. :)
Emily Ann: Had the best experience with Yolanda. The care she provides is top of the line. Would highly recommend.
Orion Maple: My wife and I have used Yolanda for the birth of both of our songs and with each one she was very well prepared, and very professional and offered many options when it came time for the birth for things like what can be comfortable and what things can help the labor be quicker. She gives great prenatal care and advice, things that prepare the mother's body to be able to give birth quicker and more comfortably. She also used to work for Harvest Health, so she can give you plenty of advice for natural methods and homeopathics. We sometimes call her still with our own problems to see what her suggests might be. And the best part about Yolanda, is unlike a doctor or a nurse, she truly becomes your friend afterward.
Becky Simons: Happy Birthday to the best midwife EVER! Peace!!

More Than Birth - Midwifery, LLC: what do users think?
Sara Kloo: I loved my birth experience with Brenda!! I had a unique circumstance that left us with some unknowns during my pregnancy and birth. Brenda remained confident, caring, compassionate and supportive through it all. We decided to buy a new home and renovate it in the middle of my pregnancy.. so our home birth environment wasn’t what you’d typically imagine. Brenda was flexible, eager and well adapted in the construction chaos. She took confident and calm control to make the best of what we had to work with. I personally loved the way she explained the facts / pros and cons of each decision we had to make, and then fully trusted and respected our decisions as the parents with whatever we were deciding. My initial reason I sought out Brenda was her faith.. and that faith and trust in the Lord was very evident in everything she did with us/for us along our journey. I must note that I loved praying with her at each appointment and at our birth as well. If you’re looking for a midwife to walk with you hand in hand, honest, straightforward and knowledgeable- Brenda (More Than Birth) is the one for you!
Hannah Lockwood: We decided to have a home birth with our first pregnancy and had met with Brenda once before and decided to go with her care. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. She prayed with us over the phone and gave advice about the next steps even though we weren't clients yet. When we got pregnant again, we immediately contacted her. She has a very calm demeanor and extensive knowledge. She allowed us the choice of being informed of all of our options, pros and cons and always answered our questions.Once labor started, we called her early in the morning to which she immediately came over and checked me but I wasn't far enough along. Several hours later, she and Belinda came back and stayed for 24+ hours to be with us during labor. Her and Belinda both were so amazing and provided counter pressure, helped me move to wherever I felt comfortable and said assuring things to me the whole time.My baby wasn't coming quickly as we had thought he would but she allowed me the space to listen to my body and assured me that God made women to give birth and its a natural process.my baby came in 20 something minutes after I started pushing and we had the freedom of having time with our baby right after he was born.I had torn pretty badly and she was able to do the stitches herself and that was a huge blessing to not have to go to the hospital.Brenda is knowledgeable, kind, loving and peaceable which was everything we were looking for and more. I would recommend her to anyone!
Shelbylyn: Brenda is an amazing midwife, but as you get to know her she will become so much more. If you are looking for someone who will truly respect you and guide you through your pregnancy with love, you have found her.I found Brenda after searching for someone who would align with my family’s values and respect our decisions about birth. While I greatly appreciated our shared faith and looked forward to her prayers for my family, I can confidently say that it doesn’t matter what faith or background you come from, Brenda will respect and even more, love and support you every step of the way!She assisted in the birth of my second son three months ago and she was everything I dreamed of. I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa at my 20 week ultrasound which would have ultimately meant a mandatory c-section if it had persisted throughout my pregnancy. Brenda was the calm and assuring presence my husband and I needed to balance our fear and confusion. She assured me that even if my birth required a transfer for the safety of my baby and me that she would still be there to support me post-partum if I wanted. As the weeks went by she prepared me for every scenario and prayed diligently for God’s will in my pregnancy. I was atpeace with the outcome, and when we found out my placenta had moved at 36 weeks we all rejoiced! I truly felt her joy for us. Throughout my prenatal time with her she respected every decision of ours. She provided us with information and guidance regarding prenatal tests but not a single test was mandatory or pressured, and every step was left to my husband and I do decide. What’s more, her office has a thoughtfully designed play area for your other little ones if they tag along to your appointments. My 1 year old son always loved playing there. Then came my birth! I got to have the home birth I always dreamed of. She responded right away and came when I said it was time. She came right in to me and provided gentle quiet assistance all through my labor. My husband caught our son and she made me feel so loved and supported through my whole labor. She took care of me till my 6 weeks post-partum and I was so sad to leave her. My mom lives out of state and I can honestly say her presence filled the gap for me.I am so incredibly grateful to Brenda for her guidance and support throughout my whole pregnancy. God has truly blessed Brenda with a gift for caring for women and their babies. She also has two sweet assistants who are there to help and support you just as much as Brenda will. If you choose her as your midwife, you can rest easy knowing that this woman will love you and support you, she understands what you and your baby are capable of, and she will do everything she can to make sure she can assist you in birthing your baby the way that you want to.I would be so lucky to call her my midwife again should we have more babies.
Sarah Robinson: Brenda is amazing. Our first 3 children were hospital births (20,18, and 10 years prior) which were fine. We were shocked to find that I was pregnant at 44 and my husband at 53. Ancient and inexperienced with home birth Brenda kindly took us as clients. She was kind, gentle, and extremely knowledgeable. To realize there were options for birthing verses being told what to do was a new experience and Brenda walked us through it all. If God were to give us another baby I would definitely use Brenda again.
libby dodge: After having a poor experience at a hospital with my first birth, that ultimately lead to a c-section, I knew I wanted something totally different the second time around as I was trying for a VBAC. I didn’t want to exhaust myself advocating for myself the entire pregnancy; I wanted a provider who believed in my ability to birth my baby vaginally. A friend from my church told me about Brenda, and after having a consultation with her I knew I wanted her to be my provider. The most important aspect for me was her faith in Christ and knowing that my pregnancy would be covered in prayer. My experience with Brenda was wonderful! My prenatal care was helpful and informative. She answered my millions of questions, gave me resources, and gave me her honest opinion about things. My birth was amazing! It went so smoothly and I felt that Brenda had prepared me very well to labor at home. I used many of the tools she gave me. She came promptly when we called her and helped me work through contractions. Her assistant Belinda also came and she was so thoughtful. At one point she even went in my bathroom and found hair clips to keep my hair out of my face, which no one else ever considered.Brenda never pressured me to do anything I didn’t want or wasn’t comfortable with. I declined all cervical checks and let my body lead the way. When our baby girl was born she wasn’t breathing and Brenda and Belinda acted swiftly and smoothly and quickly had our girl breathing and back on my chest. She was concerned about how much blood I had lost so she kept a close eye on me and asked my permission about everything before taking any action. She was up front about the cost of suturing. She did an amazing job suturing my 2nd degree tear! I honestly hardly had any discomfort from it in the following weeks which really surprised me.We appreciated that she didn’t seem like someone to “save face”. If she felt it was safest for us to transfer to the hospital, she would have done so. She also told us she always tries to transfer before the situation becomes emergent which was very comforting with us having a vbac.Brenda is very professional but also relational. We had such a wonderful experience with her and we will definitely be back with our next baby!
Rebekah Marvin: Brenda is amazing!! She provides such professional, compassionate care during prenatal visits and labor. I loved that she educated me about all of my options to help me make the best personal decisions for me and my baby. During labor, which is an extremely intense experience for any mom, she was a pillar of strength. I knew she would handle anything that came up and that I didn't need to worry about anything, which made it easier to relax and focus on the work I needed to do. I would 100% recommend her to anyone planning a home birth!
Chelsea Matchett: I chose Brenda for my second home birth, my sixth child. I had been satisfied with my provider the first time, but I was wanting someone who was a little closer to home and also someone who shared my faith. I found Brenda here on Google and I am so thankful to the Lord for leading me to her. She was so reassuring and calm about a possible complication during pregnancy that could have upended our plans, always confident that the Lord would work it out and everything would work to His will. Knowing that your midwife is praying over your pregnancy is a whole level of trust that I didn't know I was missing. She prayed at the end of each appointment and my husband was so impressed that she thought to offer him the chance to pray. Speaking of husbands...she was so reassuring to mine. For personal reasons we had always chose to have my mother with me during labor while he stayed with my big kids. But she helped him to be comfortable being with me, helping me, and even catching our baby! Brenda and her assistant prayed over me while I was pushing and it was just the best experience for us so far. My kids loved helping when they came along and she was so sweet to let them. I will definitely be calling her in the future if the Lord sees fit to bless us with more children!
Kala the Nomad: Brenda is an awesome midwife! She is understanding, kind and made us feel comfortable. Brenda is big on informed consent. She listens to your wants and concerns and does her best to accommodate you. She is great at incorporating partners. She prays for you after every meeting and her faith brings a lot of positivity. We were thankful she had an awareness of systemic issues. As people of color it was comforting to have a midwife that acknowledges the intersectional factors her clients may face. We would definitely want Brenda again and I recommend her to everyone. 3 :) 💛😊 She knows what she’s doing and helped get my baby latched right away which was a blessing. She was there for us and answered our questions every step of the way. Her support, suggestions, and techniques helped me have an amazing birthing experience. She is genuine and we felt comfortable to be ourselves. It was truly a beautiful and special experience. We are glad to have gone through the journey with her. Thank you Brenda for the empowering work you do. We love you!! - KK&S
Ayn McKellar: Brenda was recommended to us by a friend when we discovered we were pregnant with our second child, and she has been one of the biggest blessings to our family. Our first child was birthed in a hospital and through a traditional OBGYN, but our experience with Brenda was much more informative, and we felt more empowered in our decisions, making this second delivery a wonderful experience.Brenda provides informed consent, providing us with research and pros/cons for each mother to choose which options are best for her. I was shocked by how much throughout prenatal care I could decline. When working with a medical doctor for our first child, the office never let us know we had a choice, they just did what was routine and barely provided us with any information. Our prenatal appointments with Brenda were roughly an hour. This time was intentional; each appointment had time for any concerns to be discussed and the baby's growth to be assessed. Brenda involved our oldest child in helping take measurements and using the doplar to hear the heartbeat, making her feel like part of the experience and increasing her excitement about the new baby. Then we closed with prayer.Brenda did an excellent job preparing myself and my husband for naturally managing pain during delivery and explaining how delivery would like go. Using a special doll, she demonstrated how she helps during delivery based on baby's position and handles the cord if wrapped around the baby's neck. While this demonstration was more for the parents to visualize what was going to happen, our oldest child learned so much too. Brenda took time to answer our child's questions in an age-appropriate way, making this whole experience a great learning opportunity for everyone. She also had excellent ways of explaining what I would be experiencing to my husband to help him understand and empathize more. He was also included in helping throughout labor, making him feel supportive and involved.Having our second child in our home was vastly different than the experience with our first. It was so much more relaxing (if you can say that about having a baby). Brenda and her assistant, Belinda, provided great care and coaching through labor and took great care of us after. Our family has been so blessed by Brenda and we will forever recommend her
Kaitlin C: I cannot recommend anyone more highly than Brenda at More Than Birth Midwifery. She was an absolute answer to prayer and our experience with her was above and beyond all expectations. She is so motherly, warm, gentle, tenderhearted, compassionate, knowledgeable and competent in her work. She put me at ease throughout the duration of my pregnancy and birth and I was confident that I was always in the best hands.Brenda assisted the birth of our first daughter. Prior to this I had a miscarriage and she was so sweet with me in talking about that…she was compassionate, understanding and let me share all of my thoughts and concerns. With that precious experience I was a little nervous with the heartbeat checks those first 12 weeks and it was obvious that she remembered about that miscarriage and was so sensitive to how I may be feeling. Her demeanor and sweet words were just what my heart needed to hear. The first time we listened I remember it was hard to find the heartbeat at first and I was so scared in that short waiting and Brenda knew just what to say and was so comforting. I appreciate all the compassion and empathy she showed regarding that sensitive topic! Our prenatal visits with Brenda were an hour each and I never once felt rushed or like my questions or concerns weren't heard. She took the time and care to explain everything and our options throughout the pregnancy…empowering us to make our own decisions that were best for our family. I love that she not only cared for me and the baby, but also made my husband feel included and a huge part of the process. That was important to me and it felt like we had involvement and respect for the whole family unit which was so special! She is incredibly servant hearted and took the time to care for our family; emotionally, spiritually and physically. Brenda is one of the most heavenly minded women I know and is full of godly wisdom. She challenged and encouraged me deeply in my faith by the way she lives her life. At my appointments she frequently had just the right words of encouragement that met me where I was at. She exudes the love and warmth of Christ. Our birth experience was is the cherry on top of all that we experienced with More Than Birth leading up to it. I had thought I was in labor at one-point and called Brenda and she drove over an hour at two in the morning to check me… I wasn’t in labor yet. She was so kind and gracious and didn’t make me feel the least bit bad about having her come out for nothing. She was so reassuring and encouraging and sweet as always. When I finally was in labor, Brenda and her assistant were ready, on-call and quick to arrive to our home. They jumped right into all of the comfort techniques we discussed and were massaging, applying counter pressure, ice cubes offering water etc. Belinda was a great assistant and frequently offered affirmation and encouragement. Brenda allowed me to try any position I desired and offered help and direction of things we could try. I had a very long pushing phase because there was a lip over my cervix that wasn’t moving and the cord was wrapped around babies neck. Brenda physically moved the lip to help things along and was very calm and direct while assisting the removal of the cord as baby was born. I felt at ease and in good care the entire time.I am beyond grateful for my experience with her and highly recommend her.
Emily Canfield: Brenda help me deliver my first baby this year. It was an overwhelming and beautiful experience. There were various minor challenges that Brenda was able to handle with exceptional patience and composure. I was continually reassured by her competence throughout my pregnancy and labor. I am so thankful to have had Brenda and her assistant Belinda there to assist me and help me through one of the most difficult things a woman can do. Their care for women and children is palpable. I began at an OBGYN, but found the care impersonal and was concerned that our intentions for the birth and the care of our baby may not be respected. Brenda was an answer to prayer and was so respectful of our choices. She also was a great source for knowledge and is always willing to answer any of our questions. I do highly recommend her to friends, family and anyone else looking for exceptional care.
Tayla S: This was my first pregnancy and I didn’t know what to expect. I knew I wanted a natural/unmedicated birth. However, every care provider I met with wasn’t very encouraging about my decision. I felt alone and didn’t know what to do.That’s when I heard about Brenda and decided to give her a call. My husband and I met with her and we knew instantly we wanted her to be our midwife.Brenda is a selfless person who truly cares about her clients. She listened to every concern I had. She treated me as a valued person and cared about what I wanted for my birth. She provided options and the knowledge behind each one. Brenda didn’t take credit for herself, but pointed everything to the glory of God and she prayed with you after every visit.Brenda and Belinda helped my daughter’s birth be exactly what I dreamed of. They made sure I was as comfortable as I could be and provided affirmations and encouragement when I needed it most.I am extremely thankful that I found Brenda and highly recommend her as a midwife.
Kyria Beals: Brenda was wonderfully calming and knowledgeable during my labor. She and her assistant Belinda encouraged me with scripture throughout contractions, reminding me of the strength of the Lord. My daughter was born safely into Brenda’s birthing pool in the comfort of my own home. After birth, Brenda cared for us in a way that answered any questions we had and helped my family rest together. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, encouraging and God-glorifying midwife.
D Moore: We selected Brenda as a midwife for our 8th child and 8th home birth (June 2021). I've delivered with four midwives at this point (mostly out-of-state). Brenda's personal experience with her own large family and Christian faith were very appealing to our family. I enjoyed getting to know her during our prenatal visits. When it came time for birth, Brenda was attentive and present. She listened to me. She has a calm/peaceful way. I felt supported, loved, and safe in her care.Coming into Brenda's care, I was already sold on the home birth model. I had already experienced 7 home births and positive experiences with my previous midwives. While I was a "seasoned" mother, I was glad that Brenda still shared her knowledge with me. I even ended up giving birth in a position she demonstrated just before the birth! She didn't just coast through the pregnancy assuming I already knew everything about birth. Brenda also helped me deal with my fears and concerns.Brenda's faith is real and she radiates the love of Christ. I have already recommended her to friends.
Erin H: I’m so thankful to have found Brenda. As a first time mom I was nervous about childbirth and finding a midwife that would be a good fit. I knew I wanted Brenda to be my midwife after our first meeting. She was not only knowledgeable and experienced but also welcoming, enthusiastic, and eager to answer my questions. Her demeanor made me feel at ease and I knew I would be in the right hands. Each prenatal visit was what I hoped for from a care provider. Appointments were an hour long so I never felt rushed. She provided me with extensive information on all aspects of pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care. I liked that she let me know my options and always reiterated that the choice was mine. I deeply appreciated her prayers at the end of our visits, and that she was a text or call away if I needed her.Delivery was everything I hoped it would be thanks to Brenda. She allowed me to do what felt natural for me while offering guidance during moments I was in need. Each of her intuitive suggestions helped me progress smoothly through labor and get closer to meeting my baby boy. I couldn’t have done it without her. She is an incredible midwife!
C&J R: From the moment I first spoke with Brenda on the phone I knew she would be the midwife for the birth of our second son, James. She listened to all my concerns from my not so great first birth with a different midwife and assured me that she would not let me have another difficult experience. She always prayed with us at appointments and you can tell she truly cares for her clients. Her assistant Belinda is a lovely young lady as well. When my blood pressure started to get a little high towards the end of my pregnancy I became stressed and anxious at the thought of having to change my birth plan. Brenda was reassuring and helped calm both my and my husband's nerves. She always let us know that we were in control and presented us with all our options and information needed to make an informed decision. During my labor and delivery she was exactly what I needed her to be and gave the perfect amount of support throughout. I felt at ease in her care and could not reccomend her more to others who are looking for a midwife.
Olivia Cerbins: I cannot say enough how much I love Brenda. I just had my first baby and I was super nervous because I’m a single mom and pregnancy was unexpected for me. I had been going to the OB but it wasn’t personal and I needed someone that would be excited with me. I began looking for midwifes and found Brenda. With COVID making hospitals crazy, I did not want to give birth there so I wanted to have a home birth. I used a birthing pool and I loved it. I had a super fast and intense labor but Brenda and her super sweet assistant Belinda helped me feel calm and encouraged me all throughout. Even though I gave birth 3 weeks early, they jumped into action getting everything set and just focused on me. I had really bad back labor during labor and both Brenda and Belinda pushed as hard as I needed them too on my lower back, which was the only thing that gave me some relief, and even just doing that for me was amazing and proved that they would do anything that made me feel the most comfortable. I would recommend Brenda to anyone I talk to because she is so personal and genuinely cares about you and the precious baby you’re bringing into the world. I also loved how she would pray for me before appointments were over and would quote scripture throughout. She really was a huge blessing for my first experience giving birth and I will definitely chose her again and again with however many babies the Lord will bless me with!
Anna Hoffmann: I just had my second child born at home with the help of Brenda and her assistant from More than Birth, and I could not be more pleased with her care.I was reflecting today how perfectly the “More than Birth” name describes her practice. Brenda treats pregnancy and birth as so much more than a medical condition. Her model of care accounts for not only the mother, but the entire family. When entering her office, one is greeted by a couch, toy box, and a toy kitchen. Family is welcome to any appointment. Brenda interacts compassionately with all people at her appointments, clearly answering questions to comfort an anxious husband, encouraging a weary mother at the end of her pregnancy, and allowing a 3 year old to put the “goop” on mama’s belly before listening for a heartbeat. And at the end of our appointment, we all pray together. It is so beautiful to have the whole family involved in a pregnancy and has certainly helped prepare my family to welcome our new baby.Brenda’s care during labor was excellent. When I asked her what I should look for before calling her (time between contractions), she just told me, “You call me whenever you think you need me.” And she was there at my home when I did. With both of my deliveries I labored for 3 nights, and she was there EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I have no idea how she does it; maybe she is an angel. Some of the care that Brenda and her assistant provided during my labors included hip compression (a huge pain reliever for me), rubbing ice cubes on my back in the labor pool, offering me water, snacks, and chap stick between contractions, praying for me, rubbing my back, A FOOT MASSAGE (for real!), and even teaching my husband to do these things to help me. She knew just what to say when I got discouraged, like “Let’s go upstairs and get some sunlight.” Or “I think we should go up and down these stairs 3 times.” Or “Your baby is ready to come out. I can see the hair. When you are ready you can push that baby right out!” Or even “Yes, I know it doesn’t seem fair, does it?” And her postpartum care is excellent as well. It begins with a lovely herbal bath right after birth. Then she comes to your home again the next day to check on you and baby and again several days later. You never need to leave the comfort of your home, and I definitely think that promotes healing.Brenda does such an excellent job, and I would highly recommend that anyone even remotely interested in home birth investigate More than Birth Midwifery. Because to Brenda, pregnancy is about so much More than Birth.
Grace Kresge: Where do I even begin. My husband and I could not be more satisfied with our 4 pregnancy, birth and postpartum experiences assisted by Brenda. She is everything I could hope for in a midwife. Right from the start she takes time with you and listens. She is very in tune to the little things surrounding pregnancy and birth which makes her able to catch red flags and assure her clients safety. Brenda is so well educated and takes time to research new things if they are unfamiliar to her. She is careful to answer your questions and often provides articles and medical research backing up her approach to care. Her professionalism is admirable and her documentation is thorough.Patient, kind, gentle, encouraging, prayerful, joy filled, confident, brave, selfless, humble, caring, Brenda is all of these. Her love and concern for her clients is deep. She truly wants what is best for you and will do everything in her power to make your desires fulfilled. However, when it’s time to intervene Brenda does not hesitate and proceeds with confidence in order to assure the safety of both mother and baby. With my firstborn I had an extremely long labor of 47 hours and very slow progression. Brenda was there almost the entire time supporting and encouraging me. When I finally stalled out at 9.5cm dilated due to babies position she was ready to help in every way she could to deliver this baby at home. She monitored both me and my daughter closely to be sure we were tolerating this long labor well. When my husband decided to make the call to transfer into the hospital due to my pain levels and exhaustion she was totally on board. She called report to the local OB floor prior to transfer and had all of my medical records available for the medical staff to view upon arrival. She stayed with us through delivery and continued with her postpartum care after we were discharged from the hospital. We could not have been more thankful for her help and we quite convinced I was saved from a c-section with her help by laboring so long at home and by her clear report to the OB team.My middle two children #2 and #3 we much less eventful labors and Brenda was there, her wonderful self, to support and encourage and help things go seamlessly from start to finish. My 4th was just born less than a month ago and This pregnancy and labor had many more hiccups than previous ones. Because of her insight and attention to detail she was able to diagnose me with polyhydramnios(extra amniotic fluid) and monitored me closely to prevent complications. My labor also was uncharacteristic and even when I thought I was having false labor she had the excellent medical judgment to investigate more and find that I was actually dilated to 9cm. Babies position was less than ideal and with her skill and training she was able to manipulate his position in order to quicken labor and ultimately allow me to deliver at home.Brenda finds so much joy in each little life she is able to assist with bringing into this world. She will always find the time to address your needs and ensure the safety of her clients. And after you’ve spent a few visits with Brenda you will find you have a dear friend, not just s midwife.I would highly recommend MORE THAN BIRTH to anyone considering a home birth.
Miranda Batchelder: Brenda has been our midwife for our last 2 births and our experience has been better than I ever imagined it could be.My first was an induction with epidural, 2nd was natural/almost born in the car after a 55 minute labor, 3rd was a set of twins with epidural as a surrogate for my sister in law, and finally my 4th and 5th have been home births with Brenda. Because of very fast/precipitous labors, my OB prefers I am induced so we don’t run the risk of delivering in the car...I do love my OB and understand his concern, but I also knew that I wanted to look into home birth, and this just solidified that thought for me. My husband was hesitant, understandably, but when we met with Brenda, both of our concerns were gone and we were so excited for this new experience. The birth of our son in December of 2019 was once again, very very fast, and I was able to have the most peaceful labor and delivery, something I really never realized was a possibility...it was truly amazing. I was able to deliver my son myself, in a position that was comfortable and came natural to me in the birth pool...no one telling me that I needed to push or I couldn’t push yet until the doctor came...it just was what my body needed to do. Unfortunately, due to a rare placenta issue, I hemorrhaged and even in this emergency situation Brenda was more than capable of both handling it and doing what needed to be done, while also knowing when we may need to transfer. While the situation wasn’t ideal, I never felt unsafe, and I was thankful to have been able to stay home due to Brenda stepping up and knowing what to do.When our son was 6 months old we found out we were pregnant and didn’t hesitate with calling Brenda to be our midwife once again. This pregnancy was just as great of an experience, probably even better as we know Brenda all the more. We once again had a super fast labor, even faster than last time, but was hard back labor from contraction 1 to birth. Brenda knew exactly how to help me get through. Her presence is calm, peaceful, comforting, and capable. I was once again able to deliver my daughter myself, right into my own arms...an absolutely amazing experience I wish everyone could have. We had absolutely no issues this time around besides some suturing. (I have had to have sutures with every single birth, its always been a hard recovery, but NOT with my home births...even Brenda’s suturing is night and day difference from the hospital! I can honestly say that it was almost as if I didn’t have any.)Brenda and her assistants are top notch. I can’t even convey in this super long review how great of an experience it has been. So many people think that a home birth is somehow some backwoods thing that has below rate care...I can honestly say it is the COMPLETE opposite. The level of care is 5 times that of a regular OB setting...I have never been MORE informed of WHAT things are being done, WHY things are or aren’t being done, WHY your body does what is does and HOW you can help yourself and your baby have the healthiest pregnancy possible. I have never been given such choices and with NO pressure whatsoever in terms of what choice we make. Aside from all of this, Brenda is such a blessing...she has been such a gift to our family is so many ways.
Emily Pantoja: What a joy it is to write a review for Brenda and the entire process from prenatal to postpartum care that she has provided for our family. We are first time parents, and from our very first visit with Brenda we knew this was going to be a special journey based on the professional and compassionate interaction. My husband's questions about home births were put at ease during our first consultation with Brenda, and now we quite frequently discuss and share with our friends and family just how in awe we are of her wisdom, patience, and expertise in her craft of midwifery. It is apparent that this is her true calling in life, and as her clients we are richly blessed with the experience of working with her. Our birth story was a bit unconventional, and Brenda and her assistant skillfully navigated what was necessary to help our daughter get into the optimal position and ultimately be born without complication or unnecessary stress. After birth, my husband was able to bond with our daughter while Brenda skillfully and compassionately addressed the suturing I needed -- at three in the morning, no less. It was so nice to be able to stay in our own home immediately after giving birth, and on top of that we were also able to have all the newborn care completed at home when Brenda returned the day after birth. We are so thankful for the care, friendship, education, and spiritual encouragement that Brenda has provided and continues to provide for us. We will dearly miss the appointments and conversations, but we hope to have her assist us in the future if we have more children, God willing. We whole-heartedly recommend More Than Birth for anyone opting to have a home birth. Thank you, Brenda and Belinda for your care.

River Birch Midwifery: what do users think?
Ariél Sherwood: We have been blown away by the level of thoughtful skill and attention to our well-being that Teresa has shown throughout the pregnancy. From the start she has provided us with excellent resources, outstanding advice, and attentive whole body care. Our respect has only grown with each visit. Her abilities and knowledge became even more evident during labor and postpartum care, when her gentle suggestions and guidance resulted in an efficient, productive laboring time and a speedy birth! She has convinced us that a homebirth with a talented midwife is the easiest, fastest, most comfortable, and most personable way to give birth, and we couldn't imagine doing it with any other midwife. Teresa has been absolutely wonderful, and we wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend her to anyone!
Chel Deschepper: It is almost impossible to describe Teresa but she is the most lovely and wonderful person I have ever met and the most caring midwife. She was reassuring and always accessible for my care as well as my newborn’s. I can not recommend someone besides her.
Annica Quakenbush: Teresa is wonderful. She has provided me with exactly the kind of prenatal care that I wanted and needed during my pregnancy. Her demeanor, kindness, skill, and experience make her a midwife I would recommend to anyone. After our home birth next month, I'll review again! Definitely meet with Teresa to get to know her if you are looking to have a home birth in the West Michigan area.

West Michigan Midwifery Jennifer Holshoe, LM, CPM: what do users think?
Rachel Holden: In such vulnerable moments, the midwife team created a safe environment, and went out of their way to make me feel supported, loved, and cared for. I’m grateful for the strong gentleness and confidence that enveloped the moments surrounding my labor and delivery.
Mia Kimmons: We were blessed to have had two beautiful children (boy July 2017 and girl January 2021) through West Michigan Midwifery. Our experience was beyond what we expected both times. The care that Jennifer, Jenn and her staff of midwives-in-training was provisioned, personal and precious. They served our entire family by including everyone in the process. We recommend their services to anyone who is looking for a homebirthing experience.
Amanda Rodenbeck: I had my third baby with this group and it was the best experience by far compared to my other births. These women know what’s up when it comes to care for women. From the moment I met them, their tone about birth, and the way they helped put me in charge of my own decisions and my own body By giving me the information I needed to make informed decisions was amazingly refreshing. In labor, they remained calm and confident and supportive. So thankful for their approach to letting babies come in their own time and believing in the body to do the job it needs to do. If I had more babies, I’d go to “The Jens” every time. Even my husband agreed (and he was not so easily convinced about having a home birth in the first place)! In addition to amazing prenatal and delivery care, their postpartum care was excellent. They UNDERSTAND that women need more than a one time 6-week check in. They saw me and baby The next day after birth and several times afterward up to the 6 week mark. So awesome. I highly recommend West mi midwifery to every low risk mom in the area. You won’t be disappointed.
Claire Shoemaker: Five stars aren't NEARLY enough to properly rate my experience with the Jens! They are actual angels on earth. This past spring they took me on as a client when I was 36 weeks pregnant in the middle of the COVID quarantine. Switching to them was the BEST decision I have ever made. Going into labor and delivery as a first time mom, I felt so confident in their expertise, and completely safe in their care. The birth of my son was the most incredible, empowering experience of my life, and I wish all women could experience this level of care during their pregnancy and birthing experiences!
Kimberly Howell: This team of women is simply the best. If you want to experience uninterrupted birth at home, call the midwife!
Kathryn Wells: This is absolutely the team you want beside you as you go through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Jen and Jenn are thorough, patient, and incredibly calm. The atmosphere they brought to our birth was so peaceful. Highly recommend!
Faith Johnson: I have had Jennifer as my midwife (and Jen as her assistant) twice. Both experiences were wonderful. They are always there to help you feel confident and empowered. My daughters are now 2 and 5 months. When my husband and I decide to have more children we will be going back to west Michigan midwifery.
Kristen VanderMeyden: I loved having Jennifer as my midwife! She listens well, is easy going, calm and compassionate. I have had birthed two babies with her as my midwife and would use her again if I were to have another.
Staci Barger: I can’t say enough about how incredible these ladies are. They are supportive, kind, loving, strong, reliable, inviting, and so in tune to your needs. I am forever grateful to them for all they have done for my family and I, and the way they cared for us throughout my pregnancy, the birth of my son, and postpartum. I trust them 100%. You will not regret having them on this journey with you. Thank you Jenn and Jennifer, (and Teresa and Brooke), for caring for me, Luka, and Scott the way you have. We love you and we miss you! ❤️
Joanne Borja Tomic: Hands down to this amazing team!! Very friendly and easy to talk to. They walk you through the whole prenatal sessions on how to prepare for the big day, they keep you calm and helps you a lot during birth and they are really good at what they do. I didn't have the easiest delivery but I can't thank this team enough for keeping me and my baby safe. Highly recommended if you're looking into doing a homebirth :)
Chelsea Matchett: I had the best experience with the Jens! They are so patient and I absolutely love that they always respected all of my choices and we're always available for any questions I had, even between appointments. They were so sweet with my other kids coming (4 of them.... appointments were a bit loud ;) ) and always let me daughter help check on the baby. When I was delivering, they were so calm and reassuring when I was feeling a bit dramatic, ha! They were wonderful about communication! And all the babies cooperated so I never had to reschedule an appointment due to them attending a birth ;) I would recommend them a hundred times over!
Heather Miller: So thankful to have this team in West Michigan! If you want to have the most caring and knowledgeable team for the best birth, look no further! Top notch midwives with the best and most rewarding birth experience! 💜
Matt Schroeder: Highly recommend Jenn and her team! Their knowledge, friendliness among other things are well worth the price. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would never look elsewhere!
Emily Croff: I have never felt so truly cared for and safe. These ladies peacefully and skillfully helped guide my baby into this world and I will definitely be working with them for every child that is to come.
karyn k: Nutshell: Look no further!! This is the team you want at your baby's birth. The natural labor and delivery of my 3rd live birth monitored by the WMM team was by far the most incredible experience of my life.I could feel my daughter move between contractions. Transition still was intense (definitely not the part of the experience I want to relive), but once I made it through that final hour, her birth was so incredible. Moments after she was born, I turned to hubs and asked "When are we going to do this again?!" Because it genuinely was a thrilling experience.I am not trying to sell home birth, but I certainly would not have the same experience in a hospital setting. Something about birthing in water is truly miraculous! And the WMM team does a spectacular job caring for you during this most vulnerable and intense journey.Thank you, again Jen, Jenn and Teresa! for giving me a positive, memorable experience. I couldn't have done it without you!!
nicole danielson: I can't say enough about Jennifer and her team! I would leave 100 stars if I could! On August 20th I had my son at home surrounded with care and love from my family and Jennifer, Jenn, and Theresa. They work together flawlessly ♡. It took me a long time to pick a midwife but once I met Jennifer I liked her instantly. She has a very calming and reassuring way about her, she is always eager to help and answer questions. I was so nervous about a homebirth but after having one with Jennifer, I'd never have it any other way! I'm so happy and blessed to have taken this journey with them by my side. ♡♡♡
bethany Edwards: Hands down the best care I've ever received from a provider! So much support, highly recommend to any one planning on having a baby!
Christina Moord: Jen was one of the wonderful midwives that supported our family through the birth of our baby boy, summer 2014. Her prenatal care and attendance throughout our labor was everything one hopes for in a caregiver: compassionate, responsive, intuitive - she truly made a difference for our family. I would highly recommend Jen as a competent midwife and skilled birth partner.
Alli Muir: Jen assisted, supported, and guided me through the birthing process as my doula for the birth of my son in 2014 and the recent birth of my daughter in January. I can't imagine not having her by my side during my labor and deliveries! She has such a calming and supportive presence... I gave birth in the hospital but wanted a natural birth and she helped to make that possible both times! I can't say enough good things about Jen!
The Flowers: Jennifer was my midwife for the birth of my daughter Lucy this last November and I could not be more pleased with the care that I received from her. She is gentle, intuitive and so skilled at what she does. I would highly recommend her if you are considering a home birth. I am so incredibly thankful for the ways in which she cared for and gave attention to my whole family as we welcomed our little one home. I will definitely be working with her again in the future for however many births are to come!
Melissa Bush: Jen was my midwife for my youngest baby last summer. She was amazing from the supportive and convenient pre-natal visits in my home to being available to answer questions at any time by phone, text, email or even facebook! She was awesome during the labor and delivery. Very encouraging and knowledgeable making me feel relaxed, empowered and safe! She was also great with my husband who appreciated her guidance. I'm thankful all she's done for our family and would trust her with a birth again should the need arise :)

MaryAnne George, CNM: what do users think?
Jaclyn Deboer: Love MaryAnne! I switched to her when I was about 31 weeks with my second, and I wish I would of found her sooner. She truly cares, and listens. Sadly she wasn't on call when I delivered, but she made sure to stop by and see me the next morning, before going into the office. I was sad after my 6 week check up, that I wouldn't see her for a whole year. She is the best!
Carrie Joy Durr: I decided to Mary Anne about halfway through my pregnancy and I couldn't have been happier. She takes time and is so personal. I had a doctor before and always felt like I was rushed. Marianne sits down and make sure that I have absolutely no question before I leave.
Yulia Park: MaryAnne was great. She listened to my preferences and was there all the time, though my delivery was very fast. She was caring and sweet.
Janice Chapin: Have been seeing MaryAnne for over 16 years and will only stop when she does. She actually cares about you and being supportive to what your issues, beliefs and morals are. She will guide you through moments and be by your side through the good and the bad.
Leah Bradley: MaryAnne has been with me through 3 pregnancies and 2 live births. She makes me feel safe and cared for. When we lost our first baby, she came to my surgery on her day off to hold my hand and cry with me. She genuinely cares for the women and babies she guides through pregnancy and birth. I also love how protective of us mommas she is. When I went to triage, the nurses wouldn't do any procedure without calling Maryanne because they don't like getting in trouble with her. ha! She is experienced, smart, and a great support person. I'm so happy I was referred to her 5 years ago. :)
