Dr. Herman C. Sullivan, MD: what do users think?
David D'Arcy: As a doctor, he’s knowledgeable and patient. But the last two appointments had me seeing a physician assistant. The last three MS flares I’ve experienced had him sending me to the Mercy Health ER, which is poorly run. The last time experienced MS-related vertigo. He sent me to his hospital and I never saw him, just the PA, and spent seven hours and two CTs before being treated with predesone. I’m sure a MS neurologist wouldn’t need to all these tests making me wait all day. Doctor is good, his nurse is good too. But, if an emergency flares up, he can’t be bothered.
Joy Russo: Dr Sullivan got me through the darkest hours. Always honest. Always helpful. He helped me get out if a wheelchair, structure my diet and live a full life.
Anons1 Sefcik: Horrible bedside manner.
Heather Bush: I switch to dr. Sullivan three months ago and he got to the bottom of what was going on. For the last 10 yrs I have been told its MS he did so much lab work that nobody has done before and found out it was not MS. But something else . every time I change doctors they say I don't know if this is ms but always give me medicine.
Lisa H: I was diagnosed with MS and saw Dr. Sullivan after a collapse and being admitted into the hospital. Dr. Sullivan was compassionate and extremely thorough. He made sure I was comfortable with all the information I was getting and he made sure I was getting all the support I needed. He sat with me and answered all of my questions. His nurses are also amazing - so friendly and helpful!
Mark Vender: I have read the other review and all I can say is I did not meet that doctor. The doctor Sullivan I met was thorough was considerate and spent over an hour with me. I understand, having MS myself that it can be frustrating but he needs to see clinical evidence. I feel it's unfair to give him a one star because he wanted to be thorough with you and see clinical evidence. If you truly have MS you should understand this. As it is a very difficult disease to diagnose.I too am new to the area and this was the first time I saw him. He did not ask for me to go through everything over. He did not ask me to get an MRI, spinal tap and all the other fun test.I highly recommend him. If you're looking for someone to just say you're disabled he's not your guy maybe. If you're looking for somebody who will spend time to evaluate you and spend time going over all your records this is your guy. If you live in the Grand Rapids area and have multiple sclerosis this is your doctor!!I was so impressed with his knowledge his spending time with me and not rushing me out. Not to mention he is going to work with my MS specialist back in Royal Oak Michigan. So the whole ego thing I think is a little overblown. I wish more doctors could be like Dr. Sullivan. He does not deserve a one star at all. Sorry but you'll find out going to other doctors that he is the only one knowledgeable in this area. Not to mention on a personal level he could not have been nicer. Thank you Dr. Sullivan and I will see you in the future. This is an honest review.
T Angela: Having just relocated from Missouri, I was referred to Mr. ( I refuse to give him the respect of being referred to as a doctor) Sullivan to take over my care from my previous neurologist in Missouri. This man is supposed to be the "gold standard" of care for neurological disorders in west Michigan. I arrived for my appointment in November 2016 and had to be taken by wheelchair because I was too weak to walk. I had lost from 125 lbs to a mere 82 pounds in less than 6 months and I have RRMS. I've never (and I am a registered respiratory therapist x 20 years) dealt with such rude, condescending, pompous attitude from a "physician". This man told my LTD company that I didn't put forth effort during his examination and felt there was no reason that I wasn't able to work. Placed this insanity in my chart for all eternity, as well. I had met this man one time. He had none of my medical records to review, and acted as if I were a waste of his time. Rolling his eyes and demanding that I was capable of doing all the physical tests he was performing. Needless to say, based on his negligence and ignorance, my LTD benefits were discontinued. Desperate to have a real doctor in my corner and actually caring for me, I contacted my neurologist in Missouri and, tho physically in no shape to travel, my best friend of 25 years drove to Michigan and took me to see my original neurologist in St. Louis, MO. I was admitted immediately to the hospital for 9 days because I had developed such vitamin and mineral deficiencies due to the unexplained rapid weight loss. Vital vitamins and minerals were too low to detect on my blood work. Because of the deficiencies I had developed (in addition to my pre-existing MS) swelling to my spinal cord causing IRREVERSIBLE neurological damage. The physicians weren't even sure they could save my life at that point because it had gone undetected due to neglect on the part of Hermann Sullivan. My LTD was appealed and re-instated after 5 months once a capable team of physicians took the time to help me. I warn ANYONE whose PCP refers them to Hermann Sullivan to immediately request ANYONE else. This man nearly cost me my life. His medical privileges should be stripped. He is an arrogant, neglectful, heartless person and should NEVER be in control of human lives.

Jared Pomeroy, MD: what do users think?
Robert Howard: I have been a patient with Dr Pomeroy for a while now and he is great! I do highly recommend him as a Migraine Neurologist. He listens and addresses my concerns appropriately. Thank you again Dr Pomeroy!!
Sandee Grasman: Waited months to get into Dr. Pomeroy. I told him my last neurologist would take 4-5 days to get back with me which was not acceptable. I have a major medical concern and need care. I was assured by both him and his nurse that they would get back within 24 to 48 hours. The best way was to use my chart. I sent messages via my chart I also need to phone calls and a week later I’m still waiting for a response after my very first visit. When I called on the phone all they say is they will send a message back again. This time I told them not to bother, that if this was indicative of how they deal with their patients I would simply leave a review and look elsewhere. I was told OK I understand thank you goodbye, I guess it’s easy come easy go with this office. Very very disappointed.
Kindra Glover: Great Dr! Kind, patient & caring
Marilyn Sattler: This office is wonderful to work with! They are busy, but they ALWAYS return calls promptly, and have "gone to bat" for me numerous times. . . with insurance companies etc. They are quick to answer questions on "My Health" as well. I highly recommend them! Always friendly and I feel like they know me. I'm not just a "number" there. Oh, and they have helped me find meds. to help with my migraines too! Yipee!

Trinity Health Neurosciences - Grand Rapids Campus: what do users think?
Lainy Todd: All of the staff from check in to nursing were extremely nice. Dr. Taylor was in the room with me for over a half an hour. I have never had a neurologist invest this much time in an appointment. She was straight forward asking questions and completing exam. She also answered a follow up question quickly and addressed my concerns.
Allan Steele: Dr. Trevor Wu was extremely dismissive of my symptoms, which he was not able to explain in any way. He wrote false statements on my discharge notes. I've never felt so disrespected by a doctor. He claimed he was unable to diagnose me as an adult, yet was willing to take the referral and my money.
Jahan Spearman: So I came to this facility with severe back pain My mobility was very limited So thinking that you're gonna help me The doctor went on to explain that I may have a bulging disk or herniated disk Her advice was 4 to 5 weeks of physical therapy. So now at the lengthy period of physical therapy I'm still in pain , No mentions of injection steroid injections For pain. Thanks for nothing still lying in severe pain..Wow..
Kyla Joy: I am always impressed and grateful for the care I receive here. Each of the professionals treats me with dignity and respect, but is also personable!
Ann Marie Michael: It is absolutely necessary that you check behind your doctors, my husband has a TBI and Post Concussion Syndrome, the doctors charted incorrectly, I will say that after my husband called and screamed at the doctor about simple mistakes about not listening.Dr. Nyenhuis was his doctor !!!Why don't people slow down and pay attention to the patient, simple listening skills are important to fixing problems.I am a Registered Nurse, my name is Ann Marie Hodges RN
Diane: True saviours
searchin 4 sun: dr melanie taylor was professional and compassionate. she listened to my description of the reasons for my visit and despite the fact that i was feeling awful and felt i didn’t describe my problems well, she asked appropriate questions that helped me explain the issues that i had been having. my treatment plan was explained, i felt she listenedto me, i did not feel rushed or judged. i am so thankful i was referred to the hauenstein neurology clinic. like many others i came to this office at a low point in my health and left feeling hopeful that i would improve with medical intervention. thank you!
Shirley Jenks: I have been so impressed, please and grateful for the treatment I received at Mercy Health Hauenstein Neurosciences! I wasn't happy to be there, but the staff made a bad situation the best it could be. Excellent doctors, empathetic nurses, even the housekeeping staff was compassionate and kind. This is how healthCARE should be! Thank you
Crystal: Friendly
Beau Oldfield: Dr Nicholson and his staff are top notch! I had not experienced to care compassion this office provides. The nursing staff actually listen to what you have to say and truly care about your well-being. If only the rest of the healthcare system operated on this level of professionalism!!
kristin carigon: PLEASE GO SOMEWHERES ELSE theres a reason they have a BAD rating
American 4 America: Office & docs normally do well. However, last visit was cancelled and I was not notified until I showed up at the office for the appointment. Nothing in MyChart, telephone or e-mail advised of the cancellation. No excuse for a medical organization to function this way. We'll see how things go moving forward.
Meghan H: Apparently all of their patients are unresponsive to pain prevention treatments and aren't controlled. My last visit my concerns were ignored which was really bad since I actually have abnormal MRI which would have been caught had my symptoms not been blown off. And even though NOTHING has changed I still have to wait MONTHS for a new patient appointment. This office will NOT fill out ANY paperwork for you so I'd go elsewhere if you suspect it will be needed at a later date FYI. If I'm going to wait months for a new patient appointment I will be taking myself elsewhere to an office that actually deserves my business.
Nicholas Kreuzer (Ryzure): If you suffer from any debilitating neurological pain, don't worry! They'll make a note of it and file it away in the garbage bin.Edit: Edit: Not a fan.
Shawn Sandee: Nurse and staff are excellent, the doctors? If you’re proactive about getting healthy and happy again. You should try somewhere else first.
Karen Schuiteman: Nurses Claire, Julie, and Katy, and others provided exceptional care for our loved one. Best care our family's ever seen was from these nurses at Houenstein center. Thank you.
casey dekam: I would never recommend or return. When an MRI revealed a cerebral aneurysm, I was referred here. Upon my first appointment, the Doctor terrified me with all the death and disabling statistics that come with a rupture. He pushed for treatment, and I agreed. He attempted to coil the anuersym, but failed. After the procedure, he came into my room and said I "could live with it" and I never heard from the office again. I was left confused, horrified, and with many questions.
Matt Lilley: After waiting months to get an appointment,. they literally said " We're not sure why you are here" then took my BP and wondered why it was so high. Overheard complaining and whining about why a patient was in the office just to find out it was probably me. Worst experience ever.
βπιαη ω: spine diag, quite lacking although the rudimentary med science procedures have limited ability.eval a dynamic pathology with a static methodology, no surprise medical error is 3rd leading cause of death in the usa. roll the dice..
dan rosie: I simply cannot put in words how disappointing my experience with this office was. I was referred to Paige Barber for a 2nd opinion on a neck issue I have been fighting for almost two years now. On the day of my appointment I leave work early to fight the construction traffic for a 30 minute drive to this office. I arrive and the one good thing is there was plenty of parking close to the building. I walk in to a line at the elevator so I walk the 3 floors up to the office where I wait my turn at the front desk. When it is my turn the receptionist asks if I brought my paperwork, I respond that I did not receive any paper work. She walks off to talk to the doctor and comes back and says that we need to reschedule. Turns out according to the receptionist the amount of time between when I scheduled and my appointment was not long enough to get the paperwork to me. So I reschedule my appointment and the best they can do is 40+ days out. Right when you think it can't get worse when I arrived back at work I called to cancel my appointment because I am not feeling confident about this office, I navigate the menus and after a short wait a woman greets me with a hello and the office name I wait a short moment to make sure that she is done talking and right as I am telling her my name the phone hangs up! She actually hung up the phone as I was talking. I would definitely never recommend this office nor will I be back at any time. I am just hoping I can actually reach someone and cancel the appointment I have.
Brian Hauenstein: I arrived with L4 & L5 compression issues and Dr. Luders was able to diagnose and rectify my issues, making it comfortable to engage in recreational activities once again. Many thanks for the support!
