Eric Prescott: On the recommendation of my agent, I hired Hammer Home Inspections for 3 inspections in the Muskegon area, as well as 3 subsequent inspections for other properties, and then 3 re-inspections. That gets pricey (nearly $3000, all-in), but the first 3 inspections were partly responsible for keeping me out of deals I am certain I would have regretted, and the second 3 (along with the re-inspections) paid for the cost of all 9 of the inspections when the seller was compelled to make repairs and offer additional funds at closing for remaining repairs. And this is only one aspect the reports' value.The reports are valuable in themselves to anyone concerned with understanding the condition of a property, especially if, like me, you are out of state. They are succinct, clear, detailed without overwhelming the reader with data, and give one the sense of having been there, taking note of all the key things you'd want to address later so you can bring the house up to a certain standard. And Glenn was very responsive via email and phone. After my first experience with him on the initial properties I passed on, I felt totally confident hiring him again for a second set of properties, as well as paying him to go back and re-inspect after repairs were made. In fact, I'd consider myself very fortunate if I could have a Glenn in every market in which I'm investing.Not long after my second set of inspections from Glenn, I needed an inspection in another market, which I let my agent there arrange. I was incredibly underwhelmed. This may be a weak analogy, but it was sort of like the difference between a movie review by a top professional critic for a major newspaper or magazine and a movie review written by an average Joe using a checklist like the guys use at Jiffy Lube. I had very little insight into the property, fewer photos, no real sense of anything beyond whether something was "satisfactory." Sure, the inspection was $50 less than Hammer Home Inspections' ($55 less, if you include the surcharge for paying with a credit card), but the value in this report was drastically less as well. I ended up having to call the inspector in that case and interview him for 20 minutes to try to get the answers I needed to some very basic questions about why he was unable to test certain equipment, for example. I never had a sense of having been there and gathered the information I would have found most useful, like I did with Glenn.I've read additional reports on properties under contract in other markets since then that used the same Palm Tech software that Hammer Home Inspections uses, and the reports are helpful, no doubt, but as powerful as that software is, much still falls to the inspector's judgment for what to include, which pictures to take and how to take them (and annotate them), what to write and how much detail, and so on. So, though I felt like I got a lot of useful information that I can act on with these later reports, the net effect was actually kind of overwhelming. You can partly blame that on the condition of the property, but it's easy to imagine Glenn having gone through the same property and generating the same level of detail without feeling overwhelmed by all the data and recommendations. Glenn's reports always seemed thorough, yet easy and quick to read. As a busy investor looking at multiple properties, I found that combination very helpful. I also found the online invoicing and payment system he used to be much easier than any of the other inspectors I've worked with, and well worth the $5 added fee.It probably does not need to be stated after the foregoing, but in conclusion I want to unequivocally state that I'd strongly recommend Hammer Home Inspections to anyone in the coverage area needing a home inspection, whether you are investing or buying a new home.

chris marzec: I had an ant problem that started last spring and crickets in the basement always in the Spring. Thanks to Corby at Schultz I haven't seen any ants for over a month. I had them spray the exterior of my condo and also spray the basement for crickets. Usually I don't see crickets till around the end of May and into June. We'll see what happens when that time comes. The only insects that I've seen in my basement so far are dead ones! Thank you Schultz Pest Control!PS...Just wanted to mention that they came within a few days and the spray was odorless!
