Once we had decided on which we wanted, he kept us updated on the delivery of our Atlas. After it arrived, the whole team at Betten Volkswagen was great explaining the options for warranties (Dominic), transferring titles (Rita), and sitting in the car with us to explain all the features (Will). Will also ordered us a guard for our bumper to protect it and it only took a week. Dave was there to help me when I went in to have the bumper guard put on. Very grateful for all of their help, and absolutely LOVE our new Atlas!

Better on the other hand went out of their way to help me even though I told them I am just starting to look for a new vehicle they took their time showing me all of the features and options without being pushy or rushing me. Frank Price: Would not take one penny off of the price of the car, including a 230 dollar document fee. When I asked if anything could be done, the salesman named Will Swets not only said no, but acted offended that I had the audacity to even ask. His extremely condescending response was “you’re lucky we are only charging sticker price”. I would have absolutely walked, but this is my wife’s car, and she made it clear we are buying it no matter what.To me it’s bad business, they are winning the battle but losing the war. They get the 230 dollar document fee, but we will never go back there for service or any other reason.Update: I just called to cancel some floor mats my wife had purchased bc we obviously aren’t getting them from this place. Lo Hailey: Went in to look at a few new cars, test drive and potentially buy. Looked around outside for 15 minutes and no one came out. When going inside, we had to make contact with the only salesman inside. He not once told us his name, and never shook our hands. He instantly went to “I need your information” not even knowing who was buying. We let him know we would like to talk first about what they had and were told no, he needed information first. After that we got attitude for the rest of our interaction. Nothing good happened after and we decided to cancel our test drive and leave. After personally selling cars for 15 years, and knowing how the business works, this wasn’t a good interaction.
Brian Swain: Had my wife go here for an oil change. Tire rotation is not included in the oil change like most dealers. Not a big deal... Asked for a tire rotation ready and able to pay extra. They refused to rotate tires because they said they didn't need them. They have no idea last time the tires were rotated. I have to rotate them to keep the warranty on my tires. Now I have to go somewhere else to get my tires rotated. Will not be going back since they cannot provide the services that customers request. The VW dealer my auto in Muskegon is much better.

Mike Rose: Took my VW Passat TDI for service for a coolant leak and they told me that they did a pressure test and that I was losing coolant due to "evaporation". Continued to lose coolant during cooler weather so I took it to a different VW dealership and they said that it was leaking from the water pump and it should have been picked up when Betten did their pressure test. Not happy about the lack of thoroughness when they tried to diagnose the issue. I have a long commute to and from work so a reliable car is a necessity so the second dealership will now get all of my business when I need service.

I'd rather drive a further distance to be serviced at a VW dealership than waste my time and be unnecessarily disrespected by the men at this location.

While I considered to purchase a used 2018 VW Tiguan from Betten Imports I was in contact with Simon Miller, who works in pre-owned. He answered all of my questions quickly and in detail. After doing a bit more research I decided to lease a new 2020 Tiguan. Simon was still extremely helpful and once I arrived for my appointment he introduced me to Jared Gipe. Jared went through the car in detail and made sure to ask if we had any questions multiple times. Jared was very polite, professional and personable my entire experience from test drive to purchase. Gerald Steinkraus: I ordered a part for an R59 roadster, but they send parts for an R60 countryman. They did this twice. Then they charged me a 25% restocking fee, when they sent the wrong part TWICE!!!!! Then they were rude to me about it. We buy, service, and sell 60-100 mini coopers a year. We treat our customers with respect, no matter the situation. We just took our business to another Mini dealer, who by far, is so nice and very helpful with us. We expect to spend $20 to $35,000 with them this year. It's sad to see that an inexperienced employee can cost Sharpe money. Disappointing, to say the least.....

They said they would not replace they were fine and awd cars don't have to match front and rear.Brought my car in for repairs at the same time was quoted way more than I wanted to put into it. Had it fixed elsewhere for 1/7 the quoted price.Use caution when using this dealership. Not what they used to be.

I loved how Bob saw an actually human being when speaking to me, and not a way to make money. For example, Bob took the time to really get to know my mom and I, and even giving some special info about himself. Like the fact that he was in a Mountain Dew commercial in the 80's which I found pretty darn cool. When I put money down, the title for my car was not in yet. However, during this waiting process, Bob contacted my mom and I regularly giving us updates and funny jokes. I highly recommended purchasing your next car here.

One came from another dealership and was one of the worst experiences of my life so going into this dealership I was guarded and skeptical. It turned out to be an extremely easy process and the best experience I've ever had buying a car. Joel was fantastic from start to finish. The car was purchased on a Friday and I chose an interior protection package that needed to be applied and it was ready the next morning. I had also chosen another package that required and install. The car was dropped off first thing in the morning, my girlfriend was brought to work, and Joel dropped the car back off to her at her work. Fantastic customer service and everything was seamless from start to finish. If you're in the market for a new to you car, definitely go see Joel and let he and the team take care of you.

Jay McGee: So in November of 2021 I started looking for a car to purchase and I had a few on my list. One of which was a 2016 Chevy Malibu. I contacted Berger in regards to a car that they had in stock via email, and received a reply very quickly saying that they had two in stock and one that was being shipped to the dealership very soon. Each of the cars were supposed to be a midnight blue color, and I was excited. I tried to set up a time to do a test drive and was paired with a rep named Martin Rudolph. Martin told me that the other two Malibu's weren't ready despite the previous rep telling me they were and that I could test drive them. And he repeatedly came up with excuses. Now my full first name is of a particular background from Africa, and at a certain point I had to ask myself if it was due to that despite the Martin guy never having meet me. The only other possible issue it could have been was the fact that I was pre-approved for a loan through a company he didn't want to use. In either case the experience was horrible, a repeated waste of my time as I tried to work this out with the guy for weeks. And to this day it still leaves me sour.In the end I went to Harvey Automotive and found the car that I wanted. The dealers at Harvey were very happy to work with me. I got a Hyundai Sonata for the same price with under half the mileage that was on the Malibu. Great team over there and Joel Ezinga was awesome to work with. They made everything so easy. I got my vehicle with in a day or two of contacting them. It was a light and day difference and probably one of the best car buying experiences that I have had.

I got a call an hour later, approved at a great rate and they found 5 different trucks for me to look at. I picked one, they weren’t happy with the tires as it was a 2016 but still low miles so they called and explained the situation. I was waiting for them to tell me I needed to buy new tires, instead they told me they ordered a new set at no extra charge. It went through a complete inspection, they detailed it and I am extremely happy with my new truck. I call it Babe the Blue Ox ala Paul Bunyan. It’s big, bad and a rockin’ blue! A great experience start to finish from Harvey Automotive!

R&T None: For two days I have been trying to reach someone in Mercedes service and no one answers and no one calls back. Operator keeps saying they are busy. Guess what? I am busy too! Horrible service! I will drive to Lansing before I let them touch my cars again.

So they told me to come back when it’s warm outside and they will check it again. With all this said they tried to charge me the diagnostic fee.. this was the last time I take my car to this dealership they are horrible. To add this car was in once before for the A/C issue and they fixed it worked fine for 3-4 months and stopped again.

chris sheldon: It saddens me to report that my experience with Betten started out great in 2018, so much so that I bought a second vehicle from them in 2020, but it’s been downhill from there.Most recently, my four and a half year old XC90, that I meticulously maintain and serviced with Betten, left me broke down on the side of the road. So, things happen mechanically, no harm there.May be failed turbo or head gasket, but I assume because Betten service can’t tell me, and they aren’t sure they can even look at it for 30 days.I called Betten Volvo service from the side of the road, and the disappointments started there. I received immediate explanations on why Betten may not be able to look at my warrantied vehicle for a month, that they had no solutions for loaner or alternative transport. They gave me a number to global Volvo so I could arrange a tow. I was also told at this time the vehicle was not under warranty, when I had a copy of the warranty Betten sold me with the vehicle brand new.I went to Volvo the next morning to find my vehicle had been left unlocked in the parking lot all night. The service rep was very kind, but had no idea when they could help me.I called daily for a week, and was never given a glimpse of a solution, even after escalating and meeting face to face with the director of service, Eric. Eric also let me know there was no one at Betten who could help me, and he had dozens of customers in the same boat, and I wasn’t special.I have a handful of other poor experiences related to service since 2020 that I have overlooked but things are stacking up!The people working there seem kind enough, but ill equipped to provide the service that drew me in a few years back. Jason in particular has always been helpful, but Eric successfully made me feel like I am not wanted as a customer.I actually had to tow my vehicle from Betten, to another garage, in order to ensure I get my vehicle looked at within 30 days of breakdown since Betten is not be able to look at it. This vehicle is under 100% warranty that was sold to me by Betten.I can’t even begin to express the disappointment regarding how Betten handled my warranty kindly, so I won’t try.Don’t know whether to laugh….or cry, but I do know that Betten and I seem to be in agreement that if I need my car back this month, it need to go somewhere else, even though no one knows what’s wrong with it

Lynne H.: I did oil change in this center for my 2018 Audi A6 and the technician who served me might think I knew little about cars as a woman with an accent and gave me a list of ten items to replace and fix at a total charge of over $6000 which I only paid $458+$136=$594 later in other Auto shops. Below are details:For the front break job, for the same parts, Christian Brother gave me a quote of $829 based on the scanned copy of the Audi service quotes and Tuffy Cascade actually charged $458 to do the brake job while Audi asked for$2393.98. Also after Tuffy Cascade checked my car, the two other replacements I asked them to do according to Audi were told totally not necessary by Tuffy.I brought my car to Belle Tire as they were brought new there three months ago. I required tire balance and rotation there which were listed as immediate attention by Audi (Belle Tire quotes $140 vs Audi quotes $420), however, the Belle Tire technician checked and said my car didn't need an alignment job at all. I requested Coolant Flush there at $136 while the quote from Audi was $469.53.I brought my car to Veenstra's to check Motor Mount as Audi said" Motor Mounts are cracked leaking fluid, heavy vibrations in the vehicle due to the conditions of the mounts" and quoted me $1400 first and then increased it to more than $2200 when I only requested this service and turned down all others in Audi. Veenstra technician did a careful check and test, no crack, no leaking, and no issue at all.If only one Auto Repair shop said that these services were not necessary, Audi can defend that it is because of different criteria, however, Tuffy, Belle, Veenstra, and Christian Brother all found Audi suggested different unnecessary services and fake issues, it is a big issue for Audi Grand Rapids credit.I will suggest other customers use ChatGPT and google to find out the price for these services. Audi Grand Rapids charged higher prices for many of these services from ChatGPT.

First I had called over to the Audi service department and asked about a recall that was open, now I had a free day to burn so I had asked if any walk-ins were available and Justin was so kind to squeeze me in for the recall. During my service visit they preformed a full detail on my vehicle completely on the house. The technician working on the vehicle was also nice enough to look into a couple concerns I had with the vehicle, all in all a great visit to the dealership was in and out in 2 hours. After a few days the dealership calls my daughter to tell her she needed to pay $510 to have them hook the car up to the computer. My daughter is a full time student and works full time as well to pay for college. $510 is ridiculous to simply hook a car to a computer.I had her car towed to a local shop that hooked her car up to the computer for FREE, diagnosed the problem and fixed it for less than what these people at BMW were going to charge to just hook it up to their computer.I Would never recommend bringing your car to this place.

Paul Schmuck: I have been a customer of Sharpe for 25 years. Going through a number of models, BMW has been a favorite choice as a daily driver. Purchasing a 540xi in March 2022 reinforced the kindred spirit. Last week I had a scheduled oil change performed. Half mile down the road, “low oil pressure sensor” illuminated. Shut down the engine immediately. I turned the car around and headed back to Sharpe. Jason Bigelow (long time employee) took the car and had it inspected. A gasket ring on the oil filter pinched against the seating. Creating a gap to leak. It was rectified and I went on my way. Four days later the car sitting in the driveway. A short journey and I returned to oil in the drive way. The car had been leaking residual oil. Fast forward. I notify Sharpe and they send out Braden (technician in charge of fast service) to my house. He took the car back to Sharpe, removed the cover plate, pressure washed the under carriage and repeated the oil change. Everyone makes errors…it is how you correct them that creates an impression. Thank you Braeden and Jason. Your effort and energy is appreciated
