H Williams: This was my first experience dinning at The Chop House. The atmosphere was nice and the dinning area was clean. My party was seated in the basement. I was not aware that there was basement seating, which was fine. However, the hostess didn't inquire if anyone needed to access an elevator (if there was one available).The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable when it came to menu questions and recommendations. My water glass was always full and the plates were cleared immediately (table crumbs too).I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye. It was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Au Gratin potatoes were delicious. The sauce on the 3 cheese macaroni and cheese was watery, but it could be just preference as I like a thicker cheese sauce.I would definitely return for another dinning experience.

Demetrius Collette: My food was delicious. I had the aged NY strip, Brussel sprouts, the lobster tail bites and the calamari. The calamari had to much sauce on it but was still good. I also had a cheesecake to go.
Tank: Eating at this place is an event. They employ the best servers who treat you like you are special. The chefs are experts in ensuring the temperature of your steak is spot on. In the 6 times I’ve eaten here, the temperature has only been off once and they redid the order to make it right and gave me a free dessert also! They truly are the premier eatery in Grand Rapids. They aren’t cheap, but they are worth it!

We cannot wait to come back here and celebrate more special occasions.

Everyone enjoyed their food, the waitress was very tentative and made sure we had everything we needed. Appetizers came extremely fast and tasted really good. James Taylor: we ordered a ribeye and a fillet/lobster for dinner. Noelle was our server and was kind, super attentive, and helpful. The food was prepared properly and served hot and ready. We even has a visit from the manager Amira Andraous to double check the food and Noelle's efforts which were heartily endorsed. Visit them frequently because the amount of food was worth the money and Noelle is the frosting on the cake (we actually took our cake home!)

Gambler's Old Fashioned is an amazing compliment to your Filet. Sides are served family style and are amazing. Desserts are perfect. Take a date, expect to spend around $250-300 and enjoy your life.

Even though I've heard some of the same complaints from other people and read same complaints in reviews at other locations that we ourselves experienced. Well my family and I ate here in Grand Rapids. The main issues were the temperature of the food, steaks cooked wrong, and overall quality of the food. Especially both 149.00 tomahawk steaks being way under cooked. I was extremely excited to finally try a tomahawk steak given not many places have them. First of all I ordered mine medium rare. It was extremely rare. I still ate mine since I used to order steak rare. I just figured a restaurant like this wouldn't screw up how a steak is cooked. Well my other family member who ordered the same, his was extremely rare too and he actually sent his back. I really was expecting better flavor and quality given it was a 149 dollar steak but it was no different from a 60 dollar steak. Very disappointing. My ahi tuna appetizer was good. We all sampled each others food and for the most part disappointed in a lot of it. Some of it was cold and not warm like it should have been. The food presentation was nice. But the food quality and taste certainly was not even close to being worth what they charge. Our waitress was kind and efficient. Our bill was a little over 1,700 including gratuity. I would have expected food to be top notch for the price of everything but it certainly wasn't unfortunately. All I can say is that the service very good. My appetizer was great. But we didn't go there to pay that much for only good service. We went there expecting good food too.

Service was good but the food not so much. My wife's Sea Bass was fishy (I tried it too). Brussels Sprouts were good, not great. Same with the creamed spinach. My steak was very good, not awesome. Two glasses of wine ($20 per glass), good not great. Bill came and it was $223 plus tip for two of us. For that price the food should be incredible and the overall experience awesome. It was not. Won't be back. (All through dinner I kept looking at the Chop House right across the street).

This was the first time my 12 year old has ever been able to eat a meal prepared in a restaurant. The weight of this should not be understated.That all said, service was excellent. Janika, our server, also showed sincere care and was just awesome in general. Food was delicious. We shared a porterhouse, fries, and sweet potato casserole. Eric Ball: As I travel around Michigan and Indiana, I am always looking for a good place to eat lunch. Brann's has several locations throughout Michigan, and it is usually a pretty good place to grab lunch. Had the prime rib dip and Cajun fries, and both were good. Service was a little slow, but they were pretty busy. Overall, it's not a bad place to grab lunch if you are in the area!

Fatima Rose: During a quick weekend gateway to downtown Grand Rapids, my fiancé suggested Brann's Steakhouse. The atmosphere was great,cozy, yet family-friendly upon entering . A memorial wall honoring fallen law enforcement of Grand Rapids was an extra bonus. The beer was super cold ,fresh, and delicious. Paired with hot fresh dinner rolls and cinnamon. Unfortunately, the wings were not cooked to my liking. I requested extra crisp wings but received uncooked wings in the middle.

Daniel Adams: It was good food, nothing wrong, it was just overpriced for what you get. I did make a reservation only to show up and have them not have a table for me. I left and to their credit the manager called me and asked me to return as they "found me a table". So I did go back and give them a chance. The scallops were a bit salty for my taste but that could just be me. And the steak was a bit over what I asked and a bit cool, though they served it on a hot plate which did warm it back up. The waitress was really good but I took a service star away because of the reservation issue. All in an not bad, just not for me I think. I would not return for the prices they charge.

Cody Colvin: I want to like Bowdies. I really do. A year ago, we ate here and had the best filets we’d ever had. I’ve eaten here about 8 times since then (about once a month).One other time, the filet was great. Three times, something has been missing - steak was undercooked or unseasoned (one time, it came out without salt or pepper).The other four times we ate here were unremarkable and inconsistent. Filets had little flavor and tasted slightly different every time. Always left us regretting our dinner choice and wondering whether we should've orderd something else.We kept giving this place a shot but have given up. Service and waitstaff are generally great, but the food has inconsistent and consistently bland. My guess is that kitchen turnover is to blame. I will say, twice I've had EXCELLENT steaks here. But the other times over the last year left something to be desired, and that's a hard pill to swallow when you're paying $250 for a dinner.

Cindy Patin: At supper here on May 7, 2023, as part of a crowd of 16 people. They were able to accommodate our group, with a brief wait to arrange tables. The food was excellent! Large portions, beautifully prepared. They brought out eight orders at a time, all hot and ready to eat, with the other eight orders following close behind, hot and ready to eat. Our waitress was wonderful, as well! (Sierra)! I also appreciated the professionalism of the staff, including how they were dressed! We will return!

Tammy Babcock: Service was excellent. We liked the atmosphere. They give you very very generous portions. We will be back. One complaint that we did not address that evening and should have. One of us got the surf-n-turf. The steak was supposed to be medium. It was well done - no pink at all. Should have sent back because of the price. We will go back but will make sure we remind them what a medium steak is. Everything else was EXCELLENT.

Derrick Doyle: The food was very sub-par for the relatively high prices. My New York strip was okay. My nephew's sirloin was just good. The salads were literally yellow lettuce--nothing green on the plate. But most irritating was our server. I forgot her name, but she was a blonde-haired senior lady who made us all feel like we were a burden to her somehow from the very beginning. She was impatient with taking our orders, and slow to check back in with us for refills, etc. She did soften a little bit towards the end, you know, about when it was tip time. There's a steak place nearby called Blue Water that is MUCH better, and less expensive.

Jennifer Elenbaas: Came here for a birthday dinner as a guest. They are short staffed but the people working there still had a sense of humor and made the evening fun. The wait for food is a bit a long, but I assume that is due to the short staffing. When the food comes it is delicious and the drink menu is also fun. The birthday person gets a volcano with a sparkler in it and it is enough ice cream and brownie to share with the table. They do not sing when they bring it out Incase that scares some people off. Over all a great experience.

Rodella Fizer: I visited this location 2 years ago and the service was so horrible I vowed to not come back. However, I came back today for a friend’s birthday and OMG Jake was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! He is an asset to that location and company! He got everything right and made sure we were great the whole time! He cracked jokes and he fit right in with our group. David Moore: Many will like the novelty of eating/cooking on hot stones. The food was just ok..and with the price tag of $40-$50 per person I was expecting better. I had the Onion soup..and it tasted more like beef soup with onions. The salad I ordered had sugar coated nuts..that were way too hard. I went for the 10oz filet medallions, and was not impressed or satisfied. I think the sirloin was $15 cheaper and tasted about the same. Server was great..as was the volcano desert.

Personable, not intrusive, attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, dish prep and ingredients, and fun. The atmosphere is quiet, subtle, no distractions. One glass wine, two mixed drinks, two entrées with sides, salad and mushroom soup as apps. Bone in ribeye, perfect. Salmon on rice, perfect. I'm rice-neutral, this was among the best I've ever had and could be eaten for breakfast every morning. Huge flavor. Asparagus was firm at the tip and no stranding down the stalk, and huge. All the portions were large enough for take home. We ate about half of everything. It's a lot of food. 2hrs of perfect coursing.All that for $240 with tip. Worth every penny.

We were here once before and enjoyed the service and food so much that we wanted to share the experience with our good friends.Our server must have been having a horrible night. We arrived at 6pm and were the only table in the restaurant. So it wasn’t like he was busy. He did not smile. He didn’t introduce himself and he just seemed like he didn’t want to be there. He didn’t tell us about the specials and or go over the menu. His attitude was so bad that we were embarrassed that we brought our friends to the restaurant. When I asked if there were any specials he said no and walked away. After getting drinks for the kids he walked by and said “just so you know I don’t do refills unless you ask.” That was it and he walked off..We were left sitting there for twenty minutes before anyone came back to see if we were ready to order.His attitude was so bad that we asked to have another server.I was so surprised by the poor service as well as were our friends.The food was excellent but the service was awful!! When you spend over $600 for dinner you expect better service!!Not writing this restaurant off but I will request a different server next time.
Greg Gates: Absolutely incredible restaurant - my wife and I's favorite in the Grand Rapids area. Certainly pricey, but absolutely worth it. Steak has always been cooked perfectly to order and the beef tartare is immaculate. My pro tip: order the truffle fries appetizer with your steak entrees instead of the mashed potatoes. You won't be sorry :)

Olivia Baker: We arrived around 3:45 pm on a Saturday, so it wasn’t too busy. The restaurant is clean and the salmon that I ordered was caramelized outside and juicy. But.. we were met with a very very loud host .the appetizers were decent but when it came to our main meal,the ribs I was flabbergasted to find not one but 3 small curly hairs in my food. I was absolutely disgusted. When I approached this problem with my server I was meet with a lack of sympathy and sarcasm. Carolyn Wells: Literally the first Friday night table and it took over an hour for our food. Waitress kept saying food was coming and sorry she was only allowed to put in 4 orders at a time, meanwhile tables filled up and were eating before us.
