Carl Snapp: Drive all the way from Kalamazoo to have this sushi. Always delicious! We order an absurd amount of sushi rolls and they crank them out with quality. Alfons Müller: Ginza: A Delightful Sushi Experience with Exceptional Service!Recently, we had the pleasure of dining at Ginza, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Although the restaurant's furnishings are functional, what truly set our evening apart was the amazing service provided by River. Their attentiveness and genuine care elevated our dining experience to new heights. We started with appetizers, and the Boom Boom Shrimps were delightful. However, it was the Shumai that truly surprised and delighted our taste buds. These Japanese steamed dumplings were delicately seasoned and packed with amazing flavors—a true culinary treat. For our main course, we ordered three rolls, each beautifully arranged and incredibly appetizing. However, the Naruto Roll took the spotlight. With a refreshing cucumber wrap, a medley of different fish, and the absence of rice, it offered a unique and innovative interpretation of sushi that surpassed our expectations. It was a new and exciting experience, expanding our perception of what sushi can be.The overall experience at Ginza was nothing short of awesome. From the exceptional service to the delectable dishes, we were thoroughly impressed. It's safe to say that we will be returning to Ginza as soon as we crave good sushi in Grand Rapids again.#GinzaSushi #ExceptionalService #CulinaryDelight

ATO SUSHI Korean & Japanese Cuisine: what do users think?
Ash Maul: I've eaten here several times and never had an issue because I haven't ordered the tuna. I just ordered their Chirashi and it was the weakest serving of fish I've ever seen in a chirashi bowl, but my problem was really with the tuna. The tuna was filled with red food coloring, and I thought the color was a little vibrant but didn't think anything of it until I lifted it off the rice and saw the huge red stain it left below it. The sushi cuts are half what most restaraunts give and the price is the same as others charge, and beyond that they're now serving questionable dyed tuna.

Emily Gudzinski: My favorite sushi place in GR - I always get their bento dinners, but have tried their noodle bowls, spring rolls, and sushi as well. Everything is always great, made fresh, and super delicious. If you're looking for a good sushi joint in the city, definitely give this a try! The workers here are also super welcoming and kind - they'll make you want to come back!
Lilly Baker: This is my favorite place to get sushi downtown. I like to go for lunch because they have some good lunch specials. I've had several rolls and their ramen. I have had better ramen, but it wasn't bad. I prefer the spicy roll combo at lunch, which also come with miso soup if you dine in. It is pretty small so not great for a large group, but for a couple people it's great. They are always very fast and very friendly staff.
서광원: 깨끗하고 고소한 맛.친절한 주인.
Kendall Garcia: I've been coming here since 2014 and I have loved every second of it. The staff are so kind, the food is AMAZING and for an AMAZING price you get that amount plus more. Highly highly recommend this to anyone wanting great food.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

It’s always served fresh and full of flavor . Also the waitress are always very observant and attentive . I never have to ask for anything . Very well mannered and great hospitality. Which all rounds off to a very good experience every time I come , not to mention I drive nearly a hour just to get it ! Thank you ato family for making me feel appreciated. Again , thank youVegetarian options: Veg ramen 10/10Dietary restrictions: I do not consume pork or beef and they have plenty of option that doesn’t contain either

Nicole Halstead: I love the atmosphere of this place, and the food was amazing. The takoyaki here was better than some of the takoyaki that I had in Japan.
Elma: Went in by myself for lunch, and it was just ok. The sushi was definitely over priced for what I got, and there was no free pop refills which is weird. I spent $45 for soup, 4 rolls and a drink. I won’t be coming back in the near future, there are far better sushi places near by for way better value..and free drink refills.
Sandra Billingsley: So good! We had the Harry Potter roll and the Chois! So good! Sake was excellent as well as my husband cocktail! We had crab Rangoon as appetizer, and it didn't disappoint!

Madeley Tarazona: The food in this place is delicious but they gave us lousy service, the cutlery was not brought by the girl along with the food, the napkins were brought at the end and she did not bring the sauce for the sushi I had to go ask her, she is a girl with glasses with wavy hair, the girl doesn't have the slightest bit of being American, her face is more like a Latina.

Fatima Galvez: Our waitress taught me so many things about Sake. She took the time to explain and teach things from her culture with no judgment. The sushi was amazing and well priced.

PROTOSLEDGE: I got take-out, the Chicken Teriyaki. I don't leave reviews often but I had to immediately after finishing eating. You get a TON of food, a deliciously simple avocado roll (this varies daily I think), vegetable and shrimp tempura, rice, miso soup, the chicken teriyaki itself (which tasted INCREDIBLE, I was so sad when it was gone!), along with Ponzu and Soy sauce. All for $13ish. 10/10 I WILL be ordering again!

Maru Sushi & Grill: what do users think?
Julia: American Sushi done right! Very delicious and full of freshness and the perfect atmosphere/service. Loved my time and would like to go again soon
Josip Benko: I lost faith in sushi in Grand Rapids but this place has redeemed my faith and then some! You need to try the deep fried sweet potato!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi Roll, Rolls, Miso Soup …More
Nigel Wu: We ordered firecracker shrimp and chef special sushi. Both were pretty good. The service was good. The chef special is customized and is based on your preference. So it might take awhile for the chef to make them. We waited about 40 mins for our sushi. It's worth the wait. But I would recommend ordering more appetizers and some not so complicated sushi if you are ordering the chef special.
A F: The sushi is worth the wait. But the wait can sometimes be too long hence the 4/5 stars
Ruchika Kakwani: Service was super slow but the food and servers were amazing!Recommended dishes Rolls, Firecracker Shrimp …More
Andy Ly: I brought my family here for my moms birthday and I had high expectations due to the previous reviews, but I was overall disappointed at the service and the quality of food. It took 50 minutes for our food to come out, and by then it was closing time. Our waitress was quite curt, unfriendly and kept rushing us even though it was the kitchens fault for not having the food finished sooner. The food was also way too salty and the dishes sloppily prepared. Will not be coming back here in the future and I suggest you try a different establishment.
FriedChicken: Food is good, menu kinda like a fusion Japanese/Korean restaurant. Very cool vibe to chill and enjoy your food. Aesthetically everything are great.Cost wise, their sushi is like $2-3 more than average. Does it worth the extra cost because it is picture worthy, it is up to you. I don't think so. If you want the best bang for your buck, order their rice dishes. For average appetite, you order two signature rolls, that's almost $40.
Francesca Parnham: Maru is always consistently good. The restaurant has great vibes and the service is excellent. I’ve had Avery as a server almost every time I’ve been recently and she is absolutely phenomenal. Cocktails are delicious and balanced!
Jessie Palmer: So disappointing. We drove from out of town to celebrate the birthday of a dear friend. We had been to other Maru locations and had high hopes, but alas, we were sorely disappointed. We went for sushi... Maru is a sushi restaurant. They were out of tuna, and had zero other sashimi style fish available on the menu. Unfortunately neither the hostess nor our server told us this until we had already consumed cocktails and could not leave without it being awkward. So we ordered alternate (cooked) choices, and they were very disappointing, plus everything all came out at once rather than in courses. There wasn't enough room on the table and my husband couldn't reach his steak because they put other plates in front of him. By the time he finished his appetizer, it was cold and our server was nowhere to be found. My hibachi salmon was salty, like it had been soaked overnight in soy sauce. Another server stopped by our table and said "you don't want more drinks, do you"? A third server stood at our table and watched my friend eat his last couple of bites, then snatched the plate as soon as he put his chopsticks down. The manager(?) Brought our checks before we even ordered dessert, and already had it split, rather than asking if we were on a single bill (we were planning to treat our guests for my friends birthday) which created yet another awkward situation. My husband wrote on the bill that he would like a call from the manager to discuss our evening- it has been a week and still no call. The wine was good, though... too bad I couldn't get a second glass. :(
Dan Elzinga: This was my first time ever to a sushi restaurant so I really have nothing to say about the food. Could be great, could be mediocre, I have nothing to compare it with. The service, however was the strangest restaurant service experience I have had in the United States. They were out of Tuna, which seems like a fairly big deal for a sushi restaurant, but it wasn’t until we tried to order that the waitress told us that.Despite a question about salad dressings when ordering, and believing we had ordered blue cheese dressing, it wasn’t until the salads came out that we were told there is only one salad dressing option.Timing of the food was off, the hibachi course was delivered at the same time as the rolls and there really wasn’t room on the table for everything. When food arrived it was the last time our waitresses came to our table.I’ve never been ghosted by a waitress. It was strange. She was still there serving other tables but never so much as acknowledged our existence after that point. After this we had at least 5 other staff come over to clear plates, refill drinks etc, which was rather awkward, and felt like we were being rushed out. At one point one of the staff who came to pick up plates literally stood there waiting for me to eat the last bite and then took my plate as soon as I set down my chopsticks. Then, I assume it was the manager came over with our checks and asked if we wanted one check or two. Even though she had clearly already run two separate checks. When we said we had thought about dessert she was clearly annoyed. It just kept getting stranger and stranger the longer we were there, so we opted to go elsewhere for dessert.

Tophiachuu Chuu: Service was great… but managers are so rude. Treat their employees like garbage… did some research on the background of this company and looks like it’s an ongoing problem. Real shady, Maru. Not going to be stopping here again. That’s for sure.

Mike Webb: Very good! I had the Ocean's Eleven and my wife had hibachi, with both of us sharing the crab rangoon dip. It took a little while to get to us, but when it did the food was great. Good service and a fun atmosphere.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Crab Rangoon Dip, Specialty Rolls …More
Heather Morrison: A great place to grab dinner with friends to catch up! They have a large variety of appetizers and entrees, so everyone will find something they enjoy. As a table, we tried a couple of apps and a handful of different rolls and everything was delicious. The Crab Rangoon Dip is very creamy and rich and the Gyoza is perfect. For rolls, we ordered the Cali, Philly, Crouching Tiger, Ex-Girlfriend, Nirvana, and Crunchy Crab. Everything was delicious. For drinks, I tried the Soup Lemonade and I think the sangria. Both were good!Parking: Parking can be challenging close to the building but you can always find something, you might just have to walk a few blocks.

Poke Poke - Sushi Unrolled: what do users think?
Bridge Z: Loved everything about this poke place except the yellowfin tuna was very fishy tasting like it had been sitting out too long or very old. You could smell the Tuna from many feet away. Chloe Christina: Food is never fresh, breaks so many health code violations, and treats staff like garbage. Don't know how it's still running as a store.Food: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
JC Olson: Food was great, nice choices and the dinning area was clean. They have make your own bowl or signature bowls. Boba tea and mochi ice cream. Miso soup and a rewards program. Catering available. This is a chain that has many other locations around Michigan and 2 in Florida. Only thing I have to say “bad” is my server was at a 1/100 for enthusiasm or just happiness, it really seemed like she would rather be doing something else or not there, she was not helpful and was very short with her answers, even though it was just myself and wife in the building.
Natalie Tan: Decent enough.Recommended dishes Large Bowl, Avocado, Edamame, Poke …More
Lilly Baker: The food is good, I've only done takeout. It may be a little overpriced but it was good food. They have a lot of poke options and it's nice to be able to customize your bowl to exactly what you want.
Leah Mangan: I used to like Poke Poke. Disappointed at the price of $13 for a bowl that you don't even get that much in. They used to give you a fair amount of rice, but it seems like they've stopped doing that. Food, especially the tuna doesn't taste as good anymore. At first I thought it tasted okay but by the time I was almost done it started to taste like it was bad. I also do not like how it's hard to hear the staff and they can't hear you there. This place is just not comfortable, will not be returning.
Shelby Baker: I was pretty disappointed with my experience here yesterday. The sushi meat did not appear to be as fresh as I would have liked in addition to my avocado being brown. Also I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by coming in to place and order. I’ve had much better experiences at Poke Toki Cascade, as others have mentioned.
Nick Verburg (Tejas Ananta): I'm actually a doordash driver in the city of Grand rapids I've been doing this for 6 years. Uber driver I actually picked up one of the co-owners of this restaurant several times. It might have been a different location by think it was this one too.I walked in there today to deliver an order for them and I asked if I could quickly use the bathroom I just need to use it real quick. They told me that the bathroom is only for customers and that I had to buy something in order to use. I'm pretty sure that most places locked up bathroom to keep the riffraff out. But I'm not riffraff I'm definitely working with them they're selling food because I'd pick up their orders. no other restaurants in Grand rapids have ever done that to me. I will not be picking up any other orders from this location. If they don't respect us and see us like every other restaurant in Grand rapids as a team partner I don't care. And this was the manager that told me this.
1Wiuk: The fish was really dry and the fruit and vegetables (except for the cucumber) tasted very spoiled. The pineapple straight up tasted like it had started to ferment.
Kaan Gill: I love Poke but this place just isn’t it. First time I wasn’t even able to walk out with my food when my total came to $55.xx I forgot my wallet and only had a hundred dollar bill. They wouldn’t accept it. Oh well, I guess I’ll try this place another time. When I was finally able to try the poke I could tell right away the ingredients did not seem fresh. The portions were small and overpriced and the unfriendliness of the staff was enough to make me never go back.
Söl: Fantastic boba tea!!
John Green: The place was dirty and the food wasn't good.
Randal Cole: Got turned down service because I came in with one other friend. They insisted they only service one person at a time and would not service us because we're a group of 2. Utterly astonishing lack of service.
Nicole Larson: Was just refused service because she can’t serve groups…..there were 2 of us!Absolutely terrible customer service.Parking: Awful parking
Amberly Marckini: Use to be super good and I thought the price was worth it before, but since the portions are getting smaller over time and recently almost every order is terribly wrong or missing things such as all sauces I'm sad to say I can no longer spend my money here. I'll give it a shot in a few months with hopes they listen to their customers and make some improvements. Tonight's meal was 2 regular Bowls (not large) for over $40 with no sauce (because it's missing) and missing ingredients. Horrible.
Pearl marie: I would give them zero stars if I could. Just had an all-around terrible experience will never go there again.
Brianna Simonson: I went here to pick up a door dash order and I asked to use the bathroom and they said I have to buy something lol…. Ok.
Randy Brokaw: Kicked out in the cold due to “large party” exceedence (family of 5). We were the only customers in the store.Around 11am on 3/9, we wanted to have a little snack before the children’s museum across the street opened. Never had a chance to try the food. We were informed only 2 people were working today and their staff levels today didn’t allow for “large parties”. Apparently, one family of 5 were too much for them to handle this cold day in early March. We notified the terrified young lady behind the counter that the kids were going to just play at the table with their toys (Polly pockets) while the adults eat. She then informed us that the kids aren’t allowed to play in the store. Confused, we told her the kids were going to play at our table with their toys. She, again, said she couldn’t handle large parties. Godsmacked with the “large party” limitation at this store, we informed the no longer terrified and now rude young girl behind the counter of our intention to hang out for a moment while we Google an alternative. She boldly told us that we can’t hang out because she can’t handle large parties. This sunny day in Grand Rapids was 39° and would have appreciated a little time inside a warm place to figure out another place. She said we only have a few minutes and can’t hang out. This has been the strangest interaction I’ve had in a business. I understand the lack of staffing at restaurants have made it difficult to serve customers properly, but the lack of empathy and patience for us to find a suitable alternative for our family is unacceptable. The customer HAS to abide by OUR, the vendor, rules and you must take your family outside in the cold immediately.
Britteny Kilbourn: My coworkers and I placed an order for 10 people for work the day before. The order was confirmed and scheduled no problem. Got no correspondence, again, the day before, it would be an issue. When I got there to pick it up I got a huge amount of sass from the worker stating “we really put them behind” and “next time we need to go through catering” as there was only one other customer in there and as if we weren’t paying customers as well. So while the food was good the portions were kind of small for the high price and the larger tip was clearly not appreciated.
Caroline Jansen: Idk it was fast and the workers were nice. The rice was pretty overcookedFood: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Edamame, Watermelon Radish …More

Maru Sushi Bridge Street: what do users think?
Matthew Niedner: Great ambiance, great service, excellent sushi, and the food is plated beautifully!
Josiah Schrotenboer: I love that they finally renamed this place from Ando to show the same ownership and consistency from the other Maru that I've loved for years. This place is a great place to grab some yummy sushi!
Walter Gutowski: Daren is the man. Food is always on pointFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ryan s: Sushi was good, although I've had much less expensive sushi that was just as good.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Todd OHearn: Great first experience!
Sarah Bly: Food is decent. Buuuut the 12 staff just talking loudly at the hostess stand and at the door to the kitchen has been so so unpleasant. Yes, we’re here early and there’s not many people here..Buut for goodness sake.. RESPECT!!! I did feel like we interrupted the pre shift meeting. Let the people eat. 😑
Scott Smith: Darren is the best bartender I have ever experienced on the west side.
Terry Dodds: I come here quite often. The food is always great. Every server that I have had has been wonderful.Kid-friendliness: I have two boys that I bring quite often.
CASEY: Milena was so sweet, the best server! The Cosmo roll and spicy tofu appetizer are 10/10! :)
Andrea Blandford: Food and service is always excellent
Scott Suchecki: Delicious Sushi, took 45 min to come out, we got there before the rush.Water and cocktails sat empty for probably 10 minutes before the server checked in.Other hosts dragged the chairs of the tables they were setting making loud awful noises, when they could have tried to lift and slide them.
Damian Huber: Love this place. If you don't like sushi then you are a lot like me. They have other options and the food is freaking phenomenal. I highly recommend.Parking: It's downtown Grand rapids so if you have been down there before you know it's not easy to find a place to park.
Jennifer Sutherby: Great food, good service. Took a bit longer than I anticipated, hence the 4 stars. Clean and nice atmosphere.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi Parking space Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options Paid street parking …More
Jentry Patulski: Very beautiful place, and the service was adequate. The food, although was overpriced for what you got. We got a few sushi options, a ramen and some appetizers. The sushi kept falling apart, making it hard to pick up, but the flavor was good. Our Ramen pork belly was dry and hard. We paid 8 dollars for a 6oz lemonade with no refills, which we felt was a huge disappointment. Overall, I wouldn't go back. There are lots of beautiful spots with great food and at cheaper prices.
Nate Bailey: Had a really nice atmosphere, the cocktails were very enjoyable and we had a great server. I would have loved to come back here in the future.Unfortunately, nothing on the menu is labeled as gluten free, usually not a big issue with sushi as many items can easily be made gluten free. This was not the case here. The waiter (who did a wonderful job) made me feel as if the modifications we made to our selections wouldn’t be an issue (to be made gluten free). After watching many of the tables around us be seated and then served before us it was clear that wasn’t really the case. When we did finally get our food one of the options wasn’t brought out and we were told we weren’t able to get it because they were out of rice….?! Fortunately we ordered more than we needed and we didn’t go hungry. To be fair, all of the food we got was excellent. Just can not recommend this place to the gluten sensitive.
Paul Marsman: Food is 5 stars, however the time to get it was too long. My wife and I went there for lunch today. We ordered with the dining room half full at best, didn’t get our lunch special rolls at the table for an hour. Even table next to us was complaining that they had been there for an hour with no food. Server stopped and said they were cutting the sushi, took another 15 minutes to get our total of 4 rolls. COMPLETELY unacceptable for a lunch special place that was NOT super busy to take so long. The server did take $10 off without us asking, but still paid $50 after tip. Go here if you aren’t in a hurry and want great sushi, otherwise shrug
Emma Cavitt: As much as I love sushi I can’t stop coming back every time Darren is working. His work ethic his out of this park and did I mention he is drop dead gorgeous?! 10/10 for the food 11/10 for the staff. Keep doing your thing Boo!
Rabbi Porkchop: Decent sushi nothing special.Vegetarian options: Not bad, at least they have some.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Edamame, Sushi …More
Nate: Waited about an hour and 15 minutes for our food. Server checked on us once after we ordered food about an hour into the wait, and we had to ask the status. I can understand a bit longer wait since it was a Saturday night on a very busy holiday weekend, but no one should ever have to wait that long for food at a restaurant. If the kitchen is so backed up you are unable get food out in a reasonable time, you should not be seating that many tables. My wife and I were just in town for a weekend getaway with no plans but felt bad for others around us waiting who had a concert to get to. Aside from the service issues, the food was good, not great. Nothing to write home about for the price.
Jennie Lefler: I went there to get a “to-go” order and it took an hour and fifteen minutes for me to receive my order 😳 Obviously they were pretty busy and the kitchen seemed to be backed up. It would have been nice for them to tell me the wait was going to be over an hour before letting me place and pay for my order. I would have much rather went somewhere else as I was already really hungry before arriving. That being said, when I did get my order it was delicious…but it was a bit pricey.
Jon Busch: Went for my nieces 21st birthday!!! Hands down the best service ever. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff stayed 40 minutes past closing time so that we could celebrate this special day. Thank you for an amazing night.
