Destiny Johnson: WARNING TO ALL WOMEN OF COLOR! Do not get a consultation or work done here! The doctor I had barely took a look at and made basic assumptions based on my race to determine my skin condition. Do your research BEFORE going into an appointment. Don’t make the same mistake I did by just trusting the dermatologist to understand you and listen to your concerns. Wasted my money. I found out on my own what my skin condition is and I wont be going back EVER!

Laura Brouwers: I saw a dermatologist in FL that offered some hope for my condition, coming back to MI I came here and was offered no hope, no treatment options, and it was probably "my fault" there was a giant bald spot on my head. Left with a script to some mail-order pharmacy I didn't want to use. Waste of my time and money.

Kree C: It’s SO difficult to reach medical staff even when calling back right away or when a call disconnected, the staff member did not call me backIt also took over three months to get an appointmentThey then scheduled me with the doctor but I ended up seeing a physician assistant and now they won’t let me switch back to the doctor I was supposed to see originally and I had not been notified of the change until time of appt.It took longer than they said it would to get results of a biopsy which was abnormal- frustrating-I’ve been trying to schedule an additional biopsy for 1.5 weeks yet no one seemed to know what was going on, multiple voicemails left and now they said I cant go to rivertown locationIve been trying to get to their rivertown location because I saw a provider at the east beltline office - before the offices merged and only they took my insurance- now they wont let me switch to the rivertown location. I am the patient and I should be able to go to the office closest to my home. I am a medical provider and im very upset about the “care” ive received.

I’ve struggled with eczema my entire life and now, I’ve finally found relief and a doctor who knows how to help me. Dr. Sweney was remarkable, made me feel comfortable, and laid out treatment plans for me. The prescriptions worked in a matter of 2-3 days, and I’ve never had such a great experience. 10/10. Cant believe it’s taken me 21 years to find help, but I did here! Can’t wait for my follow up!

Clean: I’m happy with this practice but I’ve had it twice now where they are supposed to do follow up (once with a spider vein procedure I had asked for and, recently, a prescription they said I could try for blister-like spots on my feet). Both times I believe it was the assistant that is supposed to be writing down what the doctor/PA is telling her that has dropped the ball.

Tray Parker: I met Dr Stawiski last year. By the time my referral and appointment were done I had no symptoms so he couldn’t do much for me. It was frustrating but it is what it is. He is older but I found if you make conversation he will talk to you. He was quick but his office is a pretty busy place. The other day I needed to get in and I had Beth. I had a 20-25 minute wait but they did squeeze me in. The blond nurse, she was so sweet. She asked a lot of questions and even took time to listen. She was very caring as well. I met Beth. I really like her. I was sobbing and she said we will get answers. She was warming, caring, patient and she took care of me. She finally got me comfortable. Thank you Beth. I see so many bad reviews. Just be patient guys and don’t judge by if they come off rushed at first. They have things going on too. -Tracy Stachnik

Alice Butcher: A nice person but spends a minimal time with a patient. 2 or 3 minutes and you are out of the exam room after he comes in. He needs to retire. Changed to another dermatologist.

Didn’t even care to ask what medications I’m already taking/using. Waited a half hour past my appointment time until I got in. Went in for scaring and acne he barely checked my face for 5 seconds. They only recommended using antibiotics or Accutane!!!! ZERO STARS I WILL NEVER COME BACK

Amy Adams: I have a history of skin cancer and terrible acne. I went to the office for a full body scan + to manage the acne, the doctor was in the room for MAYBe 5 minutes, barely even looked at my back where I have TONS of spots that need examination didn’t take 5 seconds to look at any other part of my body (for the full body scan), didn’t have any sort of conversation about my acne or things I’ve tried, wrote a script, handed it to me and told me to come back in a year! Now, my first skin cancer I had on my face for a couple of years because the dermatologist told me it was just sun damage, I was too young for skin cancer, so having this experience was HORRIFYING!

Audrey Hoekwater: As a medical professional in a high stress facility, I cannot begin to imagine how these outpatient specialists justify not giving the time of day to patient concerns. Came in for a cyst removal. Received no education regarding care for stitching from the female nurse employed here who administered the stitches. Called as soon as I suspected infection, to which there was no call back or response from facility. I returned for a self-initiated “check up” once healed, to check on large scar on back, to which same RN blamed me for infection, despite frequent calls once infection was suspected. She provided zero education for post stitching care. If you must come here, highly recommend staying away from this RN (wish I could get her name) older lady with dark hair. After years of practice you’d assume and hope for better. After taking a look at scar, she told me it was unfixable. I’ve been living in Chicago for a year and have had multiple dermatologists tell me this is certainly not the case- I am having scar repaired here with none of the “concerns” she warned me of. That’s the benefit of having a doctor look at your concerns and not an unhelpful RN. Unfriendly staff, unhelpful and most definitely not practicing evidence based practice. Left me with a large scar in back at 23 years old with no hope of repair until I finally consulted other derms. Highly suggest looking elsewhere in GR. Again, do not trust the dark haired tall nurse here- she doesn’t know what she’s doing.

C. P.: My appointment was scheduled one week after referral. I saw Dr Stawiski and he took the time to examine all the issues I was having. I thought he was very nice and thorough.

Dezeri Smith: He left me frustrated, he just came in (Stawiski)for 2 to 3 minutes tops looked at my hairline and diagnosed my hair loss as hereditary, without allowing me to really ask the questions that I needed answered, he gave me a little talk time but he was in and out of the room so quick , I didn’t feel satisfied with the way he conducted his manners as far as not letting his patients ask questions they may have because hair loss can be a traumatic experience especially for women, so maybe him giving a little more time to ask questions to understand out of concern to the patient, can possibly help the issue to feel less traumatic and can give some understanding, he needs to start giving his patients chances to address concerns with him because that can help with the acceptance and healing process.

Her appointment was on a Friday, improvement was evident on Sunday. Dr. Strikwerda and Dr. Patel are great. The staff were great as well, cordial, professionalism and presented great attitudes.

Randy Hutson: I dd my due diligence when reviewing Minor and the procedure I had done on my nose for a minor basal spot removed. Unfortunately he botched it. Although he apologized I now have a lop sided nose. And yes I did all the required items post and pre op. I personally would not have him due surgery on me again.

Laura Howell: Dr. Miner and his staff are amazing. I had to have a large spot removed from my cheek, and even though he runs a very busy practice, I never felt rushed or like I wasn't a priority. Even after completing thousands of these procedures, Dr. Miner is caring and compassionate and makes sure the job is done with as little long term effect as possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
