I was in there for about 10 minutes and she asked me my name four times. She kept saying it sounded familiar but she seemed 😕 confused. Needless to say I left. If you can't even find our tasting order how can we trust you with our wedding cake?

Out of an entire baby shower, not one person liked it. We even made an announcement of where the cake was made so people could be warned NOT to go here. Flavorless and uneven filling throughout that didn't even make it to the ends of the cake. I promise you, you're better off with a Meijer cake. If you like overpriced filmy plastic tasting frosting with dry cake, then you'll love this place.

We went with Oreo, the chocolate cupcake with chocolate chips, raspberry rubaeus, and spice. Most of the time people don’t even eat the cake or cupcakes but we got 12 dozen for 120 guests and had about a dozen left. The Oreo and chocolate chip were most popular with spice probably being least. Our main cake was fingertip which was so good! Very happy to go with dreamscapes as they are easy to work with and delicious!!! Still getting compliments on the cupcakes

The cupcakes themself were small and dry, the frosting on top was sloppy and uneven throughout, and multiple people said they couldn't taste any difference between some of the flavors. The start of disappointment was a week before our wedding we were asked to change our order/flavors. Next, was the fact that no box was left to pack up the remaining cake so it got destroyed as we tried to make shift a take home box. Lastly, several of our guests complained that the cupcakes were dry. All around not a good experience and would not recommend them.

Regina Ramos: My wedding was 10.8.22. I ordered a small wedding cake and a dessert bar with vanilla vegan cupcakes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and Rice Krispy treats dipped in chocolate. Jason's baking skills are AMAZING and everyone raved about how delicious everything was. He also delivered them to the venue. Sadly I had to give them 3 stars because my wedding cake was made incorrectly. I asked for a naked cake with berries and we just had a naked cake without anything. My wedding planner just put our cake topper on it. When we had our tasting, I felt very ignored because the staff was more occupied with chatting with their friends and the associate who was taking my order kept rushing me. She kept saying "we do this all the time". I know she was taking notes but the finer details were not documented. My advice to couples, make sure you document everything, especially how you want your cake to be decorated. I was not offered compensation for the mistake and I didn't feel the need to ask for money back because I was pleased with the taste of the product and the delivery went smoothly.

Terrible business practice on their end, especially when you’re dealing with things like specialty birthday cakes.

Back then I was looking for a high quality gluten free cakes and was so impressed that I never went anywhere else.One of the things that I particularly loved was being able to call them up with cake specs and a general theme (in the past examples of themes have been gaming, puppies, etc for my kids' cakes) and they would make something great. Just one masterpiece after another.I did the same thing recently. I called them up a few days before the event and asked if they could make a cake. They couldn't in that amount of time. Fair enough, so I moved the event to a week later when they said they could have the cake done.I asked for a "bakery" theme and honestly I didn't care what it looked like. They could have done an outline of a mixing spoon with "Happy birthday" on it and I would have been over the moon. I verbalized this on the phone to the person taking the order. I said "I don't care what it looks like; you guys always do a good job; literally anything is fine." The employee asked that I email a photo for inspiration. I said I would try to do that asap, but that honestly anything is fine.I went through the entire ordering process. They had all my contact information. No one ever said anything about prepaying.After I got off the phone I proceeded to have one of the worst weeks of my life. The bakery is obviously not at fault for this, but what it meant was that I completely forgot to send the email.When I went to the bakery to pick it up and they simply hadn't made it at all!They said that it was my fault for not prepaying and not sending the email. Sending the email is completely on me, but not prepaying is completely on them. I had said many times over "literally anything is fine." The worker offered to "whip something up real quick" for me and I just thought to myself "why couldn't you have done that a week ago when I originally wanted the cake? That's what I literally asked you to do in so many words."No call, no follow up, no cake. Won't be back.

It does not look like the same company and/or person made it. Not a chance.We discussed the cake theme months in advance, and you can tell it was done last minute. Uneven, sloppy, parts falling off, etc. A bunch of inedible, laminated, poorly printed, signs? Did not expect that nor was that on our previous cake. When we picked it up, we were even told they were struggling with what to do the day before. Additionally, none of the colours we discussed were used in the cake. If you look at the photos, it literally looks like it was put together by a kid.My wife was in such shock that she just paid and brought the cake home.Cake aside, the worst part about the situation was how it was handled. As soon as we got home and took a closer look, we called them to discuss if there is anything that we can do to remedy this, as our sons birthday was the next day.There seemed to be zero care that we were not happy with the cake. We were maybe expecting an offer to revise it last minute, provide an alternative, something. Instead, it was just a quick, ‘There’s nothing I can do. I can give you a partial refund’. End of story. It ended up being $50 for a nearly $300 cake.Although we understand it is a cake for a two year old’s party, and there are worse things to deal with in life, when paying a premium price, and considering an awesome previous year experience, we were expecting the same level of quality, service, and care.We will definitely not be recommending or using Amethyst again, not just due to the decline in quality, but the lack of care and handling of the situation.The ‘second’ star of the review is for the taste and flavour of the cake. It was good.Response to Owners Reply:The fact that there wasn’t one ‘sorry’ or ‘I apologize’ in your response says it all.We’re not going to even waste our time rebutting every point you made in your response.If there was an honest apology and effort to resolve the situation, 20 minutes later from when we picked up the cake, this review would not be here.

I frantically reached out Saturday evening, with little hope that they'd be able to make one for me. I requested a Geode cake, which I had always wanted, making the ask extra unlikely. To my surprise, they agreed to make my cake for Monday & oh my goodness, it exceeded ALL expectations. Not only was the cake GORGEOUS, but it was also delicious!!!! I got pink champagne cake w/buttercream frosting, and both my husband and I said it was the best cake we've ever had (including our wedding cake)! The cake was perfectly moist, with crispy/chewy edges & the frosting was truly divine. I'm so grateful to them for their kindness & flexibility, we will be getting all of our cakes there from now on, Amethyst Bee is not only professional, but truly seems to be the best in GR!! I'm already planning next year's cake!

Cheyenne Kelly: Can’t say I’m satisfied enough to come back. I sent photos, described specifics and confirmed what I was after and the order wasn’t 100% what I was after. We discussed a color theme and yet all the colors in the theme weren’t used. For $60 I expected a appetizing cookie, I get I paid for pretty but they weren’t accurate. And I would expect for 12 cookie that I could get a box where they weren’t stacked 3-4 deep. Some frosting flattened and I didn’t really plan to transfer them to a nice display but was kinda forced to.
