Wildlife Rehab Center: what do users think?
Donna Taylor: Thank you WMWCR for arranging volunteers to pick up the little opossum 🙏 I know it will get taken care of, and it's medical needs met. It's such a sweet little thing 💗 we just happened to cross paths today, for a reason.
John Deer: Hey I have called 4 times and no answer. How do I set up a drop off if I can't get ahold of you guys? jw I work 3rd shift so getting a bit frustrated from staying awake in the morning sorry
Lynsey Heiss: I've sent so many critters here. I love this place and am very thankful it exists
Shan T-N: They responded to my text inquiry right away. Directions for dropping off animals was very clear. Great work. Great website.
Danyle Nevius: My husband found an injured night hawk at work. They took it in.
Kacey T: They’re doing amazing work for our wild critters in need, staffed by volunteers. We’re lucky to have such help so nearby.
Valentine Heart: I volunteer here on Sundays, from 8-12, and they didn't let me get any breaks, so I was on my feet for my entire shift. Other than that, it's a wonder place, most other volunteers are so friendly, and
Laura Hobson: We are so lucky to have a place to take injured and orphaned wildlife in our city!! They’re quick to text back even though they’re completely volunteer-run. Thank you THANK YOU for being here for the animals. I have their # saved in my phone bc you never know when you’ll need it! Please donate if you’re able so they can continue to provide care for the creatures of our city :-)
Miss Chris: Three weeks ago, we brought in a young injured blue jay. My husband called first because he does not text. The volunteer who answered the phone was very helpful. We arrived ten minutes before the early evening opening hours. The volunteer opened the door promptly at 5pm. The facility is located in a beautiful, historic residential neighborhood. The paperwork we had to fill out was brief and easy. While we were still filling out the form, the veterinarian arrived. The volunteer thanked us for the donation and told us that the vet was already attending to the bird. We don't know the outcome of the bird, but that was to be expected because we read on Wildlife Rehab's website and was told on the phone that follow-up calls are few and far between because of the volume of incoming calls they handle daily in addition to basic animal care. It was overall a very good experience.
Sara Levering: Caring people always willing to help.
Dani: I am endlessly grateful for Wildlife Resource Center and the tremendously difficult work they do. They clearly care about what is best for the animals and finding the most humane next step. They have provided necessary guidance and expertise in a compassionate way, even with they have had to deliver harsh truths about the reality of an animal’s situation. In the last few years, I have connected with them about several animals and have gotten to see their sort of spectrum of care. From providing education about when intervention is not needed, to welcoming an animal into their rescue facility, to providing end of life relief for an animal whose suffering couldn’t be fixed. I felt panicked each time I encountered an injured animal and was met with their calm support. They do not charge a fee for their services, so I encourage anyone who is able to make a donation after receiving assistance to ensure they can keep doing the wonderful work they do. They have empowered me to show up for animals in a different way (everyone should keep an empty box in their car!) and our community is better for having Wildlife Rehab Center in it.
Clair Holstege: So thankful to have an organization like this in our area committed to helping wildlife. True hero’s doing such important work! ❤️
Yvonne Bice: Very disappointed in their inability to respond to new volunteers. Most people aren't aware of the classes or certifications required in Michigan; which should be the first thing you tell a concerned person or volunteer. The need of the concerned person to have a class or a certification in order to have the animal returned to the person, who brought the injured animal to receive care. They need to inform the concerned person that they are NOT going to get the injured animal back after it is well with out them having the required class or certification.Yvonne Bice and Patricia Davis are very concerned about both of these issues. Honestly is the least you can do for a concerned person, who brings in an injured animal.
Belinda Murray: I used to think this place was amazing until I went through 2 long months not really knowing what was going on with a squirrel that was my absolute ray of sunshine every day after work. I saw how they returned a squirrel to the neighborhood of another family which I thought was cool, so when this little one showed up injured I thought this would be best. I donated money and told them if they needed more just let me know. . . I was told not to worry they would let me know when she was well enough to be released. I understand that they are volunteers and I even turned in paperwork to volunteer myself and got no response. Very very long and frustrating 2 months.
Amy Ewing: My buddy entrusted their squirrel to WRC for medical treatment, making it clear that they would like to return it to known surroundings.Periodically, they respectfully texted for updates. They purchased a carrier for return ride and further nursing care, if necessary, then waited, and waited... After several weeks of not getting clear answers or updates, a volunteer admitted they performed a grand release - letting all the squirrels out together at once. You can imagin the great disappointment between rescuer and squirrel (who trusted said human) that they may never see one another again.Customer service is key. Returning animals to humans, when specific requests are made, is SO IMPORTANT. Follow-up and follow thru is necessary when the two have bonds.Services are appreciated. Trust is important between patient, care-giver, and medicalstaff. Please consider their hearts. We're all in this together - or it will not work.
Steve Grody: Dropped off a stunned baby turk (probably a 4 week old poult). They were quite busy and it took a long time to get it registered. There area LOT Canada geese walking around with broken wings.
robin baldwin: Very knowledgeable caring owner
Donna Dulyea: Oh my gosh what a wonderful place...They run on donations...One of there refrigeratorshas broke ..They are in desperate need of another one for there vegetables and food.If anyone can help please let them know.Grand Rapids Wild life rehab. Located on Union St
Michelle Scudder: I love what they do.. I dropped off some kitten replacement milk for the baby bunnies and a pool for the ducklings.
Rita Karrip: Great place to take injured wildlife. Check out their website to make sure its something they take in otherwise they might give you advice in where to try.
Kerri Keller: The guy seemed a little bothered that I showed up and didn't call first. He commented "I can expect people to just keep showing up on the days we have open drop off" After viewing the profile and determining there were open drop off hours I didn't think I needed to call and I drove from Grand Haven. But it's nice that there is someone to take in and care for the animals. I took care of Tico for a a week or two and decided it was best to hand him over to professionals.

Lowell Farm & Wildlife Center: what do users think?
Carol Guyer: I love this place Sjana is wonderful with all the animals and loves taking care of the babies
Kyle Huff: Excellent facility and friendly service.
Kolton Miller: Called 4 times about attempting to save a coon and was met with nothing in return. Don’t get your hopes up
Blue “SiouxZee”: Takes great care of all the animals!
David Uitdeflesch: We were here on a special occasion so no idea what it would be like normally and there was little in the way of explanation for exactly what they do. Seem to rescue wildlife which I fully appreciate.
Taylor Freund: Don't get your hopes up that this place will rescue roosters. I called 4 times, no answer, before catching my baby roosters and driving out on the hope that this wildlife center was even still operating. Called several more times when I got there (within the stated business hours) and no answer. I finally knocked on the door of the private residence and the owner answered. She stated quickly she could not take the roosters because she had "too many birds already," and then listed off places to which we could try to re-home them, such as calling around to 4H clubs. It only occurred to me later that if this were truly an option, she would have used it herself for her bird overpopulation problem. When I asked if I could help with the overpopulation by taking on some hens, she laughed and said, "that's what everyone wants to do." Yes, but isn't that the point of the wildlife center? To re-home animals to the community or nature? For someone to help rescue or perhaps respectfully put down animals that would otherwise have no chance? She claimed she needed to keep all her hens because she uses their eggs for bringing in funding "that pays for half of their feed," yet if she were willing to re-home a strategic portion of her hen population, she seemingly may not be stuck in the "I have too many birds already" dilemma. Trust me, she had A LOT of hens. Of course it would be impractical to have only roosters, but she still sent us home having to dispatch the 4 roosters (our luck of the draw when we got chicks this year) we had hand fed and raised since chicks ourselves. I had really wanted to spare my husband from having to put them down himself. I understand completely that this is the harsh reality of farm life, I guess, but her short responses and lack of taking care of her own overpopulation problem in meaningful ways that COULD equip her to then rescue more animals rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe she's tired, burnt out, maybe needing help from more volunteers - I don't know - long story short, don't get your hopes up that this place will rescue roosters.
Marianne Holst: Kind owner. Knows what she is doing!
Angie Royce: Mostly known for small animal rescue. Lots of ducks, chickens and gees on the farm and fresh, cage free eggs to show for it!
Sheri Card: Awesome place. Thank you for helping those that cannot help themselves.
kristen gehringer: This place euthanizes all raccoons that are brought to it...😒Please do not call them for raccoons... Not sure what other animals they kill instead of help...😪
mobley Mobley: Was extremely helpful. There in the time of need. Thank you very much.
molly mavaz: Wonderful place to leave animals that have been rescued
Miry jay: They took care of the baby raccoon my husband caught on our front porch
Sandy C: A beautiful place run by true angels. They took in an orphaned baby raccoon that my son and I found. I donated all the money I had secretly stashed away. I cant' think of a better place that is more deserving. I only wish I could give more.
Sheri Hamer: Super nice staff and a great place all around. Thank you for helping the baby bunny.
Jeremy Frey: These people are doing the lord's work! Beautiful place beautiful people!!
Jami Ridi: Very knowledgeable and helpful. Hassle free.
Poppey Seed: Seems like a nice place to take wild animals that you don't know what to do with.
Tracy Ely: We had some trees cut down over the weekend and the crew found 3 baby squirrels. I called and dropped them off immediately and gave a $20 donation. Perfect outcome for these babies.
jimmy youngs: Beautiful place
Pati Heinz: Absolutely beautiful place!! Staff is awesome! So VERY GRATEFUL to them for the love & work they do with animals!!💜

Crash's Landing: what do users think?
Brittany Wilson: A great place for rescued strays!
Jennifer Boelema: Dr Jen is theeeee best! All of her heart and soul she pours in to helping these kitties. I very much enjoy spending time with the kitties. If I could adopt them all, they'd go he with me tomorrow! If you are in ever in the hunt for an amazing cat, these cats have some of the cutest personalities! Always adopt, don't shop! Help the world. Save a kitty.
Becky G: Very well cared for cats. This place is designed to be a kitty haven
Jo Jo: Crash's Landing knew that a cat belonged to my neighbor and purposely adopted the cat out within the week to another person when the owner contacted them. The owner had no opportunity to take care of their cat when he was hurt because another person took him and refused to give the rightful owner his location. My husband works for the vet that the neighbor has used with her animals for years and can speak for the level of care she gave each of her animals and infromed Crash's Landing about the situation. This still wasn't enough for Crash's Landing to do the right thing and make sure reunification happened. The staff also talked to my neighbor in an extremely disrespectful way. What Crash's Landing has done is unethical.
Mary Roe: Wonderful and caring staff
Lisa Phillips: Great new facility to take care of the cats in the rescue. Love all the cat bird seats by the windows and all the feeders to entertain them. The staff did a great job on their open house and were warm and welcoming.
Brittany Allen: They adopted out a pet knowing he belonged to someone else. Our neighbor who has a connection to this shelter brought our other neighbor's cat here. They fixed a wound on his face and took care of him, but when they were told he belonged to someone, they adopted him out anyway. The owners, us and other neighbors contacted Crash's Landing to let them know this cat was owned already. We provided pictures and information. We were told they wouldn't adopt him out until they could sort this out and they did anyway knowing full well from numerous people he had owners already. He was taken by this neighbor under the pretense they were going to take care of the wound and he would be given back. Whenever their owner would ask this "colleague" of the shelter about Jack, she was given misleading information and wouldn't give her any answers. The owners went to this colleague's house several times to get info and was given the runaround. Us neighbors finally pulled our resources together and found out where he was. The neighbors lied to the owner and she never had a chance to claim him. They adopted him out without even giving his owners a chance to get him back. In a pretty condescending and rude email from one of the doctors there, they said that this should serve as some sort of teaching lesson for the owner's granddaughter who is in pre-school, and had nothing to do with anything. It was beyond tacky and insulting. The doctor, Dr. Jennifer, also included a link to a law regarding what is considered a stray. It doesn't apply when a pet is stolen and it's location is being concealed. Anyone on the Westside with a cat, make sure it's microchipped, otherwise the neighborhood Karen will steal it and take it here to be adopted out regardless of owners submitting every single piece of info they asked for.
Chris Start: I adopted my Manilow from here great place
Laura Jakel: Wonderful sanctuary helping at risk kitties be healthy and find forever homes.
Ron Lourigan: What a Great Place! Wonderful caring people saving so many nice kitties. Congratulations on the beautiful new facility.
Aaron Dull: They have amazing cats and will work with you too find the perfect companion.
Teresa: You could not find a better place to get your furever friends. The volunteers and Dr Jen are amazing!! They truly care about the kitties you can just tell when you step inside the building. I got my last two kitties there and would not go anywhere else. Dr Jen saved our girl Wendy after she suddenly got sick this summer and I will forever be grateful of that, she is a amazing vet and person.
Michelle VanAllsburg: Wonderful and caring people.
Keith Remelts: Great cause! You can donate your cans to them! I love that!
Michelle Prins: Best shelter in Michigan!!! I love this place. Super clean and great volunteers.
nathan holstrom: Absalutly the best people!! And their layout and care for these animals is absalutly amazing! We visited to plan an adoption for a chonky lovey fur baby named Roland. The facility is top notch and highly recommend adopting from them!!
A “The Administrator” H: I just started volunteering there and this place is great! It's set up like a home and the cats are free roaming. Only caged temporarily if recovering from surgery or something like that. They receive excellent care and oh my gosh, every single one of the cats are so sweet! Volunteers are vetted heavily so I can only assume thesame for potential adopters, so you can feel confident they are going to good homes. Can't wait to go back!
Rachel Britton: Such an amazing place to find your new best friend! The staff is very caring about the cats and keeping the environment clean and inviting for visitors. Volunteering is really fun too, highly recommend!
Jamie Groom: Great place to find an adult kitty needing a home. They have such a wonderful habitat for the cats - makes a house look so boring!!! It was a bit overwhelming to me, as I wasn't used to meeting cats that were on all levels of the room - most which couldn't have cared less I was there. Happy cats!! They are definitely not begging to leave.
Amanda Wells: This place was an amazing little shelter with kitties in every nook and cranny! The staff knew all the kitties so well and we were very impressed. They helped us pick out the right addition to our family and I highly recommend them! There are lots of babies here who need furever homes go check it out! Also our current kitties were very pleased with the kick sticks and toys we bought that were homemade here!

Michele's Rescue: what do users think?
Ericka Swedberg: Friendly volunteers, thorough application and easy process. They love what they do. Would definitely adopt from them again.
Robert and Barbara Smith: My granddaughter helped me find a young cat to keep me company. It took her a couple of days to come out of hiding to get to know me and her new home. Now she's my cuddle-buddy. The name "Raya", didn't feel right, so now I call her Sweet Pea.
Penny Patterson: The adoption went very smooth. Appreciate all the work done by Michele’s Rescue and the foster family!
Nicole French: Such a great adoption experience - they provided all the vaccinations and spayed our little one and got her microchipped before we took her home. Very friendly foster home too. Thanks for the sweet fuzzy nugget. We got her a friend to play with. 😍
Patricia Orcasitas: Michelle’s Rescue worked so well for us, and we are so blessed to have “Sugar Bear” as part of our family. When it comes time to adopt our next fur kid, we definitely plan to go to them again. Loving this puppy love !!!
Cheryl Howard: Michele’s rescue makes the process of adopting so easy. Their approval process is thorough but, but efficient. They respond to questions quickly via email and are very helpful throughout the adoption.
Roberta Atkins: Drake and I are still adjusting to each other. He is relaxing more and more each day.
Eric Steindler: Our experience was fantastic and we're enjoying our two new family members!
Brian E: I had a great experience with Michele’s Rescue. They did a great job and or organizing the events and offering some free goodies for the new puppy. They are doing great work for animals in need. I would highly recommend them.
Diane Davidson: I adopted two kittens from Michelle’s Rescue. It has been a wonderful experience!! They worked with me to get the perfect kitties! I absolutely love them💕.
Charissa Velazquez: Very easy to work with and the process was seamless.
brianna lewis: Everyone is truly nice and helpful they truly care!
William Lyons: She said in another response that we said we had an appointment. We never said that. An employee said to follow her inside, which I did. The website doesn't state anything about being her personal home. She immediately started yelling at my family and me for leaving her door open. I was just letting them in behind me when we were asked to follow said employee. This person is extremely unpleasant to deal with. We are animal lovers, and I've typically found people like us to be kind and welcoming. I would advise against having any interactions with Michele.*response to last entry-I was asked if I was there for a pickup. I stated that I wasn't. I feel the one star review was completely warranted. After being instructed to follow you inside, I patiently waited at the top of the stairs with my family in tow, only to hear "No no no no! We don't do adoptions. Can you close my door!" We were simply following Google which said you were an animal rescue, which lead us to believe you offered pet adoptions. We just wanted to give a dog a new home, and we were treated like we were barging into someone's house, after being invited. If we had been told otherwise beforehand we would have simply gotten in our car and left. We are nothing of not respectful, and did not deserve the treatment we received. Maybe you were just having a bad day, but the way you described how things went down is an outright lie. I was completely honest about why we were there, and didn't barge into the house. I was instructed to follow, so that is what I did. This was clearly a big misunderstanding, and you could have explained that to my wife, children, and myself with kindness, instead you chose to treat us like trespassers, and bad people. Clearly you aren't skilled at dealing with the general public. Perhaps you should state more clearly the nature of your business online so people can steer clear of your home.
Ellen Mancino: Re: The one star review posted by Olivia McBrideI am the volunteer your husband initially talked to. I apologize - I thought your husband was there to pick up one of the 9 puppies I had just transported to Michele’s home. When he said he hoped to adopt I interpreted that as our “foster to adopt” program, thus I asked him to wait by the door while I grabbed Michele. We are completely volunteer based and I don’t know everyone - so I pulled Michele away from bathing poo-covered puppies to help him. She tried to explained the rescue is foster based, this was her personal home…and then she asked him to close the door (that’s how pets escape). There was no yelling. Your family simply walked back to your vehicle when she tried to talk to you about checking out the available animals on our website and filling out an application.I honestly don’t see what the fuss is about; but it’s certainly not worth a one star bashing review of a 501(c) that we volunteers donate our time, energy and hearts to, on top of balancing work, home and family. Anyone who has spent any time with Michele knows this is her livelihood and there isn’t anyone better in animal rescue in SW Michigan.
Olivia McBride: There was a miscommunication on the website so we showed up in hopes to find a home for a new dog. This woman was incredibly rude, she was yelling at our family within seconds of us arriving. We explained the situation and her attitude didn’t get any better. I would strongly not recommend working with this business.
Melissa Corbeil: So great to work with! Got to bring my fur baby home this morning. They were super responsive and truly just want what's best for the animals. If your thinking of adopting through a rescue definitely give them a shout!
Anna Hagstrom: We had the best experience adopting our puppy with Michelle’s Rescue! Very professional and personable.
Makayla Babson: Over the phone, Valeria was completely lovely and helpful, she helped me understand the adoption process and seemed like she really cared about me adopting a kitten.Although when I went to pet smart to adopt my kitten, after my application had been completely approved and I had an appointment to meet a couple different kittens, the experience was not as great. I asked to hold the kitten I was interested in and Pat basically told me that no I couldnt because that wouldnt change who I wanted to adopt... ok so I never even got to pet the kitten I chose before I adopted him. Then after I had picked the kitten I wanted to adopt I just felt completely uncomfortable and judged by Pat while we were signing the contract. She was questioning if my cat was fixed and vaccinated... well hello, Micheles rescue has to call your vet and make sure of these things before you are even approved for adoption. I dont know if she was not having a great day or if she was looking down on me because I am a young adult.I wasnt exactly planning on adopting that day but the timing just worked out so I didnt have my cat carrier with me, I borrowed my brothers small black cage to be able to bring the kitten home with me which he has used for his cat many times before so I didnt think it was a problem but Pat was so displeased and judgemental that this is what I was going to transport my pet in that she told me she wanted me to borrow one of their cat carriers to bring my cat home and then turn around and bring it back, even after I offered to just buy one of their adoption boxes.I did not enjoy this part of the adoption. I almost felt like I shouldnt have been adopting. I had my whole lengthy application approved, they called my vet, I provided receipts from getting my current cat neutered, I provided an ESA letter. I paid $150!! I wouldnt go through all of these steps if this wasnt a cat that I was going to love and take great care of.I want to say I appreciate what Micheles rescue does, I am so glad I got to adopt from there. Communication was great at first, I dont even mind the length of the application but because of this one individual im not sure if I would adopt from there again in the future.
Dyes Dcy: Very Unprofessional.
Kristin Dennison: Do not under any circumstances give money to this rescue! The people running this are horrible. They are not doing what's best for the animals. They are playing God. Go elsewhere to adopt pets and donate money! They are crazy. We do take our cat to the vet. Our 16.5 year old dog who recently passed was vaccinated regularly. We did not threaten any staff members. Holy cow you're crazy!
Maureen Rice: Thank you Michele’s Rescue for bringing an amazing rescue puppy into my life. He’s a gem and their adoption process went very smooth.
