Eric Li: Maybe it's because I went there at 8:30pm (close to closing time), the shelves were partially empty. That said, the ladies working there are super friendly and attentive. I asked for a piece of 8ft long black fabric and I got in and out within 5 minutes. I mean hey, dropping by a store late has its own perks I guess.

Marcus Dekker: If you wanna wander around for hours while all the employees are too busy to help you you should come here. Zoey was so very helpful to point to a section of 200 fabrics and say it's over there and not actually show us where the product we needed was. Very disappointed I'd rather go to fields fabric.
Elisa: First time in this location, TONS of fabrics and crafting papers and good signage throughout the store. Employees who were working through our the store were not very kind but the tall skinny brunette working the counter was very sweet. DO NOT use the bathrooms here!!!!! I could not believe how dirty the bathroom was! I can certainly understand being busy and short staffed but there was dark thick dust on the toilet seat covers container, the stall doors, dirt all over the floors and walls. I would have felt more comfortable in a gas station bathroom in all honesty! Besides that if you need fabric and no potty breaks this is your place!
Shari Gardner: JoAnn's has some of the greatest sale prices. I love to make things for people and surprise them out of the blue. I do not make much money and the sales make that possible. Thank you!
Samantha Hendrian: Love Joann's. But the last handful of time I've been to this particular location sale signage has been a mess. I frequently plan my purchases around what I can use coupons on, and it's frustrating to find an item that doesn't appear to be on sale only to get to the register to find out that it IS and I can't use the coupon on it.

Sara S.: Recently went here for the first time. They have a lot of craft stuff you can’t find at Joann’s or Michael’s, but the selection is limited & I believe some things are overpriced. But they do have some decent deals as well. Mostly a lot of scrapbook stuff. Was disappointed that I couldn’t use a gift certificate & debit card at the same time. My order was more than my gift certificate covered and they made me pay all of it on my debit card. I’ll probably come back just to use the certificate but I don’t think I’ll be coming back very often after that.

Marianna Love: The Craft Outlet had limited selection of stencils and other art supplies. I thought this place would be huge but it's not. There are more craft varieties available at hobby lobby. I love supporting local businesses, but even the vibe was off. I walked in and smiled, yet no one looked up to welcome me. I walked around for a while and still, no one offered any type of assistance. I was let down by my experience here at the Craft Outlet on Buchanan.

Gabrielle Tremblay-Sullivan: Love Knitwell and Betty the instructor! I've never been able to learn crochet despite trying my hardest in the past, and she's a (very!) patient, kind teacher who made sure I understood what I was learning. Crochet is now one of my favorite ways to de-stress, and I even managed to make scarves for all my friends and family at Christmas! (She also set up a super cute picnic table spread for our private class on a beautiful day in Riverside Park, which was an unexpectedly wonderful personal touch.)
Katherine Tullmann: I met Betty about a year ago. She offered a pop-up knitting class for her Grand Rapids Meet Up group. I’d been trying to teach myself to knit via YouTube videos and it wasn’t going well! Betty is incredibly friendly and infinitely patient. She is so encouraging and put up with all my mini knitting “tantrums” :) Importantly, I left our sessions with confidence that I could duplicate my new skills at home.I didn’t specifically learn from Betty to knit for health issues, but I do think that her classes would be great for that. She creates a warm and congenial enviornment in her knitting sessions and teaches skills that would be very helpful for coping with anxiety. I highly recommend any class or group withBetty if you’re interested in learning a new, useful, relaxing skill or if you just want some friendly company while you knit!
