But they do have some decent deals as well. Mostly a lot of scrapbook stuff. Was disappointed that I couldn’t use a gift certificate & debit card at the same time. My order was more than my gift certificate covered and they made me pay all of it on my debit card. I’ll probably come back just to use the certificate but I don’t think I’ll be coming back very often after that.

I love supporting local businesses, but even the vibe was off. I walked in and smiled, yet no one looked up to welcome me. I walked around for a while and still, no one offered any type of assistance. I was let down by my experience here at the Craft Outlet on Buchanan.

Elisa: First time in this location, TONS of fabrics and crafting papers and good signage throughout the store. Employees who were working through our the store were not very kind but the tall skinny brunette working the counter was very sweet. DO NOT use the bathrooms here!!!!! I could not believe how dirty the bathroom was! I can certainly understand being busy and short staffed but there was dark thick dust on the toilet seat covers container, the stall doors, dirt all over the floors and walls. I would have felt more comfortable in a gas station bathroom in all honesty! Besides that if you need fabric and no potty breaks this is your place!

I frequently plan my purchases around what I can use coupons on, and it's frustrating to find an item that doesn't appear to be on sale only to get to the register to find out that it IS and I can't use the coupon on it.

Jeffry Chamberlain: I own a small leather shop near Cadillac Michigan , roughly two hours North of the store . I've made numerous trips down there as well as called and ordered and had material shipped to my shop at least 30 times .I've probably ran close to $10,000 through the store most of the time it's went off with out a hitch but a couple of times the employees have dropped the ball and not shipped out the order for as much as two days , I can no longer do business that way at the end of the day time is money it has become obvious to me that the grand rapids store doesn't care if they waste my time or if I spend my money there or elsewhere . I'll give you 2 stars because I've had several good experiences but the bad experiences are forcing me to look at other suppliers

Bill Kimball: I have not had a better customer service experience ANYWHERE. I walked in curious about fixing a leather item I own, and walked out with a new hobby. The talented and caring staff talked with me for over two hours about the process of how my item was built, and how I could repair it, and even build one myself. And I did.

Their internal policy apparently requires staff to call instead of responding to emails, which feels very much like they don't want a record of a conversation.I've honestly not had any good experiences with anyone I've interacted with at this company, which is funny considering their supposed stance on kindness. It seems like they have an awful internal culture based on both my experience as well as the other reviews here - all the five star reviews seem to be from either prospective or current employees, all the one star reviews from actual customers.While I'm annoyed my account was closed without my consent, I think it is ultimately a better experience for me in the long term instead of fighting with a company trying to keep its sales tactics in the 1980s. I'm glad I came to the reviews and see that it's not just a "me" issue, and happy to see the suggestions for competitors who aren't such a misery to work eith.

Lockdown 155: As others have mentioned after a time of either little or no business through a lockdown they now closed my account and they feel I am not worth their time. I had an account for over 10 years and was a very good customer. Very disappointing. Instead of a hand up you get a kick in the face. Thanks for nothing.

Sahar Wahbeh: My experience with Notions Marketing ‘Sales Support’ team has been the WORST customer service I have ever received. Unprofessional. Unresponsive. Disrespectful.Notions incorrectly addressed my order and shipped it out to another country – where it is undeliverable. Accidents happen. People make mistakes but the mark of one’s character is in how they make things right afterward. In this case, the Sales Support team refused to update me on the status of my order, refused to make any attempt to fix the situation, and refused to take any tangible accountability for their mistake.I have reached out to the team many times both by email and by phone trying to figure out what is going on with my order and why no one is willing to help me. I have been shouted out by Lewis Kaplan, told ‘I don’t want to speak to you’, been referred to by someone else’s name, been ‘accused’ of typing emails on a phone (which I didn’t do but also didn’t know was a crime) and flat out ignored both by him and by his superior Tessa Engstrom.The whole situation is so unbelievable I can’t help but feel like something more devious may be going on here – it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a brown-skinned woman, with a foreign name, has her grievances ignored.I am a small business that can’t afford to pay for Notions Sales Support team’s mistakes and it is unfair to ask me to. Beware of this business.
