They keep your information confidential ex (secrets or issues you have, state id birth certificate) and any thing else stored and put away. Very safe feeling environment and plenty of smiling faces. Grand Rapids Pride Center: what do users think?
Rainy: Such a kind atmosphere, and everyone who works/volunteers there are truly wonderful. I love the youth group they do (every Monday) it really makes you feel at home.
Alexandria Wiley: They helped me with all my questions. I felt very welcomed and safe. And I got some amazing buttons, along with 2 more flags ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Maria Sauter: Saddens me! 😭😭😭😭 😢
Shannon Meyer: Just love what they do for the community.
Jacklyn Smith: My group has meetings here. Was closed for covid restrictions but has since reopened.
Lynn Formigoni: Advocacy and community for the local LGBTQIA+ community
LostChild777: meh
Jordan Brinker: I made a appointment with Grand Rapids pride center today, I called and just explained where I was at in trying to be a better ally to the LGBTQ community and my lack of education about trans rights and safety, Josh immediately met me with warmth and offered to connect me with someone who could best explain and answer. He also met me with a promise that when someone wants to be educated and receptive most questions won’t go unanswered. The boy on the phone also offered to be on the zoom he explained he knew that asking about a community when you don’t know where to start could be confusing and wanted to offer support! It was a overall great first step and cannot wait to become a better Supporter of the community around me
Cornell Halquist: Lovely people ❤
OneBloodTwo “Braf” _: 😳
Jare Bear (Jarrod Schaffer): Wonderful place!I was a tad bit nervous to come here at first, especially not being too publicly involved outside of PRIDE, but it felt very welcomed and inviting!Full of useful information for any age in the LGBTQIA+ Community! The Men's Thursday Night group, helps add a sense of community and is quite useful to me in meeting other people in my community, to talk about important topics as well as making a feel of "togetherness" in meeting others like myself!Thank You!
Yvonne Frary: OMG THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. FOR LGBT YOUTH THE YOUTH GROUP IS GOOD
Jaime Ramsey: It was fabulous! I went to an open Own Your Gender meeting with two of my partners and I'm really glad to have met and made connections at the meetings
Kaine st.amour: This place has saved my life
Sean Prevost: Feels like home love it there
Brian F Fry: Right in the heart of Grand Rapids Easttown district. A super staff , well trained and educated.Great resource center for gay/ledbian, and trans-sexual information, local help center and counseling.
Timothy Guilfoyle: Very helpful with your questions.
Jeff Moore: It's always nice to go to a place where I feel comfortable.

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids: what do users think?
William Bennett: They try to do everything without doing any one thing well.
Dohey Joenuts: My six year old boy and I love playing racquetball, and we’ve tried multiple times to play at this YMCA after school. I stopped by earlier in the day to sign up for a court, 4 o’clock is the only time we can really play because he’s a child and can’t stay up late after school. When we showed up for our court, five minutes in a league player came and tried to kick us out. I told him we had signed up, he came back five minutes later with the staff and told us we had to stop. They let us play on the squash court, but it was pretty frustrating. Now I come to sign up again, and they say , the leagues, get all the courts at 4 o’clock for the rest of the day. Now I have to disappoint my son, due to changing standards, and miscommunication. The staff today was not very enthusiastic about trying to figure it out, or help us out at all either. I was assured after the first incident that leagues wouldn’t start till later, so that kids would get a chance to play.
Becky G: Cons: no towels, closed rock climbing wall, closed waterslides, app they use isn't available, found 3 large floating clumps of curly hair swirling around in the hot tubPros: 2 pools so kids don't get in the way of laps, good parking options, kids have own locker rooms (although one mom brought her son into womens), plenty of room to change, swimsuit dryer, they have a variety of workout accessories you can borrow
Ed Bowen: Staff is phenomenal especially front desk group. Very nice large facility. Walking and running track has decent views on all four sides. Tons of equipment and free weights. Cardio stuff too. Big lockers with shelves in men's locker room. Locker room has decent space between rows and no terminal rows.
Natalie Killingstad: Love the facility, but not enough parking. Without a parking attendant they can’t control the giant trucks that park in the lot, take up 2 spaces and stick out into the lanes waiting to be grazed by passing cars. The front desk says nothing they can do. Apparently they aren’t concerned with the safety of their members.
Leandro Binuya: Dirty lockers, filthy whirlpool (watch out for burning smell of chlorine and floating brown filth in the water), not very friendly staff, overcrowded, and overpriced (for the condition of the facility). I do NOT recommend. Planet fitness is cheap and doesn’t have all the amenities but at least they are very clean!
Joe Brinkman: Men’s steam room is so dialled down it’s a wet drip rooom ooollll ooooo
John Donaldson: Great gym good views while you exercise way more options than planet fitness and a real judgement free atmosphere best gym in the city down at the best gym enjoying the new equipment real nice happy Thanksgiving 💯💫💚🐍⛎👑
James w. Lanning: Excellent gym for a variety of people, whether you are into freeweights, group fitness, swimming, or if you have kids. I work out in the early morning. Parking is plenty, not too busy on the free weight floor, and I can do any workout routine I can think of. My only complaint is the dumbbells. 45% of the dumbbells are over 60lbs and virtually never get touched, while the dumbbells in the 20-45lb range are fought over like candies from a piñata. That setup could benefit from a data-oriented redesign. Men's locker room is a bit outdated but functional. There is no towel service. This gym pops off at about 5-5:30, if you work out during that time it will be nearly impossible to find a parking spot, though you could find street parking if you are still down for braving the herd of bros fighting over the dumbbells.
Daniel Crawford: Took my wife and two young kids to the aquatic center because of the water slide. They said they’d open it at 7. Then 7 comes around. They said they didn’t have enough lifeguards. Mind you they had at least 3 and I believe I saw a 4th. And there was no reason for the lap pool to be open. Multiple disappointed kids. Seems like the high school lifeguards didn’t feel like running the slide.
Robert Kennedy: Very inconsistent & inconvenient operating hours. No Covid anymore get it together & update your web page when you decide to close early.
minzz: It's a great place to workout, play basketball, swim, volleyball, and lots more
James Allen: GREAT people, great atmosphere.
David Brown: YMCA is not what is used to be... they reduced childcare significantly, reduced their facility cleaning (the place is so dirty) and they took away the towels! All while raising prices!Try going to the pool as a family with kids... bringing home a bag full of wet towels is miserable. They say this is due to to COVID... yet I have not seen a single employee wear a mask in months.
Selah Hadley: it’s good here but the rowing machines absolutely suck. i’m a rower and i really need a place to stay in shape and a rowing machine is the best thing to do but none of them turn on so i can’t track any information/speed while i’m rowing. really hope you guys can fix this, im begging you lol 😔
Sarah Harrison: As a family with 3 small children we joined mostly for the shallow splash pad and waterslide. After joining we found out the waterslide has been permanently closed for years. There is no longer towel service either. Huge pain for big families with small kids. We were so disappointed. Also the vending machines only take cash. Other YMCAs take cards too. Looks like if you join for exercise classes its great. A whole 2nd floor of them. And the gym is ok.
None Sampson-Lyke: I simply love this place in downtown Grand rapids. I could swim or ride their bikes all day long 24 today 7 days a week. I'm not embarrassed to say that I'm a larger person but I did not feel down upon which is unusual considering most people do that. Anyway I love swimming and like I said and except for the price of it I would be a member for life. But I'm a disabled social security recipient and I can't afford what they charge a month even at a discount I think their lowest price is $52 a month. At any rate if you can afford it go and have a good time swim all you want so you can't swim anymore I love it
Tommy Hilfiger: Diverse range equipment nice atmosphere
Shelby Denhof: I've been going to this gym for three years. It's a big space with all the machines and equipment one may need. I've always felt comfortable there as a woman exercising solo.
greg clay: New to the area , 1st impressions nice clean fit gym, a temple to the fit!
Le Vo: DONT COME HERE! The heat in the building is crazy. I get it, it’s winter but compared to the other locations this downtown one feels like a sauna everywhere. You will be sweating like a pig. 5 to 20 lbs dumbbells are very old and the accessories for cable machines are old as well.
