Melissa Green: When my sister and I went into the AT&T store on 3201 E Grand River to get our parents new cellphones, we had a great experience. While it took longer than any of us had anticipated, the staff at thattime gave us incredible customer service. Our experience in going into the store on Tuesday, January 24th was markedly different. The current staff at the location are beyond terrible. They are rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, especially to elderly customers.I first went into the store because my 80 year old father’s cell phone died. I was waited on by Mohamed M. I wish I could use the words that I really want to use to describe what a horrible person he was to deal with. He was not helpful in helping us understand what the options would be if it was a battery issue or what to do if we wanted to get a new phone. I literally had to walk him through the different scenarios because he gave ZERO help. Ultimately, since my father only owed on more payment on the old phone, we opted to pay it off and upgrade. When it came to activating the new phone, Mohamed M provided ZERO help. Gave no instructions and just told me that if I logged onto his Google account, he would be able to transfer his contacts. So we left. When I got home and finally got into this Google account, that did not work to transfer the contacts. So then my sister went back to the store to assist my father. She interacted with whomever was Mohamed M‘s female colleague (did not get her name) who was equally as terrible and unhelpful. And then they had the utter audacity to say that if we returned the phone that they did not help us activate, it would be a $55 restock fee. ABSOLUTELY NOT!! My father had words with them and then my sister and father went next door to Batteries Plus where they got great service. If I could give them zero stars I would. But since I can’t, I will just make sure to NEVER use that location again.
Alysia Green: This store has terrible people working at it who are completely unhelpful and willing to take advantage of an elderly customer. My elderly father went in because his cell phone died. They talked him into upgrading to a new phone (he was due) however his contacts never synced to the email associated with his account so we were unable to transfer them. When I went back with him to get assistance Mohamed M (who had sold him the phone) and his female colleague (unfortunately did not get her name) told us there was nothing they could do about it. They recommended we go to Best Buy and get a new battery for his old phone and then manually enter his contact list into his new phone. Why would I go to Best Buy when you sold my father the phone??? We were given no other options, recommendations or suggestions. Neither of them even tried to help us sync from his email or anything. Then had the audacity to say they would charge a $60 restocking fee if we tried to return it. Which was never explained to my father when he purchased it and is not indicated anywhere on the invoice or receipt he was provided. Very happy to take my fathers money but flippant when he required assistance. We have had nothing but problems with this store including with this upgrade. Thankfully we were assisted down the street by the friendly staff at Batteries Plus. I wish I could leave a zero rating. The treatment at this store was rude and dismissive and we will never use them again.

Connie S: I ordered a new $1,000+ phone from this store. When it arrived I took it to the AT&T store in Saint Johns to have the information on my old phone transferred to the new and the new one activated. I was told that the Saint Johns store could not help me because I didn’t order the phone through them. Neither did my nephew but you helped him no problem two days earlier! I went to this store near Frandor and they told me they would only activate the new phone but would not transfer the information from my old to my new phone. Really? You just did it two weeks ago for my brother. This store near Frandor told me I had to go to the Apple Store for help. Both of these stores have terrible, horrible customer service. For God’s sake do your fricken job! And if you aren’t going to provide customer service then get the hell out of that position and let someone have the job that will provide great customer service instead of standing around doing nothing!

Wai Fung Lam: They don’t know what they are doing. We asked to get a simple cellphone plan; but we were enrolled in a data plan that does not include calling. They said they couldn’t change it and asked us to drive 40 minutes to a corporate store in Jackson to make the change. Well, the address they provided was wrong, of course. When we got to the right store, people there said they couldn’t change it either and asked who told us to go there!!! Interestingly we were told that this East Lansing store is notorious; it is as if it was our bad luck that created the mess. How can AT&T allow such a lousy authorised dealer to continue?

This was a huge process and took 2 visits, but this was due to some significant obstacles that came up. Allysha (@ the Lansing, MI store on 3201 E Grand River, STE C) was amazing! She was patient, personable, and above all else, problem solved in a way we could get the best deal for our family for our needs.

He even was able to help reduce our monthly premiums with was something I didn’t even come for I would recommend this store to anyone in the US!

He also assisted us on exchanging the headphones that I did get because one of them was not working. He stayed past closing time. Awesome customer service!
Sheri Clarke: The store was empty when we arrived within the last hour of the day. Alex and Michael assisted us with two phone upgrades and a major change in our plan. They were very helpful in giving me a quote for all the items and obtaining a discount through AARP. When we mentioned that we had a low tire notice, Michael went above and beyond by offering us the use of his personal tire pump, which was in his car. He then pumped up our tire for us. Both staff members were exceptional regarding customer service and we will definitely be back to this location.
Avery L: This location is terrible! The female employee didn't greet us with her name and refused to assist us. She is so terrified of a potential bad review or survey that she refused to help us with a warranty claim and wanted to make it an insurance claim on a phone that is less than 3 months old so she can outsource it. Gave us a website and when we called her out on it she said there was nothing she could do for warranty or insurance. We even tried to give the website a chance and it literally referred us to the at&t store. Definitely calling corporate to complain

Key Israel: Update…I received a call from Chris to address the concerns I expressed in my review. Chris did an excellent job addressing my concerns. He explain why some of the things I mentioned in my review occurred such as fraud with IPhone 13 Max pros and offered to look into the 30% discount I found online. Excellent customer service and one of the few companies that actually read the reviews and follow up with their customers. Thank you Chris for the reach out.I came to the store to upgrade my phone and that went fine. While I was there, I was given an offer to purchase 3 items get one free. It turns out that there was a better deal available online and I could get 30% off if I bought 3 items. I paid $111.30 even with the free item but if I was given then 30% off, I would have only paid $92.75. That is a $18.55 difference and I would have preferred the 30% off. Sale reps should always search and offer customers the best deal if they want to keep them coming back as a customer. I will probably only shop online from now on. The only reason I went to the store was because my order was canceled online and I was told I had to come into the store to verify my identity which I thought was inconvenient as well. I never had to upgrade at a store when I had Xfinity.
Sharon: Nice when I was buying a phone but after I got my phone they would not give me credit for my phone that I was turning in. It was new. They knew perfectly well what phone I was turning in and proceeded to continue to tell me that I would get credit for it when I bought the S20 What a nice way to scam people in to buy phones and jacking up the prices of their purchase.Firing a girl for doing what her manager told her to do. That's pretty lame. Totally dissatisfied the reply I got was "oh well"😡" Really??

Frank Zamarripa: Came in to upgrade my phone. The temp worker there literally sold me the phone. No set, very little help. About a week later, my new phone gets it's first over the air update. Completely bricks the phone. Not able to get past the download screen no matter how many times I reboot. I take the phone back to the store. I am with in the return period. He says he does not have any s23 ultras ( they have them on the store's website) and can do nothing for me. Literally refers me to UbreakIfix store down the road.If support means anything to you, stay away from this store

I went there couple weeks ago to buy a charger for my kids iPads, I told the guy there the brand and make yet he sold me the wrong chargers.I went back to exchange and the rude little Hispanic girl was yelling at me saying that she doesn't make the rules and actually took my charges and wanted to keep them.They're rude and have poor customer service and now I'm out of $89 and didn't get the charger that I wanted. Black people please stay away from that store they're rude and they'll essentially steal your money and rude customer service.

I’m not sure if it’s common practice to have one employee working at opening on a Saturday, but more people could have been helped and wait times may have been better with two.

I normally don't like going to AT&T stores because salesy people are off-putting to me. Bruce was knowledgeable, fun to chat with, gave me recommendations, and helped me with everything I needed. I appreciate it when people in stores aren't too pushy and let me make my own decisions. I also enjoy my new phone and the accessories that came with it.

Hamed Bolandi: I went to this store to get a new iPhone 12. I didn’t intend to trade in my old iPhone 7 but since they told me you will get $350 credit for trade in, I decided to do it. A month later after I received my new bill I noticed that I am not eligible for trade in since I was not in unlimited plan. I went to the store and told them, you did not inform me that I should have been in unlimited plan.First, manager did not take the responsibility! After I insisted, the manager called AT&T and told me I enrolled you in an old unlimited plan which will not increase your bill and also will get your $350 credit. After I received new bill, the bill was doubled! I noticed that the manager lied to me about enrolling in old unlimited plan since he just wanted me to leave the store. As a result I trade in my iPhone 7 for free and pay about $100 more for unwanted unlimited plan. When I get back to store they do not take any responsibility. I paid off my new iPhone and moved to another carrier. Take care when you are dealing with this store.

We opened a new phone account but we did not get it attached to a cell phone then. Then we went back to the store and try to get connected to the new cell phone. He first did know how to do it, and then after trying and he started to brag about the importance of having in-person help. He then found he was not able to help, then referred us to the customer service over the phone.

Jill Schaberg: Sierra helped me navigate a frustrating phone voicemail fix with the on line technical support, with whom I had been on the phone for 1-1/2 hours the day before with worse results. She patiently made the call to tech support from the store and together helped me communicate and resolve the problem through the on line tech. She was lovely and patient and helpful, snd I was extremely impressed snd appreciative.
Bill Hall: Not a good experience at all. Still having trouble with the phone that we purchased and was told that I had to call for support. New phone does not get data and was told by rep that they couldn't help because it was on wifi at the store. Apparently the rep doesn't know how to turn off the wifi. I'll go somewhere else next time.

Ken Levine: I went to the Okemos AT&T store today to pick up my new phone. I worked with Savitra both when I ordered the phone and again today. She is amazing. She was able to help me and also take care of watching the door and making sure that the store was clean and sanitized. Her customer service skills are terrific – for example, she remembered my name when I arrived today. Also, she knows her products and represents AT&T very well.

Michelle Sturgeon: Yesterday my son and I went to upgrade our phones. I recently discovered my place of employment had a discount program with AT&T. Our first stop was AT& T store by Frandor. The gentleman was rude and clearly not interested in helping us. He told us there were no upgrade promotions on our phones. Since we have seen all the promotions online and in our email and text messages we knew he wasn’t correct. He was not even willing to look at my employee discount. We left disappointed because we had always had great service there. Clearly this guy didn’t think we were worth his time. Our next stop was AT& T in okemos. Sarita assisted us and she was wonderful!!! We left with a new plan and 2 new phones were ordered!! What a difference driving 15 min in the other direction made!!!

Abby Pardick: The fact I have to leave one star is upsetting. I went in to add my first time phone user daughter to my existing plan and it took 45 minutes for him to even begin the process of asking what phone we wanted to add. Not to mention, when we arrived, the door was locked and when we were checking the hours on the outer door, he frantically opened the store door and just stated “I was in the bathroom!”, which was obvious by his pant zipper being unzipped during the entirety of our horrific interaction. He fell asleep at one point while staring at the tablet for a good 5 minutes, and when I questioned him, his response was that he was ensuring that he understood the error code that was given to him. There were no floor models of any of the Apple devices which made it hard to determine what we wanted. He stated that he didn’t know the current inventory of the Apple Products and when he went to the back to check, he said all of the boxes had been opened, at which point I told him I was not going to purchase a phone that wasn’t in its original packaging and that I would be going to another store. The guy wasn’t even in an ATT shirt, which is usually required in their workplace. I went to the store on Grand River and was was in and out with a phone in under 10 minutes.

G: Poorly managed sleeper store. The store is locked during normal business hours. That way the lone employee who works there isn’t caught in the act of napping. The lone employee couldn’t answer a voicemail question. Sad but true.
Katie A: My first experience here was fine, but my phone wasn't working correctly and it had to be replaced so I came in again. The second time I walked in the guy working there was vaping inside the store to the point where walking in it looked smokey. I'm allergic to nicotine so I immediately had to leave. I'll never be back and I'm very dissatisfied.
Krystal Coleman: Really helpful staff there was only one person in the store so we did have to wait a bit to be helped. They had the phones we wanted even with the chip shortage. The big down fall is that there is way more iphone items than other types of phones. That is only a bad thing because I am not an iPhone person. If you prefer iPhone they have a lot to offer for cases and accessories.

Old fashioned service meaning super polite, down to earth , no hard sell, you could tell right away just very polite and knowledgeable and caring. He spent lots of time explaining different options for our new phone plan and answered all questions completely. Did not feel rushed at all. When UPS failed to deliver my new phone to the store, Mike made sure that a new one shipped out the next day.
