Ryan D (Boys of Summer): First time here after hearing nothing but good things. Had a meat plate with brisket, chicken, mac and fries. The BBQ chicken was honestly the best chicken I have ever had. The Cornbread, Mac and Fries were all amazing and top notch. The brisket was ok. It was not bad by any means but lacked flavor as if no rub was put on it. Ill admit as a former Texan I have high standards for BBQ but the brisket was lacking. Don't get me wrong it was cooked perfectly just needs more rub. This was the best BBQ in Lansing by a long shot,
James Rozell: Highly recommend BBQ, may be one of Lansings favorite carnivore kitchens if not the famous Guy's. Plenty of BBQ dish presentations that you can flavor to your taste many ways at your table. Lighting is dim and cozy for an old rock n roll saloon feel in their dining area. I thought the meat mountain would have more meat but it was more of a pie tin loaded with mashed potatoes and some brisket mixed in and topped with shredded cheese, corn and bacon bits.Parking: Parking lot by the river and arcade bar has to be paid for hourly with a smartphone app.

Richard Knox: So tonight my wife and I attempted to order some food from here. Sadly they were sold out, unfortunately these things happen. The reason why I am leaving a one star review is because we drove from Battle Creek to Lansing specifically for dinner and tried calling several times. No one answered the phone, and when we walked in we were greeted by three girls standing at the front counter laughing saying they were sold out. No apology, no nothing, just laughed and turned us away. The least they could’ve done is answered the phone to advise that they were sold out. This is extremely poor customer service and will make me rethink the next time we come to Lansing for dinner.

Mike Herritt: I've been a fan of Saddleback for years when they first opened in REO town. Fun fact my buddy and I were the first people ever to order a whole tin of the corncake. Best decision ever!Back to what brought me here. I ordered a catering order for my company safety meeting for Tuesday 5/23/23. The staff at the REO town location was very helpful with fulfilling my order. I asked for a noon delivery and they were right on time. The 2 girls that delivered and setup our order were very professional and made sure to cater to us in anyway we needed.If Matt or Travis see this I just want to say I appreciate what you do for the local community and that's why choosing Saddleback for my company's lunch was an easy choice. Hannah C (Palindrome3D): We've failed a few times to get food from here, either not open, online ordering for pick up not an option, online ordering for delivery was WAY too expensive, going up there in person and learning we should have ordered in advance. (45 minute wait for pho and 1 banh mi ) I feel bad for them, the two times i've been in the store they've seemed understaffed. I did finally get my Bahn Mi's. The chicken was honestly boring, the brisket was smoked deliciously. The Bahn Mi as a whole tasted mostly of Cilantro since it had whole thick stems of it and the smokeyness of the Smoked meat. It had the carrots, cilantro and jalapeno but I dont recall any cucumber, or any Pate. I dont know what the sauce is that was there . It kind of was like basic yum yum sauce? It was not very flavorful from other examples of the same menu item. Fiance did not like the rustic bread, it hurt his mouth to eat, I dont mind hurting my mouth on good carbs, but it was extremely crumb/flaky and it got everywhere. So be warned - dont eat this in the car :D

Shane Parwey: I was driving down the street when I decided to pull in and give this place a try, I don’t normally leave reviews as I am very busy. But this place is absolutely EXCELLENT! I had the rib tips and they’re hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The coleslaw and potato salad were great as well! 10/10 recommend.

M Nedloc: Dude, have you been here? I mean if you like Vietnamese food and good old fashioned BBQ, this might be the place for you. I want to try more of the menu here, I honestly do, but I am certainly stuck on the brisket. The brisket plate and or the brisket banh mi. Both great and I wish they never ended in servings like in Harry Potter. I have also tried this pho, which is good. Vietnamese coffee, I don’t know if they still make it the same way, but I did enjoy that tiny pinch of condensed milk at the end. They also offer different dessert pastries, such as pie or cake, so you can get appetizers, a meal, and dessert. This restaurant is a bit on the small side there is minimal parking so be aware. I come around here for worked once or twice a year and I get it every single time. Maybe it isn’t and a little corny, but I always use to pass this little restaurant and one day 4 years ago I was looking at Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives in Lansing and sure enough Capital City BBQ was on the list. And I am so glad I gave it a go… I’m kind of craving a plate now.

We tried the brisket, pork, beans and 5 cheese mac.. the brisket tasted like butter, the pork didn't have a flavor, the beans were out of a can and the 5 cheese Mac tastes like cardboard. I wouldn't suggest this place. There are other places out there with better for in my opinion. What a disappointment.
Susy Gonzalez: The chicken was so dry you can tell it was reheated from the previous night. The Mac and cheese was so salty I felt my blood pressure go up! The potato salad you can tell was store bought. My coworkers had the ribs and they said the ribs were not fully cooked.

Melissa Witte: If you enjoy main-lining lighter fluid and re- heated bbq, then this is your place. I will say their beans and potato salad weren't bad. However, I took two bites of the brisket and knew I was DONE. Good brisket should look like meat lace, this took more than the recommended number of chews. I'm sorry I really tried to like it. 🤷🏽♀️

Chris G: I ordered a half rack, some rib tips, beans, and cole slaw. First my he said there was no cole slaw and he replaced it with potato salad which I didn't get and I paid for it. Second I took a big ol bite and half rack ribs were still pink, looked at rib tips and those also were pink inside, not healthy to eat raw pork. Third the same first big bite I found a big ol chunk of lint in my half rack ribs. Completely disgusted. Order came to $32 gave him $36. Anyways $32 in food wasted. Not happy about it. Off of a tip from Facebook, I called to see if he was open today (he made an exception for me and I visited right away), Welcomed me into his establishment, and gave me samples of his BBQ chicken (boneless smoked Chicken Thighs with the skin and coated in his unique homemade 40+ flavourful spice combo). O.M.G. - so Smoky, so tender, and Full of Flavour. Very LEGIT BBQ Chicken... Definitely NOTHING like this Chicago-Style 'Que in the Lansing area... And I am totally OK with this. I split the Sampler Platter with my husband, and opted for more BBQ chicken and Pulled pork.Definitely make it a point to visit D's & C's on their "Super Sundays", when they have Smoked Snow Crab. WOW - these Clusters are simply PHENOMENAL!This 'Que really is devine! Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.
GenericMe Fiftysix: Barbecue from here is consistently delicious! I pick up a slab of ribs virtually every other month. The owner is personable, gregarious and a barbecue master. You won't be disappointed.

Sara Mo: Great BBQ! Best crab I have ever had, hands down. The brisket was also given two thumbs up and all of the sides were very good as well. The place has a nice big sign that is easy to spot - that is if the smoke and aroma don't tip you off first. It is clean and bright inside and they also have picnic tables placed out front. Dennis and the other gentleman were very kind and attentive and made the experience even better. Looking forward to trying the ribs and smoked mac!
