Nick: I pulled up at 6:10 PM, craving some steak for dinner, and was looking at the hours from my truck in the parking lot. Was bummed to see place closed at 6:00 PM. Hours noted for future reference and about to drive off when out comes a man from the store. He waived me in and stated "we cannot deprive you of your dinner, come on in." They were vehemently cleaning and closing the store. The gentleman then asked what I wanted and brought out a cart of beautiful steakes from the back cooler for me to choose from. Staff was very friendly and let me purchase all the goods I planned to go in for. You do not see this type of customer service in most retail places these days, hence my inclination to write this review. The steak quality was excellent as well, which adds to my desire to let this establishment be known. I have never gotten any products from this store that I have not regretted purchasing. Their homemade salsa is awesome too. Thanks again Merts.

Jelly Girl: My first time checking out the store was when I was looking for scallops to make for dinner on New Year’s Eve. The staff there was extremely helpful and could tell I was looking for some thing so they directed me towards the dry scallops which by the way are not easy to find in Michigan. They were rather busy that day, so without their help I could have easily spent an exceptional amount of time trying to find what I needed. However their approach to customer service made my shopping experience albeit short lived, a great one. They have an amazing selection of meats , and items for your cooking needs. I will definitely be returning to see what else they have to offer.

This is one of the best meat markets I've seen in the area and the prices beat them all too! There's tons of jerky and wine as well. Their seafood section was outstanding! They had grouper and gator! Growing up in Florida I love seeing that here in Michigan. There are lobster tails, frog legs, and tons of fish from all over.I got a big package of pre cooked country BBQ ribs for only $3! I couldn't believe it! These prices are amazing! I'm mad I didn't buy more as I live an hour away but I will be back next week for sure!I can't wait to try the pinwheel steaks I bought and the smoked pork chops. Those are soo thick and only $5 for a huge slice! I got enough meat to last my fiance and I 5 days and only spent $45 and I bought sides as well.What really surprised me was the pasta salads. The shrimp pasta was perfect! Just enough kick to it and tons of shrimp. Flawless! The smoked chicken salad was delicious! Each piece of chicken was coated in spices. I can't get over the prices. That shrimp salad would easily have been $10 anywhere else and it was only $2.50. I wish there were more pasta salads, especially with summer coming. I'd buy every one! I bet if this place made italian pasta salad with those huge chunks of salami, pepperoni, and mozzarella it would top every deli in the area. I have no doubt of that.I am very happy I finally made myself stop but I wish I came sooner. Also the staff are so sweet! They have a chip that will give me a dollar off next time I come back! That was adorable!

Team Thunder: What in the world is going on with you guys? For the past year or so, the bacon has been steadily getting worse and worse. I used to RAVE about the bacon. Now it is so hit or miss that the last 4 times we have bought your bacon, we couldn't even finish the package.It doesn't even smell like bacon most of the time.I'm at the point of just finding a new meat market.(Edited after reply: I honestly have given you guys multiple chances. This is not the first time I have brought up quality issues with the bacon to management. Last time the bacon smelled like fish while it was cooking. It was totally inedible.So, figure out your issues with the bacon and your smokehouse. I have consulted with others in the area, and multiple people have told me they avoid your bacon these days as well.When you figure out what has changed in the past few years, let us all know. I will definitely give you another shot once the issues are corrected.)

I don't think we will ever stop coming here. The different flavors of bacon are my favorite, we try something different everytime we come here.

William Johnson: Disappointed with the selection of steak for a meat market. Went in asking for outside skirt and they weren’t able to provide it fresh. The nice gentleman then pointed me to the freezer section where they only had the deceptively undesirable inside skirt(wide portion- tough and less flavorful). Makes me wonder what they are doing with their outside skirt.
