Heather P: Love this place from the owners to the instructors
Stacey Camp: My 13 year old daughter loves it here! She is guitarist and has been playing/taking lessons for 9 years. When the studio opened, we thought it'd be a great place for her to grow her knowledge of music. She did a songwriting summer camp and really loved it. Since then, her interest in music has expanded exponentially. She takes guitar and drum lessons here, and also takes performance band (which is seriously the coolest concept ever).I attribute her passion to the warm, welcoming, and safe environment the owners and teachers have cultivated here. The teachers provide nearly instant feedback when a lesson is finished. The end of the term performances are so fun - it is so amazing to watch the kids learn how to perform fun songs for an audience! If your kiddo is interested in music, this is the place to be!
Michael Knight: My nephew Cameron does guitar lessons with Tommy. He really loves it. Tommy does a great job. Really happy we chose here and got Tommy.
Kayla: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis place is truly special in terms of learning music in a non traditional way! The owners, Jon and Sarah, really go all out for both their staff and students! I’ve seen kids run to their parents in excitement when wanting to sign up while learning high levels of music theory and note reading. It’s really amazing!
Gregory Grady: I love music. I love concerts. I always imagined myself as a musician, but failed at piano and guitar previously. At School of Rock, their approach worked! In three months, i went from never having played the drums ... to I can play solid basic beats over the whole kit l. Our beginner band even performed a public mini-gig with an audience at a local bistro. A fantastic experience.Teachers so talented and patient with me. Great equipment to practice on too. Everyone is chill and really supportive. Weekly private lessons and a separate group/band session with other players learning instruments too...awesome and the key to getting better.Shout outs to my teachers Mandy, Matt and Jordan and owners Jon and Sarah. They are the best.
Obigone 1: Jon's enthusiasm and kindness had us jumping in with both feet. We are excited to begin this adventure with them. We have tried in the past, with our older children, at other companies and were all duds!! This place ROCKS!!

Jennifer Hughes: Melissa is an amazing teacher and sincerely caring person. Her classes bring so much beauty and positivity to our family's lives. During this time of social distancing, her Zoom classes offer a wonderful opportunity for students to learn from home while experiencing a sense of community and connection they would normally have in her studio.
Chris Lee: Greatest teacher ever😁😁😁
Brian @ Nomad Anglers: What an awesome place for Ukulele lessons! My 6 year old son took them during the winter session and had a blast. Such a great instrument to transition into a guitar. Thank you!
Sid Case: Highly recommended. I took the intro to ukelele class and it was alot of fun. If you are looking to learn a new instrument, improve your skills, or just wanting to try something new this place is for you.

College of Music: what do users think?
Katherine Fox: My experience with the admissions department was very frustrating and disappointing. I auditioned for the Woodwind Specialist MM program. I received a letter from the graduate school at Michigan State saying I was admitted. I even received the same letter in snail mail. A week later I received a letter from the music department saying that I wasn't admitted for the Woodwind Specialist program, but they would admit me for the clarinet performance MM if I desired. When I called asking why I received the first letter from the graduate school, the man seemed confused and said I [didn't] receive a letter because it wasn't in the records. Why would I make up receiving a letter that I was admitted? He reiterated their policy that the letter from the music department comes first. I said that obviously, their letter had NOT come first. When I emailed a copy of the letter I received from the graduate school saying I was admitted to both the associate director and the director, I received NO response. My problem was NOT with the faculty's decision. My problem is with the administrative issues. It does not speak highly of the university and does not motivate me to spend 30K on tuition. Simple empathy or an apology of some sort would have gone a long way. Instead, I am sadly writing this Google review to tell you about my experience.
Donald Barringer: I attended a recital for a horn Doctoral student and it was really nice to see the music community support one another...
Jane Church: Attended the Ribbon cutting for the Billman Pavilon this afternoon. This is a beautiful and much needed addition to The College of Music. Even more impressive than the visible additions are the things that make the infrastructure State of the Art: ventilation and safe air quality, magnificent acoustics, more space and ample space for all activities.
Carol Lyon: Everyone was extremely kind, knew me by name, and listened interestedly to my concerns
Dylan Kelly: Great community. Even better musical instruction. Barrier-free entrances & parking.
Brendan K: Alrighty
Mo Betta: I love music😏
Megan Carnevale: Sing thy praises MSU! Go Green!
Andy Morales: Gorgouse campus
Talitha Wimberly: If you've never been to a MSU College of music concert thou are missing OUT!
Brian Keane: nice music
Debra Hunter: Great presentation to incoming freshmen hoping to be accepted to College of Music. Informative and exciting!
Thomas Rossini: Undergoing a lot of updates and expansion. The facilities are out of date and all need a big update. May increase score to a 5 when the refurb and expansion is complete. The programs they offer are great but like all schools the program you want may or may not be what you want.
Ed Jon: I left a message requesting tickets to the Jazz Spirituals concert and was surprised that not only was my message returned after their Holiday break but they offered to mail the tickets to my home! Happy camper.
Tania Castilhos: Good venue. Great music from the Mitten3 percussion group
Michael Conway: Purchased tickets for Saturday night performance. Very friendly and professional. Busy place. Nice to see expansion is coming along.
Benjamin Kuszak: Always moving forward.
Robert Warner, JR.: Go Green!
Oleg Bezuglov: Awesome place with some interesting concerts!
Gregory Patrick Speicher: My Fiance goes here and it seems like her masters program is top notch.
Eden West: The MSU campus is very lovely, and this facility was beyond my expectations. It makes the UM music building look subpar.
