Disability Rights Michigan: what do users think?
Courtney Blake: Judy has already helped us so much. These people take disability rights very seriously and it’s obvious that they know what they’re talking about.
Kyle: Disability Rights of Michigan can’t help with all cases but they will help guide you you in the right direction with useful information! Thankful for the information provided to help me advocate for my loved ones.
Lex: staff was great, patient and very accommodating helping advocate for my brother.
Demi L: DRM is AMAZING!! While they can't help everyone or solve every problem, they always do the most they can and are continuously brainstorming ways to improve themselves. Plus, even if they can't help you, they will point you in the right direction and provide available resources. The advocates, attorneys, and staff in general sincerely care about helping their clients and protecting civil rights; and their compassion is visceral.I wish more people knew they exist.
lbacker90: I simply requested some guidance with an accessibility issue I'm experiencing. Request number one - ignored. Sent a follow-up request a month later - again ignored. I don't care that they possibly can't help me, but there is no excuse for failing to even acknowledge my requests. DRM needs to restate its mission statement. Say what you mean and mean what you say. I'm disgusted and humiliated.
mi k-s: Lansing office is awful Laurel and Nancy, are rude and their staff receptionist is rude. They dont take issues seriously and dont advocate for people.
Marcus Wierenga: National alliance
Anthony Graham: I have referred many families to MPA mainly to advocate for children who's educational rights were violate, and every experience has been positve. So I say 'keep up the good work"!!
John Allen: I think it is a tragedy that the disabled community who already faces several barriers, receives such poor help in our community. I feel as Americans we need to stand up and take steps to reach out to our local government and let politicians know are experiences with these institutions so necessary corrective action can take place so people with disabilities are not marginalized in are society. It is in my opinion I would not recommend the services of this organization based on my experience with this organization. Thanks for reading. Best regards.
Bruce Peters: This group is the most liberal organization but kowtows to the mental health system. They treat guardians as if they are evil, useless, incompetent and heartless. They take cases where it is obvious to the court system, the local CMH and community that a person is in need of guardianship and try to terminate guardianships. They overstep, over reach and are clueless on showing compassion to those who need a guardian. They attempt to intimidate guardians and CMH in terminating guardianships without ever doing proper research or investigation. They are what is wrong with the mental health system: it is not compassionate to allow people to harm themselves simply to push MPAS’s agenda that guardians are not needed.
Roger Johnsen: Horrible waste of time and effort. As guardian for my brother with developmental disabilities and mental illness I engaged this organization for help with ongoing problems dealing with community mental health and adult foster care. The entire experience was a significant waste of time and not at all helpful for my brother. Our “advocate” was long on language and non-existent on help. I finally had to relocate him out of state to get him the help he needed. Despite multiple instances of CMH violations of MI Mental Health Code - they did nothing, offered no strategy and served nothing more than to provide a false sense of hope my brother would receive the help he needed. While the protection and advocacy concept is desperately needed - this organization is nothing more than empty hope from our experience. My best advice is to get a competent attorney and avoid this organization if you really want results.
Eleanor Canter: At least in regard to the Client Assistance Program, the only thing MPAS offers is the run around. We need a functioning Protection & Advocacy System in the State of Michigan!

Bureau of Services for Blind Persons: what do users think?
Sara Zivkovic: I have been a member of BsbP for four or five years now. They are really helpful organization, they help people with disabilities, with different tasks, such as finding job, continuing education, and there are also many more other services like independent living skills. I would recommend displace to anyone who needs help, staff and personnel really kind and friendly, and helpful.
Clinton: Offers various rehabilitation services for the blind and visually impaired. They have great Instructors and nice environment.
Monica Frazier: Hi my daughter is legally blind 22 years old. Bureau of blind services has failed her and I blame Lauryn Shawnese who stated several times that she could not read my daughter's eye report. So she sent her to a doctor who stated she is not legally blind and she could possibly drive. My daughter is albino and has been going to Dr. Conrad Giles at the Kresge institute all her life they never had a problem reading his reports when she was going to Mumford. They helped her in Mumford with ieps and employment. She is so frustrated now because she has no skills to get work and I'm frustrated because I don't know how to help her. I don't ever want to talk to that person Laury Shawnese again nor the blind services lying eye doctors next I'm reporting to the news because my daughter needs help. I have emailed nothing. THE BUREAU FOR BLIND SERVICES OF MICHIGAN FAILED MY DAUGHTER!!!!
Pamela Hunter: No longer at this address for 1 year!!
Pam Phlippeau: I was just referred here! Can't wait to get started!

Dianna Giro: I never received a return call regarding the citation that I had explained to the person I was talking to.
AmarieB Lansing: Thats it? I need help and no one says anything about this orginization? It must be needed but suckage!!?? That's my only description since no one has a review to offer I'll guess.. PLEASE EVEN A GOOD LEAD AND I'LL SING YOUR TRUE PRAISES. I WON'T LIE BUT, IT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND TRUTHFULLY REVIEWED, I LIVE BY THE GOLDEN RULE, THEREFORE YOU CAN TRUST MY WORD. Thank you so much to whomever at the coalition reads this. If none of you read or care about reviews because you do awesome jobs for each and every person you can possibly help so, who cares? That's great but, if you just don't care PLEASE quit, retire, start being honest, be the change. STOP WASTING DISABLED PEOPLES TIME AND RESOURCES. People have no idea what i have to power through just to leave the house. I don't need my time wasted. I apologise for this rant everyone reading. I'm just a super strong woman with issues. I'm the best at dealing with a crises even though i may seem to be out of control there is a method to my madness and i REFUSE TO LOSE WHEN IM NOT THE BAD GUY. Ill beat a dead horse and get a whiney so, I'm alone and haven't the proper resources for this fight someone has brought into my families lives and i won't go down, if i have to go to law school at 50 come back in 10 years and beat the scrooge in a new fight i will because that win will be for now. Someone HELP!! TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET ADVICE (beside the obvious, attorney) ill bring one to court but i refuse to be quieted. Counting on perfect strangers...
