Casey Adams: I called asking if they could recycle 1lb coleman propane tanks and while they don't, they recommended a place that does. I appreciate that type of customer service. Even though I didn't work out as a customer, they were still willing to help. Signs of a good business!

Rebecca Houlihan: I am disappointed with this company and saddened to even write this review. They were my dad’s propane supplier. We lost my dad in April of 2021. In October of 2021 they delivered propane to his house, which I am grateful for. However, we never received or even knew he had a balance as we never got the bill (USPS didn’t deliver it). That is not Lansing Ice & Fuel’s fault and I am not blaming them. What I am incredibly disappointed by is their decision to remove my dad’s tank in the middle of winter without trying harder to reach us. Even a note in the door (when they delivered or any other time) would have been perfect as we would have seen it. Because of their decision to pull the tank during the coldest months of the year, all of my dad’s pipes burst. I did reach out to Lansing Ice & Fuel to discuss and hopefully rectify/get a new tank delivered, and was promised a call back. They seemed nice on the phone and said they had to talk with the boss before knowing how to proceed, which is understandable. That was a week and a half ago though and I still have not received a call back. Overall, I’m just extremely saddened by the poor timing they chose to take away my dad’s tank, knowing it was dead winter, and the lack of communication once I found out who his propane company was and reached out to them. All I wanted was to make things right and take care of my dad’s home by getting a new tank out there, and I 100% would have paid the previous bill had I known their was one.
Cody Rozell: Nothing but a great experience with these guys. I was irresponsible and neglected to monitor our tank and wound up noticing it had become empty. Even though they had hundreds of scheduled delivery’s ahead of our last minute request they squeezed us in the same day so we wouldn’t run out. Just pay for their monitoring service, it is worth the peace of mind. It helps you and it helps them and you won’t end up like me. God bless.

William Hays: Price runs higher than nearby station. No attendant, which should allow at the very least, a price match, or better. No paper towels, and no washer fluid to clean windshield. Disappointing.

Guess he likes making his drivers look funny and only hires rookies. By the time he parks his truck i could be pulling out and heading to next stop.

Terri Janson: A nice and friendly company. Don't appreciate having to pay a $59.95 propane tank rental fee though. We put plastic on the windows and keep the heat very low to conserve only to be charged a rental fee for not purchasing the minimum amount said by you to avoid this fee.

bruce bailey: Follow-up from initial unsatisfactory review:After posting our initial review, Alto Management reached out to us immediately to gather more information on the situation. Management accompanied a service technician to our house and did another leak check on their tank and equipment. We came to a mutual agreement and they filled our tank at that time for no charge. I'm happy to report that management seemed truly invested in retaining our business and we will continue our service with them in hopes that we continue to receive this type of high quality customer service moving forward.Initial Review:Extremely unhappy with the customer service we have received from the Charlotte location. We have been a customer for 4 years. We routinely use 1 full tank of propane every 10-12 months. We filled our tank in January and by March needed a refill. At that time a leak was found on their tank/equipment. They only credited us $130 of a $700 refill due to the leak. Their contract clearly says they are responsible for maintenance of their tanks and yet they insisted we pay for more than 80% of the premature refill, even though our account clearly shows a 4 year history of using 1 tank every 10-12 months. The manager of the Charlotte location "Kris/Chris" was rude and unhelpful on multiple occasions. I have no doubt she is the "Rude Receptionist" that is noted time and again on your negative Google reviews. We will be draining the propane tank and gladly switching companies. My advice would be to avoid this company if you are looking for any kind of positive customer service experience. My advice to Alto would be to find a manager that is "customer service oriented", because the one you have is costing you customers.
Rick Harrison: I called to get service for my motor home. The person on the phone said it was open - but it was closed for remodeling. I drove all the way from Pleasant Lake.
Craig Meyers: Kirk underwood and Matt Mitchell are great guys to work with. They lined me up with the proper size tank, got it delivered, set in place and a fuel top off scheduled without me even having to be home. Excellent service I’d highly recommend. They’ll be back in the spring to bury a line since the ground is froze now.
Marlana Bernheisel: I can't thank Alto Gas enough for the outstanding service they've provided over the years I've been a customer. From several years ago when your technicians corrected a very dangerous situation from a Generac Generator being installed incorrectly to today when the new oven I purchased wasn't converted from natural gas to LP.Kurk saved the day. Not only was he patiently empathetic, he also provided instruction on steps to take to correct the problem. When I discovered, just moments after he'd left, that the conversion kit that I had purchased was under the manual and just wasn't installed, I called the office in Charlotte to schedule an appointment for the conversion. The office manager Chris contacted him right away and Kurk immediately came back and cheerfully installed the kit.While I know that this level of service isn't always available simply because they have other work, and that I was very fortunate that it worked out and Kurk could fit this project into his day today, I know that Alto Gas can be relied on from previous experience.Thank you so much for the excellent service.

Eric Noneya: Bought a house and the previous owners had a contract with them (Alto's tank). Asked them to fill the tank and they did leak testing before the fill. Had a small leak in the furnace. They shut the tank off and put a lock on the tank the Friday before Christmas weekend. They refused to come back to work with any HVAC technicians for leak testing knowing that we would be without heat for at least 4 days.I'm sorry but if you shut someone off you should make every effort to get them turned back on as soon as possible. It seems almost criminal to shut someone off and leave the office for a 4 day weekend.DO NOT start a contract with them. They don't care about their customers. If there is ever any issue with your system THEY WILL SHUT YOU OFF AND WALK AWAY.I hope they have a nice Christmas, I will be huddled around a space heater with my family during the only time we all have off togeather this year.

Deb Wilk: I was disappointed in Ferrellgas this year. We have been with them for about six years and we have never had to pay rental for our propane tank. This year we received an invoice for a rental fee. The reason given was that we did not use enough propane last year. We work to make our house more efficient and use less to heat it and this is what happens. After complaining to management, Ferrellgas agreed to drop the fee this year. They warned us that if we don't use enough propane, there will be a fee next year. I guess we need to start checking out other propane companies.

Sarah Bland: I would never recommend this company to anybody. Terrible customer service...on hold for HOURS and then don't receive calls back. We ran out of heat and they told us it would be at least 2 weeks before my 14 month old daughter and I would have heat. One lady on the emergency number literally told me at 4:00 in the morning that I could go sleep in my car with my daughter for heat. My husband was out of town for work for a week so I was alone without heat with a freezing cold, infant for 4 full days before we decided to cancel services. My husband got ahold of Applebees Oil and Propane and they came out with a new tank and reset our furnace within 35 minutes because it was an emergency situation!! Now that is customer service! Not everything Ferrell Gas has put us through ... not to mention they mischarged us multiple times.
Steve Garrett: My experience was substandard in all respects. I tried to set up new service and they do not communicate, no return phone calls when promised, excuses and buck passing when you try to get an answer to a simple question. In my experience , they seem to have abandoned the idea of customer service. Very frustrating.
