Jason: Came in for about $600 worth of supplies. Left with 2 boxes of nails and a pencil. Was told the wrong places for things twice. Lumber missing signs, not going to guess. Epic fail, would have just left but I need the nails.Edit: Tried again to buy lumber, needed a board cut and an employee walked up and asked if I needed help. I started explaining and his phone beeped, ge grabbed it while I was talking and ignored me. After a moment he started walking away, looked over his shoulder and said, I need to help another customer and left. I have never been so disrespected in my life. Least if he called me N*gger first I would know he acknowledged me. I hope everyone in this store loses their job and die in squalor.

He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the Scott’s brand that you carry.We discussed germination rates and the use of straw versus the grass mat to hold and protect the seed.I also inquired about the availability of some metal stakes to hold down a very large, heavy-duty tarp that I am using to cover up a section of our garden to keep weeds from growing. I am downsizing the garden and will be planting grass there eventually. Brandon was able to tell me what kind of stakes he had (plastic and metal) and where they were located.I thanked him for his courteous assistance and advice. I also asked to speak to his supervisor (Brendan) to express my appreciation for Brandon’s helpfulness, but he was not in at the time I called (9:00 p.m. ).

Met a veteran there who helped us a great deal. Got what we came for, cut to size, at the right price, basically with someone guiding us to each location. Got to thank him for his service as well. Joana Lampe: I rented a tiller for a garden project online. Since it's a small project, we rented it for the day of. We had friends ready to help shovel and rake the compost and everything was set up. I got a reminder email for my rental and everything. Once we got there, we were told that staff "had been worried about this rental" because all the tillers were still winterized and we shouldn't have been able to even place that order. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the poor high school or college kid was getting slammed without accessible supervisor support around lunch time, but he stayed polite and apologized profusely. Not his fault, but you'd think 1) that they'd update their website, and 2) once they notice there is a problem with a reservation made 4 days in advance, that they'd reach out. This way, I had to rent from AC&E in Lansing (which I should have done in the first place, they were amazing) and do the project without the help of friends. Very unfortunate. Not impressed, Home Depot.

I'm sensitive to chemical smells like fertilizer, new carpet smell (off gassing chemicals), and exhaust from diesel vehicles. I found my item and got out fast! I asked the cashier if they just got a shipment of fertilizer since it's spring time. She said no, it always smells like that. I won't be back.

I actually will drive from Dewitt to find what I need due to their great staff and inventory of items. Several years ago I purchased a Weber grill. They assembled it and delivered to our home for no charge!

And the only advice Lowe's could give was to contact Craftsman. This was Lowe's in Lansing, Michigan. Will definitely not shop with them for having terrible customer service. No one at the 1-800 number even knew where to send my call to. What a joke. I am now even more furious. DO NOT BUY CRAFTSMAN. There is a reason Sears went out of business. Their product is junk. Yesterday one was actually rude on a return and nothing was out of order. I have only visited this Menards so cant speak for other stores and I rarely ask for assistance but if I do Id like to be treated pleasantly.

John Kinsora: After I spent 10 minutes looking for an item to no avail I decided to find an employee for some assistance. I came across a group of four employees having a rather inappropriate conversation and politely asked if they could point me in the right direction. Three of them we’re clueless but the fourth who was as pleasant as a rattlesnake simply pointed down an isle saying go that way it should be by the end then turned and continued with their conversation. I was a slightly annoyed by the lack of customer service but it was the last item I needed so I went to checkout. I purchased around $600 worth of building supplies and as I was leaving the store asset protection stopped me and accused me of stealing a $12 dollar pair of reading glasses I’d been using to read labels since I had forgotten mine. I understand this is their job and as a former police officer I’ve handled plenty of calls for retail theft and if he had conducted himself properly it wouldn’t have been an issue. But instead he decided to be rude, arrogant and condescending letting his little plastic asset protection id inflate his ego. After a brief argument that continued even after I made it obviously clear I hadn’t taken anything he finally realized it was time to shut his mouth and walk away, I was so annoyed by the overall experience I nearly returned everything and wish I had.

Regrettably, the product I purchased was found to be defective due to a manufacturing issue, rendering it inoperable. Despite having purchased a warranty, the establishment in question refused to honor their commitment and provide the necessary recourse, citing the unavailability of the product in question.This grossly unfair treatment was not a one-off occurrence, as a subsequent purchase of a chainsaw also proved to be similarly problematic. In this instance, the chainsaw failed to start even after an employee's intervention, yet the establishment was once again reluctant to provide the promised refund. It was only through persistent and arduous negotiation that I was able to secure the due compensation for both incidents.It is deeply concerning that the establishment's business practices have led to such distressing outcomes, which can only be described as a form of daylight robbery. However, as a tenacious and determined individual, I remained resolute in my pursuit of justice, and was able to reclaim what was rightfully mine.

Jennifer Burnett: Called this guy over for a quote on a custom outhouse for my husband. When he arrived at our house, he was eating this enormous Reuben sandwich. Just like carried it around while he talked. Spittle flying everywhere. It was actually kind of impressive. I had just asked him if it was dry or if it had Russian dressing on it when he suddenly projectile vomited all over my toy poodle, Brett Somersault. Now I have to have my carpet and my poodle cleaned, and she may require canine regressive therapy to fully recover. It was chunky. I’m taking my outhouse needs to elsewhere.

Then the case of him swerving and nearly hitting my child when I walked with him down to the mailbox to get our mail. Mark Sulkes: I wrote a detailed, very positive review on Yelp that its algorithm deemed "not recommended." They refuse to let humans fix the errors of their defective algorithm. Because Jeff deserves the praise in this review, I'm now posting it here:I've benefited from Jeff's services for many years. There have been three reasons why I engage him again and again: (1) Jeff's extraordinary range of skills--electrician, plumbing issues, carpentry, glass work, among many others. (2) Jeff arrives with an extremely wide range of power tools, hand tools, and supplies, such that he's prepared for almost anything. (3) Unlike most handymen, who have learned how to do certain jobs, Jeff has another rare asset: He knows how to think. Thus, aside from his extraordinary range, he can improvise; he can find a way to do the job efficiently, possibly when others who supposedly know how to do the job mess up. Factor (3) hugely leverages factors (1) and (2). On the same day, you can ask Jeff to do two entirely different jobs that otherwise would have required two different people. These three factors are a pretty strong incentive for engaging Jeff, but I've just become aware of a fourth factor benefiting established customers. Yesterday, a Saturday, there was a violent thunderstorm. Water started leaking through the roof, causing some interior damage. That was bad enough, but, worse, the weather forecast was for rain all day for the next week. We were defenseless, looking at possibly disastrous interior damage. So what do you do on Sunday when you're facing this disaster? If you think you can cold call and engage a roofer on a Sunday with notice of a few hours, you can probably pay this imagined roofer with the lottery winnings you also expect. However, if you're a regular customer of Jeff, here is golden advantage four: Call him. Jeff came in just a few hours, after acquiring all materials he felt he possibly might need (some not needed). When he left--after 7 PM on Sunday!--the roof damage had been repaired.When it comes to highly competent repair people with a wide range of skills, Jeff really doesn't have a whole lot of serious competition in the New Orleans area. Justin: Worked one day's work and he refused to pay me one day's pay because I couldn't give him an address. I told him i was sleeping in my truck and hungry. He said he would rip my head off and hand it to me. I offered to meet so he could give it a try, but he didn't have a bite for his bark. That was a few months back. Still waiting for that money for food. Oh, I also saw him drive bad, twice. Your definitely right about the anger problems. He's going to get into trouble if he keeps it up. I could have put a lean on the homeowner but it wasn't his fault and he was a great guy. Just say I g be caref with this one.
