Wine & Canvas Lansing: what do users think?
Gwen Baker: We had a great time during open studio and they were so helpful with questions! We will be back.
LaToya Mason: Great place to spend a few hours and great instructor!!
t w: We had a great time, the staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect for painting and having fun. This was our first time painting together and my first time painting in nearly 30 years, what a blast!
Chris S: Cool spot to paint and drink.
Beth: I have attended a few classes and have truly enjoyed them all. I know I can bring a friend (young or old) despite our ability and the instructor will help us get a decent product. My favorite is taking the kids and sharing the experience with them. We're starting to make a tradition of it and now we have art all over the house!
Melanie Jones: Went with one of my friends to get away from campus for a while. Kellie was great and led a really easy walk through of our painting. I can't draw a straight line normally but I think our paintings turned out pretty well!
Marco Brown: This was a really fun time. I have an “epic rush” afterward from feeling so accomplished in my first amateur painting. Definitely recommend this location, the staff, and the process. It was a lot of fun. All you can drink mimosas for $10!
Amanda Koch: Great time. My painting even turned out okay :) I will be coming back and bringing my family.
Shanna Shaft: Lots of fun
Tonia Gonyer: Have a very beautiful day with my daughter and sister definitely Will be doing it again
Laura Marrison: Kelly is awesome
Cassie Gaskill: Liz was amazing! My 7yo daughter and I had so much fun together at family night!
Cindy Cook: Instructors was great
Tyler L: Critical:Communication,ProfessionalismPoor and minimal effort customer service. You cannot get ahold of anyone in this location. No one answers any of their listed phone numbers.
Lindsay Rose: So much fun! Our instructor was Clare and she did an amazing job of leading the class! Will definitely be coming back.
Brandon Deemter: Fantastic experience, easy explanations on how to paint even for beginners. We came here for my wife’s bday with her family and we had a great time painting and sipping wine. (Don’t bring your toddler).

I left with such a positive experience I decided to donate and volunteer!

Sunset Clay Studio: what do users think?
Joelle Humes: The owner is wonderful with my kids, and super patient helping them work with clay! My family always has a great time!
Mrs. “BD's Wifey” Franklin: Love this place
Megan Dowell: Love this place! It's a little overwhelming at first because it's at a dead end street inside a giant warehouse, but once you actually get into the studio, you see that it's very friendly! The space is fully equipped for clay and the owner, Abby is an absolute sweetheart. There's even a small kitchen in the studio. It's a pretty neat little place and I highly recommend!
Jessy Gregg: Well equipped clay studio with a variety of workshops for children and adults.
Jael O'Hare: This is a wonderful place to play and learn for people of all ages! Abby, who runs the studio is singularly passionate about art and particularly making it accessible. The classes are very affordable, and Abby's genuine & infectious enthusiasm imbues each workshop with fun! The space is open & welcoming to really anyone of any persuasion, including being a safe space for LGBTQIA & POC folks. The space is also accessible to folks with disability. The studio is easy to get to and there is ample street parking. There is lots of beautiful art to look at too. Abby is a master ceramicist in her own right and the studio's walls are lined with not only her beautiful work but also of other artists she supports and former students. The 2000sqft studio is crazy well equipped with a slab roller, a pottery wheel, a large plaster wedging table, a glaze mixing room with 7 ft spray booth, a plaster room with mold-making equipment, and a slip mixing table with mold pouring equipment. You cannot find a more affordable class with this high level of equipment and the mastery to back it up.I freakin' love this place!!
Bruce Robinson: Overpriced
Debi Baker: Had fun love the clay art!
William Dowell: Fun
Katie Hobson: Fun place to play with clay and buy great art. They host fun events several times per year, they also offer classes and rent studio space.

Wheel House Studio: what do users think?
Leslie Laine: We LOVED our date night experience! Dan and Abbey are amazing and they were both so welcoming and kind! A must do in the Lansing area! ✨
Jeffery Woodrow: Amazing experience except for the "rat's" lol. Definitely my bestest and I will be back.
Danielle Dayrell: This was the most amazing Anniversary/date night that my husband and I had in 28 years!!!! We not only were first timers, and a bit nervous, but we also had never been to the studio. Dan and Abbey were PHENOMENAL teachers and people. We look forward to doing this many times again. Thanks Dan and Abbey for being amazing teachers and such kind people.
Victor Feldpausch: Don't normally bother writing a review for places, however I had such an amazing time here with my girlfriend. The owners were super funny and helpful. I'll definitely be returning and recommending this to all my friends and family for a perfect date night !!
Luke Margules: Sorry Dan... I have to leave you guys an amazing review. I know yall are getting booked up and busy, but thats for a reason and its because youre super chill and fun. Highly suggest other people sign up too ;-)
Danny H: Honestly I was expecting a cool experience, but our date night was so much more than that. Dan and Abbey were not only great hosts, but just great people. They made us feel welcome and competent (which we were not). If you're hesitating on trying out a lesson I can't stress this enough: DO IT
Marti Little: Best place ever to do pottery!
Anthony Buffa: Dan and Abbey are GREAT! They give the best experience, and are able to accommodate to any skill level, which helped us! Easy to learn from these two, as well as enjoy their great company. HIGHLY recommend wheel house! :)
Elizabeth Vickers: Best pottery studio in the Lansing area! Dan has a relaxed and independent class approach where you work on what appeals to you and he assists. He's always happy to share tips and knowledge and there's no gatekeeping around the kiln. He runs the studio with his wife Abbey, who is so very kind and supportive to the students. They both go the extra mile and take care of pieces that would otherwise be ruined when a student misses class because they are sick. Plus, they are both just really cool people. I cannot recommend this studio enough!
waza320: Looks like a great place; I have been wanting to sign my wife and kids up, but all students must be fully vaccinated to participate in their sessions. Wheel House, please consider opening up your classes to unvaccinated people, too.
Jeffrey Schmidt: My girlfriend and I signed up for a pottery date night. It was a fantastic experience! It was relaxed and fun. Dan and Abbey were welcoming and walked us through the process of glazing and using the pottery wheel. We both felt pretty accomplished by the end of it! It was a fun way for us to show off our creativity. If anyone is looking for a one of a kind night out consider signing up for a date night on their website. They took photos for us and we chose to keep the pieces we made, so now we always have a way to remember the experience. They are situated right next to sleepwalker spirits which made the date night complete.
Alex Demetros: I'm a microbiologist and am about to do an experiment, but I needed a small amount of a chemical called potassium feldspar which is commonly used in ceramics and is stupid expensive when it comes to the pure molecular biology grade stuff(which I don't need). So I went over to wheel house studio since I live close by an knocked on the door and spoke with Dan explaining the situation and he was super friendly and helpful and gave me more than I needed. it was a wonderful experience and would love to bring a date to a date night pottery lesson in the future. Thanks again Dan!
Amanda Huang: Abby and Dan were both very welcoming and are awesome people. Environment was great the moment you walked in and Dan is a great teacher. Learned a lot and actually made products considering how we had very little to no experience. Great price and most importantly, great people! Will be going back to glaze our products and would definitely go back again for more lessons. Thanks for an awesome time!
Kate Capeneka: Date Night at Wheel House Studio was such a fun way to spend a Friday night. Dan and Abby were fun and personable and really made the whole experience great. Highly recommend if you're looking for something to do with a partner or friend!
Thida Myint: Honestly one of the most fun and engaging endeavors that I’ve done in a while. Dan and Abby are awesome human beings that are not only passionate about ceramics and art, but about the community as a whole. I signed up for a one on one lesson during the pandemic because I’ve always wanted to try wheel throwing and never had the opportunity. Dan was a great instructor and was the right mix of attentive and hands-off, letting me experiment and get a feel for the clay. He gave detailed feedback to tweak my technique and I was super excited about the progress I made during my lesson. I will definitely be back for more lessons and I would not hesitate to recommend trying this out to anyone, regardless of skill level. It was great just playing with the clay and hanging out with Dan and Abby. In addition, the studio is gorgeous with exposed brick, exposed ductwork and beautiful crown molding. You can immediately tell how much love and attention they put into their space. As a bonus, there’s plenty of easy, free parking right out front and it seems like a great bohomian neighborhood with a lot of cool spots to check out.TLDR: awesome people, beautiful studio, great activity to do solo or with a group
Emma Gray: Fantastic, laid back learning. Run by two of the best humans we've got on this planet. Would recommend!
Dustin Grimes: Dan has a natural talent for art education. I've instructed with him, he brings a charisma and enthusiasm to his projects that are inspiring. You will have fun and learn in his studio.
Megan Warner: Classes are great, studio is great, Dan is great - just make sure to ask him about his "bird problem"!
Deanna Ambrose: My boyfriend and I attended a special Valentine’s Day event, and it was so fun! We learned about how to use the glazes to get the “right” color and which glazes go nicely with others. The owner spent a good amount of time helping me achieve a true pink for my heart shaped bowl. Afterward we made cute Valentine’s Day cards and took pictures like the sultry pottery scene from Ghost. Super silly and fun event for anyone looking for something on Valentine’s Day, and we have souvenirs. :)
Emily Lowe: Dan is the worst.
Lisa Buttigieg: What an awesome place to be creative! Dan is an amazing teacher and host, not to mention very funny! Be prepared to have a great experience.
