Sparrow Hospital St. Lawrence Campus: what do users think?
Hal Geiger: I took some time to think about posting this and decided to go ahead. The volunteers at the front desk were fantastic, my issue is with the care I got after my surgery.I had outpatient surgery here, this is not my first or last surgery.I was having trouble afterwards with waking up. The issues were:1. My blood sugar& 2. The pain I was in.I was certainly in no shape to get home, I had reached the point where I was extremely nauseous from the fact my blood sugar was low. I know that at this point, I need something quickly before it goes downhill. I WAS MISERABLE.I had a long ride home down bumpy country roads, and again, the only "help" they gave me was minimal. It was HORRID. I felt every bump in the road, I was close go vomiting several times, and I think I might have even lost consciousness because there is a missing piece in my memory. It was very evident they did not care what state I was in, they wanted to go home. As a nurse/medical "professional" their purpose is to help relieve the suffering of their patients. They did not do that.
Ruth Gibbs: I'm 76 years old and have been to the hospital MANY MANY times. My experience last Thursday was the ABSOLUTE BEST EVER. The Staff is OUTSTANDING. Dr. Sterling got my surgery done and had me on my way home hours before I expected. I would HIGHLY recommend going to the St. Lawrence campus for any treatment. GOD BLESS EVERYONE who had a part of my care
Jeff Allshouse: Awesome
Carla Hutchens: Don’t get tested here wait is way to long
Karen Robbins: Sparrow has brought me back from dead more than once. I trust them anytime
Stephanie Jordan: Extremely nice staff, quick in and out
Viola Owens: Good staff
Tootie Lacey: I came in at 10pm and its almost 5am in the morning for a stomach ache.one of the worst time management hospital I ever seen. Also the staff is no where to be found.what is the mission here?
Jodi Grandy: Worst wait ever! When youre in pain and know something is seriously wrong and waiting in an uncomfortable chair in pain for 3 hours yet people who came in long after you are being treated before you! Something is seriously wrong here!
Janelle Stokes: My eight year old daughter was dragged by a horse this past Saturday and I brought her in to get checked out. The staff was absolutely amazing! They took the time to listen to my daughter's and my concerns and made it as painless as possible to check my daughter's injuries out. They took the time to explain everything to my daughter and calmed her fears. I cannot express enough thanks to the staff for the care they provided!
Sid Worthington: Haven't,it a mental health, and it's just a close to go to Sparrow main.
pat izzo: My experience here has always been positive.
Emily Jarvis: Great psych ward...good food. Pre order your meals from the menu.
Leslie Mitchell: Great care and kindness.
Tim Davis: Clean nice new waiting room
Emily Brennan: Great experience every time. The ER has such a short wait!
Tony Sabo: 4 plus hours waiting in an almost empty waiting room. I'm only giving it three stars because of the wait and how unorganized it felt. Once I got back to see everyone, they were great.
MOUNTAIN: I have told my Family Doctor to put on my record, that I seriously do not want to go the Saint Lawrence Hospital for any reason. Yes, I know that they are close to my home. I hve already gone there many times for Different reasons. I can't say anything good about the experience. The environment, the employees, the cafeteria, etc :-( All I know for sure is I don't want to DIE THERE. I DON'T CARE IF I DIE IN THE no in route to another Hospital. That suits me just fine. I have paid my dues at Saint Lawrence... I 'm finished. I wish that they would demolish the whole thing AND stat Fresh. I wish that Sparrow would wake up and see this. REALTY ! I'm sorry... No Recommendations
Dr. Haider: To much wait. You should improve your service.
Wendy Chatman: Worst hospital, still sitting here for 3 hrs waiting to be seen and told I'm not an emergency. Second time here in 3 days, no nurse checked on Me, I'm in a small cubby hole bash hurting more. This is bad place to go. Wouldn't give them any stars
Meaghan Meister: Worst "hospital" EVER along with Sparrow main campus! Never again will I step foot in either! Go to McLaren, they actually care! 😡

BridgeCare Specialists of Michigan (Discharge Clinic): what do users think?
Kalena Baldwin: Doctor Hershey was Excellent news now doctor s like her.
Roberts Roberts: So grateful for the opportunity that Bridge has offered my mom.She recently came home from rehab after a fracture. So many of our questions were answered and we can now stop worrying.Brideway will be there for my mother and continue to assist during the healing process.Thank you so much!
Cheryl O'Rourke: They are very easy to work with, helpful, and thorough! I would definitely recommend!
Nichole Cribley: Bridgecare is an awesome program to help with medical needs while searching for a primary care physician after leaving the hospital. It was a lifesaver for my grandmother. Also to know that they will always be available to her if needed. I would highly recommend BridgeCare.
Dee: Bridgecare Specialist has been a life saver! I moved during Covid and did not have a primary doctor. I broke multiple bones from a fall and spent many days in the hospital and rehabilitation center. I could not care for myself yet and needed a primary doctor for prescriptions, therapist, and documents to my HR Department. Dr. Hershey (Dr. Harshini "Hershey" Jayasuriya, MD) became my temporary primary doctor. She has gone above and beyond to assist me during this process! I wish she could be my primary doctor always. I do highly recommend Bridgecare Specialist snd Dr. Hershey as they did help put my broken life back together.
Martha McCarter: Awesome! Thanks for helping me understand what I went thru and getting me thru this process! GOD Bless You
Dennis P: Following an unexpected hospital visit, my elderly Mom stayed with us for a month while she recuperated. Problem was, she was "in between" primary care docs at the time, which resulted in a host of health care system and insurance issues including assessments and approvals for in-home therapy and other care (a role that her many specialists were either unable or unwilling to fill). Thank goodness we were referred to Dr. Dr. Harshini Jayasuriya of BridgeCare Specialists. Dr. "Hershey" is a first rate physician – knowledgeable, caring, flexible, and one quick study when it came to my Mom's many issues. We immediately came to trust and depend on Dr. Hershey's guidance and suggestions. This past month would have been much more difficult without her. I am happy to give her a five star review and my unequivocal recommendation.
Joseph Starin: PostBridgeCare Specialists of Michigan went above and beyond for me. After being treated in the hospital for 3 weeks battling a life threatening case of pancreatitis. I needed a medication that I’m supposed to take for the rest of my life every time I eat. The hospital was unable to help me till after the weekend. My insurance wouldn’t cover it and it cost over $1000.00 to pay cash. After working very hard bridge care made it happen. My experience with them has been truly amazing. They are real life savers. Thank you bridge care.
stephanie niemela: This is a very worthwhile service. I was treated with respect, care, and the best of knowledge. I feel confident moving forward. I am thankful for my talk with Dr. Hershey.
regina slowey: BridgeCare was the perfect way to help my mom when she returned home from the hospital - I felt confident she was being monitored by a team that really cared, and even though she was at risk, the team was able to adjust her treatment real time! As a caregiver, it was great for my piece of mind also!
Elizabeth Marchena: Great support!
Annie Liu: My mom was visiting Michigan and got sick. Bridgecare helped her when she got out of the hospital and needed to rest before she flew home. The refilled all her meds after talking to my mom's doctor in California.
Marilee Rump: Bridgecare helped me leave the hospital faster by agreeing to manage my meds until I could see my doctor again. Great service and really thoughtful doctors. They took care of my refills and helped me get into the cardiologist faster by calling them directly. Would definitely recommend their services to any patient leaving the hospital.

McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital: what do users think?
Ivey Matter: Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Alex Policht: ER team handled my pregnant wife extraordinary well with care. Being new patient to this care system they were efficient and took care of us very well at 2:40am heart scare i couldn’t have been more satisfied an safe with their care with my love of my life.
heather rhead: Staff was friendly, quick and efficient. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my 10 AM appointment. I was walking out the door by 10:04 AM. Great experience.
Tresa Nelson: Had to visit the 2nd floor surgery department yesterday and I have nothing negative to say. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The chairs all over the 1st and 2nd floor are AMAZING for all sizes 😍 Facility is beautiful and well thought out. I hope they can bring up their reviews.
Eurithra P. Daley: UPDATE 5-2023 after ER visit -Barely a year old - doors don't work, equipment is broken, elevators are out of order, and you can't find a comfortable chair to sit in (by design?). Popular emergency doc fired for spending too much time with patients, long waits, etc.Has not improved with age.ORIGINAL - Our first visit last spring of 2022 was not good. You'd think during the initial period of operation, McLaren's management would be knocking itself out trying to make a good impression. But no.Instead of being greeted and assisted by a McLaren employee (or by a kindly boy or girl scout, Nat'l. Honor student, AARP volunteer.... or any other Good Samaritan), patients were instead left to stumble about on their own, hoping to get treated within 12 hours or before they pass out.Even little things were a mess. How could the emergency waiting area - the "Family Lounge"- be so COLD and drafty? (Especially with no warm blankets available - too expensive, I'm sure.). God forbid ailing patients should spend their day waiting in warmth while the hours tick by.And rather unfriendly... quite possibly another result of understaffing and management apathy toward staff and patients.PS. I just read some of the other awful reviews about initial experiences at the brand new hospital. Aside from the appalling picture they paint of this new facility, the complaints are striking in the fact that they elicit no more than an automated response from McLaren to call the shadowy "Patient Advocate" (not staffed round the clock, BTW). I have to wonder what kind of runaround awaits in that department.Grade - D
Tanya Williams: I’m beginning to understand the new flow of things in the ER. It seem to be going much smoothly then it were when 1st opened. Nurses and Physician was very punctual and seen me in a timely fashion. I actually ( for once) don’t have anything negative to say about the ER considering how packed it was. You have to be patient because they are understaffed and doing their best to see everyone as quick as possible.
Linda Cummings: The entire hospital staff that helped during my stay for a medical procedure were personable, attentive and efficient, which gave me great peace of mind. Just as it should be.
Janet Hayduk: They were supposed to set up an appointment with a gasterologist for me and not only did they not do it, but when i waited over a month and called them, they were rude and told me to do it myself. I would have done this a month ago, if they were not going to do it, likè they said they would!
W. Grace Nicodemus: I saw Robert Taylor Scott. D. O, he is a wonderful doctor. He has been my doctor for 7 years.
AMS Traveler: This facility is terrible. I brought my child in by the direction of her pediatrician on a Saturday for fever, chills, etc after suspected tick bite. The doctor who attended to us was rude and dismissive. He did not do a physical exam and slammed our doctor for telling us to come to the ER calling him “lazy”. He never once checked her lungs, eyes, nose… literally nothing. He asked for blood to be drawn in which it took 2 attempts to get blood and they didn’t get enough. My child was screaming in pain and agony. Her arms are in so much pain she won’t move them. He told us he was treating her for Lymes disease and if it happened to be something else the antibiotics would take care of it. Then dismissed us. We tried to fill antibiotics at the pharmacy only to find out the doctor wrote the RX wrong! I’m in shock this quality of care exists and I will be filing a complaint with the hospital.
Lisa Desprez-Orr: Great experience for my mammogram! Didn’t wait very long and was in and out quickly. The technician was very friendly and thorough.
M W (Liss): Very professional and helpful.
Laurie Dallape: Beautiful hospital. Labor and Delivery excellent. Cafe bright and airy. Gift shop cute, small.
June Clever: The Mammogram center is the best. Everyone was cheerful and professional and on time! Thank you
Chris Perry: Service is excellent, Drs and care staff are excellent, but for the love of God pre-pay NOTHING. Their accounting system is a disaster and they will double bill you without blinking, and be completely unable to reconcile.bills and payments.
Gail Robins: Quick registration, very short wait time for my testing and the results were available in the patient portal within 90 minutes.
Cindy Whitaker: This was my second hospitalization in a month. The first caused an infection and subsequently an allergic reaction that caused 6 days on the 6th floor. A doctor came in and said they were going to be adjusting meds. An hour later they were discharging me and it wasn't the doctor I'd seen. No therapy or breathing treatments that were ordered happened. I will give thanks to nurses Justin, Paris, and aide Pennie who tried to get pain managed. Kitchen kept sending acidic food
David Backstrom: Very beautiful hospital. The staff is excellent at what they do. Cafeteria is very nice. Nobody wants to go to a hospital but if you have to go this is the place.
nichole stiffler: From the moment I stepped foot into the hospital until I left was an INCREDIBLE experience.
Kevin Duff: Went into the hospital a few weeks ago Total confusion through the whole time kept telling me I was going to go home never happened I ended up staying then when I tried to pull the medical records on my chart it doesn't show just any of the procedures I went through only shows blood test they got part of it but not all of it had this problem a few years ago with them and decided to try them again because they are in a new facility and they were breaking about how well that they do things did not find it in my case
TOD Norman: I’m a terminally ill cancer patient and had to stay on 7 west for several days (April 25-29th) for chemo and other medical procedures and just let me say, the nurses and nursing assistants “ROCK ON 7 WEST!”Kind hearted and attentive people who made my stay so much better than I thought would be possible. Their sensitivity, and ability to be supportive in such a hard time of my life will never be forgotten and I am thankful for them being there for me in the midst of my challenges. Hats off to 7 West! ❤️

Sparrow Herbert-Herman Cancer Center Infusion Center: what do users think?
stephen hosimer: My husband was held hostage and I was not allowed to be in the loop. He was in there for lung cancer treatment for 2 weeks and I never heard about his case from ANYONE at that hospital. I was scared I'd never see him again , he would die and no one would tell me a thing. Its a travesty I do NOT recommend this hospital for anything
Mike Bowler: Visited here a few times for family tests and find it convenient for parking, checking in, and great service by staff to get in and out in a timely fashion. Kudos to the staff at Sparrow.
Karen Laurent: All staff at cancer center are wonderful people
Siempre Brilla: The facilities look nice. The care by staff varies far too widely for me. It’s all dependent on who’s caring for you
Ed Vaughn: My wife had stage two breast cancer, and the wonderful people at Herbert Herman which is a division of Sparrow Hospital in Lansing Michigan. Cured my wife of cancer. Not remission, they cured it. I owe them everything.
M Janice Courter: I love, love, love every staff person that I have interacted with. Everyone has been so supportive. Everyone always has a smile on their face.
Kelly Gmazel: Caring people, wonderful doctors and staff that helps you smile in tough times.
Cheryl Walter: Went to the health center for Covid infusion. The whole staff could not have been more friendly, cheerful, kind and attentive. My sincere thanks for being a ray of sunshine in these scary times!
Chris Adamson: Lori the infusion nurse had absolutely disgusting bedside manner, i was a tad late for my appointment and she decided to raise her voice and argue with me loudly, saying "I did not have to take you back" "im doing you a favor" "i shouldn't have taken you back, I got other patients," turns out i was her last patient and she did not want to serve me so she ended up calling my doctor to cancel my meds. Complete disregard for patient care and health. Some people just should not be in health care. Especially those that have personal issues they bring to work and those who are too old and cranky to properly serve patients. I will be submitting a formak complaint against lori, thrpughly dissatisfied with her disrespect. The only reason they get even 1 star and the saving grace of the facillity was nell the nurse who is absolutely lovely and brings a smile to my face everytime I'm lucky enough to have her as my nurse and gloria the supervising nurse, who remedied the situation by getting me the next soonest appointment.
Linda McPherson: The doctors and nurses here are very caring and supportive but the whole program is very disorganized. People are making decisions and changing schedules and not communicating with each other. This is very confusing when a family has cancer to deal with with one of their loved ones and you have people from the facility calling to ask why we changed an appointment that we didn't change. Herbert Herman Cancer center needs to hire case managers for all the patients. One person that can answer questions and follow up on those if need be. We had one, ONE, pain management nurse that was only available on Wednesday mornings. This is absolutely unacceptable. When a person has cancer their pain level can change day to day and the pain management people need to be on top of that and accessible as much as possible. The program is so disorganized it's hard to believe that they can manage Cancer Care effectively.
Farnaz Ghazi-Nezami: The nurses and staff inside the infusion centers are awesome. They are truely like angels. I had Nell as my nurse a couple of times and she went beyond the expectations. They need to be recognized. Thank you all
Marci McDonald: I cant say enough good things about Sparrow Infusion center and their staff. The nurses and staff have been very supportive and uplifting, especially Nell. What an amazing human being! The nurses took their time to explain exactly what was going on for each treatment. Any and all question's my family and I had were answered and dealt with by the end of that days treatment. The staff went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable. Thank you, to all of the staff at the Infusion Center, for making a hard situation easier to deal with. You are greatly appreciated.
Kayla: I too agree with Robin. Absolutely disorganized chaos. Receptionists and nurses are completely inadequate. Follow-up is non-existent. No communication between staff whatsoever which leads to your time being wasted. And when you bring your concerns up expect to be disrespected and have your call passed around like a hot potato. Leave the snarky attitudes at home when you're dealing with people who are already dealing with a lot and have to deal with your attitudes on top of it.
brian shipaila: Not a customer, brought father in law.Older heavyset receptionist..what a rude person. Your wages are paid by customers, I will never recommend this place due to receptionist...who sits on her big rear and supposed to accept people with warm welcome!! Crude, Rude,
Angela: Never have I waited more than 15 minutes, most of the time less.Everything about Herbert-Herman is positive! Great staff, intelligent, caring and kind! Both of my Doctors are Amazing! Thank You for giving me such an awesome team to take care of me!Keep in mind this is a new facility:Opening New Doors in the Fight Against Cancer. In an emotional and touching ceremony on July 11, 2017, Sparrow dedicated the new Herbert-Herman Cancer Center — a milestone for the mid-Michigan region in providing world-class treatment here at home with no need to go anywhere else.
Sharon Pakosz: The Herbert Herman Cancer Center is amazing. My daughter has stage four stomach cancer. The staff, Dr Ali-Ahmad and Dr Meunier are all kind, and explain everything so well to us. The chemo staff are wonderful as well. During this scarey time, my daughter feels we have the best of the best and for this we are so thankful.
Dominic Miller: Told me to be there 15 mins early and I was. So I did my part. Have a 2 year old son and had to try and keep him occupied and quiet for a whole hour before I got mad and had to find someone meanwhile was anxious to hear knees and they had me tapping my foot for more then an hour. This place is a joke. Get it together. Don't waste your time here.
Lillian McFarlin: cancer sucks, but this was a nice facility that worked together pretty efficiently.
Lynn Nevin: I sought opinions from more than one cancer center. Sparrow was more up to date on treatment options. My preferences and opinions mattered to my treatment team. Sharon Cosgrove, the breast cancer nurse navigator continued to be available for advice long after active treatment was completed. She goes the extra mile to make sure that her patients access the appropriate care.
Ann Jones: I totally agree with Robin Hyman... the Sparrow Cancer Clinic (Breast Cancer Clinic) is very bad! Very poor to non-existent patient support, and chaos seems to reign at all levels. Go to the other Cancer Clinic in town - but not here! Hopefully, they will be better now that they are in their new building, but I wouldn't count on it.
Robin Hyman: Sparrow Cancer Center is an abomination. They have zero organization. If you have ANY choice in where you go, you need to go elsewhere. Horrendous patient support. Across the board these people should be ashamed of their system.
