Tabs Abernathy (Tabs672): Pretty sure it's a scam...Setting up a rental unit was quick and easy, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great service!Update: 3 months later and they have practically doubled the rent for the storage unit with no forewarning. When I called to ask about it, I was told they sent the notification 'to the wrong address, so sorry about your luck.' Pretty bad company behavior, and possible scam? Beware!

DAMNRIGHT! “DRE”: From start to finish this was a great experience. Caught a great deal when I first purchased the unit.I was there for several months. Casey was very helpful. I even left my unit unlock a couples of times. You know,rushing. She called me, not to long after I had left it unlock, to let me know. Even when I left,I didn't let them know ahead of time so I could pay a pro-rated amount. So I thought I'd just eat the lost and she still found away to refund me the additional money for the time I would have used. The enclosed access to the units are great. Especially when it's cold,raining or snowing. I'm glad I found this place. Will definitely recommend or return if needed.

D S: Foreword:I've never had a storage unit before, but Extra Space Storage has set the bar very high.Customer Service:Firstly I'd like to say Casey is awesome, super nice and friendly, yet very informative. She wasn't someone to tell you only what you wanted to hear just to mske a sale, she gave you it all (but in a very professional and respectful way).The Facility/Grounds:I was shown a brand new unit to rent, it was spotless from the floor to the ceiling. The whole facility is incredibly clean and well kept, you almost forget you're on the south-side of lansing LOL.Security:This place "feels" secure at least. They have security gates and cameras, it was daylight when I went but they had many light poles so I'd imagine at night it's well lit.Pricing:The pricing seemed fair, not cheap, and not over the top. You're definitely paying for what you get, clean facility, clean units, well kept grounds, and security. So I'm totally pleased with everything.

Sara Wells: Very pricey for an average sized storage unit, and it's infested with mice. My mother-in-law and I both had mouse droppings all over our stuff, and our books and other paper stuff were destroyed by the mice eating them. Not to mention they also false advertise. We signed up online which was supposed to be $67/month. It STILL says $67/month online. However, we are currently paying $140. Don't fall for it. Do not recommend. I am currently in the process of moving my stuff into a better, more reasonably priced unit in Delta Township.

Travis Gaines: Just signed my lease today, so I can’t speak to my long term experience with this business, but in the short term, I can say that Casey has been phenomenal. She’s proactively communicated with me throughout the process in a clear, courteous, and upfront manner. It appears she takes “ownership” of the property, its customers and their customer experience. Finally, I appreciate that I was able to remotely complete as much of the leasing process as I wanted to.

Devin Daniels: Just a heads up if you plan on using the storage unit, they won’t tell you, but every four months they will keep upping the rent and there’s nothing you can do about it considering they do month-to-month contracts. highly recommend you go with any other company. Now for the staff those guys are awesome, the company itself is garbage.

Moving interstate is not for sissies and these guys helped allay many of the worries associated with this. The facility is super clean and I loved that the moving truck pulls right up into the building to unload.

Amy Stanton: The units are nice. It is clean, and I never felt unsafe, even late at night. However, they increased the rent on my unit twice between March and October so that I was paying 70% more. It felt predatory. I get inflation, but not 70%. And they didn’t communicate the second increase. I am no longer renting a unit there because of this.** Edit: CubeSmart's response is great - but I am going to say this again. The price increase on my unit went up by 70% between March and October of this year. And saying that I should talk to someone is silly. I DID talk to someone in the office, after trying for two weeks to connect with someone and finally happening to catch them in the office when I started to empty the unit. Their response? Energy prices. Inflation. Etc. So again - I can read. Expecting reasonable price increases annually makes sense. But 70% over 6 months is not reasonable. That's predatory.

The only reason I moved out of my unit is because my living situation changed from what I thought it would be when I got the unit, and it was now too far away to be convenient.I had one of the 24 hour smaller units on the perimeter, and even though my unit wasn't inside the gates, I always knew my items were safe. Chris went out of his way to explain things thoroughly, and he is very helpful! He will go out of his way to have authentic conversations with you, and is a friendly face to have on site.

Rajan Dewar: This storage space experience was my best in the industry that I have encountered. This includes my storage experiences in CAlifornia, Massachusetts, Michigan and CT. First of all, the price - it is as transparent as possible. Yes they have the promotion but they explain upfront what and when the promotion ends and give you heads up when it expires so that you are not surprised. The intaking experience with Cassie was very nice and professional - no pressure. They offer a lock but also allow you to bring your own. No pressure whatsoever on using their products. And their products are not pricy - a coat hanging box was 14.99As I was closing out, again the experience with Carly, the manager was very pleasant. I was just a couple of days into my new month and she offered to give me a discount on what I owed, without my asking. Overall, this business is less greedy and more customer oriented. Place is clean - lots of Dollies. Lighting is good. They have spaces per your preference. Great experience.

Andrew Syrek: Storage Sense was a great place to keep my belongings for the last 5 years. It is a clean, well maintained facility with gated security that helped me have peace of mind that my stuff was safe. Jerry was very helpful anytime I had questions or concerns about my unit. Overall, would recommend using Storage Sense to keep your belongings.

Ray Hughes: This place is worthless and I am in the process of moving out. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I will never use their services again. They have 0 security [1 camera at front gate] and have left the gate open multiple times. I've been informed by Jerry who is very disrespectful that the gate has been struck by lightning multiple times now. I don't know why I don't believe him. Jerry has told me multiple times now they are installing more cameras and I have never seen it happen. They do a horrible job cleaning up snow when there is a lot of it. And the most recent thing is raising our cost to almost $300 after it was already over $250. Jerry informed that this wouldn't be an issue the first time and we've been with them for 3 years. They have never made any renovations or improvements that they say their going to make so I'm not sure what their doing with the money. Another issue for me is there is only access from 6 am to 10 pm and that has always been problematic for me and my wife because we work all different hours. If their staff was helpful and didn't keep trying to raise the price from our agreement I would probably consider staying but there are too many other issues for me. Also when they call about a late payment they are unsympathetic to another business owner waiting on late payments, I thought it ironic.
Allen Tipper: They made setting up my storage situation (renting a place to store a vehicle, rather than a normal storage unit) simple, during a time when everyone else in town was making it complex. The attendant who helped me through the paperwork was great, and all told, things simply went as they should be.

Cara Nader: I was a tenant here for many years and stored things for my business. I recently ended my lease due to a lack of need for the space.I only had one issue the whole time I was a tenant and the the site manager and district manager were quick to offer assistance and resolve the issue. Big shout out to the whole team there for talking through my issues and getting them resolved.

I also paid early and they charged me a late fee and when I called they said oh yea I see you did pay early and still continued to charge me more. I’ve rented now for 3 months and just got a new monthly amount of $50 more don’t rent from here.

Susan Mutz: The staff was great getting me set up for my unit. I reserved a 5 x 10, but after looking at it, I needed a larger one. The staff accommodated me with a 10 x 10 which was perfect.The only few negative things that I have: it would be nice if the units could have a light inside, and the driveways should be repaved. There were many potholes on my way back to the unit.One suggestion that I want to give that storage places could use, is to have a barcode or QR code that will allow you into the facility, instead of having to use the keypad. Just a thought.
