Hawk Island Park: what do users think?
Jay Angel: Awesome place to relax and chill. Could we replace the toilet paper in the ladies bathroom? Wife and daughter kind of needs it when using the bathroom.
Eli's_ BR549: Beautiful place to go fishing, walking, bike rides, swimming, splash pad, picnic.
Kaleen Paddock: The splash pad is always a blast to play at but over the years we have grown farther away from the beach part as i been playing at their beach since i was a kid and its definitely change not sure if its for the best or worse water when you walk the trail is very nasty. Park is very satisfying for my kids overall i would rate this beach 7/10
Lisa Van Curen: The paths are paved smooth. Very accessible for wheel chairs.Playground: One of the best in the area with a seasonal splash padRestrooms: CleanPicnic area: Numerous trees to sit under
Tahir Haddad: Amazing place for picnic 🙂
tony harris: Great place to relax love this park
Vicki Mwangi: SerenePicnic area: Very well maintained
Vinzon Lee: Nice park! Good scenery!
Michelle Mason: Beautiful park while visiting Lansing, Michigan. Has been trail and picnic area around a beautiful lake.Playground: Though on an early school day, I noticed a family on play ground/ picnic area and appeared to be preparing for a children's party.Restrooms: Certain bathrooms closed during off season.Picnic area: See above. Not sure about grilling
Carrie Hill: Just beautiful. Great for a picnic, walking, biking, etc.
Kate B: The splash pad is great! Need more shaded areas...
orphanedhanyou: Lovely park layout & nature but the front bathrooms are "closed for the season" in May? Taxpayers pay for entry to their own park for only one open bathroom (which had rusted and crumbling facilities)? On top of this several areas of the park had more litter than expected plus Sycamore Creek had multiple areas with downed trees & branches just piled with trapped trash. Hope a city clean up will get organized.
Deborah Moomaw: I used to take my family here years ago during the summer. We always had a good time. There are so many activities at the park: splash pad, swimming lake with row boats, fishing, sand volleyball and badminton net area, grassy area to fly a frisbee, and a wooden playground.Picnic area: Picnic tables around park, concession bar, some tables under umbrellas near splash pad.
Justice Team: Hawk Island is a Beautiful park and Soldan fenced dog park was great. Lakes and all! Jake had so much fun with the other dogs and splashing in the water! Thank you!
Cinnamon SpiceFox: Didn't catch any fish but it was a beautiful day
Kelly Krueger: Love this park!
Nolan Saros: Fun
Jane Ventsias: Great place to pretend you're not in the city. The dog park is amazing!
Bloomin in Kindness: My kids and I go on walks here all of the time. Can't wait for warmer weather so we can enjoy the beach.
Coqui Ta: Beautiful clean trails make a more enjoyable walk. I'm giving it 4 stars because their tubing reservations system leaves a lot to be desired, this time of year
KRISTEN L: Ran the pi day 5k here on Saturday. Nice little park. Trails were all clear except the boardwalk around the lake. Trails are very well marked. Actual rest rooms (so I don't know if they were just open for the race worth are open all year). Nice play equipment and plenty of parking

Matthew Ordiway: Still
Micaia M: This hill is my GO TO for sledding! It’s a huge steep hill right behind the tjmaxx, Michaels plaza. I haven’t gone in the summer in a while since I moved but I do remember it being beautiful in the summertime years ago as well.
brendan knoch: Bout as good as youd expect a city park to be
Aengus McIntosh: One of the finest skate parks in the area if not the nation. Time has worked it's magic and it needs some sprucing up!Playground: Yes Public restrooms: Yes Off-leash dog area: No Picnic tables: No Barbecue grills: No …More
Surprisarino Kripperino: It's raining heavy. I'm running fast to get out of the rain. There's a building just up ahead where I can take refuge. A dark figure seems to be in the doorway. I cant tell who it is. As I approach, I notice he has his head in his shirt as if he were hiding from the demons that tormented him. "Thank you for holding the door for me" the figure emerges from inside his shirt. Nick from sophomore year study hall shows his face. Out of sheer surprise and amazement I begin to cry. "Its okay, ive missed holding the door for you, dont cry my child. Nick lifts up his shirt and begins breastfeeding me as im crying. I'm so happy. Ive never stopped holding the door since :,)
Randy D White: Greatbplace to skateboard

Marie-Eve Lessard: Joli park d'une ampleur intéressante pour tous types de skateboardeurs
Julie “Jules” Lewis: My 8 & 10 year old great grandsons enjoy riding their scooters in the skate park. Lots of hills and valleys. There are skateboarders of all ages practicing their skills. Limited seating for bystanders, most in full sun. One set of chairs is in the shade. Definitely take something to drink.
Emily Cutchall: Lots of adults/college kids skating here.
steven adegboye: Sick park pretty much all vert so if that's you're thing this is the park for you

Jackson Buddingh: It's just a nice little park wedged in on the East side of Frandor. It has a skate park, a ball diamond with stands and scoreboard, squash, tennis, and some nice trees. There's a hill and unfinished area just to the north which is good for playing group based games during the day and stargazing at night.
Andrew M: Needs some TLC from the city of East Lansing (cement fixes)... Don't break glass bottles in a bowl. "Some peoples kids I swear".

Tyrus Gray: Playground: Yes Public restrooms: Yes Picnic tables: Yes Barbecue grills: YesMore
Scott Schmidtmann: Great walking / biking trail. Pickle ball courts are coming in the fall of 2023!
Erin: Killer sunset views ✨️ 😍
Sandra Vandergriff: Pretty place for family picnics and family time
Antoni Williams: Beautiful place to relax and meditate. Enjoy the trails. Walk with a friend or loved one.
Amy Ross: I will not go to any park that don’t allow dogs. My dogs are the reason I’m walking everyday.
Marcella Garza: Love taking my kids sledding here
Dr. Basheer Sufyan: So much fun sledding. Kids loved it
Leeanna Schramm: After moving back to Lansing I wanted to find a park close enough to me that had everything, a park for my kiddo, a trail walk for the family and a relaxing and nice setting/environment. My family and I got to the park and decided to walk the steps to the top of a hill. (There's a hill for sledding too). BONUS: This park had a ton of room for summer picnics, training, the park area for kids a trail for walking— which led to the kiddos park area. We loved the fact that they had a trail that led to another park that was maybe a 10 minute walk. Finding this park, was an absolute treat. 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
James: Brought my 12 yr old son up from Florida after the blizzard. He's never been sledding. We had so much fun. Thank you for building this place.
Moriah Bender: Fun sledding hill
Cirea Strode: This park is absolutely breathtaking. We have utilized this park in our family for many events, birthdays, gender reveals and most recently a memory lantern release. This park has great views, plenty of space, good parking and great trails. If you’re looking for an experience definitely come here. It’s always clean nice play ground area with swings for the children. Sunset is gorgeous here too! Great place for photography.
Carol (Nomadic Retiree): Love the trails - construction happening where in-line skate park was located - pickleball court coming by spring
Audrey: Great, paved winding path that weaves in and out of pretty secluded shaded woods. Some of the path is lit up by lamp posts which gives it a really cool effect at dusk. The curves make it very difficult to see if someone is around the corner, so you need to go slow on a bike. The path takes you to another park with a playground, wooded disc golf course, and baseball field. Good park for a workout. There's a spot for sprinting up and down a long set of wooden steps, a roller hockey rink, basketball hoops, and a pavillion.
Gary Weber: One of the cleanest as well as nicest parks around!Always nice to walk the trails or have your lunch!
James L: Playground: Said no dogs, but some were seen. As a dog lover I was glad to see that.
Chris Huttenlocker: Restrooms: Not every walk has restrooms. Granger'sIs the best place to walk with wide walk and restrooms. We drive 30 minutes toWalk .
Robert Piesz: Beautiful paved trails and amazing scenery!
Daniel McPherson: It’s one of if not thee favorite places close to my home, it’s just a piece of Heaven to me I really enjoy having such a wonder land in my backyard basically I live 1/3 of a mile away and I enjoy the peace of mind this place offer’s me. Thank Granger for putting this Park up for the community to enjoy…
James Spaulding: Great space for walking on the trails, gatherings under the Pavillions, and for kids to play.

Burchfield Park: what do users think?
nader soltani: It's was great
Jen LoTempio: The number of mosquitoes makes the time spent there miserable, even with bug spray.
Tim Buckley: Favorite park in the Lansing area! This park is a true gem. With the addition of the new bicycle playground/skills park, 17 miles of hiking/biking trails combined, two championship disc golf courses, canoeing, and kayaking on the Grand River, shelters, swimming, clean bathrooms, and lots of green space to relax and enjoy nature, there is something for everyone of all ages. Cabin rentals are coming soon, too! Ingham County Parks staff does a phenomenal job taking care of all their parks.
Marc-Grégor Campredon: This is an amazing place - The trails are very nice, divers, well marked, there are way more than enough maps.It would take a lot's of effort to get lost - That for sure. All the trails are well maintained, any blockage is indicated ahead giving you alternatives roads. The trails are massively interconnected, so you can decide on many different lenght, and if you change your mind or if the weather change, you can easily take a short cut and return back to the entrance.Lastly ... the Biking part - OMG - This is one of the most amazing place ever, so many level of technicality making it perfect for kids and less experienced bikers - But with enough to please the most hardcore. This park is just ... Excuse me - This park should be used in Park School as a perfect example of the perfect park! It is AMAAAAAAZIINNG and guess what? They do have geocaches.
Kevin Lick, MBA: Awesome
Island Ewert: Love the trails for riding bikes or just taking a lovely stroll by the river.
RL: Sledding, mountain biking, hiking… Great fun! Well-maintained, and consistently upgraded.
Ashok Rangan: Well organised place for outdoor skiing, sledging and tobagoning activities. Three slopes of different steepness is available, all of them child friendly. Plenty of parking, clean washrooms and clear signages.
Artena Dexter: Great park; something for everyone.
Charles Poe: Only been here to play disc golf, but it's always a great time. It's always clean and well kept. No complaints at all.
Maria Willoughby-Byrwa: Stumbled upon this place after hearing locals talk about it. Great snow tubing fun for the whole family, small sledding hills for littles, a warming fire pit, concessions and VERY clean bathrooms!
David Knoblauch: Nice place to go sledding. The fire pit is a great place to warm up and the building with the bathrooms are open.
Susan Rieske: Been bringing kids and grandkids here for years. The park has a lot to offer in all the seasons. A nice shaded swimming beach with life guard and restroom. Great for walks in the woods with scenic river overlooks. Sledding, tubing and tobogganing. Disc golf course. Rental canoes and kayaks. Cross country ski rental. Several pavilions for rental. A large playground near the picnic area. Mountain bike trails for beginners and experienced bikers.
Jason Bristow: Great place to take the kids mountain biking. Lots of trail options for every ability level. Easy parking.
H Christiansen: Beautiful walk by the river
Craig Johnson: Cool twisty old school MTB trails.
Gwen Henry: Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1gmail Act: Cool river bank, old cars and nature scenic MTB trails. The snake part of the MTB trail is very unique and you literally go round and round in an intricate labriyth on this part of the trail. It's easy 2 get misplaced on these trails so pay attention to the trail map and # system. B+
Andy Crow: One of the best county parks you will find anywhere. Mountain biking, hiking, running, disk golf, sledding, cross country skiing, canoe and kayak rentals, beach, playground, volleyball, pavilions and the list goes on.
Tim Burnham: Love it. Great course for all levels. There are long and short tees and long and short baskets. Rivers edge is very difficult with no short options. You should be experienced to play that course.
Benjamin Lack: Fishing wasn't as good as I thought but I went when it wasn't the best of times so I'll give it another chance

Lansing Parks & Recreation: what do users think?
Steve Rogers: Friendly staff
James Hunzicker: Maybe unlock some bathrooms at your parks so people aren't soiling them with human waste matter???Also, it is June. How about turning on some water fountains???
Bloomin in Kindness: My kids have some wonderful experiences through the many programs that are offered.
ttall yar: Lots of activities. Friendly staff!
Jennifer Bingham: My kids went to camp here for a couple weeks and then my son got booted for “behavior issues”.My son is on the autism spectrum which was notified to them upfront and in person. They chose to kick him out of camp at the end of a tues and not allow him back for some behavior issues. Understandable if they can’t train their staff well enough to handle all kids. They would not respond to emails from me or my husband or answer the phone for the person I was directed to about getting a refund. So they kept a full weeks fee for camp and after care for both my children when they wouldn’t allow them back. Both kids were super disappointed and heart broken. I had to find last min child care and miss work due to not being able to find anything. My daughter couldn’t go back because I couldn’t take them to separate child care. They also talked negative about my son right in front of him and expected my daughter to have intervened with the behaviors and referred to her just sitting there. She’s 7! We had just moved to Michigan and this is the first impressions we got. Sad that other children who were causing issues and biting were allowed to still come but not my son for his issues.
Virginia Workman: Kids had a blast very clean and in a good neighborhood
Melynda Christle: Thelma is a front line worker, working hard to get our school children fed.. She is an amazing lady..
Jesus Saves: BEWARE! Teachers at "Homeschool Days at Foster" are malicious. Gossiping about your kids being your backs, including confidential information. Untrained staff provides subpar instruction to kids and usually have no clue how to manage kids, particularly quirky ones. Programming is what you would expect from a city that doesn't invest dollars into facilities nor communities. Teachers and staff do not communicate effectively to parents.
Sean Eman: Lame
Joe Nehls: Great park but they won't let you bury your pets there so don't even try.
James: Clean building, friendly and helpful staff.
Parabola “Fuk Sheet Up” 100: The TV show is pretty good
Lauren Clarke: Belly dance classes with Garnett are amazing! The opportunity to learn with a professional who has performed and taught all over the United States is priceless! Lots of fun too!
Melanie Rogers: I have enjoyed taking classes through Lansing Parks and Rec since 2000.
Demphna Krikorian: Love the River Trail
Randy Barton: We have had a great experience with the Park's and Rec sports.

Holly Thomas: Great place to sit for lunch!.They have trails and a lot of area to bring the kids or dogsRestrooms: Restrooms are now closed for winter
AUTUMN RYBOLT: My son had fun running xc there thanks for letting us run there

Lance Davis: New Chainstar Pro baskets on the disc golf course were a much needed upgrade
Keith Tarrow: Disc golf has new baskets
Chris M: Grand woods is where I started playing and played for many years. Its a decent course that's pretty challenging (for me) with lots of water. Lost hundreds dollars worth of discs here over the years. Came back this year after not playing it in nearly 10 years and its been upgraded a bit, definitely the baskets, theyre super nice
Mike G: Restrooms: Let's just say the restrooms could use some attention
Goldy Justyn: Park attendants take good care of the park and changes the trash often. Greatly appreciated.

Lake Lansing Park North: what do users think?
Janet Lower: Great Disc golf. Couldn't play yesterday due to event at the park. Just too crowded but this is an anomaly. Usually quite quiet. Very relaxing.
Heather Field: Beautiful park with trails to walk. Lots of shade
Island Ewert: Perfect for a leisurely walk in any season!
Diane: Beautiful, tranquil place to walk. There are lots of roots and it is muddy after rain. Lots of improvements taking place this summer to comply with the ADA. I'm disappointed to see that an electronic gate is going to be installed.
Robert Lawrence: Fun pitch and put short course. Beginners to slightly advanced lines.
dawn ridge: There are nice hiking trails here. It's a mix of woods and swamp land.Playground: Small jungle gym and swing set.Restrooms: Restrooms are cleanDog-friendliness: I seen many dogs on the trailPicnic area: There is an area with grills and tables
Nathan Wilkie: The park opens shortly before sunset and closes slightly after sunset. The park offers a variety of services including disc golf, shelter rentals (3), hiking trails, a baseball diamond, and a playground. The disc golf course is 18 holes but they are all relatively short par 3. The hiking trails have some variety with the red trail being the shortest and the blue trail being the longest. My personal favorite trail is the orange trail which splits off from the green blue trail.I work here, regularly closing the park. Occasionally there are ruts that form at the entry which are graded regularly but do be cautious as you enter. The springtime offers a look at many nesting birds such as Sand Hill Cranes and Canadian Geese. The sunset over the marsh from just west of the main shelter is perhaps the best view of the sunset in the area. The restrooms are closed for a portion of the year due to freezing conditions and take some time to be un-winterized.There are 2 fire pits near the main shelter with ample firewood provided.Picnic area: There are 3 picnic locations. The main shelter, Oak Knoll, and Sand Hill. The main shelter is the largest space with many picnic tables provided. Oak Knoll and Sand hill are roughly half the size of the main shelter. Oak Knoll is slightly more out of the way than Sand Hill, and is at the end of the blue/green trail. Sand Hill is closer to the entry for the trails and the playground.
Austin Alexander: Cool disc golf course, a good way to spend an afternoon. You may have to pay for parking and to play DG
Richard Hill-Rowley: Beautiful sunny day. The blue loop is about three and a half miles. Varied trails through the woods
Gary: Nice course
James Jenks: The new disc golf course is amazing. Great addition to the park.
Doug Prizer: Very nice new Disc Golf course.
Jennifer Ferenc: Wonderful place to relax and take in nature.Playground: Wooden playground with slides great condition 😀Restrooms: CleanPicnic area: Several picnic areas
Leyton Macleod: Nice service
Jase Arz: New disc course in Lansing
Dorian: They've recently done a lot of work out here
M G (mngrif): A well kept and well loved park with a variety of easy trails to explore.
Geoff Charbeneau: First time at the park. The trail was a nice walk, however the trail system is completely confusing. As you travel there are not any mile markers to give you an idea of where you are and how far back to where you came from. We were supposed to be on a loop. Ended coming out in an adjacent subdivision. Not a great experience considering we thought we were lost the entire time. Other than that, small snakes everywhere. Not sure if that is normal.
Catherine Nicholas: Love that they paint roots pink so they are visible! Clean restrooms
Christine Aiello: I'd give this park a better rating if it weren't for the appallingly bad or just plain absent maps/trail guidance. My husband and I rarely come here and today I was reminded why: You can easily end up lost and walking muuuuch farther than you intended. The only trail map, (a sad and abused thing situated at a key intersection faaaaar up the trail, where you've begun to wonder how much longer you can hold your bladder), doesn't even identify your location (...just try interpreting a trail map without that little detail). I'm sure park funds are tight, but how much would it cost to paint "you are here" on the dang map?
John Hopkins: The main pavilion had fire pits with stocked witch I thought was pretty nice

William Thorsson: A wonderful place to picnic for an afternoon.
Robert Holmes: Very nice county park. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills. A bandshell, performances Fridays at 7 during the summer.

Just clean up after and pups may go unnoticed!
Dan Slater: This was the best day of 2022, the president of the company I work for too all my co-workers and I to the lake and went tubing. It was the most fun I had had since I had been in recovery. It was a special day because everyone that I work with was here and I can’t say in words how important each person I work with is to me. Lake Lansing is an awesome place to hangout with family and friends and go tubing.
M Nasser: Very nice park and lake. It was beautiful in the summer as well in the winter. But it was very cold and lake is frozen.
Brandon Miller: Great family spot or just to take a walk enjoying the views of lake Lansing. They offer rentals. this park was also the site of a former amusement park.
Bill Rouse: Very nice park. We rented the lake view pavilion for a company BBQ and it was perfect. Near the lake and not far from nature trails. Was a great park and we willcbe back. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is they have signs posted that your not allowed to bring your pets and I didn't know that beforehand so my dog had to stay in the truck the whole time.Dog-friendliness: Signs said no pets
Nick Shorkey: Great place for families. Pavilions, beach area, play area, anough room to spread out and relax. Great views and very friendly.
Michael Spalding: Nice place for a family or organizational mandatory fun day!
Jacob Sackleh: Enjoyed this place quite a bit but was confused by the blocking off of certain sections of the play structure. Really nice area and I love that it's by the water.
Sonia Campos: It's so pretty and there is something about the water and smelling it, hearing it and looking at it. I go there quite often. To gather my thoughts
Lanah Bogard: We had a great time, family reunion in the Pavillion. Wonderful park with alot of annemnities. Highly recommended
Anthony Johnson: I didn't know lake Lansing dog friendly I didn't know you can bring your dogs into lake Lansing
Cathy Isaac: Restrooms: Adequate flush toilets. Clean. Signs to ensure that you know where your dogs are allowed. Large picnic area with tables and grill. Wonderful water. Very pretty place. Fishing I believe cause I seen people fishing off walkway dock. $3.00 day use.

Dan Williams: No longer has an ice rink, ok kids playground but not as good as others in the area. The City of Lansing could do better improving this park especially due to its location as it would serve lots of underprivileged families on the south side.

Brandon Whaley: Great place to get a little bit of peace and quiet. Great place for some R & R

Aengus McIntosh: Went to a Haslett High School graduation. It was a awesome place to have a party!
Michael Switzer: This is a nice little roadside park with good facilities.
Chris S: Well maintained park that is at its best in the winter. That hill! The hill is already great to walk or run up during good weather, but in the winter it's a wonderful, fast, free hill. This was improved recently by the park's having a free sled library installed. This means everyone has an opportunity to take advantage of the hill. What's not so great is the small play structure. Kids may quickly lose interest as there isn't much to it. Fortunately there are trails to walk after kids lose interest, but a heavy rain can swiftly ruin those for days. Now, visiting after the winter, I must share that the trails are fine in the winter, terribly wet in the early spring, and don't get better until mid-June.
Peter Power: good place to play soccer in the summer
Pete Zamora: Nice facility! They mow their grass on soccer field! 👍
Kittie Butcher: Lovely park
Brandon Piercefield: Great wide open park with plenty of parking and public restrooms. Went during winter for the first time for me and my kids to sled down the hill. Didn't turn out well for us but my kids are a bit too young for such a hill and it was frozen into mostly ice. I should have known better but gave her a shot anyway. Grounds are maintained very well as far as I can tell like every park we go to in okemos. 5 star rating can't penalize a rating for my own experience due to my own negligence.
Shannon Schmoll: Great small park with a big pavilion. The best part though is the hill. It's perfect for good fast sledding in the winter and rolling in the summer.
Brook Lujan: Very nicely kept: grounds, bathrooms, etc. Pretty. Many fun areas for kids, including a fun big sledding hill.
Steve Ayotte: Nice soccer field
Greg Ann: Nice park with bathrooms, picnic area and.childrens playground.Small parking area. It has a sledding hill and 2 soccer fields. Soccer fields could use being smoothed out, has uneven ground and a few deep spots.
Justine Friedman: I wish they sprayed for mosquitos, the swarms are insane, but otherwise we love it.
Laura W: Great place for an open house for an amazing young man!
Todd Vander Galien: Great place for sledding
Matthew B: This is a really nice, peaceful & relaxing park, that offers a variety of hiking trails, a soccer field, playground, and quite possibly the best Winter sledding hill in the area. It basically offers a great variety of outdoor activities for everyone- and a convenient, clean restroom, as a bonus.👍
Erik Palmer: Has a steep hill for sledding and a playground. I can be with my youngest on the playground and still see my oldest while he sleds down the hill. It also has heated bathrooms. I've only been here in the winter.
Aubrey Kindy: Nice hill to sled down 😍😍
