Nina Foster: Great food, even better service. Very welcoming staff.
Joseph Kampf: Amazing and worth it!!
Lexx Lee: Delicious hot pot! Wonderful experience
Curtis Schultz: Love this place
Jay H: Fantastic service and food. We did a deal for 3/$36, a single hot pot, bunch of appetizers, and my favorite dessert (sesame balls). Nothing like a family run business that'll fill your belly like a good mom/grandma and you'll feel just as welcome here.Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
J C: Place friendly and clean. I didn't know what to eat, so the waiter recommend me some kind of pork with vegetable and it was too greasy and way too salty!
David Beek: Was excited to try this place. Extremely disappointed. After waiting 40 minutes for a simple beef soup I left. It was a quiet Wednesday night. Their electronic menus are cumbersome at best! I witnessed workers preparing meals and eating food at the same time.
Tyler Purcell: Best place to get Hot Pot! The staff is always friendly, and fast. Love the vibe of this place. Beginning to feel like a 2nd home to my girlfriend and I, seeing as we’re in here once a week at least, ha!Would give more than 5 stars if possible!
mike martinez: Delicious hot potMe and my wife enjoy coming here very often i get the veggie hot pot and her the seafood hot pot its so good especially on a cold day and their crab ragoons are delicious as well!
Nova Harahap: Our first time dining in boiling pots, and it was good! Husband orders spicy beef, and I ordered build your own Mala pot, which is very spicy. We both loved our order, and we will be back!Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Ama N.: Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in East Lansing. Obsessed with the Spicy Boiled Fish. It’s got great flavor and just enough heat that even a spice addict like me can enjoy.Recommended dishes Spring Rolls, Seafood …More
Sylvia Lin: Came here twice with lunch and dinner. Lunch has a good deal and reasonable for dinning for one. With the dinner, we ordered 2 hot pots, with Japanese Miso with squid ($13.95 + $3.95) and Lamb Special with taro ($13.95+ $2.50), but the soup flavor is so similar that make it pretty boring to have to finish both. Also order fried tofu, which is the worse tofu dish I ever had; it's very tough and flavorless even when dig in the sauce. The Pork Belly Buns ($6.95) is good but portion very small (one bit size); cannot tell from the picture. Taiwanese Sausage on Rice ($14.95) was the best dish we had and both adults and kids can agree on that.
Emma Graham: Will definitely be coming back! The staff is so kind and the food was delicious! It was a great value and they had good vegetarian options. The owner is so friendly and every interaction with the staff was positive! Love the crème brûlée bubble tea!

Jakup Abedin: This place sucks. Inside looks old, service wasn't great and food was mediocre. I went to the bathroom, and the lock is all messed up. I eat Chinese food frequently, and I just wasn't a fan of this place. I had Mongolian beef, and the beef could have been more tender and flavorful - they definitely used old sauce. I myself have made this dish better. Do I expect restaurants to go out the way and grill my meat, add chinese wine, and red chili peppers like in North China? No, but make it make sense. Get better, please.P.S. I added my dish a few years back. My wife's family absolutely tore it up.

Chef Gong Chinese Restaurant: what do users think?
B B: Food is priced well for the quantity and quality. Service is awesome. You will not get authentic Northern Chinese cuisine like this often so give it a try and enjoy!

erica cooper: 1. If you are typical Michigander and don't eat spicy things, make sure you look at the beautiful pictures accompanying the menu items and choose something that doesn't have chilies...2. Customer service was wonderful. Our server was very helpful and took good care of us. It is my belief that when Americans rate Chinese restaurant poorly based on customer service, it is actually cultural differences.3. Our meal was so delicious. The portion sizes were very large. We ordered the crispy chili chicken to share between my husband and me, and the portion was probably for a party of at least four people. The prices are high because the portions are large. great for a group of people, or great for people who love to have leftovers- update: we made our leftovers onto meals that lasted 3 days. It was very spicy, just the way we love it and can never find in this area. We also ordered the stir fry eggplant and it was one of the most delicious things ever.4. We can't wait to come back, bringing friends.
Adriana Liu: Authentic Chinese food, delicious , so fresh, large portions, looks beautiful too😻 that’s only want to come back
Annis Hapkiewicz: Food was so spicy we could not eat more than a few bites. I had a heaping pile of red peppers after trying to separate the spices from my shrimp. The shrimp were small and appeared to be farm raised. Meal was overpriced.
Wendy Guo: A cup of soy milk from Phoenix Bean House is said to be soy milk, but they are selling it openly and secretly. There is no drink menu, and the price is unknown. At the checkout, 950 ml of so-called soy milk (actually soy milk
__: Good: authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine. Delicious. Large Portion. NOT the typical American Chinese stuffs.Bad: authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine. Unmodified oily and salty. Expensive due to the large portion. NOT the two-dollar sign. Should be the three-dollar sign. Don't expect typical American Chinese stuff.
Coqui Ta: The food is amazing!!! The service is outstanding! Each customer is treated like they're the only one in the restaurant.Vegetarian options: Lots of delicious vegetarian options
Forrest Herald: Took my friend here for her birthday. We got Spicy cold noodles, Dry pot chicken, and yushuan eggplant w tofu, all were excellent. The spicy cold noodles looked very different in person than they did in the menu, but they were fantastic. I wasn't expecting the bones in the chicken, but they didn't detract from the amazing flavor of the dish, just forced me to exercise some caution while enjoying it. The tofu was amazing! Well sauced, crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. We finished the cold noodles, and brought home as much of the other two as we ate at the restaurant. Will certainly be returning to sample other items from the menu

Clifford Walls: First time in and it won't be the last. Incredible meal and a cool vibe. I want to try everything else on the menu but it'll be hard to avoid ordering the Old Mother Pork Belly and Chef Gong's noodles everytime I go back. They were just so good.

Willow Richmond: Food is authentic and the staff was very nice. We thought the prices were kind of high until we saw the portions. One order of soup was enough for 4 people. Then the waiter told us it would have been larger for a larger party for the same price. The decor is very nice, too. I consider this a fine dining place.
Matthew McDaniel: Honestly, this place is fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food is off the charts delicious and authentic. Any reviews that seem to be painting a different story are extremely off. This is probably one of the most authentic hot pot places in all of Lansing. Definitely the most tasty in all of Lansing. High praise, but it's true. Go with friends or family, and enjoy your time there. The service was great when we went in on my birthday. Staff was polite and helped with the meal choice. Also, when you go in, be respectful. They're sharing amazing food, so there isn't a point to being a jerk.
Elizabeth McDaniel: My new favorite place for Chinese food! Very authentic and delicious.
Anna Baker: Amazing flavors and so fresh, you can tell the staff and owner knows what they're doing and cares about the quality of dishes and service. We visited last night and I'm still thinking about the crispy noodles and dumplings.
Haley Burt: Perfect spot for a date night with that special someone. Food is definitely worth the price. When you can hear them chopping in the back, you know that your food is going to be fresh! Also a very relaxing atmosphere.

I really liked the taro crepe cake and the Japanese cheesecake, and while I didn't love the durian milk pudding, I was excited for the opportunity to try durian for the first time. Jeffrey W: Asia's Worst! I went in to order 2 lunches. Ordered Chicken Cashew and decided on General Tso for the second. Lady at counter asked me "cash or card"? I replied "does it make a difference?". First she said no, then she said just a "little bit". Very vague answers AND NEVER TOLD ME THE TOTAL! (But I knew it would be approx $20 with 2 x 9.49 lunches). So I asked if a $100 bill was okay and she said yes. Here's the second problem, she struggled for several minutes trying to figure out the change! Again she never told me a total nor did I see it on the register. After the few minutes of struggling she handed me $79.85 back (close). I sat and waited for my lunches, and my order came up quickly. I left and drove home. Got home and realized that I had only ONE LUNCH! Okay very inconvenient mistake right? NO, I call up to say I never got my chicken cashew and the lady starts arguing with me. Saying I only ordered one and apparently I only paid for one.....this discussion progresses into YELLING in broken English until she hangs up on me! With her lack of math skills, English skills and people skills she should have just listened for a moment to the customer. And since I was so upset after being yelled at and hung up on by a @x!@ that was 1000% wrong, I ACTUALLY drove back to the restaurant. Walked in and she was still a 'B' to me but at least not yelling and asked if I wanted my General Tso (wrong again missing Cashew) but I told her I wanted my money and had no interest in patronizing her restaurant! She must have figured out that she was wrong after she HUNG UP on me, and did hastily give back $10 to me WITHOUT ANY APOLOGY.

Decent prices, clean restrooms, enough seating, waitress was friendly and accommodating. Not the best or the worst food, but, I’ve had much better from “fast food” or hole in the wall Chinese restaurants. The customer service takes it from 2 to 3 stars.
