St Vincent de Paul Society and Thrift Store: what do users think?
Mary Ellen Lowe: My favorite thrift store. Something for everyone.
T Lammers: Very convenient & helpful as I'm able to drive to the donation door, ring a bell and they help unload my car.Very efficient!
Kimberly Lavon: This particular location regularly sells all the random items I’m in need of like office supplies, decor, and more. Absolutely love this spot!
Billi Jo Lear Thrasher: After witnessing a Full uniform Military man from Texas(my daughter thanked him for his service) get denied to try on a pair of pants for a funeral, I will never step into this store again. "Policy" in your Bible, must be all about the DOLLAR instead of mine being FAITH, LOVE, AND HOPE. Way to show a person who's service keeps your business and employees FREE.
Nola Warner: The store is kept clean and tidy. The front sales area has a great display of antiques and glassware. A good selection of clothing and household goods. Staff here are helpful and kind.
Mischa Sawyer: closed on Wed Feb 22, despite hours showing as open m-sat online
Sydney Sharpe: I’ve been here twice now. The store is clean and organized and has a great selection, however I’ve had some unpleasant staff interactions. The first time I went, starting at 45 minutes before close, every 5 minutes there would be an excessively rude closing announcement that really ruined the experience. The second time I went, a women was attempting to steal a bag of items (which I don’t think is okay), and a male employee yelled at and and grabbed the women, yanking her bag away from her. When they went through her bag, it was necessities such as underwear. I feel this was handled very inappropriately and it was very upsetting to watch, due to this I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I don’t want to support a business that treats people this way. I’ve done my time working in retail and I would NEVER put my hands on someone like that, even if they were stealing.
AmarieB Lansing: The staff is the best especially Andrea!
Samantha Kobe: Always find amazing goodies here!
Carey: Really felt like an upscale place. Many Beautiful items are available!!!! You could HONESTLY spend your WHOLE CHECK IN HERE!!! MY GORGEOUS SONS!!
Sylvia Boyd: Nice Friendly Service 👍🏾
John Mann: I work here at St Vincent de Paul great people to work with wonderful staff wonderful customers amazing place to work and serve those in need I love my job Happy New Year to all
Debra Kipper: Real nice people very helpful .
Mike P: So watched all employees buy cart loads .. your donations go to their store employees.. dont give here sad i lost faith in the lord know because of this. The management buys piles too stay away
Jacqueline A: I love this location. They are always very busy and usually have a line - but I think it's worth it. I definitely will be back soon. I found an awesome butter cutter and my hubs got a cute bobble head!
Kristen Reese: It's one of my favorite thrift stores. Great selection of clothes, dvds, books, and knickknacks. Has furniture, although typically older styles and somewhat pricey. Prices are better than Goodwill. The staff is nice and the store is clean and well kept. They also have a supply of used medical equipment (wheelchairs, crutches, etc.) they lend at no cost.
Laurie Dennis: Been shopping there for years. They also help people!
D Rh: Good variety of items!
Lindsay Kathleen: Shopped here for the first time last week. I was so pleasantly surprised! Clean, well-organized, and the hard goods area in front was so beautifully displayed! By far the best display I've seen in a thrift store (something I'd expect from a consignment shop perhaps). Staff was pleasant and the prices were very reasonable.Cons: Some clothing racks have too much on them which makes it hard to look through them, and there are NO FITTING ROOMS. This means I will probably not purchase clothing here, since I don't want to have to buy it and take it home to try it on. That made me sad because there were many beautiful clothing items I'd picked out before realizing there was no way to tell whether they'd fit me. I put all but one back.
Madelynn Preston: Used to love this place, but thanks to their anti-abortion signs out front I won't be coming back.
Linda Tupper: It was just ok.

Lansing FREE & Cheap Store - Thrift Store: what do users think?
Megan Shattuck: What a great find! Almost didn't stop in because we didnt have any trunk space. So glad we did. I can only imagine the things I've missed out on not coming here sooner. Hard working and friendly couple
Betty nostrant: this place is amazing!!! It is like being able to go to a year round yard sale with great prices and friendly staff.
Tara Parr: Great place to check out if you can get there while they are open.
Ashley lee caudill: The greatest place to shop for free and cheap stuff suggest you stop by on South Pennsylvania by jolly. - they went out of business
Rowena Black-Blade: Oof, bad vibes right away. The free section was years old expired food and less than a dozen poor condition books. They wanted $80 for a couch in terrible condition. Very little free, literally nothing was cheap. Just keep driving there’s plenty of other thrift stores.
Jay Jay: Great people and yes there is a free section, but items not last for even hours I spent thousands of dollars on buying good stuff in this store for cheap and resale for good money, thank you
linda hamilton: This place is a godsend. I have purchased for myself and for unfortunate people down on their luck. You can find just about anything there ad things change almost daily. They are the most wonderful and helpful people you will come across. I guess once a week as you just don’t know what’s there next. You can even call and purchase over the phone and you have a week to pickup. It just doesn’t get any easier. They do not accept drop off items. When they are tryouts no to help others they ask for non perishable items.
Rachel Elliott: Love this place!
Emma Davis: Nothing about this store is free or cheap. They have used clothing tagged for $150 and are asking for donations when you walk in. Crazy.
chase pinckney: This place is not cheap everything is outrageous
Eva Sampson: Great finds and awesome people who work the store.
Anna Murray: love this place. they are so friendly and make you feel welcomed
Diane Gee: Actually drove almost an hour to visit this store. If I lived closer I might stop again but definitely not worth the travel time. Prices were quite high for the type of items that we found there.
Beth Williams: Very nice little store, everything well organized and clean. Staff were very polite and helpful. ☺️
Debra Kipper: Real clean and nice people .
Mark Ceasar: Lots of good deals. U can find many things ur looking for if u go there periodically. 50% off sales.Good clean mattresses.
Mary Dutt: Littlebit of everything at low prices
Herbert Seymour: Bought a dresser there people were very friendly and helpful.
Tina Welch: Helpful, Courteous..I got what I came for!
Terry Wampler: I always find something I like.
Pamela Hunter: The free part of store is an aisle to right in side store. Clothing, curtains, jars, clothing, paint. Then there is 5 aisles of household appliances, fine condition textiles, radios, tv, exercise equipment, furniture. There are frequent 50% days, and some best offer. These are clean out houses goods. Well worth the trouble to take a look. Staff uber pleasant.

Volunteers of America: what do users think?
Sasin Sam: Have gotten some great deals here and the staff are really top-notch. Also, their disinfectant / washing materials are not as overpowering as Goodwill, in my opinion. Two thumbs up
Shannon Shassberger: Nice big store with great prices and selection. Organization of items is pretty good, some areas are better than others.
Randy Thomas: Love the venture!!
Kaitlyn Ziebell: My favorite thrift shop to go to when I’m in town. Great prices and great assortment
Sirius Aldrich Surratt: I love the thrift store. . you can find great deals on retail . Items from clothing , household furniture, women's ,men's ,children's clothes & toys . A little something for everyone. . the inventory is always changing keeps things exciting fresh ,new .. the staff is always friendly & professional. I enjoy spending time unwinding. Looking for bargains .also the end of the month . Half off Tuesday. I highly recommend looking here first.. I do. They also accept donations. The dock workers are always glad to assist you.. handicap accessible.
Dean Sanor: Volunteers of America has such a huge selection of just about anything from adult and kids clothing and to ovens and futons! It's even got a separate linen room for all your needs.
Traci Collis: I enjoy shopping here until it turns close to closing time. I always hear over the loud speaker when your closing. I have a phone, so I do know the time. I find it very rude, and uncomfortable when employees start chasing people down in the store around 6:40. Im spending my money at your store! You all work until 7 or when the customers are all checked out. Find a new job if you hate yours! Otherwise treat your customers with kindness please.
Michele Goodyear: They have a large assortment of clothing.
Jaydin Swix: Lots of everything
David Billings: Was donating a TV and called to ensure they would take it. I specifically asked if they didnt accept any type of TV and they said no they take all of them. I loaded up my TV by myself and drove 10 minutes up there for them to tell me that I was lying and that no one said that and they would not accept it. Absolute waste of time and very disrespectful for a donating place. Never again.
AmarieB Lansing: Parking lot too far for disabled people. Over priced. You can buy new stuff cheaper and I bought a bag of Christmas ornaments. More than half were broken the other half had no way to hang them up so i just laid them on the branches :). The clothes are always dirty and the furniture disgusting. I got cut on a purse staple and they have no way for disabled people to get around their stores.
Candi Megumi: Great selection and reasonable prices! The cashier Britteny (probably recalling it wrong, but it was a semi-unique spelling of Brittany) was an absolute gem
Susan Olson: They are courteous and nice 👍
Jacqueline A: Nice assortment of clothing. Lots of different options. The store was pretty clean and the staff was friendly. I didn't buy anything - but I would definitely come back to see what they have in stock next time I'm in town.
Nitro Nikki: Found some decent items & the staff was very cordial. My mom & I BOTH left our phone in the store & BOTH phones were waiting for us at the office! There’s nothing better than honest people.
Burrell Mcgee.: Love it
Matthew Fryover: It's a great place to shop and your helping veterans at the same time, it's a win win situation
Katty De Leon: Not the thrift shop you would find in new York. But good prices. Nice things if you have time to look for.
Janice Fry: I didn't go there
Debra Kipper: Nice people. Clean place

Goodwill: what do users think?
Shannon Shassberger: Larger store with a good selection. The prices are higher and very different for similar items. Not the best thrift store for bargains in the area.
Paul Veselovsky: Used to be a great place to shop but lately the prices have shot up to new retail or just below. Not sure who is responsible for this change in policy but perhaps someone should explain the them what "Thrift" means as they don't seem to know. Better perhaps they find an industry to suit them better. Selling timeshares or dodgy mobile phone contracts maybe.
Logan Murphy: With their sky high prices you’d think they’d be able to afford to not have a run down building.
Terrance Cox: Great local Goodwill. Melvin was there at checkout which was delightful. We talked about a manual typewriter that lady in front of me had purchased. He was amazed. LolGood conversation. Clean and organized well. Found just what I needed. A great goto Goodwill. Tks
Ivy Herron: Editing again 9 months later- prices ridiculous and laughable at this point. $30 for a Victoria’s Secret purse? $40 for a set of glasses? Even if items are worth more, goodwill is receiving them as DONATIONS. The price gouging is so bad that I typically walk out without spending anything because I’m not willing to spend retail prices at the secondhand store. Shameful, they exist as a resource for people with lower income yet have priced those exact demographics out of the store. 😡😡😡😡😡😡Editing my review to reflect the fact that prices have gone up even more. The items received by the store are completely free for them. I’ve left empty handed lately since I’m not willing to pay exorbitant prices for used items. The Volunteers of America thrift stores are far more reasonably priced.Used to love this store, but lately I’ve noticed prices of things have shot up. Not sure why but I left without the 2 or 3 small items I liked because I didn’t want to spend $20 on them. Probably won’t be back for awhile.
Jase Arz: Everything is over priced...
Athena DeNio: The people are very nice and the store is clean. However, the prices are outrageous. You can buy cheaper and brand new clothing at Target and WalMart. We were in town visiting a friend. The airline had lost my luggage, so I thought I’d buy a few pairs of pants here. At other locations I pay between $4-$6 for a pair of jeans. I found a pair here and was shocked that it is $19.99 for a used, very worn pair of jeans. The other pair I looked at was $12.99. This is outrageous for a thrift store!! I went to Target then WalMart and bought pants there for $9.99 and $11.99 respectively and they are brand new! I do not recommend Goodwill stores in Mid-Michigan!
Zayda Kruger: Manager a little rude and prices have gone up. Able to find great things and overall an okay store.
Paige F: Great deal on a side table! This is always a good location for clothes too
Ken Clark: Great prices
Jacqueline A: Awesome location. Nice assortment of everything. We don't stop in very often - but I'm impressed every time that we do. The line moved fairly quickly and they had a nice assortment of home decor. We'll be back soon!
Nayeli Carvajal Acosta: Been buying a few things here and there, like lamps, decorative pillows. Haven’t found much furniture, except for an overpriced desk.Sadly, most thrift stores in Lansing are not great, both in pricing and things you can find. So giving it a 3 stars.
Allison Blackmon: Think they forgot they was supposed to be a thrift store 25 dollars for a leaky fish tank.
joyce abbott: Do not go here!!! My daughter got vouchers to get her kids clothes and she left crying. She was followed around by the manager and told she could only buy from a certain section which was not true. The managers and employees were rude. They called her a voucher person!!!
Ashley Hobbs: This is by far the most overpriced goodwill I have ever been to. Used shoes should not be upwards of $30, and a beat up dresser that’s bowing in the middle was priced at $45. Absolutely ridiculous! This is not accommodating for lower income individuals, not to mention everything is USED and comes to the store for free… so why is it priced so high? Avoid this place like the plague.
Rebecca Smith: Found just what I needed in the first minute I walked in. I asked for the women's belts.
Sean Toaz: Everything is way over priced at this goodwill I have notice the last 4 times I've come here they have really used shoes for 20 and 30 dollars when they should be 5 or 10, also everything else is way over priced
Megan Wieland: This is the most expensive goodwill I have ever been to. The quality does not warrant the price either
Nel Gambit: I used to get pants here all the time. Never again. For one thing they don't list the sizes of pants anymore and just call them 'Large Medium or small'. Furthermore they don't allow you to go in the fitting rooms anymore to see if the clothes fit. I'm not going to pay good money for clothes if I can't even determine if they fit me or not..What kind of idiots do they have running this place?
Sarah Slovinski: The "thrift grift" is big here. $26 for a used worn Under Armor sweatshirt?! Crazy! Why are donated items so expensive?! Please don't forget, Goodwill is a THRIFT store. You're selling secondhand goods you got for free.
Devin fox: I've been coming to this location for at least once a week for over a year since they sometimes have a good selection of used electronics, after today i will never even consider going there ever again, from the moment i walked in i had a worker follow me and stand right behind me as i looked through the electronics section, it made me extremely uncomfortable but i tried to ignore it but it only got worse as i was getting ready to pay for my items the lady who i believe to be the manager said she needed to talk to me upfront because i supposedly took a sticker off of something, she then got extremely rude and acted like a child. Being a small business owner myself I couldn't believe they think this is an okay way to treat customers.

Always Have Great Deals on Leather jackets and Some bags, retro suitcases and such.Located in a great area with nice Mexican restaurant, bar with free video games, many other nice shops nearby.
Machu: Was just in for the 3rd time ever. Super cool store that gets quite busy on weekends. Eclectic, stylish and curated thirft store with fair prices and frequently updated selections in every category. Worth visiting Lansing for if you like retro clothes.
Mark Golbeck: I wish i could give this guy zero stars but Google makes you put at least one star.My friends were walking around his store browsing and he confronted them. He yelled at my friends, you shouldnt be shopping here if you dont have the money. Sir that is called profiling.Another friend of mine bought his cheap five dollar rings but he said they are 100% real. It gave my friend a green finger underneath the cheap ring. They are not real rings. For the above reasons i will not shop at this store and i would strongly advise you do the same.Thank you.
Sarah Zeman: Pretty bland. Saw Walmart pants hanging and priced for 20$ for something on clearance for$6 at Walmart
Rachael Taylor: Absolutely love this store 💜❤️💜 every time I go in I feel welcomed and there's always something I fall in 💙love with. I don't think I've ever left Metro Retro without buying something. Last time I was there I got this adorable pink dress.👗👒👡👛👙👓.. I love the atmosphere and the employees 😘
Nicholas Nelson: Metro Retro is one of our FAVORITE Old Town shops! We always find unique and fun merchandise for both ourselves and as gifts! The staff has always been helpful and easy to interact with; they're always ready to answer questions and make your experience the best possible. My wife said she feels safe in this store because the proprietor, Ted, has always got your back and always makes you feel safe and welcome (unless you're a troublemaker). Thanks, Ted!
Wolves: Metro retro is a gem in the Lansing area. Ted and the crew are always incredibly kind and helpful, not to mention so lovely to share a conversation with. This place has helped me expand my wacky sock+earring collection, and every time I go in I’m drawn to some new and exquisite article of clothing. Thanks for creating such an accepting place!
Practice Liaison: This store, the owner, and anyone who works here are incredible! They are genuinely good people and have unique and cool items! I would highly recommend! ❤️❤️
Nick Pollack: Great store! Love the employee and owner. Definitely recommend checking out if ever going through old town.
David Cooper: Ted and the crew are best !!! This place is a mid Michigan staple.
Matthew Bush: Have often browsed, occaisonally made a purchase, always enjoyed the visit and never had a problem. The "No TwatWaffles" sales are the best!
Aiko magen: Metro Retro is my favorite store over in old town. They always have the nost unique clothes and Ted is always supet cool and is such a sweetheart!
Shawn Dyer: Ted and his quirky little store are a damn treasure. There are always super fun and interesting things to be found. Please note there is a sign that clearly states that a$$holes, racists, sexists, and homophobes should likely go elsewhere. If you happen to fall into that category I would suggest finding another shopping destination!
Maggie: Amazing stuff and amazing service! I wanted to sell my demonias here I was gonna sell them super cheap and he wouldn't let me, sent me the way of another store that would be able to buy them for more money. He's super nice and funny has thrown in freebie stickers when Ive gone there I love getting stuff there it's always cool I'm obsessed!

Thrift Witch: what do users think?
Natalie Count: Great place to go if you want gothic style clothing or decor or even just odd gifts. The owners and staff are LGBTQIA+ friendly and supportive. The store next door is a huge LGBTQIA support as well and even sells pride based merchandise
Jessi Shepherd: I want to buy... everything.
Luna the fanalien: I ADORE THIS STORE! A lil bit out of my budget but then again that's not an issue with them or anything my budget is just SMALL lol
Great Lakes Narwhal Michelle Erskine: Love this store has so many different things from vintage cloths to specimens in jars
Sarah Zeman: Great thrift, very friendly staff!
Arica Nyboer: Terrible experience. 3 friends and I were walking around old town shopping, spent our money almost every place we went and everyone in the stores were sweet except here. One friend went to use a dressing room (they aren’t locked there’s no sign) to which the red headed employee was EXTREMELY rude to me and another friend saying “next time ask”. So rude. Idk if the insinuation was we were stealing? But they lost our business permanently. Sad cause it’s cute stuff. Wouldn’t recommend.
Lainy Todd: Such a cute shop! Love the huge earring selection!
matthew andrus: Teisha is DA BOMB!!!
Djinn Thompson: Thrift which is the coolest store in Lansing and Teisha is a kind and affirming human being this is a very safe place for people with marginalized identities
Treya Dykstra-Swords: Thrift Witch has a really fun selection of clothing! I can always find something to bring home when I shop Thrift Witch. They also have fun events and guest artists!
Natisha Jorae: I always find something to buy and many more things I’d like to buy. Great shop full of thoughtfully curated items. I have only met wonderful people every time I’ve been in (customers and staff) definitely worth a trip to check out. Also near other great shops in the area.

Jim Bennett: They have such a unique selection of stuff. I just like stopping by every month or so to see what’s new. Super friendly staff!

Mikayla Graham: Amazing establishment! I come here every time I’m in Old Town and they never fail to disappoint. From vintage items to featuring tons of local artists, this is one of the small town shops that cares about the local community. The owner is incredible and sparks up a conversation with my fiancé and I anytime we’re in. She’s always speedy with answering questions and giving fashion advice when asked for. Can’t wait to see what they put on at a Festival of Oddities this year!
Ronald Meyer: This shop is a treasure.
Seven Mattes: I dislike shopping in general, but I LOVE shopping at Thrift Witch! The best, most supportive people and the dark creepy goods that feed my soul. They're the key reason I come to Old Town!

Plato's Closet East Lansing: what do users think?
Silent Night: Jocelyn rocks!! Keep it up girl
Ashley Thompson: Loved the low price.
Quintessa Maurer: They seem to be a friendly well organized store but when it comes to selling your clothes they never said they wouldn't buy your clothes that was not on there buying and selling description. All they say is you had a nice selection and great items but we can't buy them.
Lavell Massey: A very horrible experience, honestly seemed a bit racist in my opinion. I brought in clothing that had never been worn before with tags on them. Very good condition, name brand clothing. Honestly didn’t care how much I would get for them. They told me the wait would be an hour and half, I waited 6 hours until they got back to me. They gave me every item back saying it wasn’t in their “demographic” clothes aren’t in your demographic. I will not be coming back here.
Virginia David: Sara was so helpful and positive.
Bahxmut: This store is absolutely an abomination to the east Lansing community. The fact that they buy dirty, broken shoes and price them over $50 without even checking them out is absolutely atrocious. I brought some clean, good brand, popular pieces of clothing and I got offered under $35 regardless. I brought in a whole backpack filled with good clothing yet they only choose 4 little items (including $100 worth shoes) and yet offered me $34. This store will seriously lowball you regardless of the value you bring in. You could try selling them some gucci or a gold brick and they will only offer you pennies. I do not recommend this store at all if you’re looking to sell giant bags filled will awesome brands. I would give this store negative stars if it let me. Never doing business here again.
Mollie Gagne: Sophie R, Luke, and Alexis were all so kind and helpful today!Thank you! 😁
Jase King: loved there selection !! Got Something for me and him !! Gabby s. was great ..
Mikaylah Duffield: This location is great! Lots of great inventory! Great choices!

Karli Clark: Great styles! 😊
Milo Treger: I love coming to this store. They’re always so kind and organized and have some solid finds. I definitely recommend visiting.
Emily Littlejohn: I had a very good experience here today especially considering the busy atmosphere. Several of the staff asked me whether I was okay and the store is very clean.
Kelly Stornant: Sophie R was excellent!! Great finds!
Aubree Tucker: Sophie R. Was amazing
Better Life Fulfillment: Wonderful staff! And had plus size options 👏🏾👏🏾 Shoutout to Sofi R. for making this a wonderful first experience!
Sutton Wright: Robby Tuck and Sophia R are kindest people ever

They had a nice selection of everything. Home furnishings, jewelry, clothing, shoes... you name it. When we popped in they were offering 50% off everything. I left with a darling 1950's dog eyeglass holder. We will definitely be back soon. It was well worth the trip!!! Thanks for an awesome experience.

Blake Khogali- Watson: Great finds awesome owner...check it out it ROCKS
aliana sherman: Over priced really. Not much quality gems either. The counter clerk was fairly rude at check out, which made us not purchase anything. Don’t waste time.
Theresa Grace: This place is in Lansing is a REO town, they're small. Little downtown is full of some unique places in this is one
