Simple Man: These 2 counter guys are great I made a mistake reserved the wrong trailer and they went out of their way to help me in the ice and snow got me the right trailer and helped me with the hitch!!

Bekah B: I rented a Uhaul from this facility to move to Lansing. After we packed up the truck with my belongings from my apartment near Detroit the starter on the truck went bad. They sent 3 technicians throughout the night to verify that it was the starter and they could do nothing. Had to sleep on the floor in my empty apartment while waiting for it to get towed. This whole process took 18 hours. Me and my husband both lost a days work. The company offered to not charge us for the extra day we had it… because of the truck breaking down. We have tried contacting the manager Brian and he hasn’t responded. We advise no one to rent or use this company because they will give you a bad truck and try and blame you for the extra days you had it while it was broken down.

It is quicker and easier than looking for a larger box. 📦 Boxes start at .99 on the day I was there. The larger flat screen TV box that I needed was $13.00 on the day I was there. It solved my shipping problem.

Kelly Plummer Sherrard: I've moved a lot in the past five years, dealing with multiple U-haul locations across the U.S., and I can truly say that this U-haul has the best customer service. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was prompt, plus the store was very clean. I'd recommend them to anyone in the Lansing area.

Theodore Kopulos: Was told I can bring my own wiring harness kit ($80) and be charged "third party labor" with no warranty. MY kit was STOLEN, a u haul kit was used and I was charged the full amount of a wiring kit with regular labor. Close to $300. Found that wiring was NOT done correctly and trailer lights didn't work. Was told there'd be EXTRA labor costs since it was third party. Traced all the wiring MYSELF and found the issue. Incorrect wiring, ground wire hanging from a stripped bolt and poor connections all around. Oh and trailer connection was to short to be used as is. Almost $400 and HOURS of my own labor. NEVER AGAIN GETTING ANYTHING INSTALLED HERE!!!!

Christy Sochay: We reserved a truck and appliance dolly in advance for our move. Upon arrival, the appliance dolly was not available. My husband was told that a reservation does not guarantee it will be available. If that's the case, it would be good to know so it can be secured from somewhere that guarantees their reservations. Instead of offering an apology, the employee was a smart Alec, told my husband it was no big deal & we'd be able to move the appliance ourselves w/ assistance from others. Actually, IT WAS A BIG DEAL....that's why we reserved the dolly. Thankfully, Home Depot across the street had one available that day. The final U-Haul bill still included a charge for the dolly they did not have available for us.We were also incorrectly charged for fuel usage. Truck was driven a total of 15 miles and gas used was replenished from the gas station approximately 1/2 mile from rental location before we returned it. Despite this, we were charged for 20 miles worth of gas.My husband had to waste his time calling to have these two erroneous charges removed. Supposedly, it will be refunded in 3-5 days.Moving is stressful enough. Rental trucks & appliance dollies are available many other places; I recommend going elsewhere and saving yourself additional stress & from the bad attitude of the employees here. Giving 1-star because they did, indeed, have the actual truck (which, I guess, even that can't be guaranteed). I'd rather give a good review of helpful places. Can't do that here.

Mike Foster: I made a phone appointment for a trailer hitch to be installed via the U-Haul number published online. The person who took the appt. for a month later and gave me a time and price for the work. I confirmed the location and time at the Waverly Rd. location.One month later I drove 30 miles to the U-Haul location and was told that "we don't do hitches now and the appointment was no good. She also told me that I must have made my appt. with someone in Phoenix, AZ (online) so that was the problem.There was no "I'm sorry about your inconvenience" nor was there ever a phone call to tell me a hitch couldn't be done at that date. The agent was unconcerned and not the least helpful. Since there are a couple of other local U-Haul hitch locations they could have offered to help me reschedule with one of them. No such luck. She then looked over my shoulder as if to say move along so the next customer can come up to the counter.Poor communication, poor customer service, and a lost customer.

Michael Stevens: The attendants working at this location are rude. After getting the key, the attendant told me, “Your truck is somewhere over there.” He pointed to the general vicinity and returned inside the store. The other attendant tried to hard sell me on the insurance and was rude and insulting after I declined. Both attendants dress like hoodlums and are covered with tattoos and have multiple body piercings.

Frederick Fritz: The installation of a hitch and lighting assembly on my 2016 Tiguan surpassed my expectations. I appreciate the installer took the time to answer all my questions and review his work. He was very cordial and patient.The supervisor greeted me well and came out and offered my dog treats and water as we waited for the installation. She also gave me a discount on a complete package that was lees expensive than that I had contracted on-line. It wasn't big bucks, but the initiative is very appreciated. I have already referred friends to this site.Oh, lest I forget. The installation package was 50% of a dealer install!

Allan Greig: Rented a truck. I was sweeping it out and an employee showed up and and said “don’t worry about that I can take care of it.” I said, okay, thanks. A few weeks later I saw an extra charge from Uhaul on my statement for a cleaning fee. I had to fight over the phone with the manager to reverse that charge. Totally shady.

Anna Meeyung: They charge you with hidden fees . No one told me about any fees. It was my first time renting a uhaul . They make you paid 100.00 and after return the thing they take whatever amount . And liars work there too. It took me four days to get the remainder of my money after I called customer service and asked when I will be getting my money bc the guy at the store told me I would be getting my money back right away. I had to complain about them charging me for the use of the dolly that I never used and some other fee I wasn’t aware of. So today I get my refund and it’s not even the amount I was supposed to get it was short. So once again I called them and not very friendly folks.Unhappy customer

So I called to explain the awful experience I had, and when I returned a week later Ron confronts me in the parking lot yelling at me calling me a liar and getting quite aggressive. For someone who claims to have 29 plus years experience, you would think he would be more professional. Never returning here again.

Sandra Nadeau: Zero Stars really. Dropped tractor for service on a coolant leak. Eight days later we found nothing had been done to the truck, despite being told it was "partially fixed!" Supposedly they were waiting on a part from Kenworth for 5 days, then for whatever reasons, couldn't work on it that or the next day. I tried to pick it up on the 7th, but they assured me the night mechanic would have it together that night. The next morning when I showed up to get the truck, instead of a repaired truck, I received a reprimand for having trusted them to do what they said they would do! The owner/manager or whoever the morning person was, explained rather forcefully, that I would NEVER have been promised my truck would be finish at a certain time! I have no idea who he thought he was talking to, but apparently Star Truck doesn't need my business. That and I'm pretty sure he thought my driver was the owner! Nope. Hey, I get it. People can have bad days! Kewl! I forgive that! But, that doesn't mean I forget or have the time to waste waiting endlessly for people to do what I hire them to do!

D Dez: Bad place to rent a trailer, i did rent one .and request for better tires on it but manager told me they were ok .so they did not chage them , they replied if tires blow out we cover , when i hit the road for 3 months about 4 tires blew out , yes they called for service and replace tires but what happen next is the bad move from star truck ..once i ruturned the trailer they said me they charge me for the tires because it was my fault drive the trailer and hit the holes down the road ..ha ha what a trap they set me up .. So they did charge me $ 680 for the tires ..means they know what they are doing .they use old bad tires to rob customers that easy ..i highly recomend no to rent here or at least no to rent a trailer with junk tires ..or you will be buying new tires for star truck(trap)...here is an email sent to me by star truck after i found out they stole the money from the credit card.Star truck mail:Our tires are monitored closely and we do not have unsafe tires on our equipment.  All drivers experience damaged tires, sometimes there is no way around it as the highways are full of pot holes and debris.  You can’t miss them all.   This in no way reflects upon your driving ability.The tire vendor was very adamant that this tire was damaged.  When a tire fails they fail in specific manners which allows us to determine what type of failure occurred.I’m sorry, but we will not be crediting back your account.
