Tutor Time of Sterling Heights: what do users think?
Karl Moxley: Was told there were two spots open for summer camp and I should set up a tour the next day to secure a spot. At the tour I was told the school was not sure if there were going to be any spots open or not. I would need to wait and they would let me know. I said they should have told me that in the first place and I wouldn't have left work to come in for a tour. A total waste of time.
Anna Javed: Critical:Value
Jacquelyn Havlik: My daugther has a speech delay-not only did the school double check they could accommodate her before enrolling, they make a point to tell me when she gains a word at daycare, and are open to any tweaking she needs. They make sure she is comfortable and included. As a military family, I have had to use a lot of daycare providers but this Tutor Time by far is the best we have ever used. Also, Ms. Sasha is the best daycare teacher. She has helped Lillian so much in communicating. She has a special place in my and my daughter's heart
Marie Davis: First, this review is for a specific teacher at this school, her name is Miss Sasha, and my grandson is Tristan Davis. This teacher has the patience of any teacher I have ever met in a pre-school setting,to try to keep children's attention span from going all over the place, she keeps the kids active minds busy and fun. The kids love her, always special hugs for everyone and what I love is her attention to all details with the kids, her learning techniques and the ways they are implemented,I love how she has brought my grandson out of his shell, and how he thrives each day he is with Miss Sasha,he's eager to show us how much he learned on these days. My son and I are so thankful to her for all she does for Tristan and the rest of the kids in her class,Tutor Time, you are lucky to have this special teacher to teach young minds,it's too bad she can not be CLONED. Keep up the great work Miss Sasha and Tutor Time, and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, Kevin and Marie Davis.
David Bongiorno: Tutor time really is a great place. The people are so loving and friendly. They have cameras and an app that tells you about their day. Obviously you don't have 1 on 1 care but overall they do such a good job
Megan PH: My 18 month old has severe separation anxiety and I dread leaving her with anyone . I eventually had to get back to work and I picked this facility after touring many others. My child has been attending here for a month now and I could not be more pleased. They're highly attentive & keep you informed about your child all day long . I dont have a single worry while I'm working knowing my child is in good hands. Amber ( the director ) is especially helpful and works well with my situation. If I could rate this place more than 5 stars I would. My daughter is well cared for and has a great time . Also I've noticed shes learning more . Probably from interacting with other children or possibly the staff. Either way my daughter is picking up healthy and new habits.
Brian Ohear: We have placed all three of our children in their care, since the first one was 3 years old to this date, at 9years old for summer camp. They have worked with us through illness, growth, and social handicaps. They separate ages into DIFFERENT rooms and have a strictly adhered to ratio of children to teachers (varying on age of class). It is bittersweet to watch them grow and move to new classrooms, as teachers become family. They are very patient and loving, even for those children with whom it might be a bit difficult to interact. It is a school and a day**CARE**.
Steph: Excellent place to take your kids. I can leave to work knowing they are in good hands. I've been taking my kids through house sitters and other professinal sitting services and this is by far the best. Thanks Tutor Time and the staff at 14 Mile & Vandyke. They have made it very simple for my wife and I.
Amy Smith: Best child care around!
Amy Ricketts: I love this facility. The staff are amazing. I've always been nervous to send my young children off to a stranger to care for them, but when my 18 month old is happy to arrive and literally runs to her teacher, it's quite obvious that she enjoys being there, the staff enjoys having her there and that she is safe and well cared for. I would highly recommend this facility.
Amanda York: We absolutely love the infant room staff at Tutor Time! It's so nice to know our baby is loved and cared for while we are apart during the day. The updates and photos we receive throughout the day are so nice and appreciated. The director is extremely helpful and always welcoming. I would definitely recommend this location to any of my friends and family.
Leah Cookie: This Tutor time is the best ever! They are caring and wonderful. Its a safe and secure environment for you kids. It's clean and most important you're children matter to them. I sent my twins from age 3 to 5 and will continue to take them in the summer for camp and school closing days.
Rebecca Davis: Tutor Time in Sterling Heights has an amazing staff that are very involved with the children. First time in a classroom and noticed what a clean and safe environment it was.
Tina Kowitz: When I was pregnant with my first son 6 years ago, I must have went to at least a dozen daycare centers, and this is the one that we picked. For us, it's a bit of a drive. But soo worth it.First, this is so much more than a daycare. It's a family. Everyone there truly cares about the kids. We found out about my sons food allergies when he was 2 1/2, and they have been amazing. I feel he is safe when he is there, which any food allergy mom could tell you is HUGE.Second, this isn't just babysitting. They really work hard to teach the kids at all levels. My youngest is in preschool, and I am amazed with the curriculum Ms. Katie has planned. They also have plenty of time for play. My oldest is going into 1st grade now. Me. Melissa did an amazing job in the Pre K class, he was more than prepared. All the staff go above and beyond what is required of them. Great job!
Marlena Habel: My son has been attending this daycare since he was 4 years old. They have an amazing staff and it is a wonderful school!
Katie Glanc: Finding a daycare can be daunting. Here you are, passing your little bundle of sunshine off to people that you've just met. When we moved downstate in 2011, we looked around to find a place that would would challenge her academically, care for her development as much as we did, and - lets face it - fit in the budget - didn't seem like it would be easy. It was a struggle at first and we looked at quite a few options- everyplace offers something - but this Tutor Time really was the complete package. The teachers genuinely care about their students, and routinely go above and beyond for the little people whos pictures adorn their walls, and whos artwork is proudly displayed. The focus on learning, welcoming staff, open communication won us over - the ease of online bill pay was like a bow on the top of a present. Best choice, hands down.I refer everyone I know looking for a daycare to Tutor Time.
Ashlee Reighard: I absolutely love this daycare. My son has been going here since he was around 6 months. The nursery workers Melissa and Nicole are the most amazing workers and they really care about your infant. My son is now with Mrs. Philly & Mrs.Diane in the toddler room and they are both amazing with my son. Its pretty expensive but you get what you pay for. I know when I drop my son off he is in a safe and loving environment. The center is very clean and organized. I highly recommend this daycare! Oh and my son is in love with the directors Shannon & Sue. hehe!
Katie Kaz: My oldest son has been attending this Tutor Time for 4 years. At one point when he was an infant we took him somewhere else because it was cheaper. We eventually came back because the level of care was so much better at Tutor Time. You get what you pay for. Ultimately, no one will care for your child the way you can as a parent, but they come pretty close. The caretakers are wonderful and always make the child and parent feel special. My son has developed wonderful relationships with his friends and teachers that I hope will last a very long time, even after he moves on to school.I now have my 4 month old son in the infant room here as well and it's been the best experience. He is happy, fed, loved and cared for and it shows. Also, this center has a very low turnover rate. The director, assistant director and most of the staff have been the same since we started there. When staff leaves it's usually only because they have completed their degrees and go on to other teaching opportunities.

Tutor Time of Sterling Heights: what do users think?
Ayana Aseel: If I could give less then star I will , the manger are bad attitude and the really bad caring for kids , I sow my child eating from garbage and they didn’t care , my kids were falling on head and the got a bites from other kids , it’s really scary there please don’t take your kids
Frostie Owen: My son was a student from 8/21 until 06/10/22.After 10 months with Tutor Time we noticed a significant decline in the quality of care and I would not recommend this facility. We often witnessed children being ignored. If a child is sad they were left to cry for extend periods of time and told, "came get me when you calm down". We witnessed this in person and on the camera app EVERYDAY. Rarely do the teacher "play" with the children. More often than not as you walk through the halls you would notice a teacher just sitting, staring at the children with little to no interaction. Almost every morning children being dropped off will scream cry and try to run out the door after their parents. It was heartbreaking to watch and experience. Upon pick up, often times our son's diaper would be so full that it would be falling off him and hindering his ability to walk. It was so bad one day that the Director of the school personally walked us back to the classroom and changed my son diaper in front the the teachers that just watched her and didn't say anything. Incident reports for injuries was almost weekly if not twice a week. And finally the ratio of students per teacher are high, yes they meet state regs however its A LOT for one teacher. In my son's class the state allowed is 8 students per 1 adult. That is eight 2 year old's trying to potty train running around to every one teacher. The teachers are asked to entertain the children, keep them safe, feed them, change diapers, help in the potty, update communication apps, take photos etc. Its A LOT for one person and we witnessed students were unable to receive any extra attention that wasn't an essential need. The new communication app that Tutor Time uses called SproutAbout is created and owned by Learning Care Group which is the organization managing/owns? Tutor Time. The app works only about 50% if time. So watching your child on the camera is spotty. Additionally the app does not notify you if a message is sent and vice versa with the teachers. Every staff member we talked to would say they hate the app as well. We also became concerned with the accountability the school has if their camera app is owned by them. All in all I feel like a good 35% of the staff is trying their best but are often overwhelmed with the tasks they are asked to perform therefore only being able to provide essential need care to the children verse providing a loving and patience atmosphere we looking for.
Derek Crowe: We had a daughter at another chain daycare and had a terrible experience . We have nothing but good things to say about the our experience at Tutor Time. Our daughter loves the teachers and is very well cared for. The staff actually educates the kids. The other chain couldn't keep the kids safe let alone teach them anything. We will miss all the staff and have nothing but gratitude for how they cared for our child.
Alexis Byrd: Positive:Professionalism,QualityMy kids love being here. And the I love the staff. 💕
Heather Hoekman: Such a great school for my children! My son goes there all year round since he was 6 months old, and he is now 4. My daughter goes there over summer break while I work. They have great staff and they pay close attention to detail for the early education of my little ones. I would give 10 stars if I could!
Jenn Pantaleo: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,ResponsivenessMy daughter has been going here since she was 12 weeks old. They are professional and put a first time moms mind at ease. She is now two and is thriving in this learning environment. Highly recommend!!
simply Vintage: Critical:Reliability,Responsiveness
Yuliya: Where to do start.... We have been going to this child care ON and OFF for over a year now. We had a great experience with Ms. Diane in the infant room, we took a little break came back & placed in toddler 1 with Ms. Sara and then Ms. Jenna. Took another break came back to Toddler 2 NOW our first week back where everything went downhill. It turns out that my little munchkin is sensitive to dairy. I mentioned on the first day that he is DAIRY FREE to assist director & lead teacher Ms Loretta.1st day went well.2nd day: he was fed yoghurt for breakfast. (I right away contacted told the teacher no dairy for this guy)3rd day: he got a little upset when I was undressing him, so I left him in his snowboots when a teacher took him away from me, I told her that he has gray shoes that he needs to be changed into. 1.5 hrs later he was still walking around in those snowboots. I contacted assist director, she handled it.4th day: he was let out outside with no hat, scarf or gloves on a 30 degree weather. Then for lunch was fed cheese ravioli. On this day I spoke to Ms Jill, the director. Let her know what has been happening, she said she will be talking to Ms Loretta in the morning since she was not there. That's when I decided not write a review because I truly love this day care but then come home & as I start to unwrap his diaper, I came to another suprise... Bad wiping job, this is how the little ones can get a UTI, I am hoping that no bacteria was spread! And CHERRY ON TOP he got a LOW GRADE FEVER of 100.2!Parents please be extra clear and direct of yours & your child's needs.
kaitlyn pipp: This place is great! I was worried because my 2 year old had only been watched by family before coming here, but she absolutely loves it! Such an awesome staff and environment for my little one! We couldn’t be any happier with the decision that we made to come here!
Alesha Martiss: The teachers and directors make everything easy. As a mother sending my son off to daycare for the first time, I was terrified. My son's teachers made the transition as smooth as possible. His teachers, Jenna and Phylicia, held him when he cried and always shared updates with us everyday via the apps. Now, he doesn't want to leave when we come to pick him up! The center is newly renovated and looks great! The directors Jill & Melanie answer every question, no matter how silly I may think they are. This is a daycare I would recommend to everyone.
jocquez maloy: Horrible..The staff was very unfriendly toward my grand daughter other kids was playing outside and in the classroom while I watched them make her lay down I recorded it also 😢 she was very nervous scared to move one staff worker tried to tell me and my wife that she was sleep not knowing we just watched her change her on our phones from the parking lot I PROMISE THIS IS NOT OVER👌🏾
Traci: Loved this place. The staff are amazing and you can tell they truly love and care about your children. The director and assistant director do not miss a beat and know everything that is going on in their school. They are present in class rooms, so much that my 9 month old would go to both of them no problem. Could not have asked for better teachers and aides. Felt comfortable with all of them.
Ko- rana: Great daycare center with great summer camp program, nice and friendly staff, great director and assistant director!!!
Angela Legato: We absolutely love Tutor Time! My son's teachers have been nothing but amazing, he is almost one and loves to go to school already. The staff treat you and your child like family. As soon as I did a tour of Tutor Time at this location I instantly knew my son would be going here. Anytime anyone asks me where I send my son for daycare I recommend Tutor Time and this location if it is possible for them.
Sora Obead: I have bad experience with this place
Anna Krzak: A great place for the kids and awesome teachers! I highly recommend t!
Jennifer Mills: I was a stay at home Mom for 11 years and my youngest (5) started TutorTime on Hayes almost 5 months ago. They have exceeded my expectations in care. Not only do they communicate daily via BrightWheel but they also have live cams where I can log in and see my son. I can see the love and care he’s given. I can see the fun he’s having. Jill the director is fantastic and the staff is really exceptional. We will be sad to move on to Kindergarten but so grateful to them for getting my son ready to start school in the fall. I really can’t thank them enough!
Courtney Harvey: AWESOME STAFF AND MANAGEMENT!
Brett Geml: I was really iffy about the whole day care thing. My son is less than a year old and loves day care. I went to pick my son up on the first day because I was really freaked out about leaving him at day care at his age. When i visted, the security to get in and out and also wear footies entering the kids room impresses me?and over all service of the staff convinced me to give it a shot. He’s almost eight months old and as smart and aware like he’s two years old. He’s already walking and saying momma and daddy. The updates of him making friends and eating, sleeping really ease your mind. I’ve had a few people say the program might be a little more than a average day care but it’s worth every dollar. You can’t put price on educated, ethical, caring and smart workers who are helping you with the most important part of your child’s years: Tutor time really has a great program, check it out!
Christina Burrows: We were only at Tutor Time for a short while prior to getting in at a daycare at our work, but we had a very positive experience. Management went out of their way to help us with obtaining funding assistance through the Army Fee Assistance Program. We really liked the infant room. The teachers were all very nice. We also really liked the app that they use to give us updates throughout the day. Going back to work was hard, but seeing pictures of my son during the day helped! We were disappointed to leave.
Atty Tube: My boys have been at Tutor Time for awhile now and I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. My oldest son has some behavioral problems and the difference Tutor Time has made with him is amazing. He has improved in so many areas, in school and at home. I love their curriculum and the time they devote to physical activity. They really have a good grip on how kids need to play and learn. I enjoy hearing about my kids day, and the fact they don't want to even leave school when we come pick them up! There is always something going on, either Tumble Bus or special visitors who bring animals, even a DJ has come to the school! The directors are very involved and even spend time with the kids in the classrooms. I enjoy this school very much all around and appreciate all they have done for my boys.
